Unfortunately I requested this ARC not knowing it was book 6 of a series. I did try to read a few times but couldn't connect with it :(

Couldn't really follow the timeline

I started rereading the series because I love it. And got so excited to see a new 4th book. But I had a very hard time on this last book understanding and relating to the new 4th book.
The book started with telling you that our hero's have been given 2yrs of peace. So then how are the still in high school. The timelines just did not flow for me nor add up . how are Sean and Maggie still teenagers after 2yrs passing . they should be 20. Then for the last chapter to say a few month. Like I said hard to follow

The fourth book, Defenders, came many years after the original three (3). It is a totally different storyline than the rest of the series (originally meant to be a trilogy, I believe). I find the storyline to be attempting a very dramatic and earth-shattering tale but Maggie and Eran are still trying to go to school… as teenagers? And SPOILERS,

now that we know that no one can really die, it loses it’s appeal. There is no permanency or purpose is killing characters just to bring them back to life… Every. Time. After all is said and done… they return to high school to finish their senior year. But they are married. And the whole government knows about them. Nope. I don’t buy it.

The third book in this, now series, ended the trilogy perfectly. It took me nearly to two weeks to get through this book. I stopped to read other books because it couldn’t hold my attention. Maggie and Eran’s story ended with Reckoning. I seriously doubt that I’ll be reading the next installment.

I wanted to finish the saga, but I felt like there were a lot of missing plot holes. A lot that I had to brush aside and not get hung up on so I could just finish the story.
