A bit darker than the W.I.S.E series

I was pleasantly surprised, by the novellas and short stories. They are darker and more graphic than the books, that I have read by Ms. Ace. Some of the best are told from the killer's perspective.
I particularly liked October, Thanksgiving can be extremely stressful and messy.

It was an enjoyable book of short stories that helps to introduce the authors main protagonists for her other mystery series. I enjoyed all of the short stories except for "Shannon's Racecar" which was the weakest story.

I liked the Cait Morgan short stories best, and the short story that introduces the WISE women series ("Miss Parker Pokes Her Nose In"). All the stories are good.

A dozen stories, each associated with a different month of the year. Some of the stories feature characters in the author's various series, others are stand-alones. All are intriguing, and show imaginative plots. Highly recommended.

Loved this anthology by the incredibly talented Cathy Ace! Fun to read a story a month (that's how I did it at least!), and each one so different from the last. Also really interesting to get the backstories on Cait Morgan and the W.I.S.E. ladies. A+++
