Room Service by Summer Cooper a five-star read that will leave you filled. Summer Cooper is a great writer, she writes hot and sweet with a dash of funny to keep it light and she writes men like Trent Thompson he’s a little like an anomaly he’s sweet at the beginning and then a man you wouldn’t want to meet in the middle then he comes back to being a good man again. Jessi is a great character all the way through, and the chemistry that is in the pages will set you alight.

The couple: Trent and Jessi

Romance genre: redemption story?
Series:
Length: 352 pages

Plot: Jessi is content at her job as a lauded pastry chef at a fancy hotel. That is, until Trent comes home. Trent is the owner's son, and Jessi, having grown up at the mansion (her parents work there), knows him pretty well. In fact, she had a crush on him forever, and he shot her down, cruelly. He's the last person she wants to see, and when they do run into each other, he's once again the cruel jerk she remembers. But then things start to shift and he might have changed his mind about her. Can she forgive him enough to let him in?

Commentary: I'll be honest - I almost DNF'ed this one, and that's something I rarely do (outside of the first chapter of a book if it's poorly written). I just really hated the hero. He wasn't an anti-hero or a bad guy with a chance for redemption. He was a self-absorbed, arrogant, completely un-self-aware jerk. He spent the first part of the book thinking about how attractive he was and how everyone thought he was so wonderful. He needed therapy more than most o the characters I've read. He hated his stepmother for...being his stepmother.
I’d known the moment Dad brought her home I wasn’t going to give her a chance to be my stepmother, but that fact didn’t matter. I hated her, and that was it. There was no reason to think it over; no matter how many times both of them insisted I did.

Now we find out almost at the very end that there is a reason for some of his dysfunction; however, as we can see from the quote above, he hated her the minute she came home.
She and I had barely talked in all the years we’d lived in the same house. When I couldn’t avoid her, she’d start talking to me, and I would either stare at her until she stopped, or I would walk
I think it's pretty common for kids, to be upset and think that a step-parent is trying to replace a dead parent, but he carried on and nobody noticed to the point where they would force some help on him? He was a kid. A young kid at that. But on his end, he never grew up. He stayed in an adolescent mindset and treated everyone around him poorly - his brothers, sisters, dad, stepmom, Jessi. He had no reason to be mean to Jessi. No reason - he just was. How on earth she ever gave in and had sex with him I'll never understand. He apologized to her for the way he acted in the past at 87%.
I'll add this: He was a jerk before and after his defining moment, but this is what happened:

2.5 antsy second chance romance stars.

It's a second chance romance with a hint of forbidden.
A servant's daughter and a Master's son, oh yeah I was excited to read this one.
It has interesting story, there's a lot of drama and angst, there's weird facts here and there though, and it's too bad I didn't like the characters, I can't connect with them and it's really frustrating. But there's also some moments that make me can't put it down, especially those angst moments, wondering how this couple will work. So overall, I'm quite enjoying it.

As for characters, I hate Trent, everything he did is so cruel and bothering me and it happens through all the book.
And Jesie, I don't get it why she still loves Trent after what he did to her again and again.
It's a matter of preference though, but I don't like this couple, I can't feel their love.

If you're looking for second chance romance with a lot of angst, you might like this one.

This was a case of because I like you, I diminish you. (-.-) Seriously? I really disliked the way Trent went about what he did, not only to Jessi but to his father and the new family he made. I know some things happened in the past and when he talked about it I felt some sympathy for him but still, that didn't mean that his choices weren't his believes. He was wrong. The good thing is that he woke up.

Jessi is a hard working woman. I felt really close to her during the entirety of this book and I could understand her better than her love interest. I think she was an excellent strong female protagonist for this story. I think she was the most realistic character of them all.

The writing, as with the books by Summer Cooper that I've read so far, was on point, with the proper structure that I've come to recognize in romance novels and with great characters. I think this book was very well done and I was also, a very good read for me.

I would recommend this book to those that like second chance romances, and don't mind a little bullying in the past of the characters *smile*

Also, this book has some pretty steamy scenes, so if you don't like those in your books, you've been warned *wink*

Trent's mum died and it was then just him and his dad.  But his dad wasn't very good at helping Trent, who was a child, through this emotional turmoil and just runs off and gets married again, starts a new family without including him.  Trent is very bitter.  meanwhile Jessie's mum and dad both work for Trent's family and she has always had a crush on him. She told him that she loved him and the jerk just laughed at her. Poor Jessie and Trent was even more vile by then trying to get her parents sacked!  Years later, Trent has made his own successful business and Jessie is now a chef at one of his dad's hotels and, what's more, she is good friends with Emily his stepsister.  His dad wants him back with them and Emily and family pretend his dad is poorly and wants to see him.  Trent rushes back and sees Emily and Jessie first.  He is astonished at how stunning Jessie is now, but he's still got that awful jerk inside him and is rude to her.  When he realises that she's avoiding him he deliberately  sets her up to come and see him.  The chemistry that Jessie felt all those years ago to Trent have not faded. If anything with maturity she feels even more for him but this time Trent reveals how attractive he finds her and one thing leads to another... STEAM HEAT plus lots of passion.  Next day she is gone and Trent can't believe it. Why did she leave him? Does she not feel the way he does?  he's never felt this way before?  Summer Cooper is one brilliant author who creates superb storylines with amazing characters such as Jessie and Trent.  I thought Emily was a valuable addition to the story. It really starts off rather sadly and it is obvious that Trent and his dad need to have a very serious talk together.  Why Trent was such an idiot to Jessie and for him to even hope that she could forgive him and give him a second chance?  This is an emotional story in so many ways but is so wonderfully written with sensitivity and passion by Summer.  I was hooked on the story from the beginning right to the end so much so that, whilst I did receive a free reader's copy and voluntarily leave my honest opinion of the story here, I bought my own copy to support the author and because the bonus stories are fantastic and I'm looking forward to finishing them this weekend.

Definitely recommended

Winning Her is a billionaire second chance contemporary romance. Winning Her is the story of Jessi and Trent. Summer Cooper is a phenomenal author who creates fantastic stories with amazing storylines and characters. Winning Her is an emotional story within so many ways but is written with both sensitively and passion from Summer Cooper. I was completely captivated with the story from beginning all the way to the very end. I would recommend this book to others.

Being the eldest son of a wealthy man should have its perks, shouldn't it. But Trent did not want any of those, his father was not the person he thought he was. When Trent's mom died and he was so young, what did his father do to console him, run off get married and start another family. Never once looking to his oldest son and comforting him. Bitterness and anger held at bay, but that doesn't mean Trent is in a hurry to become "family" with the others. Things always go hinkey when you say that, don't they?

Her mother and father work for the Thompson family, and she had fallen in love with the oldest Thompson boy, but what did he do when she told him all those years ago? He laughed at poor Jessi and then tried having her parents let go. Now she works as a chef in the Thompson hotels and earned her position. Something is about to change and this isn't a good thing for Jessi, at least that is what she keeps telling herself.

A call from his step-sister, Emily, gives some discouraging news. Now what is Trent to do? He rushes home, packs and drives to his father's place. What else could he do? When he gets there things seem off, but he figures it is because of the news he was told about his father's health. Jessi and Emily have become good friends. starting back in the early teen years. They are hanging out tonight. Thinking that Trent would be at the place in the morning, both Emily and Jessi are surprised when there he is. Jessi was trying so hard to stay away from him and without being seen....nope. Snide comment made my Trent on the way to his room. You better believe Jessi hears it.

You know the old saying about boys only doing mean things to the girls they like, right?! Trent regretted saying that mean comment the moment he opened his mouth. He was stunned to see how grown up Jessi was, and he was impressed. Then Trent finds out she is a chef at one of the hotels. Things start to roll. He orders food, and pastries when normally he wouldn't, just so Jessi would know he was doing that. The only thing is, he is being avoided, and he doesn't like it. Feeling bad, he decides to hunt Jessi down and apologize. How he finds her and what happens next are much better than Trent had hoped.

There is no going back, both Trent and Jessi set their passions for one another loose, and it is amazing. Trent never has felt like this, and things he wouldn't accept about other women in his life, he WANTS to make exceptions for Jessi with. He doesn't do sleep overs either, but he wants to and does with Jessi, only to find himself alone. Now he is confused and wants answers since he thought things had been cleared up between them. Days happen, and Jessi puts in a surprise transfer request. Trent doesn't know this, but when he finds her at her place, he notices boxes but isn't paying very close attention, he has other things on his mind. Again they heat things up very intensely. Once again in the morning Trent is alone, and now notices the boxes are gone. Texts and voice mails go unanswered. His step sister Emily rants at him to go get her and bring her back. He is taken off guard by this, however the feeling of going and getting Jessi and bringing her back to HIM is exactly what he is thinking.

When Trent does show up, Jessi is in the middle of being belittled in front of her coworkers by her boss. Trent sees red and steps in. Jessi is stunned and grateful. Now Trent has the upper hand, and Jessi is NOT allowed and will not walk away from him. They talk, he apologizes for his actions all those years ago, he shares what has caused all the turmoil. They bond, really bond. Then words get spoken, feelings are shown and they go back home....together, but not without celebrating (really hotly!) about them being together after all this time.

I volunteered to read this arc story for an honest review. I very much enjoyed reading the story. Jessi is a young woman who is a pastry chef for a very prestigious Hotel. Growing up her parents work for the hotels owner but she received the job all on her own. Trent is a cranky, handsome man who happens to own his own company, because he try to get out from underneath his father's name. His father happens to own the hotel that Jessi works at and her parents work for his dad and his mansion. Trent and Jessi grew up together but after trans mother passed away he became angry and hateful always trying to put Jessi down. Jessi has always had a crush on him and one day in high school she decided to give him a kiss and tell him about her feelings, which only caused him to laugh at her and tease her more. Fast forward several years, his dad is frustrated and would like him to come home and visit, so you put some to play a scheme with his sister Emily to bring the boys home. Emily calls and inform strength that her dad has had a heart attack and he needs to come home to help with the family business. But every time Trent goes to speak to his dad he refuses to be seen. He runs into Jessi at the hotel and acts like a jerk, but inside all I can think about is her. Jessi is just devastated because Trent is back and she remembers how he treated her when she was younger and she's afraid he's going to do the same thing. One night after work Jessi and her best friend cook some desserts in the hotel kitchen for the staff have a little bit of wine, to the point she's tipsy walking up stairs she runs face-first into Trent. Feeling the alcohol is giving her courage, she stands on her tiptoes and gives him a kiss. Things heat up between the two of them one thing leads to another and you can just imagine where that went. Jessi decided she needs to put some space between her and Trent, so she asked for a transfer. After she's granted her transfer, but find it that is not easy to settle in. Her new co-workers are jerks. Emily tells Trent he needs to get Jessi back. The story has a great story line and flow. The characters are fun. It's near to see how Trent changes from the beginning, bring a jerk to the end, where he can express his feelings finally.

I liked Jessi & Trent's story although I hated that he was a complete jerk to her when they were kids & he was still doing it now. When Jessi found out about Trent's dad being ill she knew he would be coming back to see him which meant she would have to make sure she didn't see him. Even though Trent had hurt her all those years ago as a kid no matter what she tried she couldn't stop loving him & when she bumped into him at the house not knowing he'd already come home he was still the jerk who hurt her once again with his rude comments.
I already didn't like him but then when he was mean to her the next day in the staff room making comments about her getting the job from his dad I wanted to punch him & I loved the way Jessi stood up to him.
Seeing Jessi again after so long had him feeling something he'd not felt since his mother died when he was a child got even stronger when he bumped into a tipsy Jessi in the hotel leading to them getting lost in each other in his hotel, she was a virgin who had only ever loved him & it was everything she'd dreamt of but knowing how cold he was normally to her she left in the morning before he woke up. Trent felt a bit upset not waking up to her & couldn't stop thinking about her but he had work to do with his brothers as their father was ill so was going to speak to her later.
After what they had done & knowing how he wouldn't want to see her ever again & her not coping with the hurt she was feeling she decided to leave but before she could Trent found her & again they ended up in bed together & Trent knew he wanted to be with her. Again she left without telling him.
They both missed each & Trent now knew he loved her but had never said but then his sister Emily dropped a huge secret of betrayal by his dad had him leaving straight away going back to his own life away from his family. There were a lot of hate, betrayal & untold truths that led to emotional times but told us a lot more of how Trent came to be the cold hearted person he was.
I really hoped Jessi would get her happy ever after with the love of her life but at times I did think it would happen.
I can't wait to read the next Thompson brothers story.

Another great book by Summer Cooper!  <3  Love this story.

Jessi's parents have always worked for the Thompson family.  They work and live at the mansion, which in turn meant she grew up in the same house as Trent Thompson.  Trent.  She has been in love with him for years.  But he just laughed at her when she told him how she felt.

Current time.  Jessi has worked hard to become the top pastry chef of the Thompson hotel company.  She is happy with life and loves her job.  She still has not allowed herself to fall in love or give herself to a man.  When a heart attack brings the Thompson brothers home, she is scared.  Scared to face the one man who has haunted her.  The one man who broke heart.

Trent left home as soon as he could.  After losing his mother at a young age and watching his father replace her and him with a new family, he felt like an outsider.  With dark secrets that fueled his bad feelings toward his step mother he left and made a name for himself.  When his half-sister calls and tells him to come home because his father had a heart attack he doesn't even think, he just goes.  But upon his arrival his father refuses to see him or his brothers.  Trent decides he will help how he can and run his father's empire till he is well enough to do it himself.  What Trent did not expect was to run into Jessi.  Even after all these years his heart still stops at the sight of her.

Will Trent put aside everything and finally let Jessi in?  Will Jessi ever stop building a wall up between them?

The book was a quick and easy read and the characters were enjoyable and highly entertaining.  I especially love Emily.  She is a tough cookie.  The chemistry between the Jessi and Trent was hot and magnetic.  The story flowed smoothly and did not feel rushed.  I loved the ending especially.  It was swoon worthy material.

Hats off to Summer Cooper for another job well done.  If you are looking for a hot little second chance romance, then this is the book for you.

Room Service is a second chance romance that had potential, but didn't live up to it.

Jessi is a hard working pastry chef working at the hotel owned by her parents' employers. She doesn't have much of a social life and she's always been in love with the son of her parents' employers. She grew up in his mansion with him and they used to be friends until his mom passed and he changed. And yet, she still nurtured a crush on him until the day she told him of her feelings and he laughed at her. Now, years later that boy is coming back to the mansion after his father has a heart attack. Will Trent have grown up and see that she has too?

Well, not exactly. No, he's as much of an ass as he was back then, and treats her just as badly. How Jessi ends up in bed with him I'll never know, because Trent is even more of a cold hearted snob than he was back then. But, I guess you can't control who you love or how your body is attracted to someone.

Unfortunately, Jessi isn't any better of a character than Trent. She is just as one dimensional and boring as he is. I never connected with either of them and couldn't for the life of me feel their connection to each other. Even at the end when Trent did the requisite apology and got the girl back and sort of changed his tune, I didn't believe in their so called love. I guess the main reason I had a problem with Room Service is because of that - their connection isn't believable, and both characters are bland and one dimensional, so how could I possibly rate this higher than 2.5 stars?

Jessi's parents worked for the Thompson family for years so Jessi was always around the kids growing up. When they were younger Jessi confessed her feeling for Trent and he broke her heart. Now years later she faced with seeing Trent again. Trent is back because his half sister Emily called him back due to his dad being sick. Trent hates being around his half siblings it reminds him of the pain he went through in his past. Trent has always felt like he dad didn't want him once he had other children so it made him a cold isolated person. When he literally runs into Jessi again the first time in years he reverts back to his old self and hurts her again. Jessi works as a pastry chef in one of the Thompson's hotels and worked really hard to get the job there. When Trent finds out he makes more insulting comments but they only mask he true feelings. Trent has always wanted Jessi just never thought he would be able to have her. After drinking with a friend Jessie runs into Trent at the hotel and the end up having sex. Can Trent convince Jessi of his feeling before he loses her for good? Will Jessi do what she always does when she's hurt and run away?

This was a great story that will keep you entertained from the very first word til the last one. Its well written and the characters are very relatable. The chemistry between Trent and Jessi is explosively hot. I can't wait to read more by this author.

Jessi grew up in the same house as the Thomson's but they owned the house and her family were just the help. It wasn't always that way Jessi and Trent Thomson were friends up until Trent's mother passed away and Trent pulled away from everyone. His father even sent him to boarding school up until high. Jessi had such a huge crush on him telling him she loved him to which he replied to with laughter and remarks on how she was after the survent's daughter.
It's been a decade since Trent left home if that's what you want to call it but it wasn't home to him after his father remarried not long after losing his mother and had a replacement family. Trent left all that behind, finished college, started his own successful business and rarely if ever spoke with his father or half siblings. So when his half sister called saying their father had a heart attack he reluctantly returned but he didn't expect to run into Jessi. All grown up and just as beautiful as when he pushed her away. And here he was doing it again as soon as she literally ran into him he went on the defensive making a snide comment about the help using the front door. From there Jessi and Trent keep tripping over each other and continue to say the wrong thing or fail to believe in each other because of their past hurts and fears of heartbreak and loss. This is a ARC review for "Room Service" a standalone with no cheating and a HEA

In typical second chance romance style, Jessi and Trent were friends when they were kids. Jessi's parents were the household help in Trent's family home. After the death of Trent's mother his whole personality changes into a distant and cold man. Jesse always held out hope that she could return Trent back into the young boy she knew and loved. However, their inability to communicate is Jessi and Trent's biggest problem. It has affected every aspect of their lives, their families, their careers and each other.

I give Jessi credit for trying to be there for Trent in his grief when they were younger, but avoiding Trent and transferring to another workplace is cowardly and juvenile. Trent's flimsy apology to Jessi doesn't hit the mark either. For all of their uncontrollable passion these actions don't correlate.

There is a scene where Trent's father shows up at his house to finally apologize to his son about the lack of support and love he gave while grieving. It was weak but seemed sincere. Then, Trent drops a shocking bomb on his father that he (nor you as the reader) saw coming.

This is the first in the trilogy and you can tell that events past and present are setting up for the next books, so it seemed a little disjointed at times in reference to Trent and his family. Trent and Jessi's romance is rocky at best and when Trent finally realizes that he needs and loves Jessi their happy ending falls flat. I would have liked more emotion, more groveling, more sincerity.

This is an interesting story about a truly dysfunctional family. The eldest grows up alone and learns to distance himself from everyone at age six, after the death of his mother and while his father is constantly working never connects. However the father remarries and has more children he's never close and refuses to even acknowledge the stepmother. All the children are brought back home for a family emergency with the father, the sons all pitch in to help out with the family business which is chain hotels. The eldest of course takes the helm. Trent the eldest runs into his old friend literally while at the father's home she's the daughter of the maid and butler, they of course played as children. Jessie the daughter works at the main hotel in the kitchen, she's been in love with Trent since they were little and he's been nothing but cold and cruel to her breaking her heart over and over. This story is really about how one man can overcome his past and realize that he's the one who isolated himself by never trying to be part of the family or ask for help. It's hard and there are many things that occur before he has an epiphany. I enjoyed the book very much. I do think it ended much to abruptly as I would have liked to have read about Trents apologies and the way the family and friends took it plus I'd like to see if the relationship with his father could be rebuilt

I love reading second chance romance books!! Jessi and Trent have a very complicated relationship.
Jessi's parents have worked for Trent's family since Jessi was a baby and growing up Jessi had a huge crush on Trent. Sadly Trent broke her heart since she was the servants daughter and only laughed at her.
Trent leaves because he feels his dad doesn't love him after having more kids with his step mom. Then he gets a call from his stepsister Emily that dad is sick and needs to come home. He's not happy but comes back.
Jessi is the head pastry chef at the hotel Trent's father owns. She loves what She does. She has tried to forget the man who broke her heart but she still thinks about him. So when they see each other again Jessi is hopeful that he changed. Sadly she's proven wrong right away.
Them one night of drinking her sorrows away with her friend Laura, Jessi tries to go back to her room and accidently bumps into Trent. This leads them to a very hot night. A night Jessi regrets the next morning. She doesn't want to get her heart broken again. She decides to transfer to another hotel and avoid Trent.
Secrets get expose and things get complicated. Will Trent realize his mistake before he loses Jessi? What is the hatred he has towards his dad and step mom?
I really enjoyed reading this story!!

I was completely drawn into this story. Trent and Jessi grew up with one another, due to her parents employment with the Thompson household. Even as a little girl she was infatuated with Trent and was always there for him. After his mother dies when he is 5, he starts to withdraw, not only from Jessi, but his family as well. His father quickly remarries and soon starts a new family. He has 2 brothers and a sister. When Jessi is a teenager she tells Trent that she loves him and kisses him, he just laughs at her and crushes her heart. Trent's goal is to get as far away from his father as soon as possible. After he graduates from high school he leaves home and doesn't tell anyone where he is going. After a month, his father calls to find out "where the hell are you,". Trent builds himself a profitable company all on his own, but then his sister calls and tells him he needs to come home, that their father has had a heart attack. Trent heads back home and his path crosses with Jessi, who is now a very beautiful grown up women. But old habits die hard and he is rude to her again! Jessi tries to completely ignore him, but they keep running into one another. This story has a few twists and turns that keep you intrigued. I highly recommend this book. I found it hard to put down.

This was a frustrating read for me because the main character, Trent Thompson, is a snobby, rich twit who treats everyone like they’re dirt under his feet. He even pushes away the best thing in his life, Jessi, the other main character, who has always been his friend growing up and has loved him no matter how he treated her.

I could relate and sympathize with Trent to a point at the loss of his mother, but growing up didn’t seem to mature him in any positive way. I think the saying, ‘Once a jerk, always a jerk’ pretty much summed up his whole being.

Jessi, on the other hand, seems to be a very bright and talented chef. She accepts a job at one of the Thompson hotels and literally runs in to the grown-up version of Trent the imbecile. He doesn’t seem to be able to move on from his mother’s death from so long ago. Tragedy should make a person better not become more of a fool.

Thankfully the story ends with an HEA, but I was hard pressed to accept Jessi’s undying love for a person who continuously treated her with utter contempt.

I’m normally a huge fan of Summer Cooper books but this one just wasn’t my cup of tea. It’s well written, as are all of Ms. Cooper’s books, but it’s hard to like a book very much when you automatically dislike one of the main characters for most of the story.

When I first met Trent, wow… I honestly thought he was rude, cold, and just plain unlikeable. I couldn’t imagine ever warming up to him. Jessi, though? Totally different story. I connected with her right away—she’s strong, determined, and you can feel how much she wants to overcome the pain from her past.
Trent and Jessi have known each other forever, and let’s just say there’s no love lost between them. The way Trent treated her before—and even at the start of this book—had me wondering if there was anything redeemable about him at all.
But then the author starts peeling back those layers, and suddenly you see why Trent is the way he is. You get glimpses into his past, and it all starts to make sense. Watching them reconnect was such a ride—when they finally do, sparks fly! Of course, it’s not all smooth sailing. Their insecurities, fears, and lack of communication make things messy, but that’s what makes their journey so real. And in the end? They get their HEA, and I loved every second of it.
Summer Cooper is so good at redeeming her male leads and taking them on this emotional growth journey. It’s one of the reasons I keep coming back to her books. I think an epilogue would have tied it up - I know it is book one in a series but the ending just seemed abrupt.

I usually really like Summer Coopers books, this book however just didn't do it for me. The H Trent was a pompous ass who was a complete jerk to the h Jessie. I just couldn't see why she loved him, other than they have a strong sexual attraction. Add to the mix that Jessie is a complete doormat, her personality was very bland and all she did was run. I couldn't buy into the characters nor the romance. I also did not get the relationship between the hero and his father, it was very "Cat's in the Cradle" The story also lacked the humor that is often in her other novels. All that being said, the story did hold my attention all the way through, and it looks like many others have enjoyed it, so my issues with the story may just me my own issues :) Overall, an OK story. *I received an ARC of this book from BookSprout and this is my voluntary and honest review.

I read this book as part of an arc program. In this book, Trent is asked to come home by his sister Emily when she tells him their father has had a heart attack. Trent is the oldest child and after his mother did when he was a young child, his father remarried and had three more children. Trent has never been close to any of his family and feels like he doesn't need them or want anything to do with them. While growing up, Jessi lived with the Thompsons because both of her parents worked at the mansion. Jessi always had a crush on Trent, but he acted like a jerk to her and said a lot of mean things. Jessi grew up and became a pastry chef and now works in the family's hotel. When Trent returns, he sees Jessi and continues to be mean to her. Jessi tries to avoid Trent, but one night they crash into each other and Jessi kisses Trent. Trent kisses her back and takes her back to his room. Jessi is a virgin and when she wakes the next morning, she flees. Trent is mildly disappointed but he thinks he will see her again. Jessi, on the other hand decides to leave and asks for a transfer to another hotel. This was a good story, I think Trent was his own worst enemy. I think if he had of talked to anyone he could have been happier, good one.

This was an interesting read. It was a little quirky with some of the shenanigans going on in the book. This is the story of Trent, a privileged and wealthy "Thompson", and Jessi, a desert chef whose parents worked for the "Thompsons". The two are about the same age and have grown up together. She remembers a time, before his mother died, that he was a nice fun kid. However, after his mother died he was filled with resentment, bitterness and hatred. He began treating her like she was trash or a servant. Even though she has always loved him she has had enough with his attitude and behavior directed at her. Then things begin to change and he sees her as someone and something more. However, there is a lot of drama going on in this book including a fake illness. This book was a little sad, drama filled and a little suspenseful. Overall I enjoyed the book but I did think it was repetitive especially regarding his feelings about, bitterness, his upbringing and lack of anyone being there for him or even caring about him. It was repetitive in others way as well it just seemed to be hashing out the same issues and problems and there for was a little wordy when it did not need to be.

Jessi's parents have always worked at the mansion of Trent his father. They still do.
Jessi has grown up with him, but also saw him change during the years. When she declared her love for him, he broke her heart in a big way.
She thought she was over him, but now he is back. First Trent is mean to her again. But is he telling the truth or only building a wall around himself?

Trent has been hurt in the past by his parents (and others we found out later in the story) and doesn't want his heart to be involved. Jessi is a big risk for that, so he is being mean to her.
But he is also attracted to her and when they meet again late in the evening sparks fly and more.
What follows is hot, even if she is a little drunk.

They both keep a distance afterwards, especially Jessi. And Trent let's work get in the way.
But when Jessi is about to leave they have a second very hot night.

They both are to blame for not talking with each other, only having hot moments in bed.
So what follows is hurt on both sides.
Can it become okay again between them? For that you have to read the book.
A great story to read. Although the bullying at her new work place made me angry.

it is not all about you

When I first looked at the title of the book I thought oh my God this is going to be something to do with prostitutes well I'd like to say it doesn't.

Reading about Jessie and Trent will give you a different perspective about sometimes you never know what's going on in a person's life when they treat you like crap when at one point you might have been a friend. Room Service is kind of like a second chance novel in more ways than one.

Dysfunctional family, rich, arrogant, self-centered, silent or isolated are just some of the words to describe Trent. Jessie on the other hand is the daughter of the housekeeper and Butler raised in a mansion but never truly belonging. There are things that Jesse needs to recognize about herself that she does have value and that no one can make you be small or feel small unless you let them.

On the whole this book ranks four star because it did hold my attention from beginning to end even when there were times I wanted to shake the two leads. You'll find that a book that wants to bring me to violence sometimes it's not a bad book.

I have read a few books from Summer Cooper and as with the other ones, I really enjoyed this one too. I thought the story was well written and the author has a way of writing that makes you feel like you’re “there” with the characters as the story progresses. This one involves Jessi, the daughter of the maid for the rich family and Trent, the son from the rich family. Jessi has had a crush on Trent since they were young and when she finally gets the courage to tell Trent, he basically makes her feel like a fool. So, at that point, Jessi is pretty much crushed and decides to move on. Fast forward some years and Trent returns home and finds Jessi as the head pastry chef at his family’s hotel. The sparks are still there and Jessi is still crushing on Trent, but does he return any of her feelings? There is a lot going on in this book and I was really happy to see how the relationship took form (even though I didn’t like Trent in a few places) and was thrilled with how the story ended. Buy this book and you’ll see for yourself what a fun, quick, steamy romance this one is. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
