Main Idea Workbook: Reading Comprehension Skill Builders

Rate this book
Does your learner struggle with identifying the main idea? Identifying the main idea or topic of a text or paragraph is often quite challenging for struggling learners. Our 6-step process is designed to scaffold your learner from the absolute basics through to independent success. In this workbook, your learner begins by examining single sentences and identifying what each sentence is about. They’ll learn that a single sentence can be about several topics. Your learner then steps from single sentences to two-sentence texts. Through visual representation, they will learn that the main idea of a text can be determined by seeing what most of the sentences are about. By the end of the workbook, your student will know how to identify the main idea of 3-4 sentence texts without any additional support or information. A great achievement! This workbook is designed to appeal to reluctant and struggling learners. We include lots of white space and keep text density to a minimum. We understand your learners!

I am a reading teacher. These books were a good find. I also purchased this physical book and a handful of others in this series. They are good skill books to be used by a tutor or a parent in helping their child with reading skills. The fact that Kindle carries these on line, makes these available for most people to use on a tablet.
