About the author

Luigi Oreste Anzaghi was an Italian musician, composer and music teacher.

Professor at the Milan Conservatory . Best known for his didactic works on two instruments: the accordion and the guitar. For the guitar, he wrote "The Complete Method" ( Italian: Metodo Completo per Chitarra ) and several collections of exercises, and for the accordion, "The Complete Practical and Theoretical Progressive Method" ( Italian: Metodo Completo Teorico-Pratico Progressivo per Fisarmonica ). He arranged for the accordion a collection of folk songs from various countries (including "Dark Eyes"), as well as works by Franz Liszt , Fritz Kreisler , and others. He trained several stars of the Italian accordion scene, including Aldo Rizzardi and his own son, Davide Anzaghi , who won the World Cup among accordionists at the age of 14.
