What does Fred Redford have to lose? Everything.

After the craziest semester ever spent at a magical college, Fred cuts loose just for one night. Everyone’s worried when he passes out and loses his cap. They should be. A Redcap without one is a ticking time bomb of destruction.

Irina Kazynski chose music over magic, leaving Rhode Island as soon as she turned 18. She’d rather be live-streaming electric violin performances and forgetting she’s psychic. But when the Sidhe Queen abducts Fred’s kid brother, she just has to help.

Through dangers untold, Fred and Irina enter the Faerie realm to find his brother before the Queen’s clock strikes thirteen. Can a Redcap slowly losing control and a woman denying her empathic powers take back the stolen child, or will all three be trapped in the Under forever?

The series continues even after the semester ends. What's in store for Tinfoil Hat now that summer's given the packmates extra time? This book contains series plot spoilers, so it's recommended you read in order from this point on.

4 Across Time And Distance Stars

Roundtable Redcap is the sixth book in the Providence Paranormal College series by D. R. Perry.

I have been waiting to get to Fred's book since I started this series. I didn't have any idea who he'd be paired with, until Irina popped up at the Senior Charity last book and turned out to be a Kazinsky. Going Under just put a cherry on top of that big reveal. Thankfully, Perry didn't miss any opportunities to lay it all out. We finally have some real information on the Extramagus behind all of these attacks.

Irina Kazinsky understands the life of hard-knocks, hers just happens to carry a. twist. Losing her parents at such a young age, seeing them sacrifice for their love and beliefs, and having to live every moment on Rhode Island with a case of bad luck and horrible coincidence simply cemented her desire to leave magic out of her life. Thankfully, the empathy that empowers her led her to a lonely Redcap with a heart of pure gold.

Fred Redford doesn't deserve the hard choices he had to make in this book. It hurts my heart to see him manipulated so poorly, I simply wish there was something to save him. His crazy eating powers are entertaining, and his appearance without glamour might be scary but I would love to see it in illustration. He's got that down south gentleman persona down pat. I only hope his tithe doesn't corrupt him, or hurt him further.

I wonder how they will continue face Richard? Now knowing all of the many magical abilities he already possesses, his connection as the Seelie Queen's consort, and his greed for more and more power and oppression?

I hope every book continues to carry little snippets of Ed insights and moments. I think his story is more important than anything that's happened yet.

As the 6th book in this series, you might think it would be a little too formulaic but that is not the case. A lot happens that makes it unique and it looks like it serves as a bridge - between the early books of the series which set the long term story arc up, and the final part which looks to deal with the series-long antagonist finally being dealt with.

It gives us some deep insight into the life of a character, Fred, who has been hanging around the main cast since the very beginning but until now was essentially an extra who would get called upon ti help out once in awhile. Having him take centre stage, and his particular nature, shifts away from the "couple comes together" formula we have seen until now. Simply put their isn't a romance in this one, just him and the other star of the book, Irina, focusing on saving Fred's brother. This time out the focus is the theme of family and looking out for your loved ones. Fred and Irina have a great friendship that develops over the course of the book and it was really fun to watch.

As alluded to earlier, we get a major reveal. Not only do we learn the identity of the Extra-magus that has been the series-long antagonist, but they are actually shown in person.

The other slightly different thing about this instalment was that other than a few five second appearances, the rest of the cast was not involved at all in helping Fred and Irina out - it was essentially all on the two of them, and it definitely allowed the to develop the friendship they did.

I'm more than halfway through the fun ride this series has been and it continues to be just as enjoyable, if not more so, than it has been since the beginning.

Another couldn't-put-it-down read

Cautionary warning here. I read the first five books in this series in a collection so it felt more like one long book, rather than five shorter ones. Now that I have come to book six, it is very apparent that it is best to read these in order. Characters carry over, as well as the over arching story line. If you haven't read the other books first, you will be lost. However, if like me you have read everything that came before, this picks up where the last book left off and takes off like a rocket. Lots of excitement, twists, and turns. Another couldn't-put-it-down read.

Another fantastic installment of Providence Paranormal College and the plot is thickening. I love this series and plan on picking books up signed by the author at one of her events.

Fred might just be one my favourite character to date. There is still a lot more to come, though. I feel as if this is a turning point for the series plot and I'm looking forward to seeing where Perry takes us in the remaining installments.

I still have a few issues keeping the King and Queen realms separate, but that might just be me.

Particular loved all the musical references in this one, that often made me grin from ear to ear. Music magic is awesome. I'm spacing these out and I love how I go a little deeper into the overall story each time I add another.

Highly recommend this series.

More is revealed

Fred and Irina have help from different people as they go to the Under to rescue Ed from the Seelie Queen. Another interesting story with a new romance, and more information about the extramagus is unearthed.

This is a great quest story. It feels very much like a D&D campaigne. This is also the most different take on fae creatures, brownies, pixies, and redcaps in particular, I have ever read. I loved Fred's character and the music was fantastic. Very entertaining.

***THIS BOOK WAS PROVIDED TO NERD GIRL IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW***

Roundtable Redcap by D.R. Perry is Providence Paranormal College Book 6.

It's Redcap Fred Redford turn in the cross-hairs of the extramagus attacking the Tinfoil Hat Pack, and things get off to a rockin' start.

At the Pack's start of summer party, Fred loses his cap. Then his brother is stolen to the Under, in the Seelie Queens Court.

Irina Kazynski chose music over magic years ago when she lost her family. When she finds out what's happened to little Ed Redford, she cannot help but go to the Under with Fred.

And their adventure begins. They face trials on their Quest, including a rapidly deteriorating Redcap, missing his all-important cap.

This is a fast-paced, fun and exciting read, and a wonderful continuation of the Providence Paranormal College Book Series. If you haven't read them, I'd recommend starting at book 1, you'll not be able to put it down until you've caught up!!
