Kinsley will do anything to forget she may have killed someone.
No one knows more than Kinsley Lane that nothing good happens when the dead walk free. A year ago, she was possessed by a ghost and her life forever changed.
Luckily, on this All Hallows’ Eve, the witches of Harker Heights have offered her protection from the dead spirits who will roam free. Mac Harker is appointed her guardian and everything goes smoothly, until a mysterious guy arrives on the grounds. One only Kinsley can see.
Mac is determined to protect her from Charming, leaving Kinsley torn between wanting his protection and the strong pull to a guy who won’t even tell her his real name. She must make a choice; the one she makes leads to the biggest heartbreak, and greatest love she’s ever known.
"I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book so I could give an honest review."
I like this book a lot. I did feel like it was shy of 5 stars because of the I felt their was a lot going on that it slightly confused me. The characters I loved and I could tell the author was detailed in his/her mind when it came to creating them. Kinsley had a lot going on with her pill popping and being possessed by a ghost seemingly causing an accident. Mac the man of every woman's wet dream seems almost overly perfect and too good to be true and then their is Charming who seems to be attached to Kinsley at every turn. I love the magic element of the story it gave it a fun twist for me. This book has witches, ghosts and a ghostly element of surprise that you never see coming.
I recommend this book to anyone that loves romance, witches, a damsel in distress, and HOT guys.
This one started off well but I lost interest towards the end. I liked the main character Kinsley but I didn't really like the story line too much. I don't know what was missing but something was. I like the idea that she can be processed but the story dragged a little.
This was like a combination of the adult version of 'Alice in Wonderland' and 'Me before you', but then with magic and zombies. Very interesting mix.
Even though I knew the mysterious 'Charming' was Kai from the beginning, I was not annoyed by it, because it still kept me guessing 'how is this going to end?'
It was interesting to read and kept me flipping those pages, but I was a bit disappointed by the ending of the book. After all that romance I wanted them to find a way to wake him up from his coma, which didn't happen. He died. So that left me a bit sad.

I absolutely LOVED this story!! I actually read it in the anthology it was in "Wicked Legends:Second Edition" but I couldn't wait to review this, this story must get out there and I will be re-reading it this weekend just in case they shortened the story since there is only so much room in an anthology. The main character Kinsley is deeply flawed and beats herself up over an incident that happened a year ago that she simply cannot let go because of her guilt. This is a love story, a paranormal story and a mystery all rolled into one and the author does is flawlessly. This story really touched me and at the end I was crying, it really touched my heart. This is the first story by this author that I've read and one of the reasons I so love to read anthologies because you discover new talent that I probably wouldn't have read otherwise and I hate to think that I would've missed this story, it will be on my TBRA (To be read again) folder on my laptop. Read this story you will thank me and the very talented author.
I was not impressed with this book. It is the third book in the shattered worlds limited box set. It was VERY predictable, the characters were one dimensional and there was too much gratuitous sex. Touch magic? The only reason I give this book more than one star is because of the premise of the dead walking on Halloween.
Good read. While not a complex plot, I enjoyed the rhythm and romantic nature of the story. You know the ending seems unfinished to me. Not sure if intentional, but still a fun read. It also gave me a few more myths for my witch knowledge.
Unlikeable heroine and a lot of loose ends made this book just 'blah'. Worst ending ever. Great plot in theory (minus the ending) but it just wasn't executed right.
Interesting world concept. Beautiful characters. Cried for half an hour after I finished it. Not the ending I hoped for, but it was the ending it needed.
I stayed up late on a Friday night to finish this book in one setting, so I'm rather sleep deprived as I write this review. Ms. Larry has written Kinsley as an extremely flawed character, one who is damaged and has weaknesses. It's not to say that's she's a weak character, far from it. She's done some things that she's not proud of, and in her efforts to assuage her guilt, she's fallen into a trap so many of us do, and it's heart breaking to watch...er...read as she deals with it. There's a lot going on in this novel that spans one night. I was concerned at first with the fact that it does only span one night, so how in the world would we get all that the blurb promises? I won't spoil anything, but I will tell you that she delivers all that is promised and more. Again, I won't spoil anything, but I will say I bawled. I cried ugly tears a few times during my first read-through of this book. I say first because I can guarantee this is one of my favorite books and I'll be reading it over and over.
I will be honest i am not the biggest fan of paranormal books they usually have to be something that grabs my attention from the opening paragraph, but this book took a while to grab my attention but when it did i ended up reading the whole book on a miserable sunday afternoon.
We meet Kinsley Lane whose life changed forever when she was possessed by a ghost. On Hollow's Eve all the witches of Harker Heights offer her protection.
We meet Mac Harker who is appointed to be Kinsley's guardian to be her watcher and make sure that everything goes well. Everything is going well for Mac and Kinsley until a mysterious fella comes onto the scene that only Kinsley can see.
Kinsley feels such a strong pull towards this mysterious man but in the course of one night she must she she choose out of the two men who are there for her.
Who will she choose you will have to wait and see......
Every enjoyable. Although I figured out one of the plot points before the author probably intended it was still very enjoyable and the ending jerked at my heartstrings. Wish the outcome was different but every well written nonetheless.
Such a great read. I really enjoyed the plot of this book. There were parts I never saw coming and I really enjoyed the writing style. This was the first book I have read from this author and it won't be the last.
This book was goodly written but It didn't really catch my attention I mean it was good but not good enough to give it 5 stars not even 4 and to be honest I found it kind of boring.
