I thought I was signing up for a luxury retreat on a lonely, windswept island. I didn’t realize that I would be the only guest of three sexy demons hungering for a mate...

Social media addict Edie can’t remember the last time she spent time in the sun or hung out with anyone but her geeky roommates. The curated life of her feed is so much better than reality. But after getting trolled by an online creep, she's determined to detox. Her summer vacation spot has no phone service or internet--just ocean views and the old-fashioned charm of Marchcliff Manor--plus, three smoking hot guys that weren’t listed on the brochure.

Scholarly Alistor, rugged Van, brooding Dante: ferociously protective demons who can take monstrous forms and offer unimaginable pleasures…with a catch. They're cursed, forever bound to the island unless they can find a bride strong enough to handle more than her fair share of sexy supernatural men and surrender her human life.

Well, the love of three demons might be just the thing to distract a girl from the internet, and the ferry won’t return for two weeks. Edie will have to decide…is a human life worth keeping if you barely had one to begin with?

Tempted by Demons is a standalone reverse harem romance with plenty of steam on the way to happily ever after.

Lidiya Foxglove grew up on a steady diet of fairy tales, folklore and fantasy and also reads way too much manga. Fantasy romance is her favorite thing in the world, but she likes it steamy. She also loves cats and tea--it's cliche for a reason!

I really liked this! I don’t think it’s quite as solid as Lidiya’s Fantasy Books but this was a really good stand alone paranormal romance! And the 3 guys? Smoking hawt! 1 of the literally lol. I also enjoyed the MC she was spunky but self conscious and i think they way Lidiya used the social media aspect of the story was great! We are all too wrapped up in social media these days and need to remember to put the phones down and enjoy life!

I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.

Tempted by Demons is a standalone paranormal romance, although I do hope the author will turn it into a series as I had a lot of fun reading this book. I am a big fan of this authors Guardians of Sky and Shadow series and I was both excited and a bit hesitant to start this book. Tempted by Demons was a fun read, it's fast paced with the focus on the romance and not as much drama as her other series, but it's just a lot of fun and I enjoyed the time spent with this book.

This book follows the story of Edie, who is addicted to social media. When an internet troll's comment really gets to her she decides she needs a break and that's when she books a two week trip to Marchcliff Manor where there is no internet. Marchcliff Manor and the island it's on is run by three demons, who are looking for a bride as else the island will disappear from this world forever.

I got pulled in this story right away, Edie is a pretty relatable main characters and her behavior felt pretty realistic. She liked social media and has a blog and vlog and maybe she does spend a bit too much time on it, but that never felt like such a problem until now, when she realizes how much she is missing and hiding. Things progress quite quickly, but even with the pretty fast pace I liked how we quickly get a good feel for most of the side characters we meet. The focus is mostly on Edie and the three men, but there are a few side character, like Edie's two friends that play a part as well.

When Edie arrives on the island it was fun to see her struggle to live in the moment and act without posting everything on social media and I liked how the author illustrated this struggle a bit and also showed what she did gain and enjoy now that she wasn't on social media all the time. I also liked how she struggled a bit at first about the decision she had to make, but then later she seem to make the decision quite suddenly.

I did feel that at times the pace was a tad rushed, a few things didn't get properly resolved and I would've liked a bit more explanation or fleshing out in some scenes. I think the book could've benefited from a few extra chapters, but for the most part I didn't mind the fast pace isn't a problem and the pace fits the story. I was left with a few questions at the end regarding what happened to Edie's job and I wish we could've read the scene where she introduced the guys to her family.

Just like the rest of the book the romance progressed quite quickly as well. There isn't much build-up and their attraction is instantly and things heat up pretty quickly. I did think the romance was well done. The author manages to give a good feel for each of the three men the moment we first met them and I never was confused about who was who as they each have their own personality and appearance. I liked how Edie had some scenes with each of the guys and how she got to know them a bit.

I liked how the Reverse Harem aspect was handled, there was a paranormal explanation for why the three demons were bonded and they had to find one bride, which is pretty normal for demons. They also communicated this pretty early on toward Edie so she knew what she was getting into. I liked how open and honest they were with her, they tell her that they are demons and the he whole deal with the island and how they are bonded pretty early on, which was great.

One of the reasons why I was a bit hesitant before starting this book was the fact that it's about demons. I am usually not a fan of stories that deal with (the biblical version) of demons and angels, so I wasn't sure if that part of the book would work for me. I am happy to say that these demons are a bit different from most demons. They have elemental powers and they have horns, but aren't inherently evil or connected to hell or anything. And while there were some parallels, the way things were worked out here worked for me. It was more two different sides of paranormal creatures than angels and demons as how we usually see them.

The world building was interesting and well done, but I did think the world building could've been expanded a bit more, but we do get answers to the most obvious question. And as I mentioned before the men tell Edie everything pretty quickly, so the reader isn't being kept in the dark because they don't tell the main character anything. I liked how the author painted the world, I guess I just wanted even more so it would feel more alive in my head. I liked how the world pretty had some original and unique elements, like the whole thing with the island and the other spots the demons protect. Another reason why I hope this turns into a series, so we can see more of the world.

To summarize: this was a fun, fast paced paranormal romance Reverse Harem story. I liked following the story of social media addict Edie and how on her vacation she meets 3 demons who run the house and island and falls for them. The pace is pretty fast, but only feels a bit rushed in places, for the most part the pace works well. The author does a good job giving the reader a feel for Edie and the three men their personalities. Things do progress and heat up pretty quickly, but it worked here. The Reverse Harem aspect was handled well and believable with how it was explained and the demons were upfront with Edie about it. If you're looking for a fun, steamy standalone Reverse harem book, I would definitely recommend this one.

I really liked this book. I have been in a reading slump lately and I haven't been connecting with the books I have been reading so I thought I would give this standalone a try. I am so happy that I did because I had a lot of fun while reading this and I believe that it was just the right pick for me right now.
I will say that this wasn't a perfect book. There were a few minor plot holes and, at times, I did feel like the plot was a bit rushed and I didn't get enough details. I would have liked a little more world building as well. There was some insta-love which I am not a big fan of, but it wasn't completely overwhelming to the point that I did not want to continue.
I also had a problem with the main character, Edie. I didn't connect with her at all and I found her addiction to the internet ridiculous and over the top. I did not like her constant need to reach for her phone and I did not appreciate her overuse of hashtags in many of the chapters.
I really liked what I saw of the guys. They were each unique and stood out to me in different ways. I would love to learn more about each of them and their individual stories. I wish that I would have had more time with them.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. What I did see of the world I liked and I would love to read more about it. I hope to see more of this world and these characters in the future. I also look forward to looking into this author further and checking out her other series.

Enjoyed the story but the characters use the word 'like' too much! I noticed that when I was only near page 57. ._.

Ex: 'Whenever I read an interview with some hot chef whose specialty was like, cooking hog jowls...'

Almost every other page uses the word 'like'.. It made the characters sound somewhat immature after seeing the word far too many times. All in all though, it was a good read.

First point; yay to the sisterhood! I freaking love girlfriends and I don't see much of them from most reverse harem reads. Nicole and Dakota were both funny and awesome friends. I wasn't really sure if this would be a series of standalone books but if it indeed was, both women deserved their harems, too!

Second point; this one read felt like it was an amazing diversity of genres. Romance, comedy, fantasy, paranormal...man, the author did play well with her choices. Though I may be saying this in such a light way, I would like to assure you all that as a first read from her, I was in awe of creativity. I laughed out loud, I was frustrated, I was saddened, I was thrilled...I fell in love. How can such a standalone contain this much? /mindblown

Third point; in correlation to the genre, the writing and pacing and world-building was impressive, too!!! My interest was steady throughout the whole ride.

Fourth point; the heroine. The only thing I had in common with her was we both couldn't last a day without using the internet lmao. I was sympathetic to her at that point. But with that said, I was still frustrated with her the first time. Hear me out. The very little free time I had, I would waste surfing the internet. But, I wasn't big on the whole post everything/every pic i had for everyone to nitpick or whatsoever. And Edie absolutely got it bad. The worst case.

Plus, my home's from an archipelago ish country so all those island stuffs felt familiar to me. So if I were in the heroine's shoes...there would actually be no story (i.e. exposition, rising action, climax, falling action) because it would be...bam happy ending! Gets? LMAO.

Thus, her difference and her reluctance from the start kind of built the plot. And in the end, she won me over. She was courageous to decide to tell her friends the truth. Also, with all her talk about peeing, I rather found her brave to fight for her guys.

Fifth point;

"If I’m really going to care for you and you’re really going to care for me, we need to know what we’re getting into."

It was definitely smart of Edie to bring some of her guys to DC to experience mundane stuffs with them. In that way, she would be determining if they could actually tolerate each other on a settings wherein they weren't riding high on magic. Who else loved an intellectual?

Sixth point; that satisfaction. I love the fact that the author was generous to include a slice of that post happy-ever-after chapter. Reverse harem and family and babies? Just how cute is that?!?

Enjoyable

Definitely not my first book read by Foxglove and as such much of this felt like a comfortable familiar.

I liked Edie, Alistair, Van, and Dante just fine. Now the reasons I gave 3 stars instead of 4 or 5 are...

1) I just wasn't feeling a ton of chemistry. It all very much felt more like desperation and necessity, not affection really. Wasn't even getting a lot between the guys that were lifelong friends and bond mates.

2) The conflict/s. There were two; one centered on Edie and one centered on the guys but was ultimately played out on Edie. Both were back to back and felt like afterthoughts. They didn't really do much to push the story forward. As a stand-alone book I think this could have either been left out OR had it impact the storyline more. As it is written it's just bleh. Small little side quests of no real worth.

3) Because Van is so easy going he just didn't get equal playing time. Which, hear me out, he arguably got more time spent with Edie as certain phases but the quality of it didn't feel equal, if that makes sense.

I liked the book. I always enjoy a standalone between series/trilogies. Nice cleanser before jumping into another long-term commitment. Lol. Edie's addiction was relatable in ways and really shines a light on how much we rely on social media.

Overall, read the book! You'll most likely enjoy it like I did, but don't expect too much from it.

Want to see more of this!!

First off, I thought Edie was immature. I know that girls especially, worry about their image online as much as out in the real world, but Edie only seemed to live through her online presence. That's sad. People are cruel to each other about our appearances in the real world, but online it's taken to the extreme because the person in the video isn't really real. They're just two dimensional images that can be turned off and on when convenient. I want to know how Edie's family allowed her to distance herself from them and from life in general? But thank goodness Marchcliff Manor existed. Alistair, Van and Dante were able to give her that guidance, love and attention that she was desperately seeking online. And the wonderful thing was that they were flesh and blood and demon. They didn't allow her to distance herself from the life that was passing her by, even though that life seemed to be a little old-fashioned on the island. I want to see more from Marchcliff Manor. Edie matured over the course of the story, and the men helped support her and love her as she grew. I want to see if there are other islands like Marchcliff. So bring it on Ms. Foxglove! I borrowed this book through the Kindle Unlimited program.

Give me more

This is the first book I've read by this author and it was good. She has her own twist on good and evil, angels and demons that isn't quite like anything I've read before. She did well with balancing the multi-partner, reverse harem, menage style relationship dynamic. And in case your wondering this relationship at least physically is definitely set up to be centered around one person, in this case Eddie and not a free for all between all involved parties. Speaking of the physical yes there are plenty of sexy times and steamy moments but this author also gives actual story and character development to hold onto. So overall it's packed full of good and yummy stuff, my only wish was that the ending had been explored a little more. I say this because the ending just felt a little rushed and maybe not all points of it were explored or explained. And then we jump into an epilogue that was nice and happy but it also left me a little sad that we didn't get to see some major life type milestones and their journey through them but only the by product of them. That being said it was still a really good book especially if you are looking into reverse harem, paranormal type romance. Overall would recommend.

I received this book as an ARC in return for an honest and voluntary review!

I really enjoyed this book. I mean, seriously, who wouldn’t like to be worshipped by three men?

Edie was a likable and relatable character -from her social media addiction to her trying to figure out what to do with her life and who she really is- it all resonated with me. I liked the fact that she didn’t immediately commit herself to the men and the island, but that she did think about it and that she then realized how she was happier there with them and that it was exactly what she wanted, no matter what other people thought about it.

The three men -demons- Dante, Van and Allister had their own unique character traits, looks and elemental magic which made it possible to keep them apart. They also complemented each other and Edie in a good way. I mean, I wouldn’t be able to decide between them and would be more than happy to accept the role as their bride!

Overall this es great story and I can recommend it to anyone who likes RH, romance, steamy scenes, demons, magic and action!
I hope to read more either about them or more of the world!

Tempted by Demons is a standalone reverse harem story following a social media addict who falls for three demons on an island with no service. As funny as that sounds this story was actually amazing with a great heroine, three awesome guys who know how to treat a lady, and a creative world filled with magic, creatures, and new realms.

Edie is a twenty something woman running the social media for a non profit, and food blogging on her time off. Unfortunately she's being trolled by a relentless individual and is falling into the habit of checking her phone every minute. Realizing she's developing a serious problem, Edie takes a trip to a remote island in Maine, complete with no cell service and a weird habit of draining her cell phone battery. After arriving on the island she meets three men who are more than they seem.

I really enjoyed this story. It was a fairly quick read, just taking about two or so hours, but was the perfect length to introduce the characters and the world they live in, establish their relationships, and protect their island. Tempted by Demons is an intriguing and entertaining story. I will definitely be reading more of Lidiya Foxglove in the future.

WHAT WORKED: Dirty. Delicious. Quirky. What a neat, bizarre, unusual book. I freaking loved it. I loved the leads. The characters just leapt off the page at me. The world itself leapt off the page at me. The pace was generally good, and I've never read a story like this before (and I've read a lot, check out my list... that's only a fraction of what I've read.)

WHAT NEEDED WORK: My head felt like it was in a bit of a whirl with the location jumping, but I do marathon-reads of entire books in a single sitting. Would have liked a bit more backstory with the lead's parents, and best friends. I feel like that was skimmed a bit more than it could have been.

OVERALL IMPRESSION: What a great first book experience with this author!!!! I resolved to read all she's ever written, but I also resolved to savor it. Some authors, I just skim through the parts I hate, but this isn't one of those authors, ladies and gentlemen. Find anything of hers that grabs your fancy and dive in. She does great menage, but also great monogamists too. Her fairy tales are a super power. I'm telling you. You gotta read it to believe it.

Fun and sexy story in an interesting universe. Looking forward to more stories set in this world.

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...

1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.

2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.

3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.

4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.

5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.

Oh Lidiya Foxglove gave us one fantastic tale of a girl lost in her world and finding herself and all that she desires in another. We are introduced to Edie, a technology addicted girl in her late 20s who seems to live through her online persona. She takes a vacation to try and find herself, and boy does she ever. She finds more then she bargained for and more then she could ever dream possible. Edie is witty, feisty, and strong. She can give back just as good as she gets. The rapport between she and her trio of demons, Van, Alister, and Dante is quick, fun, and magical. I hope this is the first in a series as I don't want to say good bye to these characters.

Wow!! That was a fun read. I love that this was a stand alone. I have to say that while I wasn’t bored, I really wasn’t into this story until maybe chapter 5. It also took a while to like the main character. But, I feel like that’s how it’s supposed to be. All the changes she makes in her thinking, make her much more likable. I love all the guys. They are all so appealing on their own and fantastic together. There is a brief part with one of her friends toward the end that was kind of awkward. But, it was so quick at getting back to the good stuff, that it didn’t matter much. This was a fun read. Definitely give a whirl.

So sweet...

Three super hot guys/demons, one crazy girl...you are not scaring me... it helped that they had most of the guy types represented. Hot tempered skeptical guy, sweet natured dependable guy, and the smart practical but still waters run deep guy. It started a little slow but really ended so sweetly that I could safely overlook the slow start and confidently give it five stars. It also helped that it was a standalone. To say that I am sick of reading a book and then being hit with a cliff hanger with the sequel no where in sight is an understatement. So yay to this author. Il be looking for more books from you.

What a wonderfully fun read! Aren't we all a little obsessed with our social media? Wouldn't it be wonderful to take a vacation away from it all? Throw in a couple delicious demons and that's quite a recipe! Don't you think? I especially like the domestic scenes, with extra points for the sexy bits. This is the first book I've read by this author and I really enjoyed the world she created. She pulled me in from the beginning and didn't let go to the very end. Which by the way was too soon if you ask me :-) I'm definitely going to be checking out this authors other works.

I LOVE this story! I'm a big fan of the author and she doesn't disappoint. This book has magic, action and steamy romance. While the sex scenes are there and very hot, there is a reason for them and it makes the story better. They aren't in there just to be there.
To be honest, I cannot think of anything I would change in the story. I highly recommend, as long as multiple partners doesn't offend you. And to the author, I'd love to know if Dakota finds an island 😉

Edie is obsessed with social media but gets really upset by trolls. Her friends send her on some kind of retreat to an isolated island. There she meets 3 hot guys...these guys are actually demons looking for a wife to secure the barrier between earth and the demon realm.

This wasn't terrible just meh. I don't mind people who are a little too attached to social media, I get it...but do you have to think in instagram posts and hashtags? At that point I just started skimming.

This was both boring and entertaining. I skimmed but I also read pages consecutively. It was both cute and crazy and it wrapped things up both quickly and into much detail. So what I’m saying is this book was fun and confusing and I will probably not ever read it again. I also don’t think I want to read the second one in the series because I genuinely didn’t care about anyone in this book let alone the secondary characters.

I really enjoyed this story. I don’t usually like the insta love books but this story is so different that it had to happen like it did. I loved getting to know Edie & her men. I’m hoping that there will be more to their story. I highly recommend reading this story if you like paranormal & supernatural books :)

Really cute reverse harem. I love that the heroine has such good women friends. And the heroes were enjoyable. I'll definitely read more by this author.

(I've noticed that with reverse harems, that they're better at depicting friendship among women than most of the PNR/UF books I've read over the years. It's interesting.)

Unexpectedly Amazing

Amazing book. You can relate because we’re always online and on our phones nowadays so to get away with no electricity would be a shocked. I love how E tries to go without technology and learning nature. The plot was well written with twist and turns, you just fall for the guys: sweet, caring and hotheaded. Just blows you away!

Surprisingly good

Sometimes I just pick out random reads from the KU recommendations lists and this time it worked really well. The book has a world that's not too complicated and characters and a story that work well as a standalone (although Ive got to admit I would love to read more about her friends) Overall a really good read with a nice little sprinkle of spice.

Absolutely adorable and relatable

Edie is an internet-a-holic (I can relate with that!) who decides it's time to get her life back....
And boy did she!
I absolutely loved Van and Dante; Alister was kind of the weak link for me but we all have our types.
This was a great, quick read, whirlwind romance; a completely perfect way to indulge.

3.5 Pretty Good Stars

I enjoyed reading this book, it was fun. However, there wasn’t much drama or suspense or action, the relationships felt kinda weak. The sexy times were underwhelming. The demons didn’t feel very ‘demony’ either. But regardless of all the negatives, it was an enjoyable story, even if it was all fluff.

The epilogue was sad and pointless though, really.

Love it

This was so great. I really loved Edie and her guys. They were all complex characters with their own insecurities and strengths. I loved that Edie didn't just jump into a commitment with them. She really thought it through and made the best decision for her. Five stars!
