This is a decent beginning to the series, I suppose, but not much actually happens. It's basically like watching the teaser to an episode of Buffy.

I loved this new instalment to the Archie Horror comics! Looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun, I can’t wait to read the rest of the series! Definitely recommend if you like the Archie comics and supernatural beings.

I love this series already. It’s once again Archie with a twist. There are classic tropes, like V being disappointed that A made a date with B first, and she has to settle for Reggie, but then, the horror elements are present and cancel out any sense of normalcy you may feel when reading this. The flashback to how it all began is great, and the opening scene is even better. I know I’m late to this series, but I’m really glad I’m reading it now, and I can’t wait to read more.

1. I didn't have much expectations for this, and boy did this throw me through the windshield with the unexpected force of how amazing it is. 2. I'm not a Veronica fan. At all. And I had feelings for her. What? How? Who gave the Smallwoods the power over my empathy? 3. The art is flawless. The panels and the pacing are amazing.

This comic is my favourite out of the Archie Horror-line. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE COME OUT ON TIME!

Quite a good start to a series. I'm intrigued. Kind of wished I waited for them to finish a volume...I'm not very good at waiting.

I've said it in my Afterlife With Archie #1 review and I'll say it here again. "First and foremost I do not understand why Veronica and Betty fight over Archie. Is he heir to some throne? Does he have lots of money? Archie doesn't even look that appealing." I do not understand the love triangle. Can someone comment or message me why Veronica looked like she got stabbed in the neck when Archie decided to hang out with Betty instead of her? I am telling you, if those two ditched Archie and dated each other, the world would be simpler and so would their life.

I really enjoyed this comic, I loved the artwork, very detailed and vibrant with the colors. Honestly I think when I saw Veronica bust out a stake I got Buffy feels and my mind went to mush.

This was a solid first issue and if I come across #2 I will be reading it.

5 Stars! ★★★★★
I cant believe I found another great comic series, in similar taste to Blossom 666. This is also an Archie Comic but on steroids. There is blood, death, cursing and hot girls asking for body shots. It’s a modern day Archie comic, and I like it.

In this comic series, Veronica gets bitten by a vampire, and hence turns into one herself. Struggling with her new powers, hunger and near death car accident...it is one crazy ride. And I am buckled in. :)

- THEY PLAYED IT TOO SAFE
- pretty much Buffy the vampire slayer
- i really like the art but it’s noticeably inconsistent
- the potential for a lot of campy fun .. wasted

I love it even more the second time around! What can I say, I've always been a Veronica gal, but seeing her as a vampire is just double the fun! <3

"That's right, dumbass! Car beats face!"

Boom, vampires! I was inspired to read this based on the TV show "Archie's Weird Mysteries", particularly the three back-to-back episodes with the Riverdale vampires. In the episodes, the plot is more or less that Veronica is "the chosen one" who must destroy them, and so turning her into a vampire is the main objective of said vampires.

So far, from quick easy-quick read, we don't get what the objective of the vampires are, but anyway, Veronica gets bitten--yeah, not much of a spoiler there, given the title. Same segway into the Archie world where Betty and Veronica are both competing for the redhead's affections, with one teeny tiny twist that made me love this immediately:

Veronica gets changed

I am liking the way the Riverdale crew is being moved into the horror genre. It started with the town and now each character is getting to have their own time as a classic monster. Each seems to face the challenge of whether to go full on evil or maintain some humanity.
This is Veronica Lodge so we know she go bad without little provocation, though if it could help her get and keep Archie then evil would work.
Love the artwork here which is a bit different from some of the more recent comics. Would have liked a little more dialogue since this was almost a silent and did move forward really because of the lack. Looking forward to more.

I personally thought this was a really good addition to the revamped Archie books, and of the two Archie Horror books that I've read (this and Jughead the Hunger) it is definitely my favourite. I'm not usually into horror, but this graphic novel focuses more on the characterisations than it does on the gore, and I feel it's very true to how the characters would act in this situation.

I was a little confused as to what the relationship status was supposed to be with Betty, Veronica, and Archie as it didn't seem like there were any official couples, but in most of the books Veronica and Archie are an exclusive couple, so I'm not sure what the deal was there, but aside from that there was nothing that struck me as out of character.

I have noticed that this is apparently part of a series, but honestly I think it works perfectly well as a one shot. I may pick up the others at some point as this was a very enjoyable read, but I'm in no rush to do so as the story ended well in my opinion. Solid 4 stars.

Veronica takes a walk on the dark side in this Archie Horror series as she develops a craving for blood after being bitten by an ancient vampire. The teen queen we all know and love is no longer the same Veronica. Will she give in to her craving for blood or stop the threat of the undead?

As other reviewers have mentioned, this was a quick read which was almost irritating. The series has great potential and the illustrations provide an eerie quality with its contrasting colors among the dark panels. The mood has been set- let’s just see if this next installment gives us more. I need to know what or who is at stake.

Veronica was never my favourite as a kid. I did not understand why Archie didn’t choose the kinder, sweeter Betty and be done with it. As an adult, I’m much more enthralled with self-assuredness. I think maybe I’ve accepted my own bossy Veronica-ness and given up on the attempt to be a nice-girl.

In spite of presenting a vampire version of her, this story keeps Veronica’s meanness in check. It gives her some room to be more than the school bitch and shows that her self-centredness doesn’t come at the expense of a fierce loyalty to her friends.

Woohoo! A new Archie horror series! I've always had a soft spot for Veronica, especially in more contemporary versions of the comics where she's not a one-dimensional spoiled brat. She's still a spoiled brat, but she has a heart too, and I guess we get to see if that heart has a lust for blood in this series. YAY!

I expected more, but I think the biggest problem is trying to cram too much into this first issue. There's potential here and I hope future issues will showcase it better.

But it's worth noting that even with that story-telling limitation, this was a fun read and the old school pulp-ish feeling artwork is absolutely gorgeous.

Picked up the first issue to see if I'd like this. Uh, yeah. I liked it. The story was just the right mix of silly, ridiculous, and thrilling for me to very much enjoy it. I also really liked the art style as well, it was a nice homage to the classic comics (while also showing that it takes place in our current time period).

Excited to hear that there is another Archie Horror series, however, this story was lacking depth. I know it’s the 1st issue, but it didn’t grab my attention. I thought it was going to be more entertaining, but it’s only the 1st, so I will continue to truck on through it.

I’m not gonna lie I just picked this up to fill my goodreads challenge but now I want to read the other issues! Veronica is so cute in this art style, which is so mesmerizing to look at by the way. It’s got a nice fever dream feel to it. Don’t even get me started on the cover art.

As first issues go, this was really well done and the art style is beautiful (in a horror way). Excited for more!

I really enjoyed the panel layout (slanted rectangles with large white spaces between). I also enjoyed the focus on Veronica for this story. I'll have to check out the trade.
