This is a great book to get yourself started with 3D printing.

I enjoyed reading it and making a list of all the things I need to excel in printing and designing 3D designs.

Check out this book if you are looking to get into 3D printing and are not sure where to start.

An outstanding introduction to the terminology, technologies, tools and services of the 3D printing world. This book will help you understand what are most likely the right paths for you to pursue (using a service? purchasing a machine?), the software choices, and the 3D printer technologies (I recommend mSLA myself :-).

Highly recommended, it will save you days of scouting forums for the correct answers to many either-or choices, and will make you capable of communicating with the correct terminology from the start.
