Your Right to Be Rich is a working blueprint for a life of prosperity-an inspiring series of audio lectures that will give you powerful tools to achieve your dreams.
Oliver Napoleon Hill was an American self-help author and conman. He is best known for his book Think and Grow Rich (1937), which is among the best-selling self-help books of all time. Hill's works insisted that fervid expectations are essential to improving one's life. Most of his books were promoted as expounding principles to achieve "success". Hill is a controversial figure. Accused of fraud, modern historians also doubt many of his claims, such as that he met Andrew Carnegie and that he was an attorney.
Napoleon Hill was born in poverty and ignorance. But this didn’t stop him. He changed his thinking and therefore changed his life completely and the lives of thousands around the world.
Seriously, Mr Hill did an incredible labor of love. His philosophy is not a ‘get rich quick scheme’. It’s easy to associate this work with schemes that exist today but nothing could be further from the truth. His philosophy is very wholesome and heavily focused on developing superior character and discipline. He emphasizes the need to put in something before expecting something, and performing quality work for quality returns.
This book is basically a guide of fundamental principles that can help one live a more fulfilling and complete life. Not just money, but mental health, correct attitude, good relationships, etc it literally has everything. There is so much to digest it’s not profitable to just read it only once. While going through this book my life physically improved. I think I have to read this book everyday to continue at a high level. During my time reading it, I produced the highest quality work. Not to divulge much details but I was working on a special project . This book was like fuel to help me reach into the crevices and revive dormant skills, enabling me to produce high quality work. I enjoyed every ounce of the book but my favorite and most impacting was the section on discipline, self- control and budgeting. I know that I needed to address these deficiencies head on, without reservation and the author helped me to get there. For example my life became so much easier when I divided my day into three sections of eight: 8 hours for sleep, 8 hours for work, and 8 hours for free time. Of course its not always perfect, but in the past when I thought ‘I didn’t have time for things’ I realize this was a dishonest take. I do have time for things, I just have to manage it better.
I recommend this book to everyone who: -Needs direction on developing a life plan and purpose -Needs motivation and context on the value of discipline and self control -Want to change their thinking completely and be free from destructive and negative habits.
the right mental attitude will help produce the right results.
I spent eleven hours with Napoleon Hill and couldn't wait to say goodbye.
Sure, I could have stopped listening at any time. And certainly no one forced me to finish.
I wanted to listen to the entire program (a series of lectures recorded live in 1954).
Mr. Hill is a bit of a legend in the world of self-improvement and positive psychology. And back in the day his ideas and concepts were probably quite revolutionary.
His ideas on physical health and healthy eating are fantastic and wonder if more people had adopted those principles in the late 50s how it might have informed our current food crisis.
I've not read any of his books, but picked up this audio program because I thought it would give me a great overview of his life's work and philosophy. And it did that.
Additionally, I found Mr. Hill to be pompous, self-important, preachy and often unbearable in his presentation and if I recommend anything it would be to read his work and not listen to him talk about his work.
It's great like the rest of Napoleon Hill's work. It's essentially a lecture about each of the 17 principles of success. The interludes can be kind of irritating; however, the informational tidbits therein are helpful.
It's a classic, and much of what is said hasn't been new in those days and still isn't, now. That said, the language and narrative don't age well and feel out of time, the framework confusing.
If you’ve read and liked enjoyed “Think and Grow Rich” by the same author, you’ll love this.
Firstly it’s nice to hear rare recordings of the authors lectures (which this audio program was vs book) - putting a voice to the name also shows his energy and charisma in a different light vs reading his words. Secondly don’t let the title deceive you - it’s not rich in a monetary sense only…
But rich in character, relationships, health and more - which is the true definition of riches and this is covered well in regards what you must become to achieve them.

The concepts that Napoleon Hill discusses in his books are timeless and applicable. They're worth revisiting because whatever field you're in, the building blocks are largely the same. The first read through of some of these books in the prosperity thinking category can seem a bit esoteric at first but this one has a lot to take notes from.
Especially interesting to me is the last section of the book where Hill gives a little bit of lifestyle and fitness advice. He would occasionally fast for a week. If I still catch Hell for not eating every minute of the day now, I can only imagine what the 1930s mind must've thought of the practice. Which is interesting because fasting is a pretty good way to focus on abundance. The idea that pretty much we're surrounded by excess indulgences and heavily processed foods at all hours of the day, and most people could do with skipping a meal or five anyways(going to Wal-Mart, it's easy to see walking examples of this!).
Overall I think this one's probably going to end up being read over and over.
One more reason that Hill interests me is because he's not necessarily an occultist, but his thoughts on conjuring thoughtforms and guides that seemed to take on lives of their own is certainly interesting. So whether you're a business person or you follow the left hand path, Hill's got something for you!
Another excellent book/audio by Napoleon Hill. This is one of the longest if not the longest lecture series by Napoleon Hill (11 hour long).
This book showcases Napoleon Hill's thoughts really well and I learn a great deal. The only drawback is that it's similar to some of his other books and this one is more long winded and repetitive.
Do you know that Napoleon Hill only publish Think and Grow Rich from age 53?

Napoleon Hill's works are oft-recommended classics for achieving what you want in life. But I was pretty disappointed listening to this audiobook.
It's a combination of religion, the so-called "law of attraction," disproven science, cringey attitudes (such as the idea of treating everyone equally, "not seeing color"), and occasionally some reasonable pieces of advice, all wrapped up in poor quality audio.
This isn't a carefully organized and edited book, read by a narrator. It's a very old recording of the author giving a presentation to a live audience. It's often hard to make out the words, and the format doesn't work as well - especially when the author engages in call and response with the audience, and all we can do is listen in in confusion.
My suggestion - ditch this. Find something more recent and better proven instead.
Great rules & principles for a successful life. The lists in this book are very comprehensive, so it would be easy to get lost in them. Napoleon Hill has (despite how he may convince you otherwise) something of an ego about him that is quite apparent in this work, but the general content of the book is excellent. He also gets a little "funny" in this book when it comes to religion, referring to an overall anyman's god as "Infinite Intelligence." Further, near the beginning of the book he convinced me that he must be an atheist or agnostic, but later in the book he claims to "believe in God." So, as with any "self-improvement" literature, it is to be consumed with a tempered and level-headed mindset for proper digestion.
To finish reading this book is such a challenge because of its pages. Every page you are reading, you learn something. Something that can help you on how to succeed by having positive mental attitude!!
Great summary of Napoleon Hill teachings! It is also a well-structured form of all his idea from Laws of Success, Think & Grow Rich & How to raise your own salary?
There is nothing really new here if you have already read Napoleon Hill before. If you have enjoyed his work as I have, then this is really special because it is delivered by Napoleon Hill himself in a 1954 series of speeches which were taped. It felt a bit like meeting the author in person and I think that is quite special and worth recommending to anyone who has really enjoyed his work.
Incredible. Given his work began in the 1920's,to call him a visionary would be a massive understatement. Essential reading for anyone truly committed to abundant transformation........
I started listening to the audio version of this book on my 40 hour drive from New York to Nevada. I loved listening to Napoleon Hill share the ideas he'd gathered and assembled over a number of decades. It was delightful to hear the author's voice. Highly recommended!
