MoneyLab Reader 2: Overcoming the Hype

Rate this book
MoneyLab is a network of artists, activists, and geeks experimenting with forms of financial democratization. Entering the 10th year of the global financial crisis, it still remains a difficult yet crucial task to distinguish old wine from its fancy new bottles. The MoneyLab network questions persistent beliefs, from Calvinist austerity, growth, and up-scaling, to trustless, automated decision making and (anarcho-)capitalist dreams of cybercurrencies and blockchained solutionism.

The only couple good were
FINANCIALIZATION AS A MEDIUM: SPECULATIVE NOTES ON POST-BLOCKCHAIN ART by LAURA LOTTI and ON INTENSIVE SELF-ISSUANCE: ECONOMIC SPACE AGENCY AND THE SPACE PLATFORM ECONOMIC SPACE AGENCY, the rest were kind of overshooting and redundant, as typical when someone who does not understand the actual logistics of Econ attempts to socially critique it, but still very informative! And super cool book! Glad I found it
