Owning Sarah

Rate this book
It’s been a month since Sarah Marshall was kidnapped and held at knifepoint by her ex-fiancé. But Jesse Colter and Adam Sinclair, her two loving Doms, know that there is an even deadlier threat still out there—Ryder Malone.
He blames both Sarah and Jesse for sending him to prison eight years ago for attempted rape, and he’s determined to make them pay. So, he begins a systematic campaign of terror and intimidation against them. But the danger he poses doesn’t end there.
Set against the deepening love and commitment between Sarah, Jesse, and Adam, Owning Sarah is more than just a sexy, sensual, BDSM love story. It is a harrowing race against time for Jesse, Adam, and a team of former SEALs to stop one of the biggest arms-for-drugs deals in US history. "Owning Sarah" is book two of the Alpha Chronicles by Julie Shelton. "Owning Sarah" continues the blossoming romance between Jesse Colter, Adam Sinclair and Sarah Marshall. Sarah Marshall thought her life would go back to normal after the terrible ordeal with her ex-fiance. However, for Sarah, another more dangerous threat was still lurking. Jesse Colter, Adam Sinclair and his friend's race to find the person who is a threat, to Sarah. The readers of "Owning Sarah" will continue to follow Jesse Colter and Adam Sinclair in their race to eliminate the threat and keep Sarah safe. Also, the readers of "Owning Sarah" will enjoy the ending of this book.

"Owning Sarah" is a fantastic sequence to Loving Sarah. I enjoyed the way Julie Shelton incorporated her twists and turns in the plot of "Owning Sarah". I love Julie Shelton portrayal of her characters and the way they interact with each other. The description of the settings of "Owning Sarah" ensure that I continue to read until the ending of this book. "Owning Sarah" was well written and researched by Julie Shelton.

The readers of "Owning Sarah" will learn that revenge and hatred will destroy you and everyone around you. Also, "Owning Sarah" highlights the difference between abuse and power exchange in BDMS relationship and the importance of trust.

If you enjoy erotic romantic suspense, I will recommend this book.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

This story carries on from the first one, a few weeks after Sarah had been held at knife point by her crazy ex-fiancé.

I loved this one just as much as the first. The sex scenes were just as hot and even though there were many I didn't get bored of them as the author kept creating new scenes for the Dom's and submissive to play out.

The suspense part of this story was even better than it was in the first book I think. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see when the bad guys would strike and there was a lot more action this time around.

The love between the 3 main characters grew even more in this story and I really enjoyed the ending as it rounded up the story nicely which for me a is a must in my books.

The author has created a sexy, hot BDSM story that also has heart-stopping suspense mixed in, which for me is one of my favourite genres. I would 100% recommend this book and look forward to reading more from this author.

The action doesn't stop in this book. Jesse, Sarah and Adam as well as Team Fury must deal with neo Nazi skinheads, gun runners, sex traffickers, a crazy stalker, kidnapping, murder and attempted murder of close friends all while trying to take their D/s menage relationship to the next level. Sarah sometimes chafes at the two guys overprotective demeanors but she trusts them implicitly knowing they will always protect her. As they delve deeper into the lifestyle, Sarah finally realizes what true submission is and how much giving her submission to Adam and Jessie means to them. A collaring ceremony and wedding set the threesome on the path to their HEA.

Another exciting Alpha Vs book

The second book of the series includes the same great characters, plenty of suspense, a thrilling story line, and some very hot kink. Sarah, Jessie, and Adam's story really pulls you in and their relationship and affection for each other is wonderful to read. I'm going straight to the final book and looking forward to the beginning of Passion Lake which I hope is included.

Book 2 of this series starts out with a heart-pounding beginning, and it's a continuation of Sarah's story with Jesse and Adam. More suspense and romance ensue, and I enjoyed this book better, with a lot of action and emotional turmoil. Looking forward to book 3 to see the conclusion.

The second book in the series.

I enjoyed the action scenes in the book and the Collaring ceremony and what happens after that. I was laughing so hard.

Just like the previous book it could have done with less sex scene. If half were cut the pacing of the book would have been better.

Giving.

This ménage just keeps on giving! I can’t believe that I have read a so deeply descriptive book on BDSM. Never thought it could be such a turn on. This second book in the series just made me want more! I don’t care how old you get J.S. You will always “ have it”!!

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Owning Sarah by Julie Shelton is the sequel to Loving Sarah. Loving Sarah was a great book, but I think Ms. Shelton has outdone herself with Owning Sarah. All the things you loved about the first book are here but Owning Sarah has so much more – more mystery, more love and more passion!
Owning Sarah picks up right where Loving Sarah ended. Sarah, Jesse and Adam are preparing for their upcoming wedding but there is a threat from Sarah’s past that has returned to wreak havoc on the lovers.

I had read (and loved) Loving Sarah, so I was already aware of how wonderful Ms. Shelton’s characters were. But Owning Sarah took the relationship to another level and I fell even deeper in love with Adam and Jesse. The relationship between Sarah, Jesse and Adam is so filled with love and passion I found myself jealous. Ms. Shelton did a remarkable job of creating a trio whose love for each other was so obvious it jumped off the pages and into my heart.

All the characters in Loving Sarah were fascinating and we are introduced to so many people that easily deserve their own book. I loved the interaction between Sarah and her girlfriends. It showed a different side of Sarah that we have previously seen. We also were able to see the individual relationship Sarah has with each of her men which contributed to the emotional depth I felt in Owning Sarah.

Even the additional suspense storyline is well written and kept me turning the pages. I was completely pulled into the story and as a result, I could feel each character’s fear and sorrow as they dealt with some tough situations. But I also felt their love and joy. The collaring ceremony was emotionally packed and displayed a D/s relationship at its finest.

As to the sex between Sarah and her men, well let’s just say it is so hot you’re going to need the air conditioning on when you read it. Owning Sarah includes probably the hottest sex scene I have ever had the pleasure of reading. I’m still fanning myself off from the scene at the club. Wow! Ms. Shelton has the ability to describe a bedroom (or any other room for that matter) scene so realistically that you feel like a voyeur.

Please be aware that Owning Sarah contains a lot of hot and heavy BDSM scenes. This is definitely a book for adults only. But if you are into intense ménage then this is the book for you.

Owning Sarah has everything – great characters, hot sex, and an intriguing storyline. You don’t need to have read the first book to enjoy Owning Sarah. But reading Loving Sarah will help you better understand how precious the love is that Sarah and her men have for each other. You’ll also get the chance to enjoy two books and not just one.

**This is a series review of "Loving Sarah" and "Owning Sarah"**

I had to take a very long time to think about what I was going to write about these two books. I wanted to make sure that I had all my ducks in a row because I had very strong feelings about them.

First of all, they were EXTREMELY well written. Julie Shelton is a great wordsmith. She includes a lot of detail, but it's not overwhelming. Her dialogue is very realistic, and her characters are fleshed out perfectly. You feel like you're reading about real people having real conversations.

Sarah has not had an easy go of it. Her past haunts her at nearly every turn. The only real pleasant memories that she has are about Jesse. She's loved him for years, but circumstances kept them apart. Now, she's returned to her hometown to take care of some family business. You can guess who is now the sheriff.
Jesse never forgot Sarah. She has been the shining light in his life for years, but he knew that he would never be good enough for her, so he let her go. Now, years later after having a very difficult time of his own, he's determined to prove that he's a new man and worthy of her.

Adam is Jesse's best friend in the world. They served togeter as SEALS overseas, and they've got a bond that can never be broken. They're like brothers. Adam finds himself in love with Sarah by proxy. Jesse told him so much about her that he's got very deep feelings for her even though they've never met.

Ok. That's as far as I'm going. You know I never give spoilers. Now, for the nitty gritty. Sarah, Jesse, and Adam have explosive chemistry. I think they may have burned my Kindle. The sex? WOW! The BDSM was pretty hard core. It was more intense than most BDSM stories that I've read. That's not a bad thing, but it did take me awhile to get used to. This went way beyond any blindfolded flogging that a lot of people have read. It's not really for the squeamish, but it's no less interesting or hot.

My only real issue here is the (what I consider anyway) unusual amount of violence. A lot of bad things happen to Sarah (and the other characters as well) from the very beginning. Some of these things are quite brutal. Several times, I had to put the Kindle down and walk away. Not because I was disgusted, but because I was nervous. I found myself being very afraid of what was coming next. This book is classified as an erotic BDSM romance, but I would say that it's more of an action mystery with a lot of really great sex thrown in.

All in all, I thought this was a very good series. As I said before, the writing is pitch perfect. Ms Shelton weaves an excellent tale. I'm very impressed. It's not for the faint of heart, but I highly recommend these books.

Smouldering Hot Sex Times Two! Part Two!

I loved the first book in this series Loving Sarah. Where we were introduced to the amazing characters
And the incredible journey they went on to get to this the second book in the series. And how Ms. Shelton built the world in which these amazing people live.

Owning Sarah picks up where Loving Sarah left off. And as hot as the first book was...this next book tops the cake! Ms. Shelton has brought us to the edge of our seats again with the steamy, smouldering hot blaze that is the relationship between our protagonists Sarah and her two sexy Dom's Jesse and Adam. Add in the gripping terror of drug cartels, arms dealers, and human sex slave trafficking and you end up with a gripping tale of love, mystery, and espionage sure to tantalize any reader.

In this book Sarah is sure of her role in the love triangle that is hers with Jesse and Adam. And has fully adapted to her role in the D/s poly-amorous relationship. But she also is learning and coming into her role as a friend and public defender.
As she feels over come and suffocated from her men's constant protection. She also has the threat hanging over her head with Ryder Malone, the man she and Jesse sent to jail for attempting to rape her when she was 18. He's out and looking for revenge on them. With his new set of friends he sets the trap to catch Sarah and plans to sell her to a human slave trafficker. Jesse and Adam have to call on the help of their former team mates to bring down the arms/drug ring and bring home Sarah safely.

I highly recommend Julie Shelton's books to anyone who loves menege, D/s, and HEA's! Her grasp of the complicated dimension of a healthy multi partner relationship is spot on and shows the readers the beauty of submission. 5 Stars for an exceptional book!

Holy moley, I wish I'd skipped this one

If you liked the first book, this is a must read. The relationship I'd developed further, more characters introduced, and the conflict from the first book is expanded upon.
There are a few reasons I can't give more than three stars. The first is the phrase holy moley. About a quarter way in, the author starts using waaaay too much colloquial slang to create personalities, especially for the heroine. It is so ridiculously overdone, I had to stop reading a few times, I was getting so annoyed. Holy moley gradually becomes overwhelming. The heroine thinks it about once every two paragraphs. I know this sounds really nitpicky, but it truly is awful, and that phrase alone dropped my rating a star. Incredibly irritating, and almost turned the book into a DNF.
Another reason I dropped the rating is the disservice to the heroines career. Her career felt like it was treated like a hobby. I don't know how to explain this concisely here, but it is really neglected, and used only as a tool to advance the conflict, as long as it didn't interfere with the heroes being controlling alphas who seem to want a full time slave.
The last reason I'll bring up seems a little silly due to the genre, but there is too much time devoted to sex scenes. A couple of raunchy, well described scenes are fun to read, but in this book, they took away from the plot too much.
All in all, not a bad book, but neither is it one I can recommend unless you liked the first book. Seriously though, why does she need to think holy moley every time anything remotely sexual happens? Was there a word minimum the author was trying to reach?

While building a deepening love and committed Dom/sub relationship with Sarah, Jesse and Adam are also
trying to keep her safe. So when Sarah is in need of rescue again they call upon their former Seal team to stop
the biggest arms for drugs deal in U.S. history while saving Sarah before she is lost to them forever.

Review: I really enjoyed this book. I read and reviewed the first book "Loving Sarah" and was excited to read the
continued story of these three lovers. The book is full of action and excitement with lots of sexy scenes. The love
between the main characters is evident though out the book and I am so glad that I got to share their continuing journey
into happiness. These are great male characters that try to balance doing everything they can to keep Sarah safe and everything they can to make her happy. The bond between each man and Sarah is beautiful. I am loving this series.
I easily recommend this book (and the whole series) as a great read.

Owning Sarah --- by Julie Shelton
This book is the second half of Loving Sarah, -continuation-, I loved this book, it doesn't skip a beat you don't miss out on anything from the first book to this second one. The characters continue to develop and the relationship grows stronger between the three of them. It is heavily filled with sexual content same as the first book. The D/s lifestyle remains foremost and sometimes overbearing throughout the entire book. However unlike the first book it's more of a loving feeling. I delighted in the writing of the collaring Ceremony, that was extremely beautiful and very well thought out, clearly a case of loving embrace and support, excellent example in my opinion of how the lifestyle actually is, though most do not ever see it.
I enjoyed how the threat to Sarah and the guys as well was handled. I would have perhaps liked more intrigue and dangerous threatening encounters and a bit less of the sexual content, it was almost over done on that aspect.. kind of like a sexual over load if you will. When Sarah got her chance to shine it brought such a smile to my face I had to read that entire scene like 5 times, made me so very giddy that she got her moment, seeing what she got the chance to do I was very pleased, it allowed her to show them she was more than they thought she was.
Excellent read same as the first half. I hope to see some more stories about some of the others, and I will look for more books from this author to read as well.

When I first opened this on my Kindle, I expected it to be more like the first book in the series, Loving Sarah. By the time I finished, I knew it was much more intense. If you liked Taken and Taken 2 with Liam Neeson, this is for you!

In Owning Sarah, our heroine is not longer a spring-fresh sub in need of careful breaking in. She knows more about her place in the home. Broadening her horizons outside of the house is part of the new adventure. Enter bad guy. Ryder Malone wasn’t caught at the end of the first book. Now, he has a whole new set of friends to play with and a different agenda for taking revenge on Sarah.

I liked the action and suspense of the story just as much as I did the romance. The BDSM scenes were hot. I have to say this makes the list of things I would put in my permanent library. For a recommendation, this is very adult and is therefore not suitable for the younger crowd. Be careful when taking this steamy, 4 star gem to work! This one is perfect for snuggling down in the bed for a late night read and maybe inspiration for a little more!

Owning Sarah is the sequel to Loving Sarah by Julie Shelton. It continues the story of Sarah, Jesse and Adam and their D/s ménage a trois (MFM) relationship. More of the SEAL team is introduced, a visit to a BDSM club occurs and so does a BDSM “marriage”. By the end of the book another villain or two have been defeated and the threesome is more in love than ever. Explicit BDSM scenes are found through the book but occur in keeping with the story line.

Julie Shelton is an excellent writer who tells this story in a way that is believable even if it is not a lifestyle I would embrace personally.

Sarah, Jesse, and Adam are in a relationship that is completely off the charts. No matter the escalating threats against Sarah, nothing stops their passion or domination for their beautiful sub. It is a sex fest so intense I find that it nearly obliterates what is actually a very interesting and suspenseful plot. The characters are hot, no doubt about that, but they are also intelligent and exciting, and I would love to see more of that in their storyline.
