What do you do when your husband, an ex-NFL running back, is trying to have you murdered? You get kidnapped, run, dance in questionable strip clubs, and stay under the radar while trying to survive. That is exactly the path that I took, only in the end, it led me to a motorcycle club in the Dakotas and to a family I never knew I had. I don’t know if they can keep me safe or sane, especially after meeting their VP - Rage. I do know it’s time to stop running, and to start living again.
*Meant for adult readers, strong language, violence, and sexual situations Dancing with Danger was the first book published in Christine Michelle’s Aces High MC World on March 4, 2018. As of April 11, 2022, a new, extended epilogue has been added to the book. Dancing with Danger also received a new cover. This is a full-length, standalone novel in the Aces High MC - Dakotas Series.
Aces High MC - Dakotas (Series titles available now): 1 - Dancing with Danger (Charlie and Rage) 2 - Whiskey Tango Foxtrot (Liza and Tango) 3 - The Restart and the Remedy (Myra and Rabbit)
Christine Michelle runs on coffee and giggles as she writes her angst-fueled romance stories (motorcycle club, rockstar, paranormal, college, & other contemporary as well as women's fiction and marriage in trouble novels). She is a mom to four humans (2 girls, 2 boys – all grown now). When she's not writing books, she enjoys reading, drawing, hiking, or feeding her soul with live music at concerts. Christine is a traveler and has lived all over the USA (and other parts of the world). She currently lives in Rapid City, South Dakota with her two fur babies.
This book had a lot going on that kept turning into nothing. There’s so many threads going on in this book it’s just a knotted up Mess. Despite being under the clubs protection she gets attacked by club whores, then one of the old Ladies and then by one of the bikers almost choke her to Death. They put Charlie in a body bag to transport her to the morgue via a van. Uhmmm… why didn’t they just fake that part You can’t see through a black body bag. How dumb are these guys.Clever killer sister says thanks guys! She and her man run the van off the road causing Charlie to be injured again. Poor Charlie has been through so much. I had to crack up every time someone said "Sorry, Charlie" though, it reminds me of the Starkist Tuna commercial, lol.
Charlie has been on the run since she found out about a hit on her. The man who helped knew her father. But let me tell you for running scared Charlie had sass and told it how it is to anyone who got her angry. Rage well he had some mishaps and saw that side of Charlie a couple of times.
The story pulled me in, not sure how I missed this series considering I own all of the other Aces High MC series which was so good. Now onto Book 2.
A book you can't put down, it never stops. From the very beginning there is action. Charlie a woman on the run, guided by an angel she never knew she had. She discovers her lost family. They will do anything to protect her. A princess in the MC world. They will prove how far they will go. All that is going on a love story develops between Charlie and the VP. Typical guy who does stupid things and will have to prove himself to this woman to win her. I hope there will be more books from this author. I enjoyed her writing style.
No idea how but this was both boring and crazy in equal measure. All sorts of crazy plots, lost family members, people dead then not dead just madness. It read like someone throwing lots of twists at a book to see what sticks.
It also dragged. No idea why I finished it, but I did! So maybe I’ll save you some time
Dancing With Danger is my first book by Christine Michelle, and I enjoyed it quite a bit.
Summary: Charlie Cooper is trying to stay under the radar. In the past year, she’s been doing what she needs to, to survive. That means she’s been kidnapped, discovered a murder plot instigated by her ex-NFL husband, run, and danced in seedy strip clubs to make ends meet. Unfortunately, all of that has been for naught when the motorcycle club she hoped to buy protection from unintentionally outs her with a background check. If Charlie thought her life was unbelievably chaotic before, it’s nothing after getting involved with the Aces High Dakota Chapter MC. She’s suddenly surrounded by a family she never knew she had with long-buried memories of her beloved father surfacing. And her blazing hot chemistry with the club’s VP, Rage, is a whole other story in itself. Charlie isn’t sure she can trust them to keep her safe or sane, but she has decided to stop running, and that it’s time to start living again. Hopefully, her judgement is sound, and she has a new, reliable family to have her back.
************************* Dancing With Danger was a quick, entertaining read. The blurb caught my attention and the sample pulled me into the story. I really liked Charlie as soon as we met her. She was a strong heroine, and showed courage during everything she went through. She was also pretty laid-back, knew her own limits, and was non-judgemental. I really liked that she didn't complain overly much about the guys's preferred lifestyle. Rage was sweet and sexy and just the type of alpha I tend to like. He definitely made some mistakes, but he didn't go further than need-be, and was adequately and pathetically sorry. Lol. I do wish we could have gotten something from his POV, though. I don't feel as though I got to know him as well as I would have liked. I liked Charlie and Rage as a couple, though. They had instant chemistry, but it didn't make the story all about sex. Charlie was smart in her approach to a possible new relationship, considering what she'd already experienced with a man, and Rage didn't push or force her in any way. There wasn't insta-anything, and their relationship progressed naturally for the situation. When intimacy did finally factor in, it still didn't overshadow the storyline or become a focus in anyway. It just served to make Charlie and Rage closer. In the end, this was a story that was hard to quit. The storyline was entertaining, and there was a shameless amount of drama every other second. I like a lot of the characters, including Iceman, Rabbit, Spinner, Ghost, and Steel. I really hope to see one or more of them get their own stories. The family-esque unit the guys provided for Charlie was sweet, protective, and supportive. This is an MC story so not everything about the club was on the up and up, but they also didn't rape, pillage, and strike fear in everyone they came into contact with. I'm interested to see where these characters might go in future, so I'm happy to read on as well as check out the other chapters and all they have going on. ♡
🫶🏼 HEA: Yes ✖️ Multiple POVs: No, everything is told from FMC POV 🤥 Cheating: No
This is NOT my first book by this author.
There is something about Christine Michelle that can bring out all of my emotions and this one is no different. The ONLY reason this book didn't get a 5⭐️ was due to the typos. I know my "Star rating" says 5 but my "Overall View" is 4.75/5 and I round up.
I absolutely LOVED THIS BOOK! The amount of twists and turns in this book was simply crazy and so many of them, you didn't see coming. I loved the dynamic of all of the main MC characters and Charlie and Rabbit had me cracking up over and over again.
As with most MC books, the men are very protective and I was pleasantly rewarded with the protectiveness that Charlie received from these men. She was in a very bad spot and they already were going to help her but once they realized how important she was the the club their loyalty never steered and I never had to question if they ever had her back, which is exactly how it should be.
Rage.....I had a like/frustrated opinion about Rage. Did he mess up? YES! Did he rectify it? I am not so sure. I think he should have done a lot more that he did to earn back her trust but I also saw Charlie's reasoning as to why she finally relented.
Shameless, I cried almost anytime that man had an interaction with Charlie...he was everything she needed in her life. I loved that she had a Shameless to help her through everything!! Rabbit was there as her bestie and her protector but Shameless was the second father that Charlie desperately needed.
I read this book in one sitting, I couldn't put it down and this book became one of my new comfort reads. MC books have my heart and I simply loved Charlie's story♥️
I read this book last. And I’m glad I did. I really didn’t like it because there was simply too much of the same thing going on for nearly 70% of the book. The FMC kept getting attacked or threatened or made to believe the MMC was cheating on her so many times that I just go bored! After the 75% mark the story FINALLY gets to the murder attempts and breaking down her family’s story’s as to how her life turned so suddenly on her after her father died, that honestly you can skip the whole first two thirds of the book and still not have missed anything.
We never see the cheating murdering husband get his comeuppance. We never see the club brother who attacked the FMC and the other brother who betrayed the club because of him get their comeuppance either. We do eventually see the OW/half sister get hers but sadly so did their mother who had already had a hard life. So that was not satisfying either way.
As for this couple, they were cute together but so much other stuff was happening that there really isn’t a lot of falling in love here. They are instantly attracted to each other and forced proximity did the rest. We don’t even get the FMC making a full trusting commitment to the MMC in the HEA. Only a half assed one by being his old lady only. And then it’s over. Truthfully, it was more a HFN kind of ending. If it wasn’t because we see them in all the other books as husband and wife as well as old man and old lady I would be annoyed with this book.
I do want more of this series and several of the side characters but not because of this book. This book bored and annoyed me. Good luck.
This book was not a bad read at all. It had a good plot and was not all sex. Almost passed it by when I read the only review, but please don't pass up a good read . I really don't know what the other person was reading but this was good,so they didn't kill and torture the way a lot of book MC's do but the were a MC. An looking forward to this authors SHE Series.
The h is escaping from a hit put on her by her husband a year ago to cash in on life insurance policies. He is cheating on her. Running and hiding brings her to the H and the MC that her beloved father once belonged to. Thinking she is an orphan with no family left, the h finds that she belongs to the MC family. Most of the story is uncovering past events that factor into present danger. Some drama with minor OW characters but nothing ongoing .
I absolutely loved this book! The story so very well written and I would definitely read more! This is the very first book from Christine and I adore her writing..Rage and Charlie are perfect together..Lots of twist and turns and full of suspense.Even though it seems like cheating it's not...Just READ the book! I will be impatiently waiting for more!!!
A chunk of the book involves mean girl drama and manufactured angst with the guys repeatedly telling the heroine how wonderful she is. It's over the top and a little ridiculous, but it did keep my attention.
Made it to about 55% and finally gave up. The drama was WAY to much. Always something stupid and unnecessary happening. Daily drama. Too much and not good.
This book was a plotted mess with too many coincidences, unlikely events and head scratching moments. Not to mention instalove, unanswered questions, unbelievable explanations, and the most incompetent group of men to ever try and keep someone safe.
I was looking for an MC book with grit and a real MC environment but these guys spend all their time in their state of the art clubhouse with no visible means of how they earn the money to afford the sweet setup they have. Except for a small part of the beginning, motorcycles aren't even mentioned, every woman in the book except for Charlie is pretty much a terrible, dumb person that can't read the room. Other than instalust, I did not get what Charlie saw in Rage at all.
Charlie spends the whole book in her head telling this story. It was repetitive.
Really done brilliantly. This is my third book by this author and I've really loved them all. I like the way she tells the story. You get reeled in and lost in the words and world you are reading about. This one was so action packed, twists, and a strong female in Charlie. I like that it's concentrated on the storyline and plot and NOT all sex scenes. I mean I like sex in a book but not to be every other page. This book definitely had everything I want out of a good read and MC genre book. I seriously highly recommend this book and author. Good job Christine!! Thanks Jamie Nibarger Ellis
This was such a great read - a new to me author, I always read the sample of a book of an author I haven't read before - some go on the TBR list and a few get purchased immediately as the story has already got me in deep - this was one of those books. Now I have to wait to be able to buy more. Charlie's story was great she is a strong woman, willing to do whatever it takes to survive. The way things happened to bring her back to her dad' MC family was great. How she dealt with learning what had happenec in her family showed her strength and resiliance.
I first read this book awhile ago and in readiness for The Restart and the Remedy thought I’d reread it to familiarise myself with the Dakota crew once again. Charlie is a strong woman ‘running’ from her husband who is trying to get her killed and is taken in by the Aces High MC Dakota Chapter. Whilst Rage will never be one of my favourite Christine Michelle heroes the heroine Charlie as well as the supporting members (Rabbit, Iceman etc) made this a wonderful journey courtesy of a great plot. Christine Michelle is fast becoming one of my favourite authors.
This was really entertaining and I loved the characters and plot. This is not my first by this author, and it sounded very familiar to me. I don’t know if this is a similar storyline to any of her other series, but it had a Deja vu vibe to it.
No spoilers other than she’s on the run from her husband who has put a hit out on her for the insurance. It gets interesting as the story develops so I enjoyed it.
I really liked this and I may add more to my library. This author has a number of MC books that I hope will be good too.
For me this was such a great read, I could not put the book down. Stayed up till 4:00 am reading. It has action and suspense. Charlie is on the run from a husband who wants her dead. Rage is the VP to Aces High MC (SD). Charlie finds her way to Aces High MC. The story that ensues is so riveting, with lots of twists and turns. From a New Fan... Pam James.
Wow poor Charlie found out that her husband had hired out someone to kill her, so she made her way to the Aces High MC by dancing in strip clubs under the radar, until an old classmate spotted her and she ended up at Aces High strip club. They sadly unknowingly did a background check and it was either she move on or the club protects. Quite a few interesting turns of events throughout. Happy reading.
I've read so many "Biker" books that they've all started to sound the same...but not this one. At first I was hesitant but the book quickly drew me in. I loved the twists that I couldn't see coming. The writing was well done and easy to follow. I cannot wait to read more from this author. This was my first book by her! I want to order hard copies :)
Unfortunately, I read the other princess first, which was so strong as was the series that it's hard to compare it to this book. I wish I could give 1/2 stars. The storyline is always comprehensive and keeps you enthralled so that you can't put the book down. The characters were appealing and down to earth, perfect for each other. Things seemed a little easier in this book, but it was still an exciting read. Read in order if you can.
This was my first book that I've read of hers and couldn't put it down from the first page. There was a lot of action and wow Charlie and Rage had some kind of chemistry from the very beginning, Rage is one hot biker and Charlie and him burned the sheets, after they finally got together. loved this book and how bikers stick together and help out family members.
Another great book from CM. Can't wait for the follow on books. Finally an mc series with great plots and characters!!! Definitely an author I'm going to be following!
Great writing style. You read those first few pages and you're hooked so get ready to start n not move till you've finished the book!
