CEO Aiden Kelley’s life of billionaire extravagance is flipped upside down when his ex shows up with a ten-year-old she claims is his. Totally out of his element and losing the control so integral to his success, he needs help. To top it all off, the only constant woman in his life, his executive assistant, has given notice just when he needs her help to survive his newfound fatherhood.
Chelsea Houston is an executive assistant, not a nanny. The only person more clueless about kids is her boss. Helping him on a daddy-daughter road trip is her last task before he’ll accept her two weeks’ notice and she can be free of the infuriating man she’s had a crush on for longer than she’d admit.
Aiden’s carefully ordered life has never been so disorganized, and he’s suddenly tempted by the things he thought he could never have. Things like love and family. Who knew chaos could be so damn fun?
Virginia Nelson believed them when they said, “Write what you know.” Small town girl writing small town romance, her characters are as full of flaws, misunderstandings, and flat out mistakes as Virginia herself. When she’s not writing or plotting to take over the world, she likes to hang out with the greatest kids in history, play in the mud, drive far too fast, and scream at inanimate objects. Virginia likes knights in rusted and dinged up armor, heroes that snarl instead of croon, and heroines who can’t remember to say the right thing even with an author writing their dialogue. Her books are full of snark, sex, and random acts of ineptitude—not always in that order.
Aiden Kelley’s life is turned upside down when he discovers a fling from 10 years ago had his baby. He is an uber success driven CEO with an amazing secretary, Chelsea, that is just as devoted to the companies success.
Chelsea has been crushing on her boss, it seems like forever. She has decided to give her 2 weeks and make a clean break just when her boss, Aiden, asks her to come along on a “family” trip to the Grand Canyon with his new found teen daughter. Chelsea immediately connects to Aiden’s daughter even though she’s never really been around children.
Chelsea seems to be exactly what Aiden needs to get through this difficult adjustment. But Aiden will do whatever it takes to be around his daughter, no matter the cost.
What a sweet and endearing story! The Irish Prince should become a Hallmark movie. It just had that feel good vibe with the perfect amount of emotional moments and strong character connection that pulls you right into the story-telling. Although the steamin' scenes are sure to get the show band to cable.
I received this ARC copy of The Irish Prince from Entangled Publishing, LLC - Indulgence. This is my honest and voluntary review. The Irish Prince is set for publication May 15, 2017.
Won’t be surprised if this series will keep on adding new books. So far, this series has unique plots. Like movie-wise storylines. You know, those rom-com movies.
Why did I read this? I was looking for a fluffy, contemporary palette cleanser and this seemed like it might be fun. But it wasn't so much. It was more annoying than fun. The 10 year old is the character with the most emotional maturity in this book. (Her mother is also awesome. I would read a book with her as the heroine.) The back and forth of the two main characters (particularly the hero) gave me whiplash. They change their minds to extremes often and their actions don't ever match with what they say they are thinking. Here is the thing that REALLY annoyed me though: the name labeling every time the perspective switched. WHY?????? This is written in third person limited. I would say the majority of romances are written in this point of view. I can name countless titles of third person limited point of veiw romance novels that switch back and forth between the perspectives of hero and heroine. I've never had trouble figuring out which was which. Why did Virginia Nelson think I needed help with this? The inserted names were just distracting. And made me angrier as I read because exactly how stupid do you think your audience is?

A pleasant office romance and everything one expects from that. A grumpy, controlling boss and a PA who knows just how to handle him and stand up to him. A little bit of a love/hate tug between the two, with Chelsea trying numerous times to quit. Things change when she's given an out if she accompanies her boss on a road trip with his newly found out daughter. Taking them out of their usual environment casts them in a different light and things change one stormy night.
A quick and enjoyable read and I look forward to reading the next one in the series.
CEO Aiden Kelley has become bored with his playboy life but he wouldn't admit that to anyone. However he did not plan that the announcement he is a dad to a ten year old girl will be what shakes things up. Aiden wants to get to know his daughter and when he is told to take her to the Grand Canyon he decides he needs his assistant Chelsea Houston in tow.
Chelsea has quit her job more times than she can count but each time Aiden talks her into returning. Now he wants her to help with his daughter Waverly, she knows nothing about kids but deciding this would be a paid vacation she goes. A trip that is planned goes slightly awry and unaddressed feelings come in to play and Aiden is faced with admitting what he really wants.
This was a entertaining read had several humorous moments. Great characters and I thought Waverly was a hoot. This is a book you pick up and enjoy in the warm weather.
What a wonderful book! I was completely engaged by Aiden and Chelsea's story and loved how it unfolded. Chelsea has a bit of a crush on her boss, Aiden, a control freak billionaire. She's never let him know about it or acted on it in any way. However, circumstances create an arena where she feels safe to kiss him, then to have him respond and sweep her off to bed.
What good would a romance be without a bit of angst? When the terrible thing happens, Aiden turns cold and totally shuts her out. He's turned so cold that Cheslea is even sure if she can continue working for him.
I loved the push/pull of this novel. Yes, it's a bit predictable, however, the author told the tale in such a delightful way that I just didn't care....she made me feel immersed in the story and enjoying every page of the characters' journey.
Fans of the genre will love this book. It's the first book I've read by this author, but it won't be the last. I'm adding her to my must read authors' list.
Lets start off by saying the is a brand new author for us and we loved our first read by them.
Chelsea was my favorite this time around as she was confident, had a backbone was witty, kind, smart, sexy and just so full off life.
Aiden well he was sexy, smart, controlling egotistical, vain at times and had a dominating personality who always needed to be in control. All those things yet Aiden loved with his whole heart once it was given both to his daughter and Chelsea.
Aiden has always secretly harbored feelings for Chelsea yet never acted on them.Chelsea has felt the same as Aiden and once the opportunity has risen they both act on those feelings. The chemistry was hot and explosive!
The story was filled with love romance and a few surprises along the way and we loved it.The characters were engaging fun and easy to connect with.I love when you can connect with the characters that you read about and I was able to do that with these characters.I love when you know a couple is meant for one another yet you know when they start off so intense something is going to spoil it and put a wrench into a relationship.I loved seeing the party grovel that being Aiden .I loved what he was willing to do to get back into Chelsea's good graces. Too Cute !
I have to say I fell in love with Aiden the minute he started taking dating advice from his 10 year old daughter.
A sweet romance with fun characters and once we started reading it could not put it down. What a fun read that made me laugh many times throughout the story. You rock Chelsea thanks for making me smile.
The Irish Prince is a sweet and slightly sexy romance read with beautifully charming characters that capture your attention from page 1 until the last page. Aiden Kelley is a self-made man who is now a billionaire from humble Irish roots and a self-confirmed bachelor. Chelsea, is his assistant who keeps him grounded and looks out for him. Suddenly an ex-lover dies and leaves him her their daughter, advising him that he is the child’s father and leaves him custody of a daughter he didn’t know existed… suddenly he is a father. Aiden went from this self-absorbed man to a man who started to actually show he cared about people., and show emotions. Chelsea at first was about to leave but she stayed and showed Aiden her love in many ways by always being there for him. He repaid her by being a total jerk and there was some ups and downs and then when something big happened, Aiden wasn’t there for Chelsea. Will she forgive him and let him back in or will she quit for good and move on? There was many times that I felt Chelsea needed to move on and forget Aiden but he can be a good guy. I just think there were too many times he was a jerk. Overall, this was a good read and could have been awesome if Aiden wasn’t such a jerk.
My Rating: 4.0 stars ***** "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
Let's keep this short, sweet and to the freaking point. I opted to review Virginia Nelson's The Irish Prince because I loved the blurb. The cover, on the other hand, well, quite frankly it was pure shite! I've come across some other books with exactly the same cover... different dude on it though. It's just lacklustre, and sadly for me it set the tone to the actual book. Please let me emphasise that I LOVED the blurb. But, the reality is that the story lacked je ne sais quois.
The protagonists, Aiden and Chelsea, were just childish. They should not be allowed to date, or even engage in grown up relationships. They just irritated me. Their back and forth held no humour or banter, at times came across as maliciously hurtful. Quite frankly he's egotistical and unattractively domineering. To say the least. Chelsea, had her moments of wit and feistiness— they were few and far between. In all honesty their saving grace on my regard is that they truly loved his 10 year old daughter. Oh, and he did go out on a limb to get back into Chelsea's good graces, after he screwed up.
This was a a short story and easy to read. The character development wasn't amazing— probably why I didn't get to love them even a little bit. The plot development was wishy washy and needed some more fire and spark behind it. It's really rather unfortunate that the book didn't live up to the blurb. I love myself and hero with kiddy baggage.
After years of being a voice in his ear Aiden Kelly's administrative assistant, Chelsea, has turned in her notice.... Again!
It's the same time that he finds out about a huge surprise ten years in the making.
The characters in this book are funny and smart. The humor that Chelsea and Waverly and Kimmy all have will make you laugh out loud. Not to mention Camden and his wife.
You'll enjoy reading this romantic comedy. I did.
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is the first book I have read by this author and I enjoyed it. I thought it had the perfect mix of sweet, emotional and feisty moments. Both characters were strong and at times stubborn. It was fun to watch Aiden's carefully controlled life change on a dime and then watch him as he fell in love both with his daughter and Chelsea. I enjoyed Waverly. She provided the story with some moments of wit, humor and typically ten year old thinking. While the premise of the story (billionaire dating his assistant) I thought this was a fun easy read and will consider this author's other books in the future.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book provided to me by the publisher through Netgalley.
I just finished this book after picking it up two hours ago. I laughed and I cried.
Virginia Nelson, once again, has brought her characters into physical beings through the words she puts out onto a page. She has poured her heart out through another sweet Prince novel and managed to give me faith that there is somebody out there for everyone - and they're probably right in front of you. The Billionaire Dynasties is beyond worthy of picking up if you're looking for something steamy, or even just something with a little kick. It's sexy, but modest at the same time. She has a way of balancing drama and emotion and perfection with a twist. You will not be disappointed!
Chelsea and Aiden are both amazing characters and I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in this series, even if I have to wait another year! Hopefully they will be back with a Cameo in the next one, just like Cam and Jeanie were in this one!
The Irish Prince just didn't do it for me, unfortunately. It was kind of boring and slow paced and nothing really happened until about 60% into the story. Chelsea is Aiden's long suffering Executive Assistant and has decided, finally! to quit her job with the man who absolutely drives her crazy. But, right as she tells him, he gets a bomb dropped in his lap - a woman he had been with briefly years ago, stops by his office to let him know they have a 10 year old daughter together and that she wants money from him to secure their daughter, Waverley's, future. When Aiden is told by Waverley's mother that Waverley wants to be a geologist, and that if he takes her to see the Grand Canyon then she'll arrange for visitation rights, he knows it's a good idea to get to know the daughter he's just found out about. Waverley, having bonded with Chelsea over their love of rocks while Waverley was in Chelsea's office, decides she wants Chelsea to go with them on the trip and Chelsea goes along with it, knowing she'll be able to be around the man she has a crush on for just awhile right before her notice is up and she leaves.
Inevitably, Chelsea succumbs to Aiden's charms during the trip, and she falls all the harder for him, even though he's about as charming as a rock. Honestly, Waverley is the best part of The Irish Prince. She's an adorable, self possessed, mature little spitfire. Aiden is boring and treats Chelsea horribly, especially toward the end when they have a problem finding Waverley during their visit to the Grand Canyon. And his grand gesture? So didn't cut it at all. Not only did he not grovel, but he barely apologized. Chelsea had my respect up until that point, when she took him back with such a weak apology. There are other things that really bugged me about The Irish Prince, but I don't have the inclination to list them all here. I'll just leave it by saying that there's not much chemistry between Chelsea and Aiden, there's not much of a connection at all, and the book is pretty boring. If it weren't for Waverley, I probably would have given this even fewer than 3 stars.
I received an ARC through NetGalley for an honest review.
This was very cute. I loved his daughter, a spitfire for sure. I would say much dirtier then the first book but still an all around easy read. I also liked that we got to see Camden and Janie again and see more of their life. Not sure if there is another book for someone else but I'm sure it would be just as good
No connection with the characters whatsoever. And even though my next comment might seem shallow, I really don't how I feel about an "alpha male" billionaire and former military man who DOESNT KNOW how to drive a car 😞 makes no sense to me, and after reading that I just couldn't stop thinking about that stupid fact hahaha

Cover
(I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review)
The Irish Prince had a lot of elements that I love in romance: and Alpha billionaire, a feisty heroine, a boss/office romance, and a single parent situation. Chelsea is Aiden's long-suffering assistant and we begin the book with her attempting to turn in her two week notice for the umpteenth time - this time it's because she found a woman's underclothes draped over the chair in her office (again!). Just as she submits her resignation, Aiden finds out that he has a ten year old daughter and he turns to Chelsea for help in bonding with the young girl via a cross country trip. Along the way we find out that Aiden has some anxiety issues that manifest as a need to control everything he can around him. It seems that Chelsea is the only person in his life that has identified the true root of his control issues and has devised numerous ways to make sure that he is comfortable without alienating him from those around him. Of course, there has always been an undercurrent of attraction between them and now that they are away from the office and her time working with him is coming to a close, they finally act on that attraction. And then, in typical alpha fashion, he gets scared of the intense emotions he suddenly realizes he has for her, pops off at the mouth, and breaks her heart.
I think my favorite part of the book was Aiden's daughter, Waverly. She was the sassiest, wittiest little ten year old ever! I did have a few issues with the storyline but nothing major - like Chelsea never really told Aiden why she was quitting, so we didn't find out the story behind the underwear she found in her office. And Waverly's mom was sort of flippant and dismissive in her explanation as to why she didn't let Aiden know that she was pregnant. Then there was the surprise proposal that really made no sense to me at all. But, I still found the book enjoyable and entertaining and finished it in one sitting. I give The Irish Prince 3 out 5 wine glasses.
Usually, I don't pick a book up that is in the middle of a series unless I've read the books that come prior to it. But something about this one just screamed at me and I knew that I just needed to give it a shot even though I knew absolutely nothing about this author. I'm glad that I did. It was a sweet book that I totally blew through.
The book was really endearing. I tend to shy away from books that involve characters that have kids. Probably because I have two boys and I don't want to read about anything that is similar to my life - books are an escape from your life, right? At least, that's how I look at them. But I enjoyed the moments of the book that involved Aiden's kiddo. The daughter's character was actually one of my favorite parts. I liked how spunky and so very headstrong she was. It added an interesting aspect to an already fabulous book.
Aiden's character ... he was simultaneously infuriating and sweet in a lot of situations. I just wanted to knock him upside his head with my Kindle quite a few times. When a character is THAT irritating and you still love him, you know that he's super well written. He had so many misguided hangups that you couldn't help but just adore him.
And Chelsea. Lord, that woman ... she is a bit bullheaded and isn't afraid to tell Aiden what she thinks but at the same time, she does back down. This trait made her super realistic and I could see a lot of myself in her - which just enriched the whole reading experience.
All in all, I really enjoyed most things about this book. There were a few slow parts that I kind of skimmed over, which is the reason for the almost-perfect rating. I'll definitely read another book by Nelson in the future. Good "by the pool" read for the summer!
* I received this novel in exchange for an honest review *
Chelsea had tried four times in the last month to submit her letter of resignation but then her boss Aidan reminded Chelsea that she was under contract. The man drove her crazy, had been driving her crazy for years. Every time Chelsea quit Aidan somehow managed to get her to take back her resignation and had convinced her to stay. But Chelsea was determined to quit this time no matter what Aidan Kelly said or did. Aidan just found out he had a ten year old daughter - Waverly- by a model Margo he had been with for a short time. All Margo wanted was money but Aidan said he wanted to get to know his daughter and then have visitation Waverly wanted to be a geologist when she grew up and really wanted to go to the Grand Canyon and Margo suggested he take Waverly there to start off. Especially as he was a control freak. Chelsea knew men like Aidan only liked women like her brain and for the ability to problem solve and deal with tricky situations. Chelsea was attracted to Aidan and Aidan now wants Chelsea to go to the Grand Canyon with him and Waverly. Waverly also wants that also. But this only spells trouble for Chelsea. Also she had given her two week notice and needed to interview and train someone to take her place when she left. But when at the Grand Canyon. Aidan and Chelsea slept together and Aidan tells Chelsea he wants her while one night tour of the canyon and Waverly comes up missing for a brief time and Aidan blames Chelsea by distracting him. This was an excellent read. But also a short read but lacking nothing and I loved it. I loved Waverly and she definitely added to this story. Also the stray cat. I loved how Chelsea knew how to make things ok for Aidan and had a serious crush on him for a long time and how Aidan realized just how much Chelsea really means to him. I loved the characters and the ins and outs and I highly recommend.
Aiden Kelley is a control freak extraordinaire, which serves him well as the billionaire CEO of his company, but makes it hard to be around him, especially his assistant. His well ordered life is turned upside down when an ex shows up with his 10 year old daughter, of which he had no clue about. It upsets his structured applecart, but that doesn't stop him from wanting to get to know his daughter. Chelsea Houston is his executive assistant, who has had enough of dealing with the difficult, and demanding boss. Just as she gives him her notice, he begs her to go on a trip with him and his daughter, but she's not a nanny, so she tries to decline. However, it's the only way he'll except her notice so she can be free of him. But the attraction she's always felt for the hot CEO is only magnified when they are in close quarters on this road trip, so will she be able to hold out until the end? The Irish Prince was a great story that I couldn't get enough of. Aiden drove me crazy, and I'm a control freak, but he was like the hot version of Sheldon Cooper. But I absolutely LOVED Chelsea so much, and wanted to junk punch Aiden on her behalf. Add in a precocious ten year old who is smart beyond her years, and you have a super fun read that kept me laughing. I really love Virginia Nelson's talented writing style, who blends all the things I love in my fun romance books perfectly, and I didn't want it to end. Plus she adds in just the right amount of angst to get my heart pounding, but also got me all jacked towards Aiden. My one real issue was the ending, as it was too rushed after everything in my opinion. But I LOVE this author a ton, so I'll always be impatiently waiting on her next "Prince" to add to my life. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
What a brilliant story to indulge yourself in! Take a billionaire who is used to his life running smoothly, have an ex show up with his ten year old child and have his executive assistant, Chelsea Houston, trying to hand in her notice! Nothing seems to be going right for the usually super controlling Aiden Kelley! He has no idea how to relate to his daughter, the existence of whom he was previously unaware, but he does want to get to know her. He decides to go on a road trip . . . . but he insists that Chelsea has to come along to help him with the promise that the fortnight will serve as her notice so she can then leave. Doesn’t sound too bad until you factor in that Chelsea has had a crush on for years and two weeks in such close, intimate contact may prove tempting beyond human resistance! As Aiden’s usually orderly life becomes chaotic he starts to think of new possibilities, new relationships and a different focus for his life, as he discovers fun can’t always be planned for!
This is a delightful, engaging story with great character and romance development. It is a roller coaster ride with so many switchbacks you have to be worried about staying safely on track to the end. Aiden blows hot and cold, whilst his daughter provides some great humorous moments and acts as a catalyst to help bring Aiden and Chelsea together. It is a fun read and great to escape into with a well written mix of fun, steam, drama and emotional turmoil!
I requested and was gifted a copy of this book via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion after choosing to read it.
I really enjoyed Virginia Nelson’s The Irish Prince. It is sweet, funny and a little spicy, and I am looking forward to reading more by Ms. Nelson. Chelsea Houston has been Aiden Kelley’s executive assistant for years and has tried to quit several times, but he's always convinced her to stay. He’s a controlling and demanding boss, and he drives her crazy. After she finds a bra in her office—he’s a playboy too—she submits her resignation and is swears this is it.
Her plans go out the window when Aiden suddenly finds out that he has a ten year old daughter he never knew about. He needs Chelsea to travel with he and his daughter on a get-to-each-other road trip to the Grand Canyon. He’s always relied on Chelsea, and he begs her to go. She reluctantly agrees after meeting his precocious daughter, but she fears she is treading dangerous ground going on a trip with Aiden and moving their relationship outside of the office. She’s always been attracted to him, and this intimate situation could blur the line between employee and boss, which she fears could break her heart.
The three set out on their trip to the Grand Canyon, and the journey is pretty hilarious. Both Chelsea and Aiden’s daughter have a sarcastic sense of humor, and they kept me laughing throughout the book. Aiden is sexy and charming, but he also has a sensitive side; it just takes a bit to bring it out f him. He's adorable as he deals with being and instant parent and his developing feelings for Chelsea. The Irish Prince is a fun and feel-good romance, and I highly recommend it.
This was my first read by the author, Virginia Nelson, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I want to see what else she may have written and read those.
This story follows Chelsea Houston, who is assistant to CEO Aiden Kelley and ready to quit when the story begins. She is tired of her boss’s antics and feeling under appreciated. Then something throw a loop in Aiden’s life and he realizes that he can’t let his trusty assistant quit when he needs her most. Together on a trip across across the country they discover sides to each other that they never knew about. This book tells how the two went from boss & employee to something a lot more.
There were so many cute moments to this romance that it kept the mood lighthearted, but the author manages to convey the serious times just as well as the humorous ones. This book is well rounded so the reader can really appreciate the author’s writing talent. She manages to convey a romance with enough chemistry to wonder why these two have never done something about their attraction before but not make it solely focused on the romantic relationship between Aiden & Chelsea; we also get excited about the growing familial relationship that is developing between Aiden & Waverley. I was excited to see how the story progressed for everyone and I loved the moments that the author would surprise me with something I was not expecting. I recommend this to anyone who loves a fun journey towards a happily ever after!
ARC received for an honest review and this novel was reviewed for My Timeout Book Blog by Melissa.
This novel is the second in the Billionaire Dynasties, but this is a standalone and there is no need to read the first to enjoy this one. The main characters do make an appearance in this novel late in it but you do not need a background in the to understand anything.
Aiden Kelley is a CEO billionaire who likes to be in control and have this on a tight schedule. That is until everything is throw up in the air with the discovery that he has a ten year old daughter. He learns quickly that he is going to have to make some changes in order to be a father to his daughter. Thankfully he has a personal assistant who has agreed to help him out. Chelsea Houston has kept everything running smoothly for Aiden for years. She is devoted, determined and has the worse kind of crush on her boss. Throw the two of these people, a ten year old and a road trip to the Grand Canyon and it leaves you with a great boss to lover story. Even after things look grim for these two you couldn't help but hope they would find their way back. And the grand gesture of love is the sweetest.
This is a great light story. I enjoyed Aiden and Chelsea's journey to each other. You will not only fall in love with them but Waverly as well. She is the perfect young character that adds to the story.
Being the first piece of work I have read by Virginia Nelson, I was not sure what to expect. As I've said before, I'm not a third person POV type of reader. However, in this book, it worked, the writing was fantastic.
I love that there is something new to catch your attention in each chapter. Not always major events, but enough to make you not want to put the book down. This is what happened to me. I started reading, and all of a sudden, I was done!
Nelson does a great job at giving us the right amount of details. Enough to keep you reading on, but not so many that the story becomes drawn out.
I am giving The Irish Prince by Virginia Nelson 5-stars. I figure when it's a one-sitter read, it has to deserve that! A perfect amount of twists to rile up Aiden and Chelsea. Romance and relationships are never easy, and Nelson wasn't making it easy for them, at all. I loved Waverley, I'm pretty sure she was my favorite character. As a parent, you always find yourself in your child, and she had a lot of Aiden in her. However, there was enough snark in her to make her seem like she could be part Chelsea too. The Irish Prince is a great romance, with minor conflict, some hot and heavy (but not extremely graphic) scenes, an all-around 5-star!
This was a cute, fairly short read. So 3.5 stars. I think in order for this book to have been amazing, it needed more detail and relationship building. Everything felt like it happened very quickly for Aiden and Chelsea. I also didn’t expect the depth of feeling towards the end of the book, since it seemed like they barely noticed each other in the beginning, but apparently they were like legit friends and had a fairly deep and meaningful friendship. It definitely did not come across that way to me in the beginning. It was more towards the end when they decided that they have been in love with each other since the first moment. I think I would have liked a little bit more of that in the beginning. Maybe that’s why it felt lacking, since they already had a relationship build before the book begun. Waverly was also a cool kid. She seemed way to open to the idea of a long-lost dad, especially since she seemed to think he purposely abandoned her until this point (I’m not sure what her mother told her about Aiden being absent from her life, it wasn’t made clear, but it definitely didn’t sound like she’d been truthful). This book has also made me wanna read the first book as well. And maybe the third one.
This is the first book I have read by this author and I have to say - I enjoyed it. What I didn't realize when I signed up to read/review this book was that it's part of a series. In any case, I will have to go back and read the first book of this series.
I understand the nuances of OCD disorder (as I myself suffer from them) and this book perfectly portrayed the complexities of the condition. I do have to admit that it was fun to watch Aiden's carefully constructed and controlled life change on a dime - not that he had any say over the matter mind you. But it was beautiful to watch him as he fell in love with his daughter (who wouldn't) ... and then Chelsea as well.
Waverly ... I absolutely adore this little girl! She provided the story with some moments of wit, humor and typically ten year old thinking - you know the one ... those on the cusp of turning from child to teenager.
I cannot wait to read further book by this author. I genuinely enjoyed her writing style.
The Irish Prince by Virginia Nelson is a delicious read. Aiden Kelley has been dubbed the Irish Prince by the press, but Chelsea Houston's worked for the man for several years now, and has had years to build immunity to his handsome charm. She's far too familiar with his need for order and control, but when he's confronted with a ten-year-old daughter he knew nothing about before, she's the one he turns to in order to help him regain his footing.
Aiden's found Chelsea far too intriguing for ages, but he's always been able to keep that under wraps with the structure provided by work. But a trip away from work with the daughter he's trying to get to know lets him see a different side of Chelsea, one that calls even more strongly to him.
Virginia Nelson's The Irish Prince is a charming boss-employee story, sweet and sexy, with an entertaining kid for the ride.
Ms Nelson's writing is engaging and her characters feel real. I definitely look forward to reading more of it!
