She’s like an angel bringing me peace. It’s been too long since I’ve enjoyed the quietness of my life. When she’s not around, my head explodes and the numbers become louder. More cluttered. Almost too much to handle. It’s fucking maddening.
Dr. Winters thinks I should go in for an evaluation. But I don’t need therapy. I need her. I need to be with her. In her.

Reasons I loved this book:
1. It made me laugh almost continuously.
2. Trevor is the cutest obsessive asshole- psycho.
3. Trevor's obsession with numbers. I am obsessed with numbers too since my main job is statistics.
4. Lucy is twenty-seven and not a virgin. Thank God! And she is funny.
5. Herald and Bill, the pet lobsters hahahaha
6. The fact that Lucy was feeling sorry for the lobsters and she went with Trevor to eat steak instead.
7. The lobsters funeral.
8. The jokes about their age difference - although it is not that tragic. He is 45, she is 27. But he is so insecure about it! ( “I’m not old enough to be called sir. Take it back.” and “I take it back. I didn’t see a grey hair” ).
9. The fact that when Trevor's wife was cheating on him with another woman, he considered it just a phase and not really cheating. Until of course she asked for a divorce.
10. Trevor's ex-wife and her girlfriend. Hilarious!
11. The smoking hot SMUT!

Well, this is my first book by this author but it certainly won't be the last.

This book was hot and funny. A great combination to a late night read.

I really liked how funny the characters are and how this wasn’t insta-love (not that I have a problem with it).

And the sex scenes? Hot.

And Trever reaction when Lucy called him “sir” was one of the best part of the book.
“Muscle. I see fucking muscle. I might be nearing forty-five, but I feel great. I look great. Not a single gray to be seen. I’m tan, smooth skin. My goddamn ex waxes my eyebrows for Christ’s sake, and my dick works better than it did when I was a teenager. How the hell do I look like a sir?”

And Lucy? I was laughing all the time reading her POV, because damn if that girl thoughts aren’t relatable.
“He starts to turn toward me, and I thank God I’m a ninja”

I actually said when I finished Kingston that I wasn't going to read any more of this series since I found these guys to be HUGE a$$holes. Unredeemable a$$holes. But then I noticed that I had already 1-clicked Blackstone when it first came out, so I decided to go ahead and give it a read. I liked it more than Kingston. Trevor was still a bit of an a$$, but he stayed just this side of redeemable. In fact, the only time I thought he crossed the line was after that complete douchewaffle Pearson played him and Lucy. I even didn't mind the ex-wife silliness <-- go figure. I'll admit I am super intrigued by Jax, so I may go back on my earlier proclamation and read his book as well. That said, I don't think I can stomach an entire book of Pearson, so I will stick to my guns and skip that one (lol).

bad bad, no good very bad book.

seriously... y'all got me all hyped with the gimmick of interconnected stories from 4 romance authors and THIS is the shit you decided to lead with. rude as hell.

i probably should have known from the text on the cover or even from the opening 2 pages that this thing was going to be a disaster. but i held out hope that it might be a sexy disaster. kind of like taco bell.

but no. this was about as sexy as rheumatoid arthritis.

please do yourself a favor and just read some free smut on amazon. because at least you'll laugh.

From the moment I saw this series it got my attention. These are 4 books written by 4 different authors in 4 different genres. This is Trevor Blackstone's story. He is wealthy, sexy and one of the founders of the Four Fathers empire.

I love characters like Trevor who are so unique. He is a math prodigy and his mind works in numbers. He is constantly figuring out equations and calculating probabilities. Even though he is highly intelligent, he appears strange to others as he mumbles numbers constantly especially when he is stressed. He and Lucy don't meet under the best circumstance but there is an instant attraction.

Lucy was an interesting character. She was essentially jobless and recently just got out of a bad relationship and she is now "trying to find herself". I thought her character was funny at times and there were bits of humor that complemented this story. There is an age gap with Trevor being in his mid 40's and Lucy in her 20's but honestly you don't really notice and there was no element of taboo. I was a little disappointed because I was expecting a single dad story as the blurb states but while technically true, his son is 20, in college and we don't actually meet him.

The sexual intensity is strong in this book and it kind of starts right away. No slow burn here. There were a few scenes that these characters actually talked and got to know each other but there was A LOT OF SEX in this book. The scenes were HOT and very well done. I did wish that we got more of an emotional connection with these characters and I could have done with one less sex scene.

I loved the fast pace of the book and I was never bored. If you are looking for a short, hot read with characters that have great sexual chemistry then give this book a try.

Fast Pace, Furious Sex and Four Fathers. A winning combination that makes up Trevor Blackstone. He's a genius, a math prodigy, a NUMBERS man.
My memory was sharp. Algorithms, calculating speed, fractions built into fractions. it all came naturally to me. they said I was rare. I thought I was a freak I didn't want this Talent. It means my mind never stops I'm always counting steps, seconds between breaths, the distance between waves

And he along with Eric Pearson, Levi Kingston and Jax wheeler , have made a billion dollar empire of Logistics and real estate in Tampa, Florida-four Fathers.
Being abandoned by his mom on the beach, his mind remains a clutter if numbers and equations, making him an insomniacs hollow bird. The only respite, sounds of ocean waves and feel of sand in his toes. And then in moves Lucy, next door in a crumbling shack house, which Trevor so desperately wants to demolish and rebuild as a beach condo. Only thing is Lucy is this 27 year old funny, sweet, sexy, firecracker who just bulldozes her way in his abandoned heart. Breaking down barriers, giving him peace. And the sex is off the charts hot and fantastic!!!

And there's a hilarious duo of Kiki & Darlene, trying to recruit Lucy.. very funny!!
Short story, I enjoyed reading thoroughly

Blackstone (Four Fathers #1) by J.D. Hollyfield is not exactly the first book by this author that I read, as I read AND LOVED “Text 2 Lovers” (2 Lovers #1) that was co-authored by both K. Webster and J.D. Hollyfield.

So color me surprised by my reaction to Blackstone. Seeing the raving reviews from other reviewers – I assume I am the odd one out here. I apologize upfront for my totally different view but a review & rating needs to be honest.

I loved the storyline – there is no way around that fact. Also the basics as the characters were described were just great. The female lead was a little over the top in a chaotic but still likeable way. And the male lead was just that kind of tortured damaged character that I absolutely love.

So much for the theory.
But than reality hit

The male lead was an asshole of epic proportions (sorry for that word – I usually try not to curse in my reviews but sometimes there is no way around it to bring my point across). I get that most of the book characters I love usually start out at just that – so despite of having that certain feeling in my guts – I went on reading past my 3 chapter rule. Thinking – he will show his redeeming qualities at a certain point. They always do – right? Especially when a plot seems this good … right ?

Unfortunately, this time that assumption was wrong … until the last page he remained just what he was from the beginning. I really had a hard time believing what I was reading.
He really had everything he needed to be the next book boyfriend …

I can not go into the details because of my own spoiler rules but please be assured my opinion about him had nothing to do with him being an alpha male (I love Jodi Ellen Malpas character Jesse Ward and it can not get any more demanding than him). And I also have no issues with the fact that he “obsesses over things” as the blurb calls it (hell I loved Split
by J.B. Salsbury and it can not get any stranger than that) – No it was simply the man he was that was not likeable on top of all of that. Its really hard to describe but I guess this is just one of these book characters that you are either going to love or hate and well seems I fall into the later category

I apologize again for being the odd one out there and as I said I truly loved the plotline and the idea of the characters. But it was just like when a book is being turned into a movie … I think the director choose the wrong actor for me to fill the role …

This story has it all. Hot older rich man falls for a young woman half his age. Add some deep mental health issues we have a winner. He is described so well I vision him to be Josh Duhamel. And the young beauty Julianne Hough. Mr. Blackstone is a numbers man. Numbers and calculation is constantly running in his head. He finds himself calm and quiet when he is with her. She is his solace. But his demanding partner nearly ends his new found love. I enjoyed this story immensely. The sex scenes are hot hot hot!! I can't wait to start book two.

Get ready to fall in love ladies with the Four Fathers Series.

First up is Blackstone by JD Hollyfield and Holy Hell this book was H.A.W.T!!! Ohh goodnesss I didn't know what to expect, but when I seen these four bestselling authors wrote a different story and each had their own book...I was like SIGN ME UP!!!

The authors do mention that the books were designed so you can read them out of order. One book is to be released each week in April!! However, they each interconnect and would be best enjoyed by reading them all. Soo there you go..get ready for your Kindle to spontaneously combust...cuzzz after reading this first book...I think these stories are going to be toooo HAWT for four reads in one month..lol

Sooo Blackstone is about Trevor. He is one of the Four Fathers Empire. He is the numbers guy!! you will fall in love with all his pscho crazy number garb. He also owns several houses on a beachfront palace overlooking the crystal-clear beaches of Tamp Bay Shores. But, there is one more house that he is adamant about buying, then he will own all the houses down this shore.

But there is a young lady that is not ready to close on her house yet. This house was her grandmothers house and she wants to spend a bit more time in the house before she gives it up. She plans on waiting until the end of summer to close on the deal of selling the house. But ohhh lawd this makes Trevor about to blow a gasket and he tries everything that he can think of to try and get her out sooner than she is ready. Nobody tells Trevor NO...NOBODY.

And this is where all the push and pull come in to play. These two were such a hot mess to read about and at times had me laughing my ass off!! There is a "bit" of an age difference between the two and boy does she love to rub it in!!

Well...sorry y'all I am going to end my review here...you just have to go one click this first book and find out if he gets that property ASAP as Trevor wishes or does she draw it out as she wishes!!! lol Get ready for lots of fun banter as well and you know me, I freaking love me some banter!!!

I gave Blackstone 5 iScream Books Stars!!! This was a very quick read and like I said above very HAWT read!! Just loved it!! : )

pretty dull. h was a total loser and nothing in the story makes her unique for H. Even her supposed soothing impact on H's mental anxiety aren't emotionally laid out. the age difference is hardly addressed. They had chemistry but it wasn't off the charts.

4 stars!

This summer is about me and taking for once. And that’s what I did. I took his huge cock and used it hardcore.

If I give a novella four stars, it's because I loved it. The only reason I didn't give it five is because I feel bad gauging novellas on the same scale as a full-length novel. This rule is difficult for me to follow, though, because I love novellas. My ADHD brain loves how quickly everything moves, wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am, let's move on. It loved this one for that reason and more- it was funny, quirky, filthy hot, and also because it had a lot more heart than I expected.

Both main characters were likable. Lucy cracked me up on multiple occasions; she was an immature hot mess, but she knew it. Trevor was a hot mess, but in a completely different way. He struggled with his out-of-control brain, and I related to him because of that. Not only did I want him to finally find peace with Lucy, but I actually felt like he deserved it. He was one of my favorite heroes: a good man with a penchant for rough, filthy sex.

The supporting characters were a different story. I'm fairly angry at one of the fathers, so I'm interested how his story might change my mind. This short story won't change any lives, but it was a very enjoyable way to spend a couple hours. I'm definitely going to read all four stories, likely soon.

“I’m hoping that serious look is because you’re calculating how hard you’re going to fuck my brains out.”
My smile isn’t sweet like hers. It’s predatory. Dangerous. I want nothing more than to fuck her until she loses sight of anything but me and my aching cock. “I’m going to fucking devour you.”

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of the book.

This might be another case of so highly anticipating a book that my expectations were set a bit too high. Not to say that I didn't enjoy Blackstone - I LOVED Trevor and Lucy and I think I may have liked the book more had it been longer (that way they could have been more fleshed out). I'm a sucker for troubled characters and Trevor is the epitome of that, plus he has all the dominant, alpha tendencies that I love. But I found myself getting lost in the rambling way the story was narrated (from both first person POVs), and frustrated that for all the details that we were given it still wasn't enough to feel like I was getting more than a superficial sort of story. That being said, it was a super quick read and there were bits that I really did enjoy so I'm glad I read it and still look forward to reading the rest of this unique series. 3 out of 5 wine glasses.

I loved this book. I mean, i was really into it. The previous books i had read by J.D. Hollyfield was her collaborations with K Webster, and those were romantic comedies and nothing like Blackstone. So this was a delicious surprise that only made me want more. Why was it just a few hundred pages?!?!? I. WANT. MORE!!

It was all sorts of wrongs in all the right places because when it comes to genius prodigy Trevor and slightly off course and unsure of what she wants Lucy, they were perfect for one another. I loved how this time, it was Lucy (the girl) who went after the guy and not the other way around. Let's face it - so often you see the man unabashedly go after the girl and even though she wouldn't admit it out loud, she wants it, but here, Lucy is the one that told Trevor exactly what she wanted and felt no qualms in pushing him off the chair and leaving.

For the first book in this new series, by four different authors, i have to say that it was an absolute slam dunk. It was just interesting enough for you to want to read more about the others in this company, but not yet enough for you to dismiss Trevor's story. Needless to say that i now have to catch up on J.D. Hollyfield's back list, because apparently i've been missing out on quite a few things.

***5 ‘Lobsters’ Stars***

Hands down, I absolutely enjoyed Blackstone.
It was simply a fun, quick read that just so happened to be down and dirty smexy and had a good dose of heart thrown into the mix with a dash of drama to keep me on my toes.

I adored Trevor and Lucy. Trevor is...interesting. He’s determined, almost to the point of having tunnel vision in certain aspects of his life, Alpha AF smexy and yet he has this...not softer side per se, but lighter side that, when it comes out to play, is all kinds of golden. Lucy is a spitfire. She most definitely has moxie. This girl has sass and isn’t afraid to throw down when necessary, but she has a quirk or two and a beautiful heart.

Their romance is quick and dirty. Let’s not mince words here, and the dirty is all KINDS of intense and yet they find a way to connect beyond the physical. It was fun and sweet to watch as they realized that they were most definitely more to each other than they could have ever dreamed of. There was a bit of a wrench tossed into the mix, and that particular “wrench” pissed me off, but I loved how everything worked out in the end.

This was my first book by the author where she wasn’t a co-author and I loved it. I was hooked from the start and couldn’t put it down. It is quick and dirty, but the quick and dirty was done well, the angst isn’t OTT and the romance was sweet! As for the other Fathers, we get a glimpse of them all and I cannot wait to get my hands on them *BSEG*!

Trevor Blackstone is great with numbers. He can’t seem to get them out of his head until he sees his new neighbor Lucy. She is just supposed to sell her grandmother’s house to him and be gone. Once he meets her though, Trevor’s dominant personality takes over and he knows that he’s going to have her. He just needs to her out of his system and get this deal done. But once isn’t enough and Trevor starts calculating every, single way he can keep her.

“A part of me feels like walking over there and thanking him for setting me straight – or lopsided, as the case may be, since I’m pretty sure he dislocated my hip with his dick. I’m also seriously considering asking him to do it again. You know, to fuck my hip back in place. And then I realize I’m insane.”

Holy Moly!!! For a short, dirty read, this story really packed a punch! There was just something about Trevor Blackstone that pulled me in almost immediately and when Lucy and he connected for the first time, it was like sparks flew up and combusted on the spot. I firmly believe the less talking and more action that took place, the quicker these two became wrapped up into each other's world. For a novella, this story had everything I wanted and I seriously would read a series about these guys because the characters are so addictive. They are all successful, dominant men and there's just something deadly sexy about their driven personalities. I'm ready to bend over backwards and into all sorts of impossible positions for these dudes...and I don't even do yoga.

I’m addicted to all of the Four Fathers. Mostly Trevor but I wouldn’t kick Eric, Levi or Jax out of bed. Hmmm…Eric, Levi and Jaxi in bed….now there’s a thought.

This is the first book in the Four Fathers series written by various authors, this one is by J.D. Hollyfield. Trevor Blackstone is 45 years old, he’s one of four partners of a successful company in Tampa Bay, Florida called Four Fathers Freight. The other three partners are ; Levi Kingston, Mateo Bonilla (Renner’s Rules by K. Webster), and Eric Pearson. Trevor and Eric have been best friends since college, Eric was born into a very rich family but unfortunately Trevor wasn’t. Numbers are Trevor’s thing, his brain is constantly doing calculations and patterns. He’s a math prodigy and when he was a child his mother told him he was retarded and left him on a beach. Lucy is 27 years old and she’s just left her cheating boyfriend in Minnesota to spend the summer in Florida. Her beloved grandma died and she’ll be spending three months in her beachfront house until she sells it at the end of the summer. Trevor owns all the beachfront property on Flanders Bay except one decrepit house. The owner died before signing the the sale papers and now the executor of her estate refuses to sell until the end of summer. He always gets what he wants so he knocks on her door and isn’t expecting the beauty who answers it. I almost stopped reading when Trevor was talking about his Aston Martin purring like a kitten in heat. Trevor was kinda dorky with the whole wearing sandals with an expensive suit thing.

HOLY FREAKING MOLY! I still can't believe that this was my first J.D. Hollyfield story ever, but now that I've gotten my hands on something from her I am HOOKED!

Blackstone was a quick and sexy read that I devoured in a little over an hour. Once I began this one there was no way I was putting it down until the very end. This book was the definition of perfection and oh my goodness was it a hot and steamy tale. Trevor and Lucy's story and unexpected romance was simply amazing and I couldn't get enough of these two. If there is one thing I would change it would have to be the length because I wanted MORE. Luckily I am sure we will see them in the other Four Fathers books!

I strongly recommend this read if you want a quick read that will have you all hot and bothered by the end! Can't wait to check out the rest of the series soon...

What an excellent way to start this series! I enjoyed everything about this story. Once again, we have a quick and sexy age gap romance that isn't really fluff. There's a story here. Could it be explored more? Sure. Did it need to be? No. It had the right amount of timeline to make this treat believable and enjoyable. Well done!

Blackstone is book #1 of the Four Fathers series whose books are part of an interesting concept--4 books by 4 different authors, written in 4 different genres that all have a common link in the 4 male main characters who know each other and happen to be fathers. Each book will be released in April, all a week apart, and Blackstone introduces us to all 4 of the men, 2 of them only briefly, while the other 2, Eric and Trevor, get more page time, Trevor as the hero and Eric as his best friend and business partner.

It was well written, well edited, super sexy and had likable characters, for the most part. And although both MC's seemed a bit shallow at first, I found myself wanting to know more about them while having a major soft spot in my heart for Trevor because of his issues, which were interesting yet heartbreaking.

Some of the dialogue at the beginning was borderline cheesy and I worried for a few seconds that it would turn me off, but as the story progressed, the characters quickly got more 'real' and I ended up not wanting to put it down. I liked meeting the other men of the series, even though we find out early on that Eric is a complete dick. K. Webster definitely has her work cut out for her to redeem him.

Overall, I enjoyed this quick, sexy read, and I plan to continue with the rest of the series!

Trevor Blackstone is one sexy alfa male, demanding, dominant, meticulous and controlling. He is a single father, has 44 years old, he is divorced and he is a math prodigy. He doesn't take no for an answer, and everything he wants, he gets, no matter what or how. And now he wants the property next door.

Lucy made some very pore choices in her life, and now she is trying to find herself and put some direction in her life. She is so headstrong, feisty and doesn't take any bullshit from "Numbers". She is 27 years old and she is the exact opposite of Trevor. But until the end of the book, she is going to be everything he needs.

As I said, it was a great reading. It broke my heart for Trevor as a little child, but at the end, he gets his Happy End. I devoured this book, I truly enjoyed the storyline and characters.

A short, funny,  dirty and intense story!
