Texas Free! Texas Strong!
A battle cry rallied a new nation.
But a storm is brewing which could challenge the Texans' way of life.
A warning is issued ... you better leave well enough alone because you don't know nothin' about Texas Strong.

The Lone Star Series continues with Texas Strong, book four in Author Bobby Akart's latest post-apocalyptic thriller fiction series.

Nuclear armageddon struck the United States and Texas received a glancing blow. The Armstrong family is reunited and now they must turn their attention to the threats which exist all around them.

Through prudent planning, Texas protected its power grid from the impact of the devastating electromagnetic pulse attack, but was it enough? The new nation is but an island surrounded by chaos and devastation. Food is running out for its nearly thirty million citizens while millions of refugees press against the borderfencing erected to keep them out.

The pressure is on and an unexpected catalyst is about to create havoc for all Texans, including the Armstrong Ranch.

The Lone Star Series is a thought-provoking, gut-wrenching look into a post apocalyptic country devastated by nuclear destruction.

Would you be ready to make the tough decisions to protect your family and survive?

AUTHOR'S NOTE REGARDING PG-13 RATING

The Lone Star Series does not contain strong language. It is intended to entertain and inform audiences of all ages, including teen and young adults. Although some scenes depict the realistic threat our nation faces from an EMP attack and nuclear destruction, and the societal collapse which will result in the aftermath, it does not contain graphic scenes typical of other books in the post-apocalyptic genre. I believe more of our young people need to lead a preparedness lifestyle. Studies show that our millennials do not have any of the basic survival skills. By writing this series free of vulgarities and gratuitous sexual innuendo, I've intended it to be suitable for everyone. Thanks.

It's Christmas Eve and the Armstrongs are gathered at the ranch, celebrating their great good fortune. Elsewhere, Americans are dying by the thousands, starving, diseased, victims of the basic depravity of mankind.

Can you picture an America without power, without fuel for vehicles that don't operate, no transportation for the supplies and medicines so desperately needed? Major cities have been consumed by the nuclear fires of North Korea's missiles, before the United States retaliated with sufficient bombs to reduce North Korea to glowing rubble.

Yet the lights still work in Texas. A proud Texas, a strong Texas, an independent nation of Texas! Texas had finally made good on their threat and seceded from the powerless USA. The borders were closed, entrance to the nation of Texas severely restricted as throngs the desperate populace piled up on the borders. Somewhere, sometime, the fence is going to fail and the floodgates would open, mobs of starving people would overflow and overpower anyone in their way. And somewhere within the mob will be the North Korean special operation forces seeking to cause havoc in the suffering nation, to further disrupt, degrade and destroy any opposition.

Major and Miss Lucy are festive with their children home. The Rodeo Kids - Cooper, Riley and Palmer- have returned from Canada after making a long dangerous trip south through a powerless nation where kindness is rare and violence is common. Most exchanges of goods took place at gunpoint. Duncan had returned from his mission to North Korea to assassinate Kim Jong Un. And he'd brought his Korean girlfriend home with him. Sook was a quickly made a part of the family and everyone settled in for a nice celebration with their ranch family and friends. Could be the last one for a while. Maybe longer.

This series could be a future history based on current world events and the political climate prevalent throughout the world. Whether prescience or a deep understanding of political science, the author exhibits remarkably keen observations. This story is also a handbook for survival, a training manual for preparing for disasters and surviving afterwards. Much better than posing wild assumptions and answering with a press of the magic cure-all button, Bobby chooses to entertain and instruct. You get amazing characters, a kick-ass plot and several hours of excitement and entertainment, and maybe, when you finish, you'll have learned a thing or two about surviving.

I heartily recommend this book and this series. Read it for entertainment. Read it for exciting action. Read it to learn about preparing for survival. READ IT!!

What can you say about a Bobby Akart book except…WOW! As a post-apocalyptic story, this series is the most realistic one I have read. There are no superhero type characters that come in guns blazing with one eye closed. What you read about are everyday people like you and I who just live each day trying their damndest to survive with what they have prepared before the SHTF. This story revolves around the Armstrong family. Texas born and raised. They have learned that preparing for that “what if” day was well worth the effort when the unthinkable had happened. America had been attacked and brought to her knees by North Korea. Only Texas had the foreseeable sense to prepare the grid for such a catastrophe, but would it be enough to help save the people of the great Republic of Texas? Time on that will only tell. Texas Strong is one of the most powerful book so far in this series. Filled with emotional scenes that had me in tears along with a few surprises that I DID NOT see coming, I finished the story with apprehension not knowing what was going to happen next. To say I liked this story is an understatement. I LOVED this addition to the series. The Armstrong family have become my friends due to the realistic way they are written about. They hurt, I hurt, their joy is my joy. To some that may sound a little weird, but if you have read any of Bobby Akart’s stories, you understand. His writing is filled with details, written so that as you read along, you envision each scene in your mind as if a movie was playing. One thing I love about this writer’s books is that you can recommend them to anyone and not be embarrassed to do it. There are no surprise sex scenes, no graphic killings with a lot of shocking blood and guts and no profanity which a lot of authors throw in for the shock factor. No, you can recommend Bobby’s stories to your grandmother and not have her coming at you with a switch to your backside. So grab a copy for yourself and one for your grandma and enjoy a well written, highly emotional and entertaining story that will stay with you long after that last page has been turned.

A Story With A Lot of Heart

5 out of 5 stars
I'm not one to write spoilers in my reviews and I'm not going to start now but I will warn you - Texas Strong ends on one of the biggest cliffhangers I've ever read.  Akart had me hook, line, and sinker with the ending.  I knew it was coming and I still said: "Come on Bobby!" when it ended the way that it did.

Texas Strong tells the continued story of the Armstrong family and their quest to stay alive.  There are some politics in Texas Strong but I think that Akart tried to skirt the line a little (and I'm thankful for that).  I can't tell where he's going with it (he's still leading up to what will be a crazy finale) but I know that everything he's putting in the book is there for a reason.

I love the pureness of these stories.  Akart is able to write a story that feels real, wholesome, and incredibly realistic.  The things that happen to these characters are completely believable and would probably happen darn close to how he's written them.  I just love that about them. I feel like I'm learning something and being entertained at the same time.  You can't find that in most books.

The family aspect in the entire Lone Star Series has been refreshing too.  The Armstrongs are a welcoming family and one that is Texas Strong and Texas Proud for sure.  They have strong family values and are there for each other.  It's nice to read about a strong family getting through tough times.

There was a quote near the very end of Texas Strong that teared me up today on my drive home. There was a scene between two of the men of the ranch talking about their ladies - it was perfect and perfectly needed in this book.  It was a nice break from death and destruction.

Overall, Texas Strong might be my favorite book in the series yet - and I know I'm in for even more.  I almost took .5 away from Akart just because of the ending - but it would take away from an otherwise perfect book in my eyes.

Texas Strong through Texas Struggle

Texas Strong starts after the reunion of the Armstrong family. The Rodeo Kids, Palmer, Cooper and Riley, have made it back to Texas from Calgary, Canada against staggering odds.

Unbelievably, Duncan Armstrong is rescued by a Christian North Korean man and his daughter, Sook. The two of them manage to get back into the United States and to the family ranch about a day after their siblings.

Texas, the new nation, is under tremendous pressure from multiple fronts. Refugees are dying to get in, the President of the United States is collaborating, unknowingly, with the deep state cabal, to take Texas back.

And the mysterious gathering of North Korean troops, from places all over America, paint a sinister picture of who really stands a chance at pulling our country together again.

You'd think that by the 5th book in the series that my nerves would have settled down. You would be wrong! There is so much at stake and, as usual, Bobby Akart leaves you hanging at the end. Onward to the next one!

Sometimes, when you feel like you have reached rock bottom, something comes along that just lifts your spirit up and reminds you that you are not alone.

This is one series that will hook you right from the start with plenty of action and adventure. Texas Strong picks up where Lines in the Sand left off. With plenty of unexpected twists this book will grip your emotions and keep you turning pages.

“As the children of God, our fate rests in His hands. We’re all knocking on Heaven’s door as we persevere in this new life. Together, as a family, we will enjoy Life’s greatest blessing — our love for one another, and it is our love that will help us endure what comes our way.”

The action continues in this, the 4th book in the series! But at least the family got to spend Christmas together. Duncan is a major character in this one as he intent on finding who left him to die in N. Korea. He has it figured out and is put in a position to investigate as he is made a commander in the Quick Response Force. There are N. Koreans in the states, however and Holloway is leading them into Texas. Lots of action as gunfights seem to be a daily occurrence. The plot thickens as we add an assassin to our midst. The ending will rival “Who shot JR” for intensity. Highly recommend you read the first 3 books in the series first. As with the other books, this one is family friendly.

Bobby Akart continues to amaze and entertain me with his Lone Star Series. Book 4: Texas Strong continues the story of a Secessionist Texas in the wake of an EMP attack on America. Our characters continue to survive and prosper amid attacks and deadly situations they are thrust in daily. Being from Oklahoma, this book makes me want to get a Texas Drivers License. Upon visiting and learning about The Alamo and its History, I realized I was already a Texan in my mindset. I highly recommend this series.

Texans Taking a Stand Against Foreign Invasion

The Lone Star Series leaves the reader in fear of where the assassin 's bullet speeding away from his rifle will end? The Texans are trying their hardest to protect themselves and their families from being destroyed completely by an invasion of Koreans. Bobby Akarts' novels are interesting and filled with viable characters that you, the reader, get attached to. The author's knowledge of military intelligence and intrigue will bring you back for more.

Attention to detail and story line is great

Have been reading this series ravenously. I love the detail and the way you describe your characters and locations, as well as the different viewpoints.I am a little disappointed though, by the "shiny new trucks" the bad guys got... these shouldn't be running due to the EMP. You might want a new set of editors or reviewers!
But as a rule you don't deviate, and while it kind of threw a hitch in the authenticity, story is still great.

Another emotionally charged, character driven from the incredibly talented Bobby Akart. This is the fourth book in the series and each book ramps up the action and tension from the previous book. WOW, what a cliffhanger of an ending to this compelling story of a family trying to survive during the terrifying result of an EMP and nuclear attack. I can hardly wait for the last two books in this riveting series.

BA. has. penned the 4th novel of the TLSS which invites disaster to the new Texas Republic. Traitors high in the US and the Texas Republic are doing their best to destroy what remains of the US. The Armstrong Family men are coerced away from the ranch with jobs in the newly formed Texas Ranger Program. As the UN. becomes involved the conspiracy grows. Cliffhanger, Texas strong style!

Wow, Having just finished book 4, all I can think is cliffhanger, Texas strong style! This is another captivating and entertaining novel. Not one that you slowly savor, but one to quickly devour, to get to the next. I'm glad the series has been completed, as it would have been torture to leave this new Texas world for months. This review is thus necessarily short, so I can keep reading....

Apocalypse meets preparation is the meat and potatoes in this series about the Armstrong family from Texas. Political intrigue and a multitude of foreign terrorists on our soil are the side dishes. Spice it up with endearing characters and you've got a great meal. Each book brings us closer to dessert.

Excellent story line

Once again Bobby Akart has developed a story that grabs your attention and forces you to continue reading until you reach the end which is usually only the beginning of the next installment. Texas Strong is the 4th book in the Lone Star series and the real action is just getting started.

If you like action you will love this series,

Can't help imagining Roy Rodgers and Dale Evans in the parts of the matriarchs in this story but, well liked. I am torn about Texas seceding right in the middle of an invasion where millions of Americans are slaughtered. Some would call that Treason and they would be right. However, the story is very good and I plan on finishing. Hopefully somehow, Texas and America will mend fences.

TEXAS STRONG

One of the best EMP series I've read! A eye opener at that. What a great way to learn a few truths about what could happen to any country due to a EMP attack. Lone Star deals with the U.S.of A. and a EMP attack. Texas being the one state left with a electric grid.

I hate Holloway

Getting tired of the evil Holloway always winning. I also don’t understand why everyone is oblivious to the danger from North Korea. Time for the good guys to kick some butt.
