Dragon shifters and their mates heat up the pages in these sweltering romances. Pierce A group of dragons traveled from Scotland to the New World a millennium ago to guard a treasure that none could know of. Their homes and lives are hidden from the world of humans and supernatural beings. Until Pierce saves the life of a woman during an avalanche. And now he’s put the entire legacy on the line. Jasmine isn’t your average girl. She’s a part of the fae. And now some damned dragon gave her his blood to heal her. Didn’t he realize that dragon’s blood is toxic to the fae? His dragon brethren don’t care if she lives or dies—actually, they’d just as soon as uncomplicate matters and see her dead. But that’s not so easy for her or the dragon that saved her. Smoke Alina may have saved the mate of a dragon, but that didn’t make her the friend of any dragons. And the feeling is mutual. The dragons have no used for her either. Except for Smoke. This hunky powerful dragon has decided he has to have the fae healer as his mate. Come hell, high water, dragons, or fae. Cash Iron is kryptonite to Cash and his dragon shifter clan. He offers to be the guinea pig in a laboratory to help them overcome their weaknesses. Unfortunately, Cash didn't count on meeting a sexy doctor called Carissa. Carissa's no stranger to shifters. Her cousin has hooked up with one of Miami's Everglade shifters. But she has no clue that there's such a thing as dragon shifters. She thinks she's helping out an average, run-of-the-mill wolf, bear, or tiger shifter. And Cash doesn't tell her his secret. Then again, Carissa's got a secret of her own. Her nephew has been kidnapped. The only way she can get him back is if she delivers the blood of the shifter she's supposed to be finding a cure for. Fence Fence is on a mission. Returning to Scotland to find out what happened to the dragons. The old country is so very different than it used to be. What he discovers in Scotland is alarming. No bodies just signs of a struggle. The other thing he discovers? An American girl who proves a distraction to his mission. The last thing Ciera expected to find when she went to Scotland was a dragon shifter. No, make that the last thing she expected was to fall in love with one. Gate A dragon heartbeat reveals the Scottish dragons are still alive and the Appalachian dragons go on a mission save their kin. One little detail they didn’t count on, though. A certain brunette firecracker of a stowaway who’s hell-bent on proving herself, and proving her mother wrong. Said firecracker’s mother? None other than the formidable Mary. Poor Gate, he’s in for a hell of an adventure, and that’s before the mission even begins. Miles Miles has watched all the dragons in his Appalachian clan find their mates. Now he’s flying solo. Will a week off in the Caribbean lead him to his fated mate? Savannah’s got a death wish and a secret. Why did this dark brooding man have to save her? She didn’t ask to be saved.
This was just painful to get through. Dragon shifters who have lived together for hundreds of years and while not very emotive, when one finds a mate - they don't discuss one iota of it with their brethren? The girls were quintessential damsels in distress, could have been on the verge of great characters. They all just accept their fates without much thought. The dialogue between all characters was white noise...blah blah blah....I should have stopped reading but I am OCD about finishing what I start.
I that these stories start with the six male dragon shifters charged with the protection of a treasure that they have never seen. It has required them to live in a cave in the mountains where it is charmed to keep humans away but maybe a thousand years later things are changing. In strange ways they have started to find mates. In Ava's wonderful way people from one book always show up in the other stories... sometimes in a big way or maybe just a small way like a phone call.. But new people are also coming in so they can star in the next stories as I see their are two more 6 book sets to this series that I haven't read yet She really knows how to keep you interested as each story plays out. From the rescue of a badly injured young woman in a mud slide, and jobs Mary sends them on as they try to find their clan after they stop hearing the heartbeats they have heard over the thousand years since they were set to protect the unknown treasure. They have been captured and held in a underground lab. Can they rescue them? And another thorn in their side (an a mate too) is Mary's unknown 'hell on wheels' daughter who pops up on one of there rescues. These stories cover about a year in their lives of how after a thousand years of just six dragons living together in a huge cave alone and hardly any contact with humans go to having six very different human women and a small boy join them in their cave home. Looking forward to seeing what new things come up in the next two sets of her books.
Dragon Heartbeats The Box Set contains the first six books in the Dragon Heartbeats series by Ava Benton. This is my first read by Ava Benton, so I really didn’t know what to expect from one of her stories- but the blurb sounded promising and had my attention at ‘Dragons’- so I snapped up a copy and set off on the adventures. This is a paranormal romance series, each book following different characters, but weaving an overarching background story which provides a much ‘bigger picture’. With dragon shifters, damsels in distress, fated mates, chemistry, sparks, action, adventure, supernatural elements, Fae, protective Alpha-male types, threats, challenges, fate/destiny, a little humour, danger, a quest, treasure, and dramatic developments- all in one convenient package, made for hours of hopeful reading. While I normally love a great dragon shifter romantic suspense- this series, unfortunately, didn’t meet my expectations- I think I came away with more questions than answers here. A lot of ambiguous information, and threads that didn’t develop or lead anywhere. Left me wanting more. The premise hold a lot of promise, but missed the mark for me. There are more books in this series, but I am unsure if I will continue them at this stage. Stay tuned. But if you like dragon shifter romance, damsels in distress, fated mates, and spicy details- then you should probably read this series for yourself and make up your own mind. The Box Set Contains: -Pierce (Book #1) -> Pierce and Jasmine -Smoke (Booke #2) -> Smoke and Alina -Cash (Book #3) -> Cash and Carissa -Fence (Book #4) -> Fence and Ciera -Gate (Book #5) -> Gate and Martina -Miles (Book #6) -> Miles and Savannah
The first 6 books in this series in one boxed set - hours of reading enjoyment. A group of six dragons has volunteered to travel far away from their homeland, Scotland, a thousand years ago, to guard something apparently precious and important to the clans (not that the reader ever knows what it is, which makes me wonder, does the author ;) ?) Except for regular forages into the neighbouring little town to get provisions, they have all the amenities of today's world, but have cut themselves off from society. Until such time, one after the other in a very short time, they start rescuing (sort of) damsels in distress (sort of), and behold! those damsels are their mates. Either coincidence, or fate rewarding them for their loyalty, who really cares at that point. A bit far-fetched, all of that, but very nicely told, with lots of humour, quirky and sympathetic protagonists, and a sort of plot going through the six books like a thread (the "treasure", threats from outside etc). They were quite enjoyable to read, the individual stories/books were very short in my opinion, but that did not diminish the fun in going through them all. And yes, I will get the others in this series. Hours of light fun reading!
I found another great series. It has a lot of action, drama and of course sex. It's amazing how they've lived in that cave for a thousand years and never came across their mates. They clan lost contact with their clan in Scotland and had to enlist an old friend for help. In the process of trying to find out what happened to their clan, one by one the began locating their mates. They all found the mates quickly after the first clan member. They've lived there in peace until the first mate appeared. She got caught in a mudslide, he didn't understand why his dragon demanded he save her. The dragon's instincts is better and stronger than his human half, and so began their love story. Which each mate found they have to be rescued from danger. Once found these females make their presence known and helps out as best as they can. They make a great extention to their little clan. I think each story should've been longer, especially where little Danny is involved. They should've let him go out and play. Gate promised to spend time with him when they returned. I hope he's in later books. Great journey
This boxset includes: 1 - Pierce 2 - Smoke 3 - Cash 4 - Fence 5 - Gate 6 - Miles Each of these books are filled with it's own dragon and the finding of their eventual mate. The overall theme of "Dragon Heartbeats" is about a family of dragons, brothers and cousins, who are relocated from Scotland to America. The overall mission? They are guarding a hidden treasure that must remain secret. Each has it's own individual hero and heroine, a personalized plot for each book which is woven through to keep things interesting and exciting, and characters that are beautifully flawed allowing the reader to easy access to relate and fall in love with them. You'll feel the emotional connection of what family, loyalty, and love mean to each of them.
If I just had read book 1, I don't think I would have continued the series. At the start of the book I struggled to relate and bond with the characters. They were short and interesting reads, I am glad it was a boxed set. It was interesting, in some parts of the book you got the right amount of detail/back story and then you hit fast-forward, kind of like you skipped a page. I did love the various epilogues, I love that you got to see the characters interacting as a whole family. Not sure if I'll read the next box set.
Really enjoyed the 1st set of 6 books. Reading them in order helps you get into the story about 6 long time bachelor's guarding a mountain. That is until one unexpectedly rescued a injured lady who ends up being a mate for one of the Dragons 🐉 and so the story begins 👍. At the end of the 1st 6 books there are no unanswered guestions except for one that I'm not sure will be answered in the next books unless you read them that is. Enjoy the 1st set of Heartbeats I'm sure you'll love them.
If you're looking for action, suspense, adventure, romance, then these are the books you need...packed full of hot dragon shifters...and the women who bring them to their knees...well crafted storylines that intertwine throughout the series will keep you from putting them down...join them in their cave and watch as their family grows...I can't wait to read the next series and see what's in store for the rest of the clan.
This story tells of a clan of dragons shifters that are left to gard a treasure that has b been hidden away from those that been hopping to find it,these six dragons have been Alone for so long and have no mates start to find them in unlikely places and hope is born for all of them so none will be alone anymore.I would like to say thank you for all your hard work and may fortune smile 😃on you always 😁from a bookworm
Super easy read, very basic story and plot. Found the journey from stranger to in love and mate very rapid and repetitive for all the stories. Much the same each time. Dragon finds mate, knows they are mate, goes on with adventure, 3 pages later they are in love and marked and mated. Good for a distraction but nothing more than a basic story, basic plot.
each dragon have unique characteristics. Each dragon we're in denial, when their mates were found. I'm so happy everyone found their mates. Mary needs to build them. a compound lilmc knob w hers, with strong security tech and people. Shifters help each other out.
I stopped reading after the first book. Truth, I would have stopped before but I hoped it would get better. The writing style was annoying, with lots of explanations and descriptions and little dialogue. I felt no emotions from the characters. Pierce was an ass, yet still got his way in the end, because fate. I will not be reading the rest of the books.
I liked 5his set of books dealing with dragon shifter and thier mates. Some scenes I could do without but the HEAs were there and I liked all the main characters and a little character was adorable. It was truly amazing what they did with those caves. But more importantly what the dragons did to secure thier mates.
6 dragon shifter brothers and cousins living in the caves of Appalachia. They're guarding an unseen treasure and have been for over a thousand years. Each book is about one of them and their new found mates. If you like shifters, romance, and mysteries you will enjoy this book.
Six short, sexy, funny stories about Dragon shifters and the adventure they go on to find their mates. It's great fun to watch them have to adapt to the changing dynamics and the expansion of their world.
They are shifters . They are protectors. They are brothers. They also are you wanting their mates. They have all but given up. Journeys are in their future.Scotland here they come. Happy reading
It took over a thousand years for the change in their lives, but once fate steps in you never know how your life can change for the better. You can't help falling for all their soul mates.
The various story lines concerning the dragon cousins and brothers were so interesting and different. Although they all had a HEA ending, the building to the climax and the endings were great!! Can’t wait to read Klaus’s story.
I gave this 2 stars instead of one because these stories could have been much better with a bit more substance. I wouldn't recommend spending money on this series
These stories are wonderful although a few grammatical issues happened. Most of the womanfolk had background problems to overcome and the isolation of the males made speaking to women a hurdle.
a clan of dragons travelled to the USA to keep an eye on a secret. They live alone without much interaction with the real world. One day a human will come and as a fated mate of one dragon a series of achievements will occur . Each dragon will find his mate and the secret reveals.
I loved all the characters and the situations they find themselves in. The women are snarky and blunt. Great series. Im definitely looking forward to the next set of books.
Fantasy, with a our day to day life, with a happy ending. Who can ask for more in a book set.
I don't like that it was so short. I was so wrapped up in it that I wanted it to keep going. I just wanted to say great writing and I can't wait to see more from you.
A great set of Dragon shifter romance . Each a stand alone story yet all are interconnected giving you a cohesive collection that keeps you entertained and reading. The heroine s are very mixed and you either love or hate them but you can't forget then
These 6 stories are about the dragons finding their mates. All the while the human part of them tries to deal with how to explain being a dragon to their mates, while also trying to control their dragon side from just claiming what the dragon wants.
Truly enjoyed these stories about 6 different dragon shifters and discovering their mates. Romance, surprise, fear... you get it all! Highly suggest you read them. I'm on the search now for the next set!
Kept my attention throughout the entire set! Can not wait to read more about the dragons and their mates. About the lives they live and the people they help! Excellent story!
A little repetitive with all the characters meeting their mates. I really enjoyed the story line and the suspense. Not too much sex just enough. I would recommend it to my daughter. Good reading.
