Currently reading
June 17, 2025I was kindly gifted this version of the bible by friends who think I'm Christian. I'll treat it as a compliment, but I'm far more omnist than that (how funny that 'omnist' contains 'om' ha ha! The irony). And they gave me a reading guide that will have me finish it in a year! Bonus!
It is an interesting exercise, reading the bible. And I'm enjoying writing in a book, especially on silky-smooth paper. None of the prompts seem to be relevant to any of the things I'm finding fascinating. They're tailored very much to literal reading, and religion, and not much to the many layers of meaning contained in this ancient text.
All the numbers in the bible - it's got to mean something! And it has me disappearing down YouTube rabbit holes ... nephilim, numbers, the Geneva Bible (or Breeches Bible) used by Shakespeare et al. "So fascinating.
