Wow,
This book is an example of the flipside of self publishing.
A bad writing style.
Superficial characters and lack of world building.
Immature dialogues combined with a thought process and reaction lacking any authenticity.

Horrible writing. Like something a 7th grader would write. Here’s an example of the last bit that I could tolerate before I declared it DNF 12% into the book.
“She smelled good. I was able to examine her face. Her facial features were delicate. Her pink lips were full. She felt small and fragile in my arms. She would be mine.”
It’s like the author can’t string together a sentence longer than 5 words! Might as well be, “see spot run” level of writing. I have NEVER given a poor review until now (usually I don’t bother leaving written reviews, just star ratings) and I read 200+ books per year, mostly trashy alien/vampire romance novels, so for me to finally leave a review like this, it had to be bad. I wanted to read this so much too, cause the plot sounds sooo right up my alley, but I just can’t get past the truncated language. Maybe I’ll return some day (when I’m desperate for new material to read) and be able to get past that and sucked into the plot, but there’s thousands of other “Mars needs women” books out there with better writing, so probably not.

I was given this ARC for my honest review.
Vicki Varsa is a typical Hollywood agent, working every weekend and always dressed in her business suits and Prada heels. Let's face it, she's ruthless, bossy and quite out spoken which tends to put fear in people. She preferred it that way, it got things done. Her job has become her life and she doesn't have time for romance. She's been coerced into going on a yoga retreat in the desert to get away from work, cell phones and the internet. Who knew, it turned out to be a great way to network with people and she was really starting to like the women she had met. There were 15 in all, if you counted the director of the program. After meditation the first night, they were on a night hike in the desert when what appeared to be a plane of some kind landed. Thinking it was a prank when a ramp lowered and 3 10ft tall blue men appeared, Vicki marched up to confront the one speaking, Captain Alicron Qinov. As soon as she started poking at his stomach and abs she realizes it's not a joke, THIS IS FOR REAL!!! The women started running and screaming in a panic, but it was too late. Gas was being released and they were soon dropping like flies fast asleep.
Captain Alicron Qinov is the pilot of the spacecraft being led on a test run to Earth where human females can be abducted. His job right now is to abduct at least 10 women (3 for his crew and the remaining women to be turned over to the officials of Xeion) so each could have a wife and begin to repopulate thei dying species of Kynons. Alicron was the youngest of 4 sons and an exceptional pilot and had never lost a mission. This was his opportunity to prove not only to himself but eveyone else that he was vital to the Kynon race. As soon as he saw her, Alicron decided Vicki in all her fearless glory would be his mate. They were immediately retrieved, loaded on board and set to return to Xeion.
Murphy's Law has to set in (anything that can will go wrong). Follow along with Maia Starr as she weaves of tale so fascinating you won't want to put it down.

Captain Alicron Qinov headed up to the bridge as they approached the blue planet. They were here to capture at least 10 human women as a test run. If they were compatible, more secret trips would follow to repopulate their planet Xeion. The race of Kynon would die out if they were not successful. The Lieutenant and Ambassador, bickering like children, argued with the Captain because they wanted to be sure to get their first pick of the females.
The ladies on their relaxation retreat spent time meditating, stretching, and then went out for a moonlight hike in the desert. The stars were beautiful. One woman spotted a meteor but they were confused when it stopped and hovered above the ground! Very tall men came toward them and the women were doused with a sleeping gas and taken aboard their smaller spacecraft.
Vicki Varsa woke on a hard floor. Apparently her “dream” was real! She would not accept it! She banged the locked door until Alicron entered and repeated why they were taken. But on the way to their planet, they were deliberately pulled into another planet as their ship broke apart and crashed. Alicron was alone, but below a ridge, he spotted a large group of cyborgs! And elsewhere, Nancy and Vicki woke up in a cage being carried by more cyborgs! Would they survive? Would Alicron be able to rescue them? And what happened to the rest of the crew and passengers when their ship crashed here?
I enjoy this author’s books, but there was much repetition in the dialog of things that had already been said, as if the reader hadn’t understood it the first time or two. The dialog doesn’t comfortably flow – it has a choppy feeling somehow, very stilted. I think an editor would be helpful with this and correcting other small errors throughout. But the story line, as always, is good and keeps the reader interested in following the adventure. Find out who survived and what happened to them!

4 star story and characters, 3 star reading experience
This story needs a trip back through editing and proofreading... or perhaps the non-final draft made it to the ebook? Either way, Alicron has the wrong name at one point, K8L is (incorrectly) a planet early on, and a character (correctly) later... though sometimes he is called Mango which felt wrong. He was a Cyborg who didn’t seem to have a nickname, so it felt like a decision was made to change the Character’s name at some point, and not all the Mangos were found.
All that being said, I adored the stubborn, spunky Vicki who did not just “get over” being abducted from Earth, did not simply forgive Alicron for his role in that abduction the first time (or second) he did something nice, and perhaps most importantly was willing to face her fears rather than leave a friend “behind.”
Alicron is amusing in his own right, and played well opposite Vicki. I am reading this series out of order, and enjoying each book / story as a stand alone story that leaves me curious about the antics of their fellow travelers.

*this story was given to me by the author for an honest review*
ok... so the overall story was decent. I wasn't real impressed with the characters. I liked vikki but alicron made me really mad with the whole property thing.. like at first I can understand its just a job but dude, by the time you're having sex with her for the first time you should at least be using her name instead of "human female". also I kept getting really confused with the name of th antagonist.. the lead cyborg is alternatively referred to as K8L and Mango... so is he a piece of fruit or an abreviation? also while I appreciate vimki's independent streak and take no shit attitude she did let it make her stupid a couple times.. but that's ok.. it made the story more interesting the first time anyways. after that it's like omg will u just give the man the benifit of the doubt and trust him to keep u safe! anyways.. after some serious editing and some tlc I think this is a good beginning to an interesting series.

Alicron is the first book in a brand new series by one of my favorite sci-fi romance writers. If this story is any indication, it is going to be AMAZING! The premise is one that I have seen in other sci-fi romances, but Maia Starr has such a wonderful way of telling a story that the idea is fresh and new. I think one of the reasons I loved this story so much was Vicki. She is feisty and spunky throughout the whole story. She added a sense of humor that I really enjoyed. The story also has heart-pounding action, and I'm not just talking about the heat level between Alicron and Vicki. The journey these two take to reach their HEA is full of drama, action, and heat, and they are surrounded by great support characters, who's stories I can't wait to read.

What a exciting new space romance and a great start for a new series. I have to say I absolutely loved Vicki!!! She was sassy, fierce, and feisty thoughout the whole book. Her sense of humor was hilarious. The adventure that Vicki and Alicron experience to reach their HEA was jam packed action plenty of drama, action, and of course steamy romance. Love definitely didn't conquer all here but the steamy chemistry sure did between Alicron and Vicki making this a enjoyable and entertaining read looking forward to seeing what else is in store for this series. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no minority compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.

Maia Starr has come up with another great series. Alice in is just the kind of big blue alien I want for my own. He's demanding but a just person, he has and wants just like most men, but he hasn's learned how to be less demanding with a human female. He does learn quickly if his human captive is to be his. He's such a loveable alien and Ms Starr has done an excellent story around him. Now to try to be patient and wait for the next book. Hurry buy your book so you don't miss anything.

A contentious relationship because the bride has been kidnapped..who knew! Alicron is a definitely flawed character but 10 feet, blue and an 8 pack makes for a very entertaining and aggravating story. Vicki is a very determined woman and getting back to Earth is on her lists of musts...this is great story of opposites attracting and love maybe not conquering all but their chemistry makes for great heat and a book you can't set down.

This fantastic and wonderful book is the start to a new series and I have to admit that I really enjoyed reading this book. What you will find in this book is: drama, suspense, twists & turns, adventure, action, humor, aliens, human females, abduction, cyborgs, defiance, lust, love and some steamy erotic scenes. The story-line and plot is well thought out and written. The characters are well developed with personalities and moods suited to the situations they find themselves in.

Maia Starr has began another great Alien series. Captain Alicron Qinov meets his match with Hollywood Agent Vicki Varsa. The verbal sparring between the two main characters makes the book worth reading if nothing else. LOL. The plot is solid and the characters are well developed. Though you feel for Vicki's plight, you also want to slap her for getting herself in the situation she finds herself in... Strong writing indeed! Can't wait to see what happens on the rescue mission. Must read.

This book is definitely one to read. It has adventure and excitement. add a bit of steam heat ro it; the best novel to read. This novel is about Alicron. An alien soldier on a mission to save his race of Kynon brethren. Along the way he is met with adventures and very empowered women. This is a true Alien adventure story. It was a truly enjoyable read.

I have read this book as an ARC and this is my freely given review
Off to another alien adventure in Maia Starr classic style. She has once again written a story that keeps you turning the pages! She has invovled many more alien races in the book, causing the reader to wonder who will show up next and if they are friend or foe.

Great world building, good story
I enjoyed reading this book. The story was detailed and interesting. The characters were full bodied and easy to understand. I felt like it was a little repetitive in places and needed some line editing, but overall it was a fun and easy to read story.

This was such a fun read. The aliens are blue and their planet needs human females to survive. Something is killing the females. This is the first raid on earth and 12 females are stolen.
Alicron is in charge and everything seems to be right on schedule. It doesn't stay that way.
This was so enjoyable. Not to complex. Sweet characters. A light hearted read. Loved it.

I chose to read and review this book. I am a fan of the author and do enjoy her work. I liked the plot and the characters. But the issue was the fact that no one corrected the errors in this book. It would have been better with the corrections made. I liked the interactions between the main characters. I can't wait to read more of this series

Awful
Ok, extremely short story, with a bunch of other storys, and it wasn't any good. I was bored stuff by chapter two! I love alien romance but Vicki was beyond stupid. She was telling all the time, screaming she hated the guy for stealing her and then she turns around and has sex with him but she still hates him. Just don't bother.

I really enjoyed this book it has a great storyline and characters it a great start to new series and I definitely want to read more in this series I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.

I really enjoyed this story. Great characters and storyline! Could use more editing to fix some typos and a few inconsistencies, but overall it didn’t detract from the story. I will be reading more by this author for sure!

I have mixed feelings about this book. It is fun and page-turner! It has adventure and action, the plot is interesting - I love space travel! - the romance is good, I love Maia Starr's wrinting style ... but Alicron is ten feet tall! What?! It is sooo weird! Imagine the sex scenes!!!

Unnecessary violence!
There is no need for the violence in the early books, a good author can leave you to your own imagination with the right wording, the Aliens go too far.... Didn't enjoy this book one bit

Loved the story
This was a good story, however there were tons of grammatical errors and a few description issues. I could still follow the story but it was very annoying. The story itself had good detail and development. I loved the story and can't wait to read more.

I hardly ever write reviews and this is actually my first negative one. I agree with Mary, the author really needs to work on her writing and specially descriptive paragraphs and dialogue. This book could have been a 2-star because usually the first ones in a series aren’t that good, but although I got the whole pack from KindleUnlimited, I could only get through 2 of them. It’s a pity because the story could be really interesting, although it’s similar to other authors, if the plot and characters has been developed thoughtfully.
