We find throughout our life there are times when we are always putting others’ happiness before our own. Tired, stressed and overworked? Happiness can be yours 365 days a year with this step by step guide to being truly happy. Every day!
Jacqueline Pirtle spent every day of 2017 devoted to her own happiness, writing down every single day things that honoured her joy.
365 Days of happiness is not a book to be read in one sitting (although I did just that so I could write my review) but to be used each and every day just like your morning coffee to get you going and perk you up to start each day on a positive note.
I’m such a cynic, when it comes to self help books, but hey who doesn’t want to be happy each and every day. I actually really enjoyed this book and I hardly even did an eye roll. It espouses things we take for granted. Yes, I love my friends and family but expand that to love the food you eat, the sounds you hear and the ground under your feet.
The author uses the power of imagination to get her message across, each day imagining some wondrous new thing. Each page is short, only about 2 minutes to read, an every day reminder about being happy, a new exercise and affirmation.
Can I never be angry again? You ask. Pirtle tells us to feel our anger, it is ok. Then let it go. Never stay long on a negative feeling.
I read this book a few weeks ago but it stuck in my mind. Situations arose that were difficult, disappointing and I immediately thought back to the book. How can I change my present state of mind and be happy? Having your mind set to being happy also has a roll-on effect to those around you.
365 Days of Happiness is a perfect bedside companion. Why not make this year your year of happiness.

Really enjoyed reading this book and interviewing Jacqueline. It's a perfect companion to my daily morning mindfulness routine; read a page each and every day just with my morning tea - it gets me going and perk me up to start each day on a positive note.
Jacqueline Pirtle, I thank you for creating this beautiful book and for sharing your beautiful knowledge and wisdom on how happiness is inside of us and we just need to tap into ourselves alittle deeper. You help me rethink on the little things and how I can shift my mindset to even looking at the small things in life and how beautiful that is too. I’m learning to be more conscious on my happiness and shifting in the state of “BE” and knowing that I have so much light inside of me. I thank you so much from the bottom of my heart! ~Christine~
I want to thank Kelsey McBride from Healthy Lifestyle PR for gifting me this book of affirmations. When I was young, I entered a lot of contests to win self-help books and now that I’m being emailed by authors’ publishers I am so humbled.
Jacqueline Pirtle is a ‘freaky healer’ who wrote 365 Days of Happiness to teach people how to BE happy. The practice can be difficult to learn, however, once you accept that you can feel happy while experiencing a plethora of other emotions. You realize that happiness is a mindset and not a sentiment.
365 Days of Happiness is a guide that will help you reset your mindset every day of the year. It is unlike other self-help books that are sometimes difficult to process and read in short periods of time. 365 Days of Happiness is also a great introduction to the book genre because it allows you to emotionally digest one page of advice per day.
Please take the time to check out Jacqueline Pirtle’s website and her book 365 Days of Happiness. I am a big believer that it will be a wonderful addition to your bookshelf. Thank you so much for reading my review.
365 Day of Happiness is an easy read of positive affirmations that can have a healthy impact on your overall wellbeing. This is not a book you digest in one sitting, rather, in order to get the most out of Pirtle's writing I found it more profound to read a daily entry and reflect on its meaning and what it was asking of me. While not every passage resonated, I can see how this book can reshape negative thought patterns we may hold as real and change the landscape of the mind for better. I would recommend this book for anyone who finds they need more hope for a brighter tomorrow, and that they are open to the belief and hold the innate power to change their outlook on life.
*I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.* Jacqueline Pirtle’s 365 Days of Happiness gives 365 ways to create happiness so you can be a happier person every day of the year. Although most are relatively easy and involve a shift in your thinking, not all of them are a “piece of cake” as she claims, but that could just be a reflection on me. As Pirtle says, “Happiness . . . is an exercise in mindfulness that shows up in many different ways.” That is really what this book talks about and helps with, shifting your own thoughts to focus on the positives instead of the negatives. When we are able to be in a positive headspace, it is much easier to be happy.
For this book to be helpful, the reader must be open to exploring all the different techniques Pirtle suggests. To be honest, I don’t know that this book is for everyone. Some tips may be a little out there for some. There are definitely ones that I would have just written off before I started my own journey of self-care and opened myself up to new ideas that are more “out there.” There are a number of things that I noticed as a proofreader, but if you don’t let the small things get to you, Pirtle uses great allusions and comparisons to get you thinking in a new way. Her suggestions also make clear the things you already do that make you happy and shouldn’t be changed (e.g., I don’t agree with her suggestion of switching coffee for tea).
But for those open to trying new things and a new thought process, Pirtle’s 365 Days of Happiness is a fun way to bring more awareness and focus to creating a happier you. You can read it day by day, focusing on one idea each day of the year, or flip through the pages and randomly picking an idea, letting the universe pick how you should focus that day. I’ve been using the book both ways and taking notes on the ones that resonate with me the most so I can go back to them.
I was sent a copy of 365 Days of Happiness by Jacqueline Pirtle to read and review, never having heard of either the person who sent it to me or the author. When I picked it up, it was late at night, I was tired and ready for bed. Still I was curious as to its contents.
This book made me smile! As I read through many of the pages (I ended up staying awake much later than I had planned!), I found myself getting happier and happier! Jacqueline Pirtle is full of positive energy, which she enthusiastically shares with others.
Some of the writings, made me pause and gave me things to think about. I did find myself wondering what JP would do in a crisis, or when depressed, but from what I have read, she would probably say, take care of yourself, let others take care of you, keep breathing deeply so that you remain calm, and continue to look for the positivity in each moment as it comes to you. A bad moment does not make a bad day, nor does a difficult ongoing situation necessarily lead to a bad life. There is grace and beauty and happiness all around us if we are open to it. And my ripple effect combined with your ripple effect and the rippled effect of all the others on the planet can lead to massive change.
Loved her suggestions and intend to continue reading her writings and incorporating her suggestions. I also plan to recommend this book to others and would like to give several as gifts.
Jacqueline Pirtle is a great motivation speaker. She has a flair for sending positive vibes to her readers everywhere. Brief, concise, and inspiring. Her book reads easy and gives great instructions. However, it was as if she assumed everyone is on the same page. Not everyone is. Some could take her advice as non encouraging. I felt more encouraged by her words but that's because I am not sitting in a bad situation at the moment. The pages had some great questions to ask myself along with simple tasks to complete. I thought that was what made this a good read. It's not the best but it definitely has the potential. Overall, it was an inspiring, uplifting, and feel-happy book.
I received this copy from the publisher. This is my voluntary review.
This book is meant as a daily reminder that happiness is of our own making. Unlike other self-help books that might argue for a new idea or indulge in long, personal musing from the author, this book is merely short, daily exercises to help the reader refresh, refocus, and revamp your mental energy. Don't let the length of the "chapters" fool you into thinking this book is not valuable, however. This book is, quite literally, short and sweet and I've been using it with my morning meditations to clear negative thoughts, shift my mindset towards joy, and get energized for my day.
I often laugh out loud while reading it and I guarantee you'll walk away smiling. It's clear (from all the references to chocolate, cakes, and sweets) that the author loves good food and good laughs equally, and I'm impressed so much of her delightful personality bounces off each page.
A small "taste" of my favorite exercises so far:
Day 10 - You are a smile catcher! This chapter teaches you how to spend the day chasing smiles the way you do butterflies. It's a game I now regularly play when I'm out walking by myself. (You'll have to read more to find out how it's done, because it's really fun to have a secret game no one knows your playing!)
Day 24 - Miracles are like cakes! This metaphor really got me thinking as the author explains how all the right ingredients must be gathered and prepared to make miracles happen - just like baking a cake. This day left me feeling empowered and good about my future.
Day 25 - Slowing down means you create and experience unplanned magic! The theme of this day is all about achieving big goals, but also slowing down a mere one minute per hour in order to fully enjoy and experience your life. It was a great reminder for me personally (who always wants to over achieve everything) and was made all the more refreshing because of the general high-energy tone of the book so far.
I have many, many favorite days, but those three stood out the most early of the early chapters and are a great example of the wide range of ideas, exercises, and all around good-natured fun waiting inside this book.
I was fortunate enough to receive a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
With 365 short daily readings, 365 Days of Happiness will inspire you to be more grateful and more positive. It offers daily tips, inspirations, and conversations to live your happiest life possible. Each day is no more than two pages long, so even the busiest person has time to gain insight from the book.
Let me just start off by saying if you're a negative, pessimistic person, you're probably going to roll your eyes a lot in the beginning. I was at a low point when I started to read it, and I caught myself thinking, "You gotta be kidding me. Happiness is a piece of cake? Try telling that to people who suffer."
However, if you push through the first week's worth of pages, your energy will shift and you'll really start to see the benefits of practicing daily positivity. Your mood will become more stabilized, and when you start to shift into a negative headspace, you'll be able to recognize it and steer yourself back to gratitude. Positivity is almost like a muscle, where it needs to be practiced consistently!
What I love most about the book is Jacqueline Pirtle recognizes that all human emotions (including sadness, jealousy, anger, etc) are vital to our wellbeing. She just recommends to acknowledge them and feel their presence but to not grow roots in the negativity. It's all about maintaining the "high for life" frequency.
I'm definitely going to recommend this book on my mental health and personal growth blog, OkayNowBreathe.com!
Thanks again to Kelsey and Jacqueline Pirtle for sending this eye-opening book my way!
Taking a break from Young Adult and getting this book to break the trend was a great move for me. This book was what I exactly needed. It's real and it's something that I can apply in my life.
Jacqueline's idea was simple: to give a step by step guide to find your way to happiness each day. I found myself smiling on most parts, realizing that sometimes, it's really easy to be happy (my favourite was Day 211). It could be just a matter of perspective!
While it does not explore much on the negative parts of life (would be much better if it did, but this focuses on happiness after all!), I loved the concepts she introduced.
365 Days of Happiness is a feel good book perfect for your bedside table to help you keep grounded and remind you to be grateful to be alive. It radiates positivity and inspires you to start your day thinking that nothing could go wrong- or even if something does, something good may still come off of it. And at the end of the day, in this imperfect world, wouldn't that be such a beautiful thought to hold onto?
I'll be keeping the book on my bedside and include in my morning reads. I am so glad I was sent a complimentary copy. because it's definitely worth a read!
Jacqueline makes me BELIEVE I can be and live a joyful and magical existence every new day of my life! I like the fact that the language in this book is so down to earth and accessible. Don't be fooled though; the ideas presented are powerful and life-changing.
Her advice is so simple - chat with my houseplants, take a nap, enjoy a cup of tea, use my imagination, ask a loved one for help, smile at everyone I encounter throughout my day, avoid getting caught up in drama, say "yes" or "no" instead of "maybe", hand-wash the dishes with mindfulness, go for a walk, listen to and live from my heart! How easy!
Jacqueline clearly shows the reader how to notice and take delight in the countless gifts and moments we encounter every day as we make our way through the world, simply living our lives. You will be guided to appreciate each thought, feeling, encounter and experience that comes your way. She challenges you to know and be true to yourself. It's a book full of reminders, mantras, visualizations, pep talks, affirmations, solutions and invitations. Words have energy and power. Practicing the daily exercises allows the reader to harness that energy and power to be and experience peace, abundance, clarity, health, fun and joy. This is truly a recipe book for living happiness!
This book is a lovely reminder that we create our own happiness. 365 pages of this book consist of positive affirmations that allowed me to reflect on my life and to affirm that happiness can be created every day. The front cover - a cupcake, is a symbol of how one simple thing can make your day. Happiness is a piece of cake, or a long lie-in, or a friend calling you simply to ask how you are. One of my favourite pieces of wisdom in the book is on Day 122. Jacqueline Pirtle compares happiness to realising that you must do what is right and fitting for you. This inspired me to take a look at my own life, and to understand that to do what is right for me is not selfish, but essential for living a true happy life. I would recommend this book to anyone searching for meaning in their lives. This book is easy to read and is made for just picking up and reading when you need it most. I would prefer if this book included more personal anecdotes, however it is a lovely book.
This book is filled with rituals, conversations, hints, tricks and fun little playtimes to have with your energy. If you have forgotten to have fun, this book can help you remember. It is pretty cute. I could definitely find myself giving this as a gift to someone or using it to help a client get himself or herself out of a funk. I like that the pages are pretty short, easy to skim and clear on what to do.
I am a visualizer by nature, so if you aren’t good at visualizing, you may not like this book. There is a lot of invitations to imagine yourself somewhere or doing something. If you aren’t good with metaphors you might not like this book either. I personally love using metaphors to shift my perspective and give myself a new feeling to play with. Especially when I am lit up about something.
This is such a lovely little book! We all have moments in our lives where we lose sight of the things that bring us joy and we allow sour moments/experiences to shift our focus. This book is a page-a-day guide to finding and maintaining your happiness, including exercises to help you do so. It's not meant to be read in one sitting and would be perfect to read each day with your morning coffee or on your morning commute to jumpstart your day with a positive vibe, or to read before bed as you wind down from your day and prepare yourself for the next. It's a wonderful reminder to work to create your own happiness., and is presented in such a simple and accessible way that it would be a great addition to anyone's daily routine.
I think Jacqueline Pirtle and I would get on very well if we met, as I too am a positive person...my cup is generally half full not half empty. So I felt that we were on the same wavelength from the opening pages. The concept is simple. There is a daily meditation, exercise or guideline for each day of the year to help you focus on being happy. I too believe that we can learn to be happy by focusing on the little things in life, by looking more carefully at the world around us. An extract from Day 17 will help you see what this Self-Help book is about: "Grab this moment and do whatever it takes to shift yourself to any kind of happiness. Consciously expressing gratitude, focusing on seeing all beauty, smelling deliciousness, tasting yumminess, hearing wonderful sounds and feeling the magic in and around you works wonders"
This book is so incredibly special to me. Not only are Jacqueline and I on the same wave length to inspire and uplift others, Jacqueline spoke to my heart and spirit directly. The way she expresses and delivers her words really make it easy to understand, enjoy, and truly FEEL happiness. Each page is simple to read, but powerful when understood and put into practice. I would read this many times over (especially my favorite, most moving pages) and definitely will be gifting this book during the holidays!
This books was gifted to me by Book Publicity Services on behalf the author Jacqueline Pirtle. All opinions are my own.
I am a lover of all self-help books and this was a great addition to the list. A quick read but a wonderful reminder of the little things that literally contribute to our sense of daily happiness. The exercises are intended to help let go of the negative energy by staying focused on the positives in life.
I was sent a copy of this book and LOVED IT! As a person who is constantly busy and tired this book gave me a sprinkle of positive energy everyday! I think that the format of the book is what makes it so easy to read and fun. After a week of reading the book I began to look forward to reading the book the next day. Overall this is a amazing book and i HIGHLY recommend this book for anyone.
I received a copy of this book for review purposes and I’m so glad I said yes. Recently I’ve been questioning my happiness and this book has helped me practise gratitude and mindfulness so that I can have a more positive outlook. I read it in chunks over a period of time in order to review but it’s more a dip in and out of when you feel like you need a pick me up kind of book.
Happiness is a Piece of Cake We’re all born to win, but it is only too easy to get bogged down by life. Pirtle has written a book to help weary men and women to get the sparkle back. The author insists that a course of 365 exercises will make miracles happen. It is a wholehearted and passionate effort to help people help themselves. Whether it will help is up to the individual reader. For my own part, I can only add that singing and dancing certainly help people lay off their worries, at least, for a time. Is there any miracle treatment for unhappiness? Only if one accepts and comes to term with living in a world fraught with misery. The upside is that this earth still is a beautiful place. Five stars for the author’s enthusiasm.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. The title intrigued me and being happy is one of my goals. While this book contains a bit more "woo-woo," what it does is remind us to find happiness in every day, in every little action. In every smile. Even in every flower. We can find joy in every accomplishment and even in our failures as they teach us something new about ourselves and our goals.
I overall liked this book. It made me feel good in the morning when I read from it and helped me start off my day on the right foot. One of my favorite days talked about loving myself more and treating myself like my own best friend. I think that's a great reminder for everyone. It did get a little "fru-fru" during a few of the days - hence the 3.5 stars but overall I enjoyed the way it made me feel.
Jacquiline’s book is inspiring and uplifting, cheerful and fun. Just the sort of book one can enjoy first thing in the morning to get the day started on the happy foot!
I definitely reccommend keeping her book near a favorite chair or resting nook, so one is sure to pick it up for a daily dose of happy candy!
This is a delightful book that will help you bring happiness into everyday. Jacqueline has presented suggestions for each day of a full year to help train your thinking to be more positive and happy. I have my favorite days, but every day in her book is inspiring.
This is such a lovely, motivating, and encouraging book! I love how it draws our attention to the beauty of everyday life, and how it encourages us to find bliss in the things we encounter every day. What a beautiful daily read to help us shift our mindset and to embrace whatever comes our way.
Jacqueline's book is must have for anyone looking to add a little happiness and sunshine into their lives. What I love about it, is how it is set out in small bitesize chunks of happiness, which means I can read the daily tip over my morning coffee, without feeling I have to find a spare 15 minutes in the day to read it calmly. It fits perfectly into a busy lifestyle, reminding us that happiness is all around us, sometimes in the most obvious of places! Whether you read it all in one go, or dip in and out of it when you feel the need for a little extra dose of happiness, this is a great book to keep in your handbag or ready to grab on a nearby coffee table.
