Drake was the perfect guy—the one who broke my heart. He left me to join Amnesty International and fight injustice. I never got over him. I’m back in our hometown, and I’ll probably never see him again.
DRAKE:
I looked across the fancy gala and saw Ainsley. My friend’s sister, the girl I can’t resist. I could tell her the truth but it would put her in danger. I want her like I’ve never wanted anything. Her smile, her skin, her voice in my ear when I make her scream. She’s going to be mine. This time I’ll never let her go. F*ck playing it safe. I’m playing to win.
This is a standalone, full-length 60,000+ words novel. No cheating, no cliffhanger, and a guaranteed happily ever after. Also includes bonus content!

Another great love story Aria. Was hooked from the start to finish couldn't put it down. Drake and Ainsley they still had some HOT chemistry after been apart for 8 years. That is sorry you get no spoilers for me. ONE-CLICK NOW. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy
The last quarter of this book, when Drake plans to take Ainsley to London, is great. Before that, it's a mess.
The story makes no sense, with very little being explained about Drake's disappearance for 8 years. Ainsley barely questions him on it, which doesn't make any sense either.
Also, they say they love each other, then he disappears again, and she tries to get over him, so superficial.
I only kept reading to understand why he'd been gone, but the answer to that was vague. Nor was it clear why he didn't contact her upon his return home.
Poor writing, so much that it interfered with my understanding of the plot sometimes. Also, the terminology is decidedly British, but the setting is in Florida, which was quite confounding.
Good Lord! Every single time Drake and Ainsley speak to each other its Drake? Yes Ainsley? Oh, Ainsley? Omg!!! Drove me nuts! Their conversations are very immature for two professionals with college degrees and he is 36??!!! Why bother to finish? This seems written by a 12 year old.
"You make me melt, you know that?" "I hope not. If you were to melt, I wouldn't be able to hold you like this."
This was a sweet second chance story, surrounded in secrets, mystery, danger, and hope. A love lost without explanation, and a love renewed with the truth.
Drake Leblanc always wanted to make a difference. Change the plights of the less fortunate in this world. He left the woman he loved to do just that. He always planned to come home to Ainsley. But, plans don't always go the way you think. Now, she's unexpectedly back in his life. He hurt her all those years ago - ghosting her. He owes her an explanation, but can he trust her with the truth? How long can he keep up this charade of who he really is before he loses her a second time? When his secrets are found out, he will have to choose - tell her everything, or walk away.
Ainsley Johnson thought Drake was the man of her dreams. She loved everything about him, including his desire to make the world a better place. After he disappears from her life without so much as a goodbye, her heart was shattered. Never expecting to see him again, an unexpected encounter brings her pain back to the surface. Drake is not the man she thought he was. He's changed, and not for the better. But she can't deny that she's still in love with him. Can she risk her heart again? She can tell he's not telling her something, but does she really want to know the truth? Is this second chance worth a shot, or should she just walk away since the man she loved is gone - replaced by someone she never thought he'd become?
I loved the story line but I do wish there was more details about Drake and Liam's plan, and more about the shady corporate players. I think the story line could have developed in to a romantic thriller with the romance part having a bit more friction. Drake and Ainsley seemed to fall right back in to their relationship without hesitation. But, overall, I enjoyed the book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. This was a fast paced sexy read about second chances with just a little bit of danger and mystery. Drake and Ainsley are tow people who were and still are it seems very much in love. Drake is a lawyer who fights for the rights of others and eight years ago he went off to Africa to do just that. Promising to return to Ainsley. Well something causes him to not only return six moths after leaving but to not contact Aisnley. Fast forward eight years and Ainsley stil wonders what happened with Drake. The two meet again and can not believe each still have feelsings for one another. Ainsley is reluctant at first to let Drake into her life. Drake is still not sure if he can explain to Ainsley what kept him away. One thing is for certain. They are both still in love with the other and can't deny the pull they feel. Ainsley feels Drake has changed from the man he use to be. Has he really? Or is he the same man only hiding what he is truly doing with a company known for exploiting working conditions? Will he be able to expose what is going on and keep Ainsley save in the process? I really enjoyed this book and loved the chemistry of Drake and Ainsley. This a well written book with just enough drama and one hot and sexy couple. I absolutely loved the HEA!
This is a new twist on a second chance at love story between Ainsley and Drake. They were in love and 8 years ago Drake went off to join Amnesty International and when he came back 6 months later he never got in touch with Ainsley. Now 8 years later they still have not seen each other. One night Ainsley and her friend get tickets to go to SteelCorps annual gala and she literally runs into Drake. Once Drake relazies Ainsley is the one to bump into him he’s not sure what to do? He is really trying to protect or did he never love her! They meet up and things are shaky and how do you trust someone who left you and never called in 8 years? Once Ainsley finds out who Drake works for she can not believe he’s changed so much! It was very natural they way they patch up the past and move forward. Drake has been under pressure and has secrets that cause problems between them. Once Drake does what is necessary to bring to light what’s really going on at Steelcorp he quits and gets himself in some scary legal and life threatening issues. Will the plan Drake comes up with to keep them safe work or will the bad guys win? There are twist and surprises that make this story! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Readers Copy of this book.
Ainsley loved Drake but he left without a word. Nothing. Her heart was broken and over the years it didn't begin to mend. Then a chance meeting brings them back together. Their feelings are unchanged. She is still in love with him but doesn't think she can go through losing him again and she knows he isn't telling her the truth about why he left. Drake wants to help the world and children especially and cannot tell Ainsley what he's been up to. Will he just leave her again without a word and will she be able to cope with a shattered heart? The passion between them is real but is it as important as other aspects of their lives? A great story with plenty of steamy sex and suspense. I look forward to Aria's next book as I'm sure it will be just as good and will keep me entertained form beginning to end. get yourself a copy too! I received a reader's copy of this book and voluntarily leave my honest review of it here.
I think I’ve determined I’m happiest with a book that falls at one end of the spectrum or the other. Either pure marshmallow-fluff entertainment or a gritty compelling story that leaves me feeling wrung out at the end. I don’t really know what to do with a book that falls in the middle of the spectrum. And that’s where this book lands for me. It’s a sweet second-chance romance with a bit of a human rights twist that read very quickly. I think it’s because it went by so quickly for me, I didn’t get as invested in the characters as I would have liked. Both Drake and Ainsley stayed kind of flat in my imagination. It’s well-written and entertaining, I just couldn’t empathize with their problems I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.
Ainsley and Drake are madly in love when Drake leaves to work at Amnesty International in Africa. Six months later Drake has returned but he doesn't contact Ainsley. Ainsley is heartbroken and doesn't see Drake for eight years. They meet at the Steelcorp gala. Drake is now a corporate lawyer working for Stellcorp, a company with a bad reputation. Why did Drake leave and never contact Ainsley upon his return? Can Ainsley forgive Drake and move on? Is Ainsley in danger due to the corporate espionage Drake is involved in? “He's Back” is a well-written, emotional, intriguing, suspenseful second-chance romance that I am happy to recommend. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Imagine your first love goes away and you have no idea where he is or what he is doing. You go to an exclusive ball and suddenly after 8 years he is right in front of you. Everything you thought was true is in question and you don't know what to believe. I received an ARC of this book and I am writing this review voluntarily. Jake is back and Ainsley is trying to convince herself that she doesn't care. She cannot see herself loving the man who swore he would never work for a corporation. She finds out he is a lawyer for a huge company. This gets her wondering who Jake really is and if all he told her years ago was a lie! Join Jake and Ainsley on their journey. There is intrigue, danger, and steamy sex!
Ainsley was heartbroken, 7 years ago by Drake when he left for Africa. He never told her he was back, so she moved on, or she tried. When she meets him again, it seems he had changed : he was working for Amnesty International, and now is a lawyer for a big enterprise who has a bad reputation. Their relation evolves another time to love, but he’s threated. I was annoyed sometimes by Drake who looses a lot of time to tell the truth to Ainsley. I just wanted to shake him. So, I liked the blurb, but even with what happen around the characters, it was too sweet for me, with some parts in which I didn’t understand the characters. 📚I am honestly and voluntarily reviewing an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book 📚 This was a 2 1/2 ⭐️⭐️read for me. This is Drake and Ainsley’s story and as characters, I had some issues. Drake is suppose to be so highly principled, but he leaves without a word.......for 8 years.......when he’s in his mid twenties, not a kid. I don’t care why, it’s wrong, he needed to do some major groveling and didn’t. Ainsley has gotten over him, but apparently not because they fall back together fairly quickly. I’d love a woman with a spine and Ansley had none. The story bogged down at time, so the pace wasn’t consistent. Not my favorite of Aria Ford’s but still a fan.
He's back is a heart wrenching second chance romance between Drake and Ainsley, two people who were, was and are in love with each other. Drake always wanted to do good the unfortunate people in the world and Ainsley loved the very thing of him but when he has leave one to achieve the other. Both of their hearts are shattered, even after all these years their love for each other is still alive, but there is lots of secrets, lies and truth to relieved, will their love cross all the fire to save their hearts is the story. I loved this book, great plot, well scripted by Aria Ford. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of the book.
This was a pleasant and easy read. The story line was good and dealt with some intrigue. The characters were somewhat flat. I could not understand why the female lead took back the male lead so unquestionably. The male lead seemed like a great character except for his past treatment of the female lead. In both cases of these two characters they seemed somewhat less effective in managing their lives than what would have sparked my interest more. A light romp overall.

There’s are parts of this book that made me want to beat that man senseless. Running off the way he did and wanting her to just forgive him without an explanation....ugh! She’s always been in love with him so seeing another chance with him can put blinders up, but after her bad relationship, you’d think she’d be more cautious. All in all, it was a fantastic story that I really enjoyed and I’m looking forward to seeing what Aria has in store next. I’m voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.
I really liked this second chance romance. Drake broke Ainsley’s heart when he left to join Amnesty International. Eight years later they are both at the same gala. Ainsley is shocked to find out what Drake has been up to. What secrets is he hiding? This is a fast-paced romance with plenty of drama and intrigue. The characters have great chemistry and the story really draws you in. A good read.
This was an extremely well written story. The reason for 4 stars instead of five for me is because Ainsley seems very strong but at times a little immature. Drake at times seems indecisive like he doesn’t know which way to turn. That being said the story is itself is a great story and it is beautifully written. It has a little mystery, drama, suspense, and some beautiful romance. It is definitely worth reading. I voluntarily review an advanced reader copy of this book.
A sweet and romantic off limit story that is very well written and has a great storyline and plot. The characters are really likeable and relatable. There is over the top chemistry between them. This second chance romance is not going to be easy but can they manage to get over the betrayal and lack of communication? Can their attraction and love survive the past they have and the things that they have in their past? Absolutely a story that is captivating and worth the read.
We were taken on a journey of lost love, never knowing what happened and finding it again. The fact that we see so many things finally come to light and seeing two people find their way back...simply wonderful. This story is about how life can change by the blink of an eye. This is a story worth reading over and over again. I happily give it 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader's Copy
This is a second chance romance between Ainsley and Drake. they were good together but he just disappeared from her life eight years ago. Can they make a second go of it? Will the secrets Drake is hiding keep them from being able to make it work? This has a good storyline and character development. Enjoy!!

I love second chances! Ainsley and Drake had to wait 8 years for it but I think it was worth it! I loved the story and the characters! I love that I thought the story was going to go one way and it didn't. Aria Ford is such an awesome author!! I recommend this book! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
A second chance romance with some twists. Drake and Ainsley were together years before but he left. When he came back he never got in contact with Ainsley. Secrets are revealed and bad guys are after them. A good mystery storyline and great characters. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Wonderful second-chance love story. Ainsley and Drake were both great characters. The plot line kept me turning the page wanting to know if Drake's secret would come between the two lovers.

Wow. Just wow, he is lucky I am not Ainsley, I am most definitely not the forgive and forget type ! Drake- you are one extremely lucky soul. Great read, sooooo much drama and angst and plenty steam. Never saw this ending........

This may be one of my favorite 2nd chance books to date. It's sweet and suspenseful that kept me glued to the story. I liked the characters and they way they related to each other, the surrounding characters and the world. A great read.
This was a well written second chance romance. Ainsley and Drake had good chemistry. There was drama, action, twists and turns, and steamy scenes. I enjoyed it. *I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review.*
