Kara Phillips thought she'd be able to avoid her ex-husband in a town as big as Longview, Texas. They led different lives the Pinewood resturant demanded all of her time and Rob had a successful man's responsibilities-and a successful man's diversions. But when their paths crossed again, Kara was shocked to discover how little they had changed. After five years, passion still crackled between them. But passion had never been the problem. Love had. Back then, Kara's feelings had never been enough for her husband. Was she foolish to hope they would be now?

There really wasn't much to the story, though I thought at first it would be better. The H and h divorce over a misunderstanding on both their parts (she thinks he's cheating, he thinks she wants to go back to the wealthy lifestyle she grew up in), with both of them miserable but not enough to talk to each other; she runs home to Daddy, he lets her go.

They meet again after five years, during which time he got married (ironically, to the woman the h thought he cheated with) and became a widower, while she kept dating men her father fixed her up with but didn't care for any of them. The attraction's still there (as well as the love) and after a lot of stops and starts they both find out how wrong they were to jump to conclusions, remarry, then she gets jealous all over again, of his business partner/former sister-in-law.

It turns out, the OW didn't want the H for herself, just wanted the h out of his life because she resented her taking her late sister's place.

It was just so SILLY! So was the h gulping down soda, cupcakes and other assorted junk food, being disorganized, and having silly fits of temper, then crying all over the place. She was supposed to be in her late 20's but acted like a teenager too often.

In the beginning, there was a hint of mystery about phone calls the h would get where someone would hang up when she answered, and also a busybody neighbor who started the rumors that the H was cheating, but nothing comes of either of those things.

No big deal if you skip this one.
