Touching

I won this book in a Goodreads First Reads giveaway.

I saw the description and wanted to read this to my little one. We decided to read it this afternoon for quiet time. It was actually quite a sweet book with coping the loss of a pet. My mom recently lost her dog so this hit home for us. It gave her an outlet to know that it is ok to still feel sad. I really liked the message. The illustrations were cute and everything was well written. It perfectly captured all the appropriate emotions.

Kyle in the Corner by Jason Srebnick is a children's picture book about a little boy acting out because he is mourning the loss of his dog, and doesn't know how to handle his grief. A wise mother helps him to come to terms with it.

A very sweet and well-done book to help children learn with how to deal with their feelings of loss.

Many thanks to Goodreads and Amazon for giving me a copy of the book to read and review.

I laughed at this book a lot, at first. This kid is really dedicated to acting like a dog. I actually even started to question whether he was one at some point, which I'm only slightly ashamed to admit (but if it can make me do that, kids should definitely enjoy it, in my opinion). However, once it revealed WHY he was acting like a dog, I felt a little bad for laughing. It's sad, but I think this is a good book to help teach that lesson.
Note: I received this book for free through Goodreads Giveaways.

I won this book via Goodreads First Reads. This is my six year old's review: "I liked it. It was little but sad, though. His sister died. He was pretending to be a dog. It was pretty silly."

My name is Lydia noelle moore. Kyle in the corner is a very inspiring and amazing book that teaches kids how to behave well and be responible even when things are tough. In Kyle in the corner Kyle is having a hard time because his dog Ellie passed away. Kyle learns how to behave well and be happy at the same time. Kyle's mom is upset at him at at first, but then she talks to him about what he did and why he did it and she totally understands. She takes him to "Ellie's place" (a place in the woods where they go to talk to Ellie) and Kyle ends up fine. ( and so does his mom) the moral of the story is, you have to be responsible even when things are tough. P.S my grandma Sandy Mills won this book on goodreads and let me read it. (Thanks so much!!!! This was an awesome book!)
