It was only one night. One night, and I was sure I’d never see her again.
Fast forward six months and I’m staring into those same eyes. Only this time Delilah is my boss’s daughter. But the real kicker…she’s very much pregnant.
Now my only goal is to stand by her, protect her, and make sure my new family is taken care of.
But there’s a certain danger lurking in the shadows, threatening everything I hold dear.
I won’t rest until my family is safe. I won’t stop until I’ve annihilated every threat.
Delilah is mine. The child she’s carrying is mine…and I’ll be damned if anyone takes them away from me.
A Midwesterner and self-proclaimed nerd, Evan has been an avid reader most of her life, but five years ago got bit by the writing bug, and it quickly became her addiction, passion and therapy. When the voices in her head give it a rest, she can always be found with her e-reader in her hand. Some of her favorites include, Shayla Black, Jaci Burton, Madeline Sheehan and Jamie Mcguire. Evan finds a lot of her inspiration in music, so if you see her wearing her headphones you know she means business and is in the zone.
During the day Evan works for a large homecare agency and at night she’s superwoman. She’s a wife to Jim and a mom to Ethan and Evan, a cook, a tutor, a friend and a writer. How does she do it? She’ll never tell.
Security Breach was the first book in the Rogue Security and Investigation series by Evan Grace. It was my first book by the author.
Reece Meyers and Delilah Mackenzie had a one night stand when he came to town for business. They didn’t exchange information and expected to never to see each other again. Fast forward six months when Reece started a new job with a former Special Forces buddy and ran into a pregnant Delilah, who happened to be the daughter of his friend/boss.
I enjoyed the characters and the storyline. It had a suspenseful vibe, which kept me intrigued. The drama was a little anti climatic and I desired a different outcome, but the relationship development between Reece and Delilah was entertaining.
Grace also set the stage for the rest of the series by including the secondary cast of characters as central to the plot. We were able to get a glimpse into their personalities (all hot alpha males) as well as the security investigative services they offered. The series has promise for more bantering fun with suspenseful plots. Erik and Shayla are up next in False Security.
Blurb: It was only one night. One night, and I was sure I’d never see her again.

No rating....OK so I read until 50% then skimmed to the end.....
I know I am in the minority here BUT as much as I couldn't wait to read this I can't help but to feel....disappointed:(
The storyline seemed to have some promise BUT the execution of it for me fell completely FLAT! I didn't feel like there was any "build-up" any connection between Reece and Delilah....that's my feelings. I would have loved a bit more push and pull and honestly both characters for me were just plain boring. I honestly felt that as much as I love an older guy and younger girl, I truly felt Delilah was "immature" and I hated the fact that she seemed to be more of the initiator if that makes sense. Oh and don't get me started on Reece...he was truly not my typical type of alpha male and his LAME excuse for just up and leaving in the first place....
I felt like everything just fell into place nice and neat and the outside source of drama was just so OTT "stupid" in my opinion......Ughhhhh I just couldn't get on board with anything. A train wreck for me this time around.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Reece and Delilah meet in a bar, have a one night stand, and then run into each other after six months. Reece has just started a new job working for his friend and former military buddy, Jack. Delilah is the office manager for her dad's (Jack) security firm and she is six months pregnant.
Good story, easy to read with no cheating or other woman. The secondary characters are likable. I look forward to reading more books by this author.
2.5 Stars This book had great reviews, and had several things going for it, but it moved so SLOWLY that I was bored throughout. The book blurb lays out Delilah and Reece’s story, and picks up with the reconnection. Pretty quickly after; she’s attacked which kicks in the “danger lurking” part of the plot. Reece has some hang ups about starting a relationship; he’s a 34yr-old loner & she’s young. (21)
Let’s start with the good; the writing and editing is solid, REALLY good for a freebie. The safety police will approve! The romance is sweet and totally safe, both are celibate during the 6-month separation. There’s no meddling OW or any real drama.
The problem for me was that nothing really happens. The couple takes a while to get together, but there isn’t major issues/discussions/build up. The “danger” doesn’t manifest until the last quarter, and you will see what is going on WAY before any character does. The plot is pages of mundane everyday stuff (like her getting and recovering from mono) broken up by the occasional call from her mom, or sex.
Bottom Line- Plenty of readers liked this, but I found it too slow to really enjoy. I kept putting it down, and had to force myself to finish, but if you’re looking for a sweet, safe, angst drama free read… give it a try. It’s free in the kindle store.
We all love our alpha men, and Evan is great at giving them to us. In this story we have Reece who is starting a new position in a new city after years in the service. His old friend Jack is now his boss and he is looking forward to working with him and his crew....but a new job is not the only changes about to happen in his life. When Jack's office manager and daughter Delilah brings him his HR paperwork to be filled out they are both in for a surprise.
This story kept my attention from page one. Both Reece and Delilah are likable characters and they do have some issues to resolve and get past. There is also a bit of suspense throughout the story. They may have done things out of order, but I enjoyed watching these two fall in love. Looking forward to the next book in the series
The thoughts that go through Reece's mind is those of a caring man who knows when to pick his battles, "...trying very hard not to tell Delilah what to do, not after the morning I took her coffee from her and I thought she was going to maim me." I really enjoyed the heck out of this book, Reece was so kind and loving and you got to know some of the other men that Reece works with and it just makes you eager to get their stories as well.
A one night stand turned into a surprise pregnancy. They never expected to see each other again. Certainly not at their place of work.
Sweet-ish short read. Loved Delilah’s relationship with her best friend Brandon. And Reece’s relationship with Delilah’s father cracked me up.
Personally didn’t care for Delilah or Reece, especially together. Bothered me how childish Delilah acted at certain times. And she wondered why Reece had reservations on them due to their 13 year difference.
Who knew that a one night stand six months ago would come back to Reece on his first day of his new job! And the woman happens to be the boss' daughter! And more shocker, she's pregnant! This is such a great story and I hope we will get to read more about Reece and Delilah throughout this new series.
To say that Reece was shock when he meet the HR person at his new job and it happens to be Delilah from their one night stand over 6 months ago. And Delilah happens to be around 6 months pregnant. Reece can definitely do the math and know that he's going to be father. Delilah is shocked to see Reece especially since he just left the morning after 6 months ago without any message! Delilah is determined that she will take care of the baby without Reece's help. Reece is determine to step up and help Delilah with the baby in any way he can. He first must make sure her father, his boss and former brother of arms, doesn't kill him.
An attack on Delilah has the men of the security firm in search mode to find out who is trying to harm her. Reece decides he will protect the mother of his child until they find out who wants to hurt Delilah. While protecting Delilah, Reece and Delilah realize that they are still attracted to each other but neither is sure about what the other wants so they try to keep in platonic.
I love how Reece cares for and about Delilah and shows her the love she needs without her realizing that she needed it. I love how they slowly works towards acknowledging their true feelings for each other and working on being a couple and expectant parents. It is such a romantic story and a mystery to solve of who wants to hurt Delilah and it was a little crazy on the who and why!
Six months ago Reece and Delilah spent one night together, when Delilah woke up Reece was gone. Now Delilah is pregnant and has the support of the Rogue Security team and her father, what she never expected was the new hire to be Reece.
Reece never expected to see Delilah again but now she is in front of him at his new job and pregnant. Reece knows the baby is his and when Delilah finds herself in danger, Reece moves her in. Reece doesn't regret much in life but he does regret not exploring the more with Delilah when he slept with her, she was younger and he didn't handle it well but now he has a second chance. Will they figure out who is determined to hurt Delilah before it is too late?
This was fantastic. Loved the fact that it is a slow burn romance with Reece and Delilah. Thought every aspect of this was fantastic. Pure entertainment.
I read this because someone from a group recommended it. I’m prob going to go block them because I don’t want any more of their recommendations tbh.
Lots of grammatical issues.
Writing just wasn’t good in general. Felt like a subpar wattpad story, not an actual book.
Not a single character was likable. The female mc was spineless and whiney. His parents completely insulted her while she’s pregnant in her own home… she forgives them instantly. Her mom abandons her, treats her like shit, tells her to abort her baby for months, “all is just fine love you, mom” ???? No
I'm pretty sure Evan Grace could make the phone book an interesting read. I've read a bunch of her books now, all with different types of heroes and heroines and unique storylines and she never disappoints!
Security Breach is the start of a new series and I'm very excited for the rest of the books. This book is a standalone romance with no cliffhanger and a very HEA.
Reece is recently retired from active duty and not sure what to do with his life. His old army buddy offers him a new job and some direction for the future and Reece gratefully accepts. Little did he know that his first day on the job, would be the first day of the rest of his life.
When Reece goes to sign the HR documents to make his new job official, he's shocked to see his one night stand sitting across the desk from him. Not just shocked to see her at all, but especially shocked since she's about six months pregnant and well....let's just say he can do math. To add to the bombshells dropped on Reece's plate, Delilah, the mother of his baby, is the daughter of his army buddy and new boss. It's sounds a little soap opera-y when I'm summarizing, but it's not. I can't do it justice. It's extremely well-written, filled with emotions, action, suspense, sweetness and steam.
It's not a who's the daddy/forbidden romance, it's a sweet romance of two people going about things a bit backwards, but ending up at a happy ending none-the-less.
Reece immediately steps into the role of protector for both Delilah and the baby and things become even more dire when it appears that Delilah has a stalker. When they're forced under one roof until the threat is neutralized, Delilah and Reece get to know each other with their clothes on and tip toe along the line between being platonic co-parents and being a full-on couple. What's best for the baby? What's best for them? What will their future look like once they are free from the dangerous stalker?
Great romance with humour, heat, action and suspense. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
I have been a fan of this author for a little while now but uhh yeah this is definitely my favorite by her to date and one hell of a way to start this series. Sexy. Suspenseful. Intense. Explosive. Wow y'all Security Breach was absolutely amazing and absolute perfection in every single way.
From the first page, these two hooked me. Delilah was an amazing heroine... sweet, innocent, fierce, and stronger than she gave herself credit for. And Reese was a swoony hero... smart, protective, alpha, and that sweet, sweet heart.
There's more than just hearts on the line this time...
Delilah and Reese had one night that was everything until it wasn't...now it's been months and their paths are crossing again. This time, everything has changed and now it's about keeping her safe. Threats are coming in and danger is lurking in the shadows... can Reese keep her safe?
Explosive chemistry. Undeniable passion. Unforgettable emotions. Reese and Delilah fiercely stole my heart and cannot wait to see them again in the future.
This is a great start of the new series, ROGUE SECURITY & INVESTIGATION by Evan Grace and I liked it a lot :) I'm excited to see who's next for the second book already... I'm hoping it's Erik & Shayla's story ;)
I liked Reece & Delilah's chemistry and their love developing was a slow burn... they started as a one night stand, with Reece leaving the morning after, leaving no note, nothing, and Delilah even knowing it was just a one night stand, casual sex with no strings attached, was disappointed... but Reece did in fact leave something after all... a bun in the oven :)
Forward six months later, with Reece going to work for Delilah's dad, Jack's company, finding out Delilah's having his baby; a series of things happen to Delilah that Reece's caveman and father to be protective instincts flare and he takes action to protect Delilah and his unborn child <3
These two go through a lot of situations, separate and together... it's a roller-coaster filled with a little bit of everything you want to read in a good story, so go read this, you won't regret it :)
Evan Grace has the magic touch!!! I swear her words has a way of drawing you in so that you become so immersed and invested in the storyline that you forget that these people and the situations that they are going through are not real. It feels like these characters literally come to life before your eyes and take up residence in your heart!!
Reece and Delilah's story captivated me from beginning to end. One night of shared passion leaves Delilah with more than just memories. Oh baby does it!! Now she is pregnant, and planning on raising her child alone. That is until Reece shows up to his new job not realizing his one night stand is not only his bosses daughter, but pregnant with his child!!
I loved the fact that when Reece found out about the pregnancy he didn't blame her, he was intent on being a part of his child's life. When Delilah's life is put in danger Reece is determined to protect not only the life of his unborn child, but the woman he is falling in love with.
I absolutely can't wait to read more about the sexy, alpha men of Rogue Security and Investigation!!!
5 SEXY REECE STARS!! I am so excited for this series and what a great start with Security Breach. This story is fantastic with all the feels and suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat. Reece is so sexy and sweet, wow I need him. Delilah is beautiful, sweet and strong that has had a terrible childhood with her mom. Reece and Delilah have one heck of a story to tell you. Evan Grace is becoming one of my favorite go to authors to read. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
You guys need to check out this new series. I've always been a fan of Evan Grace's books and I absolutely loved reading this new book from her. When Reece starts a new job he never expected to see his one night stand again at his place of employment. And the cherry on top is she's pregnant with his baby. Delilah never knew what to expect after a one night stand. She certainly didn't expect to get pregnant or see the baby's father again. But when she is attacked Reece will do anything to keep her safe. I highly recommend that everyone check out this new series. You will love it.
I have been a huge fan of Evan Grace for some time now and this story was just wow! It blew me away and I found that I could not put it down at any point. Yes people, my family went without me making dinner that night! I loved Reece a lot. Then watching him and Delilah navigate through the shock and subsequent baby time was amazing. There were a lot of ups and downs in this story but I cannot not see that happen after everything. And when Grace writes a twisted villain, oh boy does she ever. My mind was blown as to the level of twistedness that happened! Overall, this is an epic start to this series and I am I so looking forward to more. There is amazing passion and chemistry that flows throughout this story and how much they mesh. Some may say that Delilah and Reece rolled into it too easily, but I found it just shows the compatibility that people have to fall into a relationship. I would highly recommend this read in a heartbeat!
This book was exciting right from the beginning when Reece is ready to start his new job working for his buddy Jack at Rogue Security when in walks his one night stand Delilah. Delilah is Jacks daughter that he didn’t know Jack had who he left without a note the next morning. The new job is gonna be awkward enough but when Delilah gets attacked on her way home it changes everything. I can’t say too much more without giving away the plot but the cast of characters and the things that go on will leave you glued to the story. Reece and Delilah are great characters and I can’t wait to read about some of the others in Stake Out the next one
I love when a story immediately grabs you and sucks you in. This is definitely one of those. I couldn't put it down until I finished the last page.
It was supposed to be one night, but one night turns into a surprise that will last a lifetime.
Delilah and Reece instantly click. Conversation flows and sparks fly. Passion and heat pour through them as they share a night of passion that neither one could forget. Six months later, Reece looks up to see that the manager in his new office is none other than the woman he can't get off his mind...and his bosses daughter...and she's pregnant. The attraction is still alive and he has no idea what to do next. When danger arises and Delilah and his child are threatened, Reece decides to take action. They're both his and no one will stand in the way of that.
Evan Grace has done it again. This was simply fantastic. The development of the story line made this story exciting, intriguing, and surprising. Ever page of this story made me want to continue reading. As the first book in a new series this is phenomenal debut. Ever page drew me into the story further and every intense reaction between the main characters made this sexy and an immediate favorite work of the author. Thank you for allowing me to read and write about this book. I loved Reece and Delilah.
Holy smokes! What the hell did I just read?!?!? This book WOW!!!
Reece oh lawrd this man! *fanning self* damn he is fine. I love everything about him. He’s is hot and sincere! Great qualities in a man!
Delilah is a woman who will show you just how strong a woman could be with having so much to go thru! She doesn’t let it get to her too bad but it’s unavoidable and she does an amazing job with her situation she finds herself in. She’s an amazing woman! And one lucky b!tch to have Reece!!!!
Loved it! I’m so glad I stumbled onto Evans books. She’s a fabulous writer and I look forward to each of her books I read! Can’t wait for the next book in the series.
Evan Grace delivers another amazing read that sucks you in from the first page and holds you till the end. Loads of steam, plenty of action and loaded with suspense, this is one book you will want to read and reread. Reece and Delilah are brilliant leading characters that are perfect for each other, we get some great dialogue between them, also there are many secondary characters that I for one look forward to reading their stories.
I love all of Evan's books. Security Breach was amazing. This is the 1st book in Rogue Security series. Reece and Deliah bring out the best in each other. Evans words bring you in and its hard to put down your kindle. Great book highly recommended.
I love all of Evan Graces books, this is the first book in a new series. Delilah and Reece have a one night stand, Delilah wakes up alone in a hotel room. So imagine both their surprise when Reece starts a new job and quickly realises that his bosses daughter is not only the girl he left in a hotel room, but she has a surprise of her own. The chemistry between these two is electric. Will these two get together or will a threat keep them apart. I promise you will not be disappointed with this read. I can't wait to read the second book.
what a way to start a new series!! This was so good!! Alpha filled and sassy females!! One night leads to so much more and a total shock!! Wanna knock some people out well one person..lol..and so does everyone else! Great story of getting to know someone and really falling in love! Some great action and suspense with a whole lot of who the heck is it!!! Love the autograph other works but this is so different and I love to see authors going new places!!
Delilah and Reece!!! 😍😍 I loved their story! It was heart stopping, toe curling, keep you on the edge of your seat amazing! So much happens in this story that I can't put in to words without giving to much away. All I will say is this, it is absolutely a must read! Evan Grace has absolutely done it again! Another fabulous read amongst her many others! I can't wait to read more!
I voluntarily agreed to read this book and this is my honest review!
