Jade has been assigned to track the same immortals who tried to kill Xander’s family but she’s her assignment has become a bit complicated since Ghost assigns her a new partner in this suspenseful and enthralling Dark Assassin romance. Jade and Noah are strong, captivating characters that easily draw readers into their story and they have some wonderfully sweet but truly hot and magnetic chemistry going on although the relationship is not an easy one as Noah has good reasons not trust immortals. Their lots of emotional turmoil in this romance that adds depth to the characters and brings to life so that readers can’t help but fall for them as they track a group of shifters through the mountains of Colorado.
The fast pace of this story has readers holding their breath in suspense as danger lurks around every corner and unexpected twists ensures that they never know what will happen next. This story also has an extraordinary little one that charms and delight readers while adding intriguing new possibilities and wonder to the series. And while the story is on the short side, there is never a dull moment to be found and full of important and suspenseful twists that adds to the fascinating of this sexy, spellbinding world.

Jade and Noah
When Jade enters Ghost's office building she smells a human and realizes that she smelled her mate. She thought she didn't have time for a human mate because Ghost was going to assign her a mission. When she got to the office, she saw a human that was the source of the scent.
Noah is an ex-Seal who needs Dark Company's help. His best friend and ex-Seal Sam, was recruited as a mercenary and sign Noah up too. They were then kidnapped by the Merc group. Sam was bitten to be changed into an immortal shifter but he died. Noah escaped and now wants revenge.
Can Noah get over his hatred of immortals and be with Jade? Read to find out about the adventure that these two go in. We learn about Jade's past life too because someone she knows comes forward.
I totally love this group of assassins and baby Silas. Whether you read shifter or vampire books, you will fall in love with this series.

Jade and Noah make a powerful mated couple! She is a tough assassin yet always wants what's best for everyone else even over her own needs. He is a tough ex-SEAL that wants revenge for the death of his best friend. They are both really good people, there's no cockiness or bad attitude conflicts. It's refreshing.
Despite this being a standalone, there are still unresolved issues as part of the Dark Company organization as a whole. I'm sure it plays out over the whole series. Jade & Noah have their HEA.
Being the 4th book in the series, it took me awhile to get all the other characters and couples straight.
Still, a very good story and easily is a standalone. There are likeable enough characters for me to want to go back to read their stories. I'm sure that overall it's a good series.

Jade is a red fox shifter, she loves her “family” of assassins, and their growing family of mates. She has sisters in the mates of Kai, Xander, Seth and Reaper. There isn’t much she wouldn’t do for her family, so when her boss Ghost asks for her help on tracking down some of the Assassins that attacked Xander and Frost (book 3) in the last book, Jade quickly agrees, but there is a proviso, she has to work with a human.
Noah isn’t too keen on shifters or vampires, his best friend enrolled them into a research program, from there he watched his best friend die a horrid death, he blames the shifter community, so it’s so keen to work with them, but he wants the culprits who killed his friend to pay, and wants that organisation closed down for good. Going to another shifter organisation seemed the only logical solution (you have to fight fire with fire, humans weren’t going to be of any use, it had to be immortals)
What he didn’t bank on was meeting a gorgeous redhead, a small package perfectly put together, did he want to know her? Hell yes, did he think she was up to the job? Hell no, but Noah was going to find out how efficient Jade was .....
Again, the author seemed to take the easy route (Jade knows Noah is her mate, and Noah is happy with it? Didn’t he just admit that he didn’t like or trust shifters?) a little dislike and indecision would have made it a little more believable.
The story moves at a relatively good pace, we have the good guys, we have the bad guys and then we have the love interest. We catch up with previous characters and couples from previous books.
We have a few fights. And we have a little soul searching from both sides.

Pluses and negatives
Overall rated it mainly because I liked her character, and the baby.
Her mate what I saw of him as well.
The negs were the totally illogical business they are in. The way someone got up to the headquarters floor.. which is another illogical part. No way would they be in office. Remote work only. With maybe an warehouse and complex in country, forest area for training near their homes.
The rival group makes no sense, as well as her long lost family actions. Just what he said of her father made his thoughts illogical.

This is the fourth book in the series but I don’t feel you have to read the other three to understand what is going on. I liked the adventure and action. Jade’s character was strong and pretty bad donkey lol I wanted to smack Noah across the head a couple of times. You can try to ignore an attraction but eventually it will find a way. I like that jade played it cool. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

An awesome book. Extremely entertaining, captivating and interesting sexy read. I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong, intriguing characters. I want to read more from this author. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I LOVE female assassins and this book did not disappoint. The second I started the story I devoured the book. Sexy, action-packed, and everything I've come to expect in the series. This series is an addiction for me and I never want it to end.
