West Virginia isn’t finished with our team yet, or so it seems. A Rogue Wolf is on the loose but he isn’t the only supernatural hunter on the loose. With pressure mounting, the team will have to prioritise who to hunt in which order. Hopefully they’ll catch their assailant before their wanted list gets any longer.
Let’s kick this review off with a warning… be prepared for trouble ahead. Lexi and Reece’s romance is going to take a turn for the worse, so if you’re anything like me, you might need to make time to binge read in the hopes that they sort things out quickly. *crosses fingers* I should probably try not to grumble about the fact that Reece is not my favourite person by the time this book ends, so instead I’m going to try and focus on the ‘good’ stuff. Hunting monsters doesn’t allow for a lot of downtime for the shifter squad, so it was really good to see them settling down together and celebrating Thanksgiving. It’s also arguably my favourite scene of the series to date. You’ll have to read it to find out why but I will say that it’s quite funny and had me giggling, which is always nice. I really love seeing the team strengthening the bonds between them and it’s super sweet how they all see each other as family. We do see Reece beginning to pull away from the group in the latter half of the book but it is his own choice, so while it’s a shame, I have absolutely no sympathy for him whatsoever. I wanted to keep this review light but it’s a little difficult given everything that happens. By the time the case of the missing hiker is wrapped up, I’m really starting to worry for Lexi’s emotional well-being. She’s been through a lot in a short amount of time and it doesn’t look like it’s going to get any easier for her in the near future. It’s a really good thing that this series is complete as I would be absolutely dying while waiting for the next book in the series to be released. So go read and enjoy.Oh and before I forget, we also learn what command Lust gave Reece in this book. I was super happy to read that scene.
