She’s in the hospital, so I guess that makes me a crappy guardian angel.

I’ve never before had a problem just keeping my humans alive. But Kerry is different. Everything about her draws me in. My wings are literally burning with desire for her.

I’m tempted to reveal myself to her, even though I know I shouldn’t.

She makes me vulnerable. My vulnerability puts her at risk, and I can’t allow that.

When passion and danger mix, what will happen to Daniel and Kerry? Will they fall from their tightrope balance of denying instincts and satisfying desires? Find out NOW by diving into Wings on Fire.

Here is a Top 10 list from Ann about her likes, dislikes, and oddities:

1. I despise whipped cream. There, I admitted it in writing. Let the ridiculing begin.
2. Even though I have lived as far south as Key Largo, Florida and as far north as Maine, I landed in the middle.
3. If I don't make a conscious effort not to, I will drink nothing but tea morning, noon and night. Hot tea, sweet tea, green tea––I love it all.
4. There doesn't seem to be much in life that is better than coming home to a couple of big dogs who are overjoyed to see me. My other family members usually show significantly less enthusiasm about my return.
5. Singing in my bestest, loudest voice does not make my family put on their happy faces. This includes the big, loving dogs referenced above.
6. Yes, I am aware that bestest is not a word.
7. Dorothy was right. There's no place like home.
8. All of the numerous bottles in my shower must be lined up with their labels facing out. It makes me feel a little like Julia Roberts' mean husband from the movie 'Sleeping with the Enemy,' but I can't seem to control this particular quirk.
9. I love, love, love finding a great bargain.
10. Did I mention that I hate whipped cream? It makes my stomach churn to look at it, touch it, smell it, or even think about it. Great––now I'm thinking about it. Ick!

Wings on Fire is the first book in Ann Omasta’s Falling Trilogy. The premise is creative, and the character development is fantastic. I loved main character, Kerry, and her hot, lusty guardian angel, Daniel. Don’t jump to conclusions, there is nothing untoward about Daniel, he is an ancient soul with a few human desires.

No human is supposed to know about guardian angels let alone meet their own. So, Daniel’s appearance to Kerry could land him in hot water. The characters are revealed to the reader as they discuss Kerry’s past and the vast possibilities of afterlife.

Wings on Fire is an intriguing series hook that left me excited to read the rest of the series.

After attempting to dive into a longer, heartier story, I knew I wasn’t ready. But “Wings on Fire” is a 73-page paranormal romance teaser to a series I could handle. Daniel is a guardian angel who has been watching his charge Kerry all her life. His feelings went from a type of brotherly love to romantic love—yes, a bit taboo, but that doesn’t bother me at all. When an unfortunate incident happens, Daniel reveals himself—wings and all. He opens up to Kerry, which includes all the dos and don’ts of his role as an angel and what would happen if the higher-ups find out if and when he has shared with Kerry.

Of course, Daniel’s best friend and sort of OW find out something was shared; she’s also a better fit because she’s from Daniel’s world. For 73 pages and ending on a cliffhanger, “Wings of Fire” is undoubtedly packed. It almost has that Christopher Reeves and Jayne Seymour movie Somewhere in Time vibe, too, in terms of how Daniel and Kerry communicate.

Is “Wings on Fire” good enough to move on to grab the next book? I believe so.

>Book Review – Falling
> This book is the 1st in the Wings on Fire series and ends in a cliffhanger. Guardian angel, Daniel, reveals himself to his charge, Kerry, while she is recovering in the hospital. Daniel has been watching over Kerry her whole life and is in love with her. Kerry is attracted to Daniel and slowly comes to terms with what he is and how she feels about him. Kerry is warned away from Daniel by a rival angel.
>This story is very short. I would call it a novella or a short story. The romance is cemented, but very little else is accomplished. There is a twist involving Kerry’s injury that gets Kerry to question what is real. A mystery involving a murder and Kerry’s investigation into it is introduced, hopefully to be explored in the next book.
>I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from Romance Authors that Rock. All thoughts and opinions are my own. This book is appropriate for a young adult (18+) audience. I am giving this story 3 stars. There isn’t any erotic romance, nor is there any real danger.

A sweet story about a young woman who meets and falls in love with her guardian angel.
There's not a lot of action in this one although it does hint at a mystery (yet to be fully explored) and a deeper romantic relationship between the heroine and her angel. Unfortunately, you'll need to be willing to commit to the rest of the series to find out about all that.
Fortunately, you don't get left on a cliffhanger and the characters are interesting enough you'll probably be willing to buy the second volume to find out how it all works out.
I wasn't WOWed by this book but it's a fun read and am intrigued enough to want to read more ... which is pretty much what the first book of a series is supposed to accomplish.

The Ultimate Forbidden Love - The story held within the pages of “Wings on Fire” delivered a straight punch to my heart.
This tale doesn't contain the kind of love issues Romeo and Juliet faced nor does it inhibit the struggles that Edward and Bella had to overcome. You see... Daniel has been heaven sent to watch over and protect Kerry Watson. Yes that's right, Daniel is a Guardian Angel.
Over time, Daniel has developed a deep love and a lusting desire for his human. There are rules he knows he must abide by, but his strong compulsion to be with her is becoming uncontrollable.
What will happen to them if he crosses the line.
After finishing this novella I felt extremely emotional and completely devastated. If I would have had to wait for months for the ending of this story to be published, I would have lost my mind.
Thank goodness, the companion book was available for purchase!

I was immediately drawn in by the concept — a love story between a guardian angel and their charge sounded too good to pass up!

It was a short, easy read. Certainly a good read for a bit of afternoon escapism. I really did enjoy the story. I thought it was sweet and I did feel myself caring for the characters.

I would have rated "Falling" higher if the writing was more consistent. There were parts that were really strong and a joy to read which made those weaker spots that could have used a bit more finessing stick out like a sore thumb. The dialogue was a bit stilted and at times, a bit repetitive.

This isn't the sort of story that I would typically reach for — some of the tropes featured aren't my cup of tea — but I think it says a lot that I still want to read the remaining two parts to see what happens next. I look forward to reading the rest and seeing what happens to Daniel and Kerry!

Wow! An amazing read!

I’m gliding on an adrenaline high from this amazing read. Imagine being able to talk to your own personal Guardian Angel. Imagine further that Guardian Angel is in love with you. Imagine once more you are able to talk and get to know your Angel and develop feelings for him/her. This is what happens to Kerry. She gets this chance and just when their passion explodes she awakens. Only is it a dream? What a great buildup and well written story?! It makes the reader want to read the second book to learn if indeed this occurrence was indeed fact or fiction. I immensely enjoyed this book and well done to the author for keeping my attention fully captured until the end. A great plot twist ending. Now I’m going to have to seek book two to find out more about Kerry and Daniel’s story.

Interesting concept of a living, lusting, loving guardian angel who is compelled to reveal himself to the woman he protects. Daniel, the angel, appears ready to suffer any consequences to get closer to Kerry and this first section of the three-part story focuses on Kerry's initial attempts to get to know the angel and the potential obstacles to their romantic involvement.

A lot of questions remain at the end; little, except some isolated events is revealed about Kerry's past and current life and we still don't know how Daniel became an angel. I am curious to read through the last two parts to see if this romance can possibly end well!

Not much action other than conversation, some touches and kissing, and a trifle slow, Falling ends with a surprise and an unresolved plot.

I received a complimentary advance copy of this book from the author; this is my voluntary and honest review.

Kerry's guardian angel reveals himself to her while she's in a hospital after an accident he couldn't save her from as he was distracted by her. Funny plot. I expected her to freak out when he tells her everything he knows about her but she handles it pretty good. Since Daniel is a handsome angel it doesn't take long til Kerry falls for him but she learns fast that a relationship between them will lead to punishment. That scares her a bit as she doesn't want Daniel to get hurt and when another angel tells her to leave him alone you would think that's the end of the story. It's clearly not but the book ends with a cliffhanger so I can't wait to find out if Kerry's guardian angel is real or exists only in her mind.

I was intrigued at first, you know, guardian angel x whatever the main character is. But then... it got boring real quick. And I tried to read further, I read up to chapter seven until I just couldn't do it anymore. For seven whole chapters, it's either the main character flirting with the ML in a hospital or flirting in a house or something. The plot... where is it? Already 40% into the book and... nothing? I know the problem is that their love is forbidden, but it feels so anticlimactic. Maybe I read lots of books that get straight to the point, maybe this is a slow-burn... I don't know, it has a lot of potential, but it's too slow for my liking.

Guardian angel Daniel is tasked with keeping Kerry safe, but he’s drawn to her in forbidden ways. Their growing romance puts them at risk — however, it’s hard to stay grounded when they’re swept up on the wings of burning desire…

Daniel is a guardian angel, assigned to take care of Kerry, but while he is admiring her, a disaster happens and she suffers a terrible accident and ends in the hospital.
No human is supposed to know about guardian angels let alone meet their own. And the fact that Daniel appears to Kerry can put him in trouble, but the attraction he feels for her is stronger than the consequences he may face.
I loved the chemistry between Kerry and Daniel, and I recommend reading this book.

This did not start slow. If you are tired of waiting for the story to pick up, read this. I think it was a little to fast paced, but all-in-all a great story and plot. It also ends in a cliff-hanger, so beware of that. I think Daniel is a great character, but I also recognize that people might think he's a little too forward or lustful (especially when he's supposed to be a guardian angel). I think it just adds to the story.

Oh wow! This book gripped me from the start and wouldn't let go .. there is a cliff hanger ending and trust me you will want the rest of the series. This book is well written, brilliantly clever, thought provoking and engaging. Also guardian angel Daniel is tall, dark, handsome and hot! A definite must read .. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

Fallen part 1 of a 3 part series of Wings On Fire by Ann Omasta is a short well written interesting story. Kerry has a guardian angel Daniel who has been watching over her and has fallen for her. Interesting concept and twist with the guardian angel. Excited to read the second in the series. I received a free copy of this book and have voluntarily choose to review it.

Daniel - Kerry’s guardian angel - shows himself to Kerry when she is in a hospital. Daniel couldn’t prevent the car accident and Kerry was hit, when she looked the other way.
It sounds like a fairytale and maybe it is, but the whole interaction between Daniel and Kerry felt real.
I need to know more. And how about the fire - was it on purpose?

I am giving a 3 star review because so much didnt make sense, and I personally don't like being hijacked into getting an end to a story. The characters could surely use more depth, and there needs to be a proof reader, but all in all, somewhat intriguing. Not enough to make me pay for the end, however.

Being in love with the otherworldly being

Something is too good to be true. That something is beyond five senses. I wonder and suspect if there is something that is not perceptible. The writer beautifully and vividly makes the invisible made sense. It is interesting and insightful.

YA Flavored Fantasy Romance/Investigation

Entertaining, so far gentle, misadventures of an amateur sleuth looking for answers to fire-related death that reeks of arson, despite official findings. The wings belong to her guardian angel who has feelings far beyond protective towards his charge.

It's a good story but it has a cliff hanger which I cannot stand hence the 4 stars, I may revise after reading the rest of the series though. It was a little confusing in the hospital where he reveals himself(the angel) to Kerry as it didn't happen irl but in her head while in a coma?? A little far fetched but still a good story.

Wings on Fire- Part 1: Falling

An interesting premise. I'm a great believer in all things angelic. It's a wonderful plot device. I have a little problem with the idea of negative, prejudiced angels and angels with the same free will as humans. However, I will suspend judgement for awhile. The makings of a good mystery beckon.

How amazing to meet your very own guardian angel. Even if it happened while you were in a coma. I can understand Kerry’s disappointment when she woke up to find Daniel gone. Can’t wait to find out what happens next.

A fun, quick paranormal love story

While I did find the storyline enjoyable, there were times it almost felt rushed. I would have loved this to be a bit more drawn out, in depth. But if you like Angel stories and are looking for a quick read, I think you'll enjoy this.

Excellent

It was hard to put this story down, even harder to have this first story come to an end. Kerry and Daniel's story needs to carry on. Especially when Serafina comes in with a harsh reality for Kerry.
