Another book of heroines gone stupid!!
*****Warning..... Spoilers*****
Read at your own risk..
This heroine's friend sees the guy she's dating at a club kissing another woman and she told her friend "maybe there's an explanation" really? This is the woman who's your best friend and you're telling her that there might be an explanation on why the guys she is dating was groping and kissing OW? Friends like the heroine who needs enemies..
She falls for the first guy who pays her attention, she doesn't even ask him his name and when she finds out that he was her boss and he kissed her stupid she even forgets that he's her boss and that he didn't even bother telling her his last name. She even said that she falls quickly for men and that she becomes putty in the hero's hands.
A guy she just met literally couple of weeks ago and she's having sex the first time without protection. She said "I'm on the pill and I trust you" bitch please he could have crabs for all you know and let's be honest she's sleeping with a guy she doesn't even know and she's trusting him? The only thing she knows is his last name and that he's her boss, she doesn't know how old he is, if he has a wife, a kid, she hasn't even bother asking him any details of his life. She doesn't know if he's a killer but as long he's hot and he's paying attention to her then it's all fine and dandy.
And what was with her calling her parents by their first names?
God how she annoyed me.
He doesn't take her out anymore and she's wondering why he hasn't taken her out, instead of asking him right away she just take it when he says that he's tired. Maybe he doesn't want to take you out because you're giving the milk for free and you don't let him even work for it. Maybe he has a wife and 20 kids? Maybe he's a killer and he's planning to chop you up in pieces? but since you haven't bother finding about this guy as long he's paying attention to you then it's all fine. She then tried to get mad at him but why even get mad at him if she becomes putty later in his hands.?
Low and behold ladies oh but that's not all he's been stalking her, he knew her from before when she was 8 years old and they spent summer together as kids. He's been watching/stalking over her for years.
I can't continue with this stupid shit! I'm afraid I'll become stupid just like these heroines..
i should have just left it like that. Her father faked his death, he's on witness protection don't even asked me why at this point I was skimming, her mother married his best friend. Hero's wife is very present in the book, harassing them, calling the hero nonstop and going to see him for stupid reason.
The wife harassed the heroine. Told her things about her and the hero.
“Thanks, Addison. You’re really sweet. I can see why Andrew is so attracted to you.” She smiled as she leaned across the table. “I’m sure I don’t have to tell you what an animal he is in bed.”
I swallowed hard.
“No. You don’t have to tell me.”
“Of course I don’t.” She laughed as she waved her hand. “Sex was the best part of our relationship, and I’m sure it’s the same for you too. After we lost our baby, Andrew knew how sad I was, so he suggested we try to have another one. We fucked like rabbits every day, but it just didn’t happen for us. That’s when I became depressed. But with Andrew’s help and love and support, I got the help I needed."
I couldn't believe him when he said after she lost the baby he never had sex with her. Their relationship was based on pure lies. He even lies to her about her father, he knew he was very much alive and her father paid the hero to watch over her during the last 9 years.
The heroine had no sense of loyalty, she said she loved her mother but never bothered telling her that her love of her life, her husband and the father of her child was alive. What kind of daughter does this to her mother? She deserves everything that the hero did to her and more. Pathetic excuse of a woman. Woman like this give us a bad name.
Hero gets accused of killing his wife. Too bad he was innocent. He should have rot in hell right along with this pathetic heroine.
3 ⭐⭐⭐ - OK decent reads ======================= This book was on my avoid list. But a friend challenged me and I read the book. I confess I do not like this instalove thing and such, but I persevered and ended up thinking it was a decent read. Our hero is too aggressive for my taste, he screams and gets angry with our heroine. Our heroine is dominated by hormones and does not notice the obvious signs that something is wrong with his behavior. Obvious signs of a man who does not want to go out in public with a woman. He is married and is trying to get a divorce. But he does not tell her and she feels betrayed. We have a plot, which I realized at the beginning, involving the disappearance of the heroine's father. We have a mentally unstable wife who does not want to separate from the hero. Secrets of the past. A stalker chasing our heroine and so on. Cliche. All very fast and without depth. But it works. Nothing unforgettable or that stays in the reader's memory, but I've read worse things. Thank God is KU!
I recently wrote a review with this same setup. h meets a sexy H, they start dating, but he wants to keep things on the DL. She ignores the red flags until she’s blindsided by his secret. This book may only appeal to certain readers, probably those who enjoyed the billionaire romances that were popular in the 2010’s. It was very insta, unrealistic, and the h was quite clingy and forgiving, so FYI if that’s not your thing.
Here are some snippets to give you a feel…
The blurb pretty much sets up the entire plot, Addison meets Andrew London (the 25-year-old CEO of one of the largest architecture companies in the world) when she moves to NYC for a job. She ignores that he never wants to go out or acknowledge her at work because she loves him so much. Stuff happens and the secret comes out, but the blurb is a bit misleading because the journey really doesn’t have much to do with him.
Actually, the “secret betrayal” part is squared away pretty quickly, so there isn’t an abundance of groveling. I know this book was beat up by some safety readers and I can be super laid back, but I didn’t find what he did that bad. Yes, he kept a secret, two actually, (one he wasn’t allowed to share) but he was trying to fix it.
Bottom Line- There wasn’t anything wrong with the book, it just wasn’t a good fit for me. I pretty much outgrew the billionaire romances about 10 years ago. Things got a little silly, but I did enjoy the crazy ex.
Safety MAJOR SPOILERS- I’d only read if safety is a hard limit.
If we were robots... I imagine this romance book would be passable, but since we are not I will chance at expressing how this book came across... stiff, boring, no emotion, predictable, lacking real life content.
this heroine, who by all accounts, leads a perfect life with the perfect friends and now getting a perfect job, has no real beef with the world. The lack of a genuine personality was only exacerbated by lackluster performance and horribly lame dialogue with everyone. Not an original thought or sentence was produced from her being.
As for the hero... Zzzzzzzzzzzz!
Not to be a ballbuster, i know penning a book is lots of work, however some sort of twist or color to their monotonous lives would have heightened this story to a certain degree. But nowhere, at no time, did I, as reader, benefit from this. I was so focused on finding when the flow would change and deepen that I found myself approaching the final twist when it finally occurred to me
1 eye-roll-star. I am so disappointed in this story!!!! I LOVED the Forever Series and Ms. Lynn completely DROPPED THE BALL with this mess of a novel. 😕
I don’t like to give reviews with spoilers but for this one it’s a MUST!
So stop reading if you don’t wanna hear this....
⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️
I put it down soooooo many times and swore I won’t go back an subject myself to its drivel of a story...but that’s just not my style and I had hoped that there would be something Sandi Lynn-able about it.
The characters were NOT developed at ALL and I couldn’t stand the main character at all. She called her parents by their first names and what 25 year old adult still lives and relies on her parents THAT much!!! Seriously?!?!?!
Her two best friends were at her beck and call 24-7 and she was a horrible friend. I WOULD NEVER BE HER FRIEND !!!
She fell in love with some stranger who told her what to do and was super demanding right from the get go. Can you say stalker much????
Here are a few more problems I have (quick and easy version): 1. Witness Protection Program 2. Childhood love age 5-8 3. Crazy current wife 4. Dead baby that was only reason for loveless marriage 5. Bull crap about not being able to divorce because one party won’t sign paperwork. a) the one who wouldn’t sign was in a fucking mental institution! Mental patients who are committed, give up their legal rights to sign legal paperwork. b) if one person refuses to sign the paperwork, the court ends the marriage after 6 months in most states. (Religion aside) 6. The fact that she was committed to a mental Institute is reason enough for the courts to grant the divorce in most states (Especially New York.) 7. Andrew wanted to take his divorce case to the SUPREME COURT!!! WTF?!?!?!? It’s not like they don’t have anything better to do.
I usually enjoy Sandi Lynn’s work but this one disappointed me BIG TIME. I was very let down by this because the past books of hers that I’ve read were so good then this came and meh, I’m disappointed.
Oh the suspense, sexiness, action, and angst in this book! I could not put it down!!! I loved the story between Andrew and Addison!! There were so many surprises I didn’t see coming.....good and bad. I cried, laughed, swooned (because Andrew) and sat on the edge of my seat. I highly recommend this read to anyone who like it all in their romance! Very well done!!!
Behind His Lies is a good addition to anyone's library. If you are familiar with Sandi Lynn then you know her style of writing. If you this is your first book by the author buy it, read it and come to your own conclusions.
It’s a little bit different, compare her pervious books, of course, the millionaire still there but did added some mysterious elements, even they are not that strong with reason, it’s a good try.
When u wrote or read the same old same old, you will lose the interests, motivation to follow what’s next. After read so many books, I knew that we, the readers are so difficult to please. So, thank you so much your effort and input to make us happy.
This was read in one sitting. I couldn't put it down!

I loved this book from cover to cover I don't want to ruin the rest all I can say it is a nice treat. Amazing work Sandi.
I don’t even have words................. to say that I love every one of this authors books, is an understatement!!! ( except for the book prior to this one😕)even that one was love/hate! I thought this was a beautiful story of love and how deep it ran. Andrews love for Addison was touching. I just wished it came with a lot less deceit.. I get why he had to keep certain secrets but sheesh. How beautiful was her reunion with Charlie? even if she had to temporarily lose in order to win. And I’m always surprised when it doesn’t turn out to be the person I thought would be the villain. I love that. Please keep these novels coming, this was definitely worth staying up till almost four in the morning to read it cover to cover. E X C E P T I O N A L R E A D !!!!!
I loved this story, it was so unexpected, I did not see it coming. Sandi Lynn I love your mind, please continue to share with us, your fans. OMG where do I start. Andrew and Addison grew up to be amazing adults, but they knew each other long ago as kids. Every summer their parents rented homes next door to each other in the Hamptons. But, what they believed to be tragic events Addison never went back to Hamptons again. After college graduation Addison is offered a job ar architecture firm. Andrew is CEO of this firm. This story has twist and turns, ex wives, persons believed to be dead, stalkers, lies, deception..........without giving away the entire story for others, purchase this book. You will not be disappointed.
Wow! Addison, has graduated college, needing a job, lands a job in New York, finds hot, attractive man, both are attracted to each other. Now Addison finds out her new interest is her new boss, Andrew CEO, feeling lied too, angry, deceived, hurt, she has to decide if she can forgive after talking it out. Things are full of secrets, drama, dramatic intentions, where will this story take us. A great story, learning to open your heart, have faith, trust your heart, and your partner, and the love you share. Beautiful story, loved it.❤️
I say this in my reviews whenever I read a Sandi Lynn book and I will say it again.... Sandi Lynn does it again! I love this book so much and was surprised throughout the book. I thought this story was just a normal girl falls in love with a billionaire but No it is so much more. There are things that happened that you don't expect and at one point I even screamed out loud to the point my husband was looking at me funny. I love Sandi Lynn's books and get them without reading what the book was about. Thank you Sandi for another fabulous story!!!
I loved this book and could not put it down. The love story of Addison and Andrew was not perfect. They faced many trials in there was a lot of angst and suspense. I loved all the twists and turns that happen and many you don’t see coming. Most of all, I loved how much Andrea loved Addison. He’s a man and he could’ve made better choices, but his love for Addison is evident even when she doesn’t see it. Another five star read from Sandi Lynn!
Andrew was a wee bit obsessed with Addison. You do find out their connection. I didn't like the whole Ellie thing. Yes, he should have told Addison from the beginning. If he was so crazy about her why did he not pursue her years earlier. Then Ellie would never have happened. Why'd she call her parents by their first names? I'm 41 and still say mom and dad. The epilogue was nice. It gave insight on her roommates/friends Jasper and Emma.

Love reading Sandi lynn books and it was a great read.
I was guessing all the way through this book saying he knew more than was letting on. Addison having lost her dad at a young age it did affect her in many way's but she is a great charactor to have in this book. Andrew a self made man running his fathers business and hiding things along the way.
Really good read alot os surprisese and could not put the book down once i started reading it.
5 stars. Sandi has written another best seller, I absolutely loved reading Behind His Lies and meeting two beautiful people who souls belonged to each other. I love everything Sandi has written and own everyone of her books. I look forward to the next best seller. I absolutely recommend that you buy this book, you won't be disappointed.
Another beautifully written book by this incredibly talented author. The characters were amazing and made me feel so much; the connection they shared was off the charts hot. So many emotions while reading, and the secrets and suspense had me gasping and holding my breath. A must read!!!!!
Well this is slightly different from Sandi Lynn's other books with only Addisons POV Still I really enjoyed it and could not put it down. I worked out the plot of the story as I was reading..... But that did not effect the reading..... Well done Sandi Lynn you failed to disappoint me again, keep the brilliant books coming.........
This book was a little different than the usual Sandi Lynn reads. There was a lot of unexpected twist and turns...a little mystery was woven into the story.
“...sometimes we have to lie to protect the ones we love.”
There was chemistry, lust, love, jealousy, secrets, friendship, mystery and steaminess. This book has so many great elements that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
I have grown to love this Author's books so much, that I have gone back & purchased one's I haven't read. This story of Addison & Andrew drew you in from the very beginning. The twists & turns in this story kept you wondering what was going to happen next. Who was lying, & who you could trust. Seriously had a hard time putting this one down!
