Easton Livingston has written articles for national magazines, newspapers, online websites, and graphic novels. He decided to take the plunge into self-publishing in 2013 and revamped his brand in 2017.

Easton's books are family-friendly, focusing on fantastic tales for adults which often addresses mature themes (think PG-13). This is important to him and a distinction he vehemently makes.

“I write clean fiction. There's no profanity, sex scenes, or gratuitous gore in my books (there is violence, however). That doesn't mean I don't deal with adult topics and issues. I do. I do not write what is classified as young adult though they can read it and parents won't have to be concerned with what is being written. However, I definitely write for an adult audience.”

Easton writes superheroic, supernatural thriller, action, drama, and suspense tales, weaving all of those elements together. Simplified, speculative fiction. He often describes his work as a cross between the cult television show 4400 and the Netflix's Stranger Things and the television series Fringe .

**REREAD 3rd July 2020**

This is still an unsettling read that sets up the story arc nicely. We should soon find out what the clandestine group are all about! This finishes the rereads I'm doing for this series - onto the rest of the books with my memory refreshed.
Like the previous stories I'm downgrading my review by ½ 🌠 to 3.5 stars.

This is the third book in what the author calls "The Inception Trilogy" and was slightly longer than the previous two books. The novelette comprises two stories told from each protagonist's viewpoint that meld seamlessly into each other to reach the exciting, unexpected conclusion.

The first part of the novelette concerns itself with the story of Jason Meecham, a quiet, smart and bullied boy who is hiding a terrible secret. The second part of the story features Sebastian who is the leader of one of the units of a clandestine group looking for a special artifact. In the finale Jason is left a gift on his doorstep which forever changes his life and is introduced to Sebastian's group. I hope that more of Jason's life is featured in some small way in the future books of the series. I'm waiting with baited breath to explore more of this author's universe.

I can see how The Tapestry, as the author calls the collection of the series books, is an apt name as you can see how all the stories are woven together. I was a little thick and didn't pick up on one of the connections until I had a second read through, so watch out for how the stories interconnect.

I normally don't enjoy books with no proper ending but this story has me intrigued.... The way the first 3 stories linked is interesting; I have to see where this leads.

A story of child abuse. Jason is a bullied and abused ten-year-old. Somebody anonymously leaves a gift at the door to his home in the middle of the night. That gift is extraordinary. Really not much more than an introduction with some bizarre happenings. No resolution. Perhaps that's to be found in a later title.

Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Scary. Tragic. Twisted. Unpredictable. Wonderful characters.
