This book had an interesting plot. Chloe meets her mate who happens to be married with kids, and he rejects her. I don’t want to give away spoilers, but this isn’t the typical “her mate comes around” (like Rejection or Life after Rejection) or “she finds a new mate” (like Catching Genesis) I guess the plot is Chloe’s path to her HEA, but it is a windy road with pot holes, and I needed to ask for directions several times. I found it confusing..her mate seemed to have split personalities...his inner dialogue would make a decision one chapter, then 2 chapters later it’s like it never happened. I sort of have a headache from whiplash from the jumping and changing of love interests around. Midway through the POV ‘s add Maddison to the bunch-personally I didn’t see what her POV added. I agreed with her little subplot to move her mate out of the way, but I didn’t need her POV. The timeline gets a little wonky towards the end. I assume it was to show similarity between Chloe and Maddison’s situations (although again, M’s has already happened and I really didn’t need more details.

Overall, ok read. Definitely unique, just had some editing and plot flow issues for me.

I was so freaking annoyed with this book . First of all this says it's a adult book in my mind there is sex to make it adult . Blah .... second this girl is all over the place there were 4 guys in total she was interested in . The last guy only started being a thing near the end . This was not your normal shifter book .

Ok so why did I give this book 5 stars you ask ? This was by far such a great gut wrenching book if you get passed all her problems that you didn't like you start actually getting involved in the story so much hurt and pain I had tears in my eyes . I did not think the book was going to end the way it did and even though you are used to the basic story line of wolf mates I loved the way it ended . The feeling you go through of anger to laughing and then crying then the hurt feeling in your gut then happy .

You fooled me in thinking this was adult it's not but I'm not really mad .

I received this free for an honest review. The story is a werewolf story with a twist. Werewolves have one true mate who they are destined to be with, but what happens when your true mate doesn't want you. This is Chloe's problem her destined mate has rejected her. The story lives up to it's name with Xavier twisting Chloe's feeling back and forward. There are many twist in this story and lots of conflicts. They do seem to end up with the right person in the end.

When I started reading this book, I instantly was pulled in. Not because I’m one of the people who can’t put a book down, because trust and believe that I can and do. This one, wanted me to read it. Maybe you understand me, maybe you don’t. But if you are a reader, then you know what a: ‘true calling’ is when a book won’t allow you to put it down. In layman’s terms, this is when you set the book down, and try to do something else, and you worry about the characters and if they will do what they need to, because you see… you stopped reading they are now stuck in time. Waiting on you to allow them to finish their journeys. But because you closed the book, or sat your kindle or nook down, now everyone is paused. There, now do you understand? Stop rolling your eyes, I am not strange!

The book, ‘Twisting You’ was twisting my arm to finish it. I had things to do, and couldn’t because of Chloe and Xavier, the main characters in this book.

This is a werewolf story, and the thing about werewolves, they have one mate which is supposed to be their perfect counterpart. And on Chloe’s eighteenth birthday, Xavier denies her, and the thing is, Xavier is not only supposed to be her perfect mate, he has always been her teacher. Now if you can only imagine, this just causes Chloe’s World as she knows it to just crumble around her. To be denied by her alleged perfect counterpart, and on her eighteenth birthday, is not just heart breaking.

Chloe decides to put on her big girl panties, and show ‘Mr. Clark’ that she can do this. Which Xavier hated it when she called him that, but he was her teacher after all, and he did also choose to deny her.

What’s worse, now Chloe was to be expelled from School for lack of grades and participation. Expelled, this was going to go over well at home.

It seemed like to Chloe, it was one wrong after another and they just kept happening. And all she wanted, all anyone usually wants is a happening ending, and true love. To Chloe, this seemed like this was not going to be the case.

Xavier was older then her, maybe that was part of the problem. And Xavier doesn’t honestly want to let Chloe go, but he has too has problems of his own to deal with. You see, Xavier is married, to a human none-the-less, and with two children.

The road to love is a hard bumpy one, and sometimes it takes time, to figure out, what is the right path to take, or if there even is a right one, or if it’s even the right time.

In the case with Xavier and Chloe, time will tell, and unfortunately, it requires that you buy this book, to determine if Chloe and Xavier actually get together, or if Chloe moves on and finds someone else. Because I am not going to ruin it for you.

I will, however, tell you that this book is an excellent read, and would make a great romance movie. I give this book five-stars, and enjoyed it a lot. I think you will too. It already has a lot of reviews, which should tell you that it’s worth checking out! So, what are you waiting for?

In the werewolf community when you turn 18 you are able to find you mate. Chloe, the Alpha's daughter, found hers, Xavier, but he refuses her. She used to be a really good student, making A's and playing sports, but after he refuses her, she does not care about those things anymore. She only want him, and will try everything she can to get his attention, it helps that he is one of her teachers. Faced with the potential of explosion, she is forced to try and catch up on her grades, in order to become focused she must accept Xavier's refusal and allow her heart to break. Xavier has his own secrets that he must protect and that does not include Chloe, but when he starts to notice she is ready to give up and move on, he can not seem to let her go. Chloe's best friend and boyfriend Dan, loves her and wants to be her mate, he will do anything and everything to take care and protect her. So when Chloe tells him about Xavier he comes up with a plan to take her away for a couple weeks with his parents and brother Alex. However they both know sooner of later Dan will meet his mate and Chloe does not want to take that choice from him as hers was. Later, when Chloe is faced with two broken hearts, the most unexpected person would step in and fill those dark holes with sunshine and heal them.

I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars. The story was well written and thought out. I did feel however that some spots were over dramatic and repetitive. But it did not take you out of the book, only a little bit offset.

My favorite part of the book was when she was finally able to let Xavier go and heal her broken heart with you know who. I felt as he was the bad boy turned good in this book, and I honestly wish there had been more of him in it.

I have read a lot of werewolf stories and while I understand the concept of a jealous mate, I really dislike how jealous and possessive Xavier became. He was the one to deny and refuse Chloe yet that he could not fully let her go. Especially once you find out what one of his secrets is and than you just want to slap him for being that stupid.

I recommend this to young adults as a fantasy romance.

I received this book from Exclusive ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Something about this book kept me reading; I finished it in one sitting but I can't say I really loved it. There was something immature about the writing. It read like it was written by a teenager for other teenagers. But at the same time it hold a lot of promise. But it needs better editing. The Maddison POV section towards the end of the book was very random and out of place. It would have made more sense to include that scene in the earlier part of the book where the events actually happened.

I thought the teacher/pupil romance was disturbing and inappropriate especially as the target market for this book is teens. I disliked Xavier from the beginning. I also thought he was too young. Xavier is 6 years older than her 18 and at 24 he's already married with two young boys.
Aside from that icky relationship Chloe also has romantic entanglements with three other men, two of whom are brothers. That in itself is distasteful but ironically I thought her relationship with Dan and Alec was the more compelling part of the story. Her dates with Cole seemed pointless and didn't serve much purpose.
For a werewolf story there was very little were activity except for the mate part and the wolves going for a run about at night.

At the end of the story I couldn't help but wonder what would happen fifteen years later. Would Xavier live up to his word and stay away? What if Emily died or divorced him? He was a bit of a stalker for most of this book and I can imagine him coming back, when his boys are older needing their 'exclusive school,' and being obsessed with Chloe all over again.

Twisting You by Simone Elise Review
Will Chole ever be able to love after you mate denies you?

What happens if you are meant to be, but life is getting in the way of love? Every werewolf has one mate, their perfect counterpart. Chloe is mated with her teacher Xavier; they are meant to be together for life. But when Xavier denies her on her 18th birthday, Chloe’s entire world crumbles into pieces. Xavier doesn’t want to let Chloe go, but being married to a human and with two children isn’t making things easier for him. Will Xavier and Chloe ever be able to be together, or will she have a chance to love someone else?

What did I like? This is the sixth book of Simone’s that I have read and have enjoyed each of them. They are refreshing and always have a way of catching my interest to the last page. I love the action and characters.

What will you like? As I said above this will catch you interest on page one and you almost won’t be able to lay it down. The characters are interesting and you will watch the growth of each of them as the pages turn. Simone has a great way of reaching the reader in this genre and takes her characters always a step more. This has a really cute hook that becomes intriguing and even heartbreaking. As everyone knows there is a mate for everyone and just what can you do with yourself if that mate denies you? The mystery of why will keep you on your toes and the ending will rock you! I received this from the Publisher for an honest review.

I give this book 3.5 hearts

So this book was a little difficult to review because I have kind of mixed feelings for it.
To start I loved the concept fated werewolf mates that just can't be together due to various reasons but love is still found just with someone unexpected.
However my issue falls with the heroine Chloe I tended to get annoyed with she kind of flits around from her mate who's an ass, to her best friend who's sweet and then to her true love. All along the way she's rather whiney and is prone to throwing temper tantrums and then quickly discovering her wrong doing, her parents even get fed up and annoyed with her.
Her mate is disputable and I instantly hated him ugh just a selfish, jerk who wants his cake and to eat it too. I didn't see any redeeming qualities. Thank goodness their is a twist in the plot or I would have been pissed.
The characters are well developed and the plot is interesting, I found it slightly difficult to keep track of characters POV which had me re reading parts to figure out what was happening. The passage of time was confusing, I really couldn't tell how much time was passing between events.

All in all give it a try if you like werewolf romance , yes I feel like it could have taken a little more editing but nonetheless I couldn't stop reading and was eager to see what would happen.

I've read this book before on Wattpad, and couldn't get enough of it. Now that it's been almost 8 years, I've read it again and ooh boy...not entirely worth reading.

Only got two stars because I thought the beginning plot of Chloe and Xavier not being able to be together was good, kept me intrigued. Then it just went downhill from there.

Chloe goes between 4 different guys. Her mate, her best friend, a human, and her best friend's brother.

Chloe never gets her mate so she ends up with Alec. We never figure out what happens with Cole. But we get an ending for Dan, and somewhat for Xavier. Although were left wondering if there's a sequel and wondering if Chloe and Xavier might end up together, even though she's now with Alec.

Honestly Chloe is a w***e in my opinion. I get that she can't have Xavier, but she goes from Dan to Cole, to Dan again, then to Alec. That's being trampy. I get she wants to find love but she kinda went about it the wrong way and acted more like a 15 or 16 year old throughout the whole book rather than her actual 18 year old age.

Honestly I might read the sequel, Bitterly Yours, if it's published. But I won't add it to my shelf nor will I add Twisting You to my shelf.

A paranormal love story that isn’t....

Well I love paranormal/werewolf romance so I started this book full of hope and anticipation but this book should come with a warning because it is truly emotionally draining...

The story is well written and the alternative world is vivid and believable and the characters are interesting although Xavier is closed off and selfish and the emotional intelligence of both the main characters is sadly lacking for the majority of the book... their relationship is challenging, twisted and frustrating in equal measures...

The premise of the book is original but there are elements of the shifter genre that maybe should not be played with.... I can not say more for fear of spoiling the plot but it is enough to say that this book took me just a little too much away from my enjoyment zone...

This is not so much a love story as a tortuous journey of personal discovery and as such I found it fell short of my expectations....This book was reviewed for Summer's Eve Reads...

WOW talk about conflicting emotions, Love, Hate, tears near death experiences, this book will give you all that and more.
Chole is a wolf shifter and when Chole turns 18 her fated mate denies her and refuses to be her mate and wants to to go through a separation that will dissolve their bond. He is one of her teachers and she tries to make him jealous in an attempt to make him decide to make her his mate.. When she decides that she has had enough heartache he decides he is her mate and doesn’t want a separation of his mating bond with her. She finds out from her brother, the truth of why he had denied her she is furious with him he already married to a human with two kids. He selfishly wants her to wait until his human wife dies so he can be her mate… she will never know how her friends will be important to her in her struggles to overcome this mate bond and will she ever find a soul mate to live happily with knowing that she can probably never be with her fated mate.

Talk about relationship problems...
Although there were many issues and problems going on with the characters, it was still great to see it all be worked out in the end. At first there was this crazy lovers thing going on. It went from a love triangle to a love square, back to a love triangle to a point A to point B lovers quarrel.
A little crazy and slightly all over the place with all these different POV's popping up everywhere, but the story was still really good. I was sucked into it from the beginning and could not stop until I reached the end.

I hate that Chloe went through so much. She really did not deserve that, but I am thankful that she still got to have her happily ever after in the end. Although I am happy about that airport scene, I was still kind of hurt by it too because I felt Alec didn't deserve it.

All in all the story is very interesting and good and fun to read as well.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily and honestly reviewing it.

Chloe is the mate of her teacher Xavier, a married man with children. We start the story with that knowledge. Chloe has reportedly changed following the rejection.

The start of this book was rather slow. On top of that, I wish it had a bit of a different start. The plot wasn't particularly amazing and the character's could have had better characterization.

The werewolf aspect is a bit thin passed the mate thing. The main character, Chloe, was a little badly written and it was strange starting with a Chloe that has changed. The relationship between Chloe and Xavier was a bit abusive. The whole story could have been better plotted out.

On the upside, the story has a good and believable ending. The characters, while they could have used work, weren't totally unbelievable.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!
This story has a new twist on werewolves and had me within the first few sentences. I really liked the way Simone has written this story, just adds something a little different to the way werewolves stories are written.
The blurb pretty much explains the book but you need to read the story to find out if the soul mate love is strong enough between Xavier and Chloe?!?!

Well, Simone Elise has done it again....I just love Chloe and I could kick Xavier's butt! The games he plays just broke my heart. I enjoy how all the authors that write warewolf stories follow the same guide. Makes it so much easier to keep up with the characters and the special abilities they have.

This book takes you on a great ride. I really enjoyed reading this. I know it is not everyone's cup of tea but I could not put it down. The only part that drove me nuts is how Chloe's parents couldn't see what Xavier was doing. Being the Alpha he should have, and the secrets always drive me a bit nuts, but I still really liked the story. Quick read, could not stop.

Simone definitely took her own spin to having a "mate" on this thrilling and drama filled novel. Usually in werewolf books like these, having a "mate" means that the two of you were meant to be together ever since you were children, which will manifest once one of you turns 18.
Sadly for Xavier, his mate was merely a baby when he started looking for her, and in a twist of life, fell in love with a human.
As for Chloe, the moment she felt her mate, she wanted him, but Xavier has denied her in every turn.
With an ending that you won't expect when having read books like these, you'll enjoy the breath of fresh air that Twisting You provides!

The book blurb explains exactly what the situation is. Though rejected by her mate Xavier, the bond is still there and it causes Chloe a lot of pain. When she tries to accept the fact that they will never be together, he suddenly refuses to let her go. Can Chloe be satisfied with waiting on the sidelines of his life or can she find love and happiness with someone other than her mate? I think the plot was good and I felt Chloe's pain and desperation. It might not have been perfectly written but I cared about Chloe, and the way that Xavier treated her infuriated me. I enjoyed this book a lot. 3.75 star. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

*Arc in exchange for honest review.

The book is a werewolf stories about a couple that is essentially mismatched because the male lead Xavier is unable to accept the bond due to a family that he has with someone else. His inability to make a decision a stick by it tortures Chloe through the whole book until he finally decides to leave.
I found Xavier's character really annoying and felt that Chloe should have left as soon as she found out the truth about Xavier.
The title fits the book perfectly.

I finished this book but it was a struggle. I skimmed over lots of this story because I couldn't get interested or invested in it.

This is probably something a young teen would like to read and I am definitely not one. ;)

I am not going to pick holes in this story for the sake if it...... except that some re-editing, tone down some of the sexual references and might have a halfway decent were-story for young teens. Even then I am not convinced.

Sorry, this was not for me.

Not enough werewolf for me. Interesting idea, as it was a twist on most shifter books I've read. I hated how Xavier toyed with Chloe. However, she seemed to do her fair share of it as well. Almost too many games being played and too many people involved. I did like many aspects of this story, though. Her bestie was a good one. That situation ended up satisfactorily for me. I did also like how things ended up for Chloe. I thought it was all for the best in the end.

This book was so captivating from start to finish. I love stories about werewolves, and this one was unlike any other I had read. It took the mate plot and twisted it to the point where I couldn't put it down. I am absolutely in love with it, and while there are some things that need to be worked on, overall it was an amazing story. Can't wait to read more books by Simone Elise!

Gosh this book is a mess, the character is shallow and the insta-love is absolutely nauseating. I don’t even fully understand the plot, because was it about her relationship with her mate? Or her best friend? Or her best friend’s brother? Or Cole who was basically used and dropped (poor guy) Honestly why are all these men in love with her?? Ughhh this is just a terrible piece of writing and the whole time all I was thinking was: shutupshutupshutupshutup

I am not really fan of werewolf genre, but it would be a lie if I would say that I did not enjoy this particular read. It was a fast interesting journey to ride along, and the thing I liked the most about this book was that it was not entirely cliche. I get it love problems and crazy alpha male love interest a big cliche was still there but with an unusual twist. In short I would recommend this book to everyone.

Wow. Wow. Wow. What a fabulous story. I absolutely loved it and had trouble putting it down. Chloe, Xavier, Ben and Alec. A highly recommended read. Boy, can this author write a good story. Everyone has their own ideas on what constitutes a good book. My idea of a good book? When I cannot put it down. To me, that says it all. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book which was provided by INKITT.

Boy does this story live up to its name!

This is some twisted, convoluted and unusual shifter story.

You think that it is straight forward but....

Will Chloe get her mate??

Will she get a happy ever after??

How does she.....and then when .... Oh Boy!

All I can say is....there is a HEA. A plus in this strange but enthralling tale.

This was a very convoluted story and I felt like I was just thrown into it from the very beginning. There was no back story, no explanation of characters, no reasons for why Chloe was in love with Xavier, and why he was denying her. I was disappointed with that since I'm a fan of Miss Simone's work. The story is interesting and very twisty/turny.

The book was very addictive. It is totally different than other werewolf stories that I have read. It took many directions and the ending was a bit unexpected for me. I cried a bit while reading it but I enjoyed it a lot! It was good and I loved the moral of the story. Sometimes you to do what's best for the others!
