Isola is finally back in Dragca, but nothing is the same when she is hunted and betrayed by everyone she meets. With one of her dragon guards fighting for his life, time is running out.
When the seers come to her aid, lies and blood are their price. With two battles on her hands, one for their freedom and one for her dragon guards, Isola has a lot to fight for....and a lot to lose.
The dragon guard curse must be broken, for fire has finally fallen for ice...but is death the final price?
G. Bailey is a USA Today bestselling author of books that are filled with everything from dragons to pirates. Plus, fantasy worlds and breath-taking adventures. Oh, and some swoon-worthy men that no girl could forget. G. Bailey is from the very rainy U.K. where she lives with her husband, two children and three cheeky dogs.
A very good book. Usually I get bored if the book is a bit slow, they first quarter of the book is very slow, but the characters and story is so likable that it more then makes up for this. the Last quater of the book is pack to the brim with revelations some we already knew other a bit more of a surprise.
There are also the threads from the other books that are picked up towards the end and big things to come from the series. Now with more of the things in place I am hoping for more action and Dragons in the next book.
Everything comes with a price when it comes to knowledge and magic. What is Isola willing to pay to save her Dragon guards from the curse, and earn the respect and support of her people to reclaim her throne. However Dragca might not be the only world she need to save.
I really like the way things are coming together in this series I like all the characters and the roles they play in the series. I all hoping that they will be a bit more action in the next couple of books as we come to the finally. G Bailey is a mistress of cliffhanger ending that make me want to get the next book now.
I love these characters and Wings of Spirit delivers some great drama and action. I hated the ending, if I'm being completely honest. Mostly because I need the gang back together. I hate when they are separated and I'm already dreading what's going to happen in the next book.
I don't want it to happen.. but I have a feeling that it will.
So in this book, Isola definitely faces some challenges. I'm also pretty sure that she found a loophole to the cure. Maybe even found the actual cure? Other than that, I'm coming to terms with Thorne. He's definitely growing on me since his betrayal. It's like he snuck into my heart without any warning. However, Elias is still my favorite and probably will be forever.
Again, I hate the ending and I need everyone to be back together.
Well damn. This started off slow. And I was a tad bored with it. Because there was a lot of forest walking. And sly glances and glares. But eventually it picked up and got much better.
Issy and the boys end up at a town where they find help for Kor. He is in super rough shape for the first part of this book. It’s touchy for awhile. They find a place with help but eventually they’re run off by the bad guys again.
They eventually find the seers and they walk right into another group of people who don’t trust them. Issy is made to endure trials for their support.
All the whole she’s getting closer to the guys and trying her damn hardest not to be drawn to Thorne. But obviously that’s not working.
This is definitely my favorite book so far since much more happened in this book that really kept me intrigued. But that cliffhanger though. I hate cliffhangers and that one was a doozy. 🙄
Here's my problem... it was too long between books 2 and 3, so I got the storyline enough to read book 3, but I didn't know the characters anymore. I totally don't remember why she was mad at one of the guys.
I actually didn't even read the epilogue. I just wasn't invested anymore. I won't read the next book.
I am a huge G. Bailey fan, I enjoy all of her books and how her devious mind works. But I will say that I believe that the Protected by Dragons series is one of my favorites of hers. First, I love dragons. Second, I love a good paranormal RH. And Third, its G. Bailey. Wings of Spirit has Isola fighting to save Korbin from the poison going through his body. But with the help of her guys, Melody and even Bee Isola will stop at nothing to achieve this goal. The Seers offer aide but at a price, which she will pay. As always Gem writes a vivid image of Dragca, and you get caught up in the characters and theirs struggles. Their relationships and how they build at just the right pace. And as always Gem likes to throw in twists and turns, leaving me going where did that come from? Or Ah, now it makes sense. Isola and her guys are becoming closer, more of a unit. The dynamic between them all is growing stronger as well as the chemistry for me. Overall this is a great third installment that keeps your interest in the series, and moves things along at a good pace. The ending is a cliffhanger that did leave me saying, "Oh Hell No!! But it is a good lead and storyline for book four.
Anything with Dragons in and I'm guaranteed to love it. I think Dragons are my spirit animal and I pretty much devour anything Dragon like I can. That's why I decided to pick the first book in this series up in the first place because, duh, Dragons! Well, I've obviously been enjoying this series if I'm now reading and reviewing the third book, and I really am enjoying it. It's got plenty of action, romance and mystery.
It's a well written series and the pace isn't too fast that we're hurtling along and missing parts of the story. This third book in the series picks up pretty much where book 2 left off. Isola and the gang need to find the seers and see if they're on their side or the side of the dark. The relationships grow stronger in this book and some truths are revealed to both Thorne and Isola.
It was a great part to the series and I really enjoyed reading it. I will definitely be reading the next book in the series and keeping an eye out for its release as I wasn't expecting the twist at the end of this book, it's an interesting development. A five star read from me.
Yes! The spark is back. After the last book, I was worried that the series was going to continue going down hill. But this third installment was just as good as the first!
Isola is back in Dragca with her guards, and a lot has changed. Her kingdom is suffering under the cruel rule of her evil stepmother. Isola has to fight to get her kingdom back, find allies, save her people, and protect her now human guards. Seems pretty easy right? (Yeah no XD)
There was never a dull moment in the story. Between fighting for their lives, rallying for support, undergoing seer trials, and being held prisoner, the dragons are pretty busy.
The one thing I wish about this series is that the guys would be more distinct from each other. Because right now they kind of just blend with each other and none of them really have an obvious personality. This is a super hard thing to do in reverse harems though. But I still love all of they guys!! <3
What an ending!! Everything builds to this amazing peak and off purse it has to cut off there just to keep you guessing until the next book comes out. There is great development for the story with lots of growth for Isola, her men, and the adorable Bea. The balance with the dark makes sense and opens so many avenues for this story to take. I look forward to finding out which one it is in later installments. If you love dragons, magic, and RH then you should really try these. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
The third book in the series, Isola has a lot of very hard decisions to make, doing what she needs to do will cause her pain and heartbreak
Well written the excitement and danger continue, I love how her relationships are developing and growing, I love all the characters and am excited for book four and to see what happens next
The ending! Don’t leave me hanging like this! This series is now one of my favourite dragon stories and I’m dying to know more! Issy and her guards are all together is Dragca again and facing challenges and difficult choices. This book is one hell of a ride and leaves you on the edge of your chair begging for more. Counting down the days to book 4!
Gem never ceases to make me love her writing even more! Isola is having a harder time than normal in this book. Emotions are running high, anything and everything is going wrong, and Tatarina is still a crazy raging evil hag. This book put my “ahhhh crap” meter and emotions through the ringer, but it never disappoints! I did not want to put the book down and stop reading! Book 4 is going to be a wild ride and I couldn’t be happier!
I’ve really enjoyed this series overall, but I didn’t like this installment as much as previous books. It seemed liked they talked everything to death and I wanted more action/plot movement throughout the book. There was also some head scratching moments. I don’t want to give any spoilers so I’ll point out something small. Kor’s mom says my son. After that isola has an internal dialogue saying this must be his mom or at least a close relative... umm she just said my son. Ijs. Still I think this book is a fluke. This author usually delivers on a great read so I’ll continue with the next book.
As in the other books in this series, this book's main weakness is the number of prophecies and curses. There's just too much going on there, and it's hard to keep track of everything. Plus, I don't think the author has done enough world building in terms of explaining how prophecies and curses work in this world.
The harem members, except Thorne, continue to overlap a bit, and the MC continues to be somewhat average. I don't hate her, which is more than I can say for most female protagonists, but I don't love her either.
I'm still interested in the next book (4), but I wonder if my interest will hold for the next few months until book 5.
Much better than the second book! War is upon us. I have 2 theories about the “balance” that keeps getting mentioned both my theories have to do with the Dark Queens Little helper! I guess I’ll have to wait for the next book to come out to see if I’m correct. Hate it when that happens...
Book 3 of the Protected by Dragons series by G Bailey was everything I wanted (except the ending!!!!) and more. I loved the progress in the storyline with the Seers, with the dragon guard curse, and with Issy's light powers. I thought it was cool what Issy and Bee could do, but wasn't exactly happy she fast forwarded all that time like that before the first trial. I also wasn't shocked by the curse solution but liked how it was done nonetheless. I am intrigued by this series' connection with Winter, so that will be fun to watch. I loved Cor's family and some twists we didnt see coming, I wanted to slap Elias so badly, and want her Dagan time ASAP haha. I thought the mix of action and flashbacks was perfect, and hope there is more dragon time in future books. I felt bad for Tata, but she needed to be strong and not let the dark turn her evil. I am intrigued by the dark spirit since I think it was meant to or will be Issy's at some point. Overall, 4.5 stars for the story and am dying for books 4 and 5 on audio ❤️
Narration was spot on again. Loved the dragon voices, the spirit voices, and the new characters we get to meet. I think both narrators are officially on my "definitely will listen" list because they are doing a fabulous job on this series. Love!!
Still highly recommend this series, wish books 4 and 5 were on audio to make this series complete. Hopefully it gets done and we arent left hanging.
Since this is the 3rd book in the series I'm going to skip the synopsis of the novel and jump right into my thoughts about this individual book.
This is probably the slowest book in the series so far. I wasn't as in love with it as the previous 2 novels for a few reasons.
1. it just went slow which usually happens with the middle book in a series. I'm not mad about this but im making it over the hump.
2. Isola needs to get her shit figured out. She was all over the place in this book and it kinda pissed me off to be honest.
3. The Boys. I love the boys but this book they kinda annoyed me, not gonna lie. They were either diving head first into something or trying to run the other way. They weren't my normal sexy irresistible guys which was sad.
I'm very excited to see what comes next - especially with that CLIFFHANGER ENDING!!!! Thank goodness i have the whole series and I'm not suffering right now. Otherwise there would be hell to pay... lol
So far really enjoying the series and looking forward to more :)
When I read the blurb for this one where Isola is supposedly 'betrayed by everyone she meets', well I was expecting more betrayal from say Darth and Essna. But no. She isn't betrayed by anyone in this book. Like not one single person. It's like the person who wrote the blurb didn't even read the book.
Isola while usually melodramatic just gets downright ridiculous in this book because the characters reactions are just so childishly written. When Elias finds out Isola has agreed to be mated (read that as a marriage) to Korbin and is in shock because he hasn't yet thought of the future with all the other drama going on, Isola immediately gets all butt hurt about it and then refuses to talk to him. I just can't with this girl anymore.
In Wings of Spirit, Isola and the guys are back in Dragca, running from Tatarina and searching for the seers to gain allies to take back the throne. With one of the guys gravely ill and all of them without their dragons, Isola is torn between her love for them and her duty to the throne.
This book is great. I loved the cross over with the Her Guardians series, how Dragca is mentioned as being another world just like Fray. There was mention of Winter in this story as well leaving me hoping for a meet up in the coming books.
G. Bailey is a fantastic author and I am constantly amazed by her intertwining plots. I am really looking forward to the rest of this series, and anything else she decides to write!
Just when you think you have all the angst out of the way and good times are coming, you are smacked upside the head with more bad news. There are feels galore in this book - the relationships grow between Isola and the guys, and things may not be as cut and dry with Thorne.
There’s also surprises galore - some that raise eyebrows, some that will make your jaw drop and one last one that makes you want to pull your hair out and rock in a fetal position. And there’s nothing you can do about it til book 4! Brilliant and evil! Great, great book, but ends again on a huge cliffhanger.
Like all of G. Bailey books this is another home fun! Once again she has written a book that captivates the readers attention from the very beginning. This book is full of action, suspense, romance and intrigue. In this book we see Isola and her guys fighting to save Korbin’s life from the poison. Isola is connecting and developing her relationships with the guys more in this book and you can really see them coming together as one team! G. Bailey left this book on a big cliffhanger and has perfectly set the scene for book 2! I am excited to see where this series will go next. Highly recommended RH series by an extremely talented author!!
Each book that I read in this series just keeps getting better and better! This book picks up where the book before it left off just like the one before it did thankfully. But I think the cliffhangers are downright brutal! But like I said each book just keeps getting better and better because each book just sucks you in and won’t let you go until you get to the end. Which then you are left wanting and needing more of the story basically. So anyway yes I most definitely recommend this book but if you haven’t read the first two books then I highly suggest that you do otherwise you will get confused on who’s who and what’s what!
This was my favorite book from the series this far. Isola has grown so much in the progress of the other books that you see her come into get open in this one. She knows what she wants and refused to alter that for anyone. We get an deeper understanding of all the characters past and there back stories. Which allows us to form new opinions of the characters. I love that the book begins with foreshadowing. So to are reading to get to the end and she how it happened. It's was just a really great read.
***I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.*** This book picked right up where the last one left off. The book is a bit slow from times, but of course the build up is great. The characters and their development are what I really love about this series. You never know what G. Bailey is going to spring on us next. Isola still needs to save her dragon guards and she will do anything to help them. Each one of them. She also wants to re-claim the thrown, but doesn't want anyone to get hurt. This was a great book and I cannot wait to read the next one in the series!
Isola, her Dragon Guards, Melody and Bee are racing to save Morning and find the seemed to sway them to Isola's side for the answer to the Dragon Curse and the upcoming battle for Dragca itself. Will she accept the deal and pay the price to break the curse?
This was another great installment in the series. I need the next book ASAP in order to rescue my favorite Dragon Guard and also to see how someone helps them (can't say who).
Omg 😮 once again G Bailey has wrote an amazing book 📖 I loved it 😍 Isloa is amazing strong determined young princess 👸 who kicks butt ... the book 📖 has everything you want in a great book , love 💕 happiness, fighting, passion ...it really sucks you in and keeps you entertained...the ending made me cry 😢 I hope that Isola and her other mates save Elias and that her best friend Hallie realises what a mistake she is maki g 😍
With this series, author G Bailey continues to impress and I fall more in love with these characters with each book. In this installment we have more action, intrigue, a few laughs and even a bit of heartache. The emotional journey Isola and her guys continue to make, in addition to their true journey to save both worlds is extremely well written. I’m highly anticipating the next release and absolutely recommend this series to any fan of Reverse Harem and dragons!
I can’t get enough of this series!! I plowed through all three books and now have to wait for the fourth one to come out. I love how Isola stays strong throughout. She’s not your typical “I’m always in distress and need saving, but I’m strong and can save myself because I’m stubborn “ type. She’s very likeable and is well written with an old soul. I can’t wait to read the next one!!
Editorial mistakes aside, the story kept me captivated. The dialogue in THIS particular book in the series was lacking, and sometimes awkward, but the characters developed some and developed true to their character, rather than suddenly a completely different person. The series, as a whole, is definitely worth the read. This book, in particular, wasnt the best of the bunch.
Omg! Love this series. The ending.... can’t wait to read next in series. So it continues where it left off with Isola trying to find a cure for the dragons guard curse and there are so many twists and turns that you don’t know what will be next. The ending!!!! You will be like Nooooo! So recommend this series and this book.
