Malorie Cooper likes to think of herself as a dreamer and a wanderer, yet her feet are firmly grounded in reality.
A ‘maker’ from an early age, Malorie loves to craft things, from furniture, to cosplay costumes, to a well-spun tale, she can’t help but to create new things every day.
A rare extrovert writer, she loves to hang out with readers and people in general. If you meet her at a convention, she just might be rocking a catsuit, cosplaying one of her own characters, or maybe her latest favorite from Overwatch!
She shares her home with a brilliant young girl, her wonderful wife (who also writes), a cat that chirps at birds, a never-ending list of things she would like to build, and ideas…
Author M.D. Cooper has brought us another great adventure with Rika and the Marauders. This time they are setting up a base to train the mechs that have come over to their side on one the Marauders allied worlds. Only they find out that the Nietzschean's have set up an insurrection within the local government. The Niets then attack the base that Rika has set up only to fall. This then leads Rika'a Marauders to take on the waiting Nite ships that are within the local gas giant. This is a great book and one not to be missed. I am looking forward to the next book in this series and I highly recommend it too.
I continue to enjoy my adventures with Rika. Deception and betrayal play a major role in this thriller along with the semi-humans playing liberators to an unlikely constituency. No spoilers here! Very interesting to see what happens when the enslaved and endentured are free to join the battle. Well worth walking through the series. Looking forward to more!
I really enjoyed this story and especially enjoyed seeing Kelly and Rika together again. Kelly seems to help humanize Rika. This story has a little surprise at the ending, and the different Mech descriptions is very nice to have. I am definitely looking forward to reading the next book as well. 😎
Thrilling fun with mechs and Rika leading her troops at last. It starts out a bit slow with laying out a groundwork of intrigue but jumps right into mechs kicking squishie butt. Riga’s adventures really help to put a different spin on the universe outside of Tanis and her side of the story.
Amazing series and universe! I love that the characters are so believable and flawed. It gets a little odd with all of the technology and it's very detailed descriptions, but once you figure it out it makes it worthwhile. I have read - and now bought - all the books that even touch on the Aeon 14 universe!
Another excellent entry in Cooper's Rika's Marauders series. Cooper does an excellent job of not doing the same thing in each book, though there is always great action and stuff getting blown up all over the place. This entry sees Rika learning how to lead and even take on some unexpected challenges along the way. Another fun read!
Read this on new-years day and by the end I had to look up the first book in the eaon 14 universe as the next book jumped a few books from where it left off. The good news is that it did warn you that you needed to read some other books first. I did like this book as Rika progressed from being a team member. To a person who commanded people.
The thing about life, is that there’s really no happy ever after, because there’s really no ending.
This book was told from a few more points of you than just Rika’s, and jumping back-and-forth between narrators was sometimes a little jarring. Like the other books, it is largely minute by minute battle action.
Great ending to the first trilogy. Plenty of action and science, but the climaxes lose some emotional weight when there always seems to be an overwhelming force rolling a D-20 to save the day in every book.
I love Rika’s growing self-assurance and her evolving romance with Chase. All of the characters are fleshing out beautifully! And, of course, the battles are over the top. Once again, Bravo!
Each book seems to get better and now I must wait for the next one to be written in order to move forward. Not Fair. Fired up to continue. Bring on more. lol
The action is amazing, the characters detailed and the universe so interesting that you want to move in. I love this series and definitely recommend it.
