What would you do if you were attacked and carjacked? For many of us it is a worse nightmare scenario. That is the premise of this book. Addison Roberts happened to be alone and vulnerable when a criminal was looking to escape.

From the first pages this book is full of action and suspense. It really gave me a lot to think about. How would I react? What would I do? I think that Kenneth M. Page did a great job at making Addison seem more real. She was not always heroic, she didn't always think on her feet well, she often reacted instead of planned. The most important part is that she didn't give up.

While she is fighting to stay alive, her military husband returns home and finds her missing. He also doesn't give up looking for her. The difference is that he used his training to plan.

The book has great characters and survival tips. The book does contain violence, but it wasn't graphic.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I picked up this book. But, wow! I really loved it. There are so many things that were great about this one.

The characters. I loved the way you get to see into the minds and feelings of each of the characters. It's told through the point of view of each of the main ones and I loved the way it gave you such a great view of everything that was happening, oftentimes through multiple angles.

The book starts out with Eddie. He's a man who is down on his luck and pretty much at the end of his rope. The last thing he comes up with to do to make it so he can survive is to rob a bank. But the bank robbery goes wrong when he ends up killing the guard. The guard dying also makes it so Eddie is desperate and he no longer cares how many bad things he does...bad news for Addison.

Addison is the victim. She just happens to be in the place Eddie determined to leave his getaway car at the wrong time. He takes her and life gets hard for her very fast. I love the way she has the presence of mind to remember a survival course she had taken. I love the strength she shows and the way she knows she will be able to beat Eddie, even when it seems like everything's against her. She also is a woman of great faith, she prays several times to know what to do.

There's also Chase, he's Addison's husband. I love the way, even though things seem terrible, when he prays he knows everything will work out. I also liked that he was willing to be humble enough to let the police treat him as the bad guy in order to make things move faster to find his wife. He also is not willing to sit idly by to let the police find things in their own time. He knows he needs to help and he puts himself in harms way so many times to save her.

The plot of this one sucked me in so fast! I didn't want anything bad to happen to Addison and I couldn't put this one down until I read the whole book. So amazing!

I loved everything about this book, take the time to read it! You won't regret it!

When they put suspense on the cover, they really mean it!
It was so hard to put this down and sleep when I had to.
The characters came alive on the page and made me as a reader root for them and want the outcome to be good for everyone involved. The title does give away that it's going to be six days, but even so, I was fully invested in how it would all come about.

This was a really good book! This is apparently the author’s first. I can’t wait until another comes out. It it was a hard one to put down, pulled you in from the start and kept you in until the end.
He shows things through multiple views and main characters eyes. You see how three different people are feeling and thinking and going through the whole way. Loved it.
I love the way he took a couple more chapters and tied everything up, sometimes I am frustrated with books that end right when the main problem is solved. You often wonder what else happened with this and that. He took care of all of that with the way he ended the book. It looks like the main characters will be in more books to come as well. I will be looking for new books from this author!

I hadn’t read any reviews when I received this book. I typically enjoy suspenseful/kidnapping/crime stories, and this one sounded interesting. A few things were disappointing:
First, the dialogue was awkward. It didn’t feel realistic or natural.
Second, the bad guy started out not very bright, but ends up being super clever, making sound decisions as he’s avoiding capture.
Third, I didn’t feel invested in the characters; very little character development, in my opinion.
The story was clean and I didn’t worry about language, which can be difficult when reading stories involving crime. I did enjoy how the Military and Police force might work together solving a kidnapping.

A good story - I'd recommend it but didn't give more "stars" due to the bumbling bank robber getting smarter than you'd think over the days, the ex-military guy acting a little clueless compared to Addison &, I agree with Chase - he should've shot instead of charged when he meets the robber. And what happened to all those other ex-military guys after the fire?? Lots of description, sometimes too much?

Was too unrealistic for me, but I liked some things I learned. For example: "Adapt and over come." This is a good thing to keep in mind with difficult situations we encounter. I also learned to appreciate how some evil people are not going to quit trying to overtake us and we must persevere in spite of strong desire to give up.

Paper back book I read with 223 pages.

I was interested in seeing how Addison and Chase would be reunited but having the bad guy, Eddie, progress from a bumbling alcoholic to Rambo while being injured and bereft of food is a bit much to swallow.

Good premise, but I hate it when the characters do dumb things that make the situation worse. Addison is an awesome character who I could really believe in. Her hubby and Dad manage to totally screw up the whole situation!

"Down on his luck" the man waited until just moments before the bank closed, then rushed through the doors. He had acquired a gun he held inside his hooded jacket. All went smoothly until as he was leaving, the security guard was going to question him.

He was free but he needed to get rid of the vehicle. He drove to the nearby park and waited. Luck was on his side. A group of women with children were leaving the park. One woman was by herself. As the other women were hassling with getting their children in the car, He grabbed his chance as the single woman began to open her car door.

Addison was terrified. She wished she had paid better attention during survival training.
Th man was unstable.

Chase was eager to get home to his wife after three days of training away from home. They were still in the "honeymoon" part of their marriage. When he arrived it was very strange he wasn't there to greet him. Before long, he knew something was not right!
This is a powerful tale of a woman's bravery, along with other unexpected aid.

It was life and death until the last chapter. Unfortunately it was very close to real life!

This was very well-written, the characters were all very realistic and the background scenes vivid. The Book Cover and Title were well chosen.

I offer a Four and a Half Stars rating.

Quite the drama with Addison getting kidnapped and her six day ordeal to get free. Was holding my breath in a couple of places as she was in danger and wondering how she was going to get out of it. But then when Chase went in with his Father-in-law, Rick, to track down Addison after he had been told by the police and his commanding officer to stay away from the mountain, I thought for sure something bad would happen. Surprised when it was Rick who nearly died and had to be airlifted out to the hospital. And still Chase stayed in the mountains to find Addison. After Eddie killed the bank cop and the other two cops in the jeep, I thought he would have no problems shooting Chase but Chase lucked out and only got a flesh wound from Eddie. Too bad Gunner had to die also. He was a hero in my book for Addison. So great drama with a happy ending, especially since Addison and Chase did so much to give to the families who lost loved ones. And then to agree to be on the special support team for American hostages was a way to give back for all they had gone through.

This book was such a thrilling read, that takes readers on a harrowing journey through danger and desperation.

Eddie is down on his luck, and through a series of events has turned into a dangerous criminal, willing to do whatever it takes to make his escape! When Addison Roberts becomes the target of Eddie's getaway plan she quickly learns he will stop at nothing to evade capture. Lieutenant Chase Roberts, comes home to find his wife missing. He soon uncovers a chilling truth, Addison has been abducted and now it’s a race against time to find her. As the hours turn into days, Chase's determination to locate his wife grows stronger.

Kenneth M. Page skillfully builds tension and keeps readers on the edge of their seats. He writes in a way that easily puts his readers into the shoes of Addison and Chase, feeling their pain, anxieties and fears! With its fast-paced plot and well-drawn characters, Six Days to Live is a thrilling and adrenaline-fueled ride that will leave readers restless!

The story was inconsistent: sometimes it said it had been 2 days, other times it was almost a week…ugh. And the characters! Addison starts out as a damsel in distress who can’t think of what to do next, then suddenly she’s making snares out of almost nothing. The conversations about plans to save her almost did me in. They’re literally making pros and cons lists, taking turns sharing their own plans, saying “I see your point, however we need to consider…” and then once they do have a plan, the next step is “let’s review the rules of engagement”. All of this is taking place while supposedly Addison is exposed, the helicopter is floating in air, and Eddie is just waiting to shoot everyone.
Terrible, inconsistent writing.

This story was a great, fast pace, survival suspense. I found it easy to read and read it in one night because I enjoyed the story line and wanted to see how it would end. I was on the edge my seat wondering what would happen to Addison and whether her husband Chase would find her before Eddie kills again. Due to the nature of this book, there is violence but it is not graphic in any way.

I loved that the author left it open to make more books with these characters-maybe even a series. Highly recommend this clean, suspenseful action book!

I really liked the story until Chase could not shoot the creep who’d was a murderer and a kidnapper. He’s in the military and should know better. And medically after being shot in the torso there’s no place it can go all the way through unless you hit a lung making it had to breath or a vital organ or the gut causing a super infection. But patching him with a band aid isn’t going to work. And then being shot in the leg and he runs to guide the helicopter. It’s true I listen to the book and maybe got some details mixed up but everything seemed to fall apart at that point. Argh I liked the book but can’t get past the medical error.

The book was okay. Honestly, I couldn’t even finish it. I wanted to find out what happens in the story but it just seemed to take a long time for things to happen. I guess I’ll never find out what happened but that’s what I think says a lot about the book. If people can’t even be driven to finish it….The dialogue was slightly awkward? The good thing about this book was that there’s no language so if that’s important to you, it could be worth the time to read since it’s hard to find books that don’t swear in this suspense style genre. This was a short book but every time I picked it up to read I could only get through a few pages before losing desire to keep reading.

As much as I was drawn to the topic, the insight but the book took forever to get to the point..

One thing I hated was: TOO MANY CHAPTERS!!
While mostly, each chapter comprised of 2-4 pages..
It also contains too many unnecessary details!

But overall, the story was actually interesting

Do I recommend it?
Well, if you have that much free time in your hand.. go ahead!

I liked it at first but there were too many stupid moves by all the characters - especially the ones who should know better - that led to unnecessary situations. If it were just once in the book that is one thing but it was over and over just to try to extend the suspense and increase the danger. I thought it was stupid and frustrating. It could have been a much better book.

This book gripped me from the beginning and I stayed up way too late reading it and got up early to read too. I hope he plans on writing more books. I have to admit that suspense is not my favorite genre, but I loved this book! Bank robbery and hostage situation made it a gripping read.

This book reminded me a lot of books I’ve read by Tracy Hunter Abramson. If you like her books then you would probably like this one. I’ve just read so many like it in the past that I’m kind of over it.
