Featuring profiles of all National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Presidents General from 1890-2013, this book only gives us a brief glimpse of the character, leadership and accomplishments of the women who have worn the wide blue sash.
From Mary Desha to Merry Ann Thompson Wright, these women were devoted to the organization and put their own personal stamps on the accomplishments made during their tenure.
From renting rooms in office buildings to constructing Memorial Continental Hall to building Constitution Hall, all these women of worth contributed to their time in the history of DAR. More women will come and add to the “ever-expanding story.”
I had heard about this book, and wanted to read it for some time. I finally found a copy. I am truly inspired by these women who did so much, not just for DAR, but for their communities.
