Part-time student, full-time Soul Reaper, Ichigo is one of the chosen few guardians of the afterlife.
Ichigo Kurosaki never asked for the ability to see ghosts—he was born with the gift. When his family is attacked by a Hollow—a malevolent lost soul—Ichigo becomes a Soul Reaper, dedicating his life to protecting the innocent and helping the tortured spirits themselves find peace. Find out why Tite Kubo’s Bleach has become an international manga smash-hit!
Yhwach’s invasion of the Soul Society has led its defenders to make some strange alliances, with Ichigo and his friends finding common cause with some of the Arrancars. And Soul Reapers who normally wouldn’t have anything to do with each other now fight side by side as Kenpachi and Mayuri take on a truly monstrous Quincy. And because war brings changes to all, Mayuri’s dutiful daughter Nemu is compelled to act in defiance of her father—even if it becomes the last thing she ever does.

Kinda hard for me to believe the story will finish in just two volumes, I’m definitely seeing the rushed critique now. At least the author was able to use the anime to expand the story.
I never thought I would see the day for this . . . 3 stars.
1. A chicken? Really? I think this is the worst insult for Shunsui Kyōraku. The first form of this Quincy was a lot better. 2. The Pernida battle was one of the worst for me . . . I just felt so underwhelmed about it. I am sorry, Nemu, I never liked Mayuri Kurotsuchi. (He can disappear for all I care.) 3. Somewhere it felt like the mangaka ran out of ideas.
Singing praises to Thunderous Black Cat Battle Princess.
The only reason this is not dropping to 2 stars is: Shunsui and Nanao Ise on pages 384-385. That made me so giddy.
Onwards to the last volume and the end of the journey. Overall review to come :)

Well, I guess everything was going too well with this final arc, so of course it had to start going down the drain towards the end… How can such a big volume lack so much? Anyways, since it gets even worse… better save it for the last volume!
i loved seeing extended fights for kyoraku, kurotsuchi, and the yoruichi/urahara combo, but it all rings more than a little bit hollow (ha ha). just passing time.
yeah, this whole thing is less and less interesting it's gotten...too big? too many characters means less investment and uryu's 'change of heart' is just super predictable.
We get a spotlight on characters that had previously never gotten any while upping the action and stakes. The series is definitely on a weak final arc, but the quality of art and action is entertaining enough.
