I honestly cannot get enough of this series! Once again, Sarah K.L. Wilson has done it again with her amazing characters and even her awesome cliffys at the end of each chapter and the book!

Amel is now an apprentice to Hubric, the famous Purple dragon rider. With his help, she has a message to deliver but before she does that, she has to face the dangers of protecting Savette and the Dark Prince from capture. Why? Well, to avoid any spoilers, they are special and could prevent a war.

Amel is still the girl with the biggest heart, no matter if her enemies were her allies she still tried to reasons with them and tries to understand their motives of going behind her. But what I love about Amel is that she is very resilient and continues in despite all the troubles she tends to have.

With her trusted and beloved dragon, they will find out extraordinary information of their journey, one that can lead to dangers and another to heartbreak. Can they save everyone and themselves in time?

Such an amazing series, I love all the characters. I just hope I get to see more Amel and Leng together! I love those two

Received a copy for an honest review, thank you!

Sarah K.L. Wilson’s Dragon School series is the exception to my avoiding serial stories rule. From the very start of this series I was sucked in deep, and despite going a while without reading the books, now I’m back into the stories I believe it is going to be extremely difficult to pull me away again. In fact, I’m soon going to be back to the point where I am anxiously awaiting the next release.

Dragon School: First Flight, book one, sucked me completely into the world – it was so much more than I’d expected, and I couldn’t wait to get more. Dragon School: Initiate, book two, sucked me in even deeper – it showed me there was more to the story than I’d originally thought, ensuring I would pick up the next. Dragon School: The Dark Prince, book three, was a very important book in the series – it may not have been my favourite book, but it was vital to the overall story. Dragon School: The Ruby Isles, book four, continues to move things forward in a wonderful way – it may not be my favourite of the stories, but it is another important addition. Dragon School: Sword, book five, was another brilliant read, adding more to the series – it was also the book that reminded me why I was following the series in the first place, pulling me back in after a short hiatus. Dragon School: Dusk Covenant, book six, added plenty of new twists – more than enough to ensure I remained ensnared with the story.

Following the formula of the prior books, Dragon School: First Message brings even more to the table to further to addiction to the storyline. As with the prior books, this is a short read that hits hard – there is action along with new details, answers are given and new mysteries appear. There is plenty to keep you turning the pages, and then the ending will leave you desperately wanting more.

If you’ve enjoyed the series thus far, then you’re guaranteed to enjoy Dragon School: First Message. The world is slowly opening up, and it’s a wonderful thing to see. The storyline digs ever deeper, and you’re left excited to see how everything plays out. There is plenty throughout this one to keep you entertained, and entertained you will be.

Without a doubt, this is a serial I’m enjoying more than I ever thought I would.

And then came the most nerve wrecking book yet... fortunately, being the seventh book, I have resigned myself to crazy cliffhangers, this one being no different. I wanted to say it was the worst, but then I remembered the endings of the books three, four a and five. However, this particular ending is more personal than the others.
So what was so different here? In the previous books, there were dangers, suspicions and challenges. There were also moments of peace and safety, or minimal comfort. In this book, there is none of those. If they were running for their lives in the previous book, they are running twice as fast now and there are no breaks. There is constant danger lurking somewhere. At all times. Nerve wrecking roller coaster of non-stop action.
Amel, Hubric, Savette and Rakturan are still together, which is longest that any group Amel was part of was together. The group dynamics are quite interesting, as Amel and Hubric are getting more trusting of each other and a strange bond forms between Savette and Rakturan. More or less, there are no secrets left among four of them. Best of all, some of the secrets of dragon-rider communication and bonds are revealed.
There are some sparse happy and bright moments in this book, however, the series is getting darker, more serious, more dangerous and more epic. Amel remains one of the most amazing characters ever, the one who never gives up even when all the odds are stacked against her. And Raolcan remains the most amazing dragon of all.
This amazing series only makes sense if read in order: Dragon School: First Flight (Dragon School #1), Dragon School: Initiate (Dragon School #2), Dragon School: The Dark Prince (Dragon School #3), Dragon School: Ruby Isles (Dragon School #4), Dragon School: Sworn (Dragon School #5), Dragon School: Dusk Covenant (Dragon School #6), Dragon School: First Message (Dragon School #7), Dragon School: Warring Promises (Dragon School #8), and more books have been announced.

"We each make our own decisions and we stand or fall by the truth of them."

After the dramatic turn of events in the Dusk Covenant, and all the changes the healing arches brought Amel and her friends, they've got to get back on track again. Amel still has an important message to deliver to the General of the Spire, Comard Eaglespring, and they need to tell those in power of all that has happened to them before and on their way there.

Delivering her message is their top priority, but so is keeping Savette and Rakturan hidden from the ones who want to capture and kill them. Being chased by Ifrit's and those who are disloyal to the Dominar proves to be no easy task, but being dragon riders, they're used to being in danger. There are traitors and enemies everywhere, and the worse of them all turn up at the Spire the same time they do. What's worse is they seem to have some very important people on their side.

It seems the prophecies of the Dominion are coming true, but they all mean different things to different people, and it's easy to twist old words into the truth you want it to be. Both light and dark sides are claiming to have proof of the prophecies becoming reality, but which ones are actually true? Amel Leafbrought has never believed in them, but with everything that has been happening she might be having a change of heart. However, in order to learn them, and fight for their truth, she will have to join the Lightbringers. Can she make such a important decision so quickly?

Although Amel traveled to the Spire to deliver a messge, she receives two letters herself. The first one is full of love, hope and promises - the other is an ominous and dreadful threat that leaves Amel in a "damned if you do, damned if you dont" sort of situation...

First Flight is the seventh instalment of Sarah K.L. Wilson's Dragon School serial. This is a fast paced YA fantasy story about dragon riders.

Amel still has so much to learn, and I love that, though she isn't in Dragon Rider school anymore, she's learning from someone who's lendendary and known for all his adventures. Amel and Hubric's master-and-apprentice relationship will grow so much more if Hubric takes Amel on as a lightbringer, and I'm so excited to see how that plays out. She's learning on the go, and its more than just how to become a dragon rider! Speaking of being a dragon rider, I love that she was trusted (yes, the circumstances were a bit dire and desperate, but still...) to deliver her very first message from the Dominar himself, despite not being a full Dragon Rider.

Prince Rakturan has been quickly going through some major changes too. I love how the author addresses how quickly and dramatically he's seemingly changed sides, and makes it feel so natural. We get to know him on a deeper level and some of his past behavior was explained (though, not all of it in great detail...). I'm beginning to like him more and I'm interested in seeing how his role will effect the story line - especially with his newfound relationship with Savette and Enkenay.

Some older secondary characters are brought back in this episode, and while I could sort of already see them being on the other side of the war, I'm still surprised by how it all turned out. We do end up losing one of them, and one hand I was kind of sad about it, but on the other I was glad.

I love how the prophecies are coming into play and seeing what they mean to different people of other cultures in this world. I have a good feeling that even though the author is making us think they might be leaning towards a certain answer, we're going to end up thrown for a serious loop.

As always, each of these novellas ends on an intense cliffhanger, and this one is no different. I can't wait to see how Amel and her group will react to that threatening letter, and what they'll run into while delivering their next message.

I really like where this is going. It feels like slowly the puzzle pieces that have been laid out in the previous "episodes" are falling into place, while the world is still expanded. There is more suspense and action coming and I can't wait to read the next one!!

Another thrilling episode. Even though there is a lot of adventure, we also get to understand the realm a little better.
I did learn a lesson this book: don’t wish characters a larger part or you’ll regret it. Oh, and never lay hands on a purple dragon’s rider.

Amel is once again stuck between what she knows deep down inside and someone telling her to take sides in this dangerous and politically inclined war. After escaping from the healing arches Amel and her companions and mentor are back on track to deliver a message, but along the way many surprises await. I really liked this serial and enjoyed learning more about the Lightbringers. Our main character has a rough path ahead of her, but with her loyal dragon by her side, I know she will fight to get the truth. And how can we wait after that cliffhanger??

Dragon School: First Message is the seventh book in the Dragon School series.

I voluntarily received and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Slowly all the elements of the story are coming together. I love it how, just like Amel, we're sucked into this world deeper and deeper with each book. We see more of the kingdom, we see more of the different sides of the conflict and we get a better feel of everything that's going on or might be going on in the future. Each book we learn something new, but after a few books that felt more like filler book, I got the feeling that this book was the start of a new exciting arc!

I really can't wait what's waiting for Amel, Raolcan and Savette. Over the last few books I've started to love Savette more and more. I hope that her character will be expanded soon and that she'll get more room to grow into someone important and someone that matters, but considering everything that's going on I don't even really doubt that.

I also can't wait to see what's waiting for Amel. We know that she got this alarming letter and I'm so curious to find out what it means, what they're expecting of Amel and what this means for her task and her life!

What I personally appreciate too, is that the crutch is still present, but not that important. Yes, it makes her slower, she has trouble climbing stairs, but it's just something that is part of Amel. It's not made into this big deal anymore and Amel is getting more and more creative with each book!

So, I'm gonna count down the days until the next installment comes out!

Just as fantastic as always!! People we have come to know in this series are revealed to be in the Dusk Covenant - particularly Amel's old Dragon School teacher. And also an old aquaintence ans friend. The ending to each book is always a cliffhanger!

I really don't know how to review this as so much happens in these short books, but the good thing is that they never feel like they are fast paced or slow either.

In this book, Starrie is brought up to be the 'Chose One' from the prophicies, ofc, we know this is all a lie by the Dusk Covenant who wish to destroy the governments of the Dominon and Beijong to establish their own rules where they are at the top.

Sevette and Rakturan are the ones, 'twice blind.' The truly seem to be the ones the prophicies spole of and the only ones who can stop this madness along with our other heroes. As such, it is critical that they remain hidden and safe as Amel travels to deliver her first message. And this is where all I said above was revealed.

I love how no matter what Roalcan is always protecting Amel. Even if it means burning to a crisp people she knows so that his friend and rider may live.

Things are heating up once again as our group truly cannot rest or stay in one play for long as so many enemies around them who want them eliminated. Not to mention that cliffhanger - Leng has been captured and the Covenant threatens to kill him if Sevette is not given to them!

I look forward to the next book!

What an exciting episode! It is the “who shot JR?” of the series so far, in that it ends just when you want to turn the page for the next chapter.
In this episode, Amel, Humeric, Savette and the Dark Prince finally make it to Dominion City. The atmosphere of the guards reflects the turbulence in the outlying areas. Surprise! Just as Savette seems poised to assume a salvation role as a Bringer of Light, a Bringer of darkness appears, being a “false prophet” claiming to be the foretold prophet. Her henchmen (or henchwomen, I should say) try to eliminate Amel. The final scene is a letter about her beloved Leng-he is held captive and they want her to bring the ransom!
This episode makes it even more clear that the battle is between GOOD and EVIL. Much as the Bible depicts Jesus battling Satan to oust him from controlling the earth, we find dark forces battling the good or Light forces. It becomes clearer why Purple dragons and riders are different-they uphold Truth. The dark forces already are lying already, and likely this will worsen. Will Truth and Light win out over dark and evil? Perhaps we will find out in the next episode.

I can’t stop saying how much I love this series! I highly recommend this as a must read! I have been hooked since the first book and now here after reading book 7 it’s definitely one crazy ride of awesomeness! With each book it’s no surprise the story just keeps getting better and better and even more addicting. I have been a fan of Amel and her dragon Raoclan since the beginning. Things have gotten even more interesting and crazy intense that’s for sure and once I started reading I couldn’t stop until i finished! I don’t like to post any spoilers. Everyone should read it. It’s sooo good!!!! You won’t be disappointed at all. If anything like me when each book ends it definitely leaves me wanting more that need to know what happens next is killing me haha. That ending good lord... I can’t wait until the next book comes! I received an ARC copy of this book.

This is the first story I’ve read in this series, but I have to say that it kept me interested from beginning to end. It was easy to pick up the story; although I’m sure I missed a lot of significant events in the previous books. I loved the interaction of Amel and her dragon Raolcan speaking to each other through their minds. Raolcan seems to have quite a sense of humor and is wise, but can also be very fierce when necessary. I came to really like Amel’s companions, Hubric, Savette and Rakturan. You will find love, treachery, allies, enemies, and much more in this story, and, of course, dragons. What a cliffhanger ending. I can hardly wait to read the next book in this series. I received an advance reader copy of this book. This is my honest review.

I must admit it took me a little bit to get into it again. This epsiode continues like always straight where the last ended. It sends Amel with Hubric, Savette and Rakturan to the Dominian City for Amel to deliver her first message she received from the Dominar himself. But the plot is thickening and more evil is on the rise.
This episode sheds some light on the prophecy, Rakturan's history and the Dragon Riders which was interesting. With the revelation at the end of this book I can't wait for the next instalment – I think Amel will find herself between a rock and a hard place - and Leng will need saving - again!

This is the seventh book in the Dragon School series and wow this series just keeps getting better and better. So many of the unanswered questions get answered and we are able to get a clear idea on what is going on. Even though there are answers to questions there are more twist and turns that were unexpected. While some may complain that this book is shorter than the others, I think it was perfect to just catch up on things happening without a forced feeling. Really love this serial. It has dragons and an amazing dragon in Raolcan at that. Great character growth, really love the way Amel is growing and developing through each book and mystery and intrigue throughout. There were some interesting developments in the story in First Message and something happened that I really didn't see coming. I have to admit at that point I really was gripping into my kindle with nerves. I'm really looking forward to reading the next part, this really is shaping up to be a great series.

Emotionally thrilling just does not go far enough to describe this latest installment of dragon school. This is an edge of your seat hoping they will survive the next turn kinda story. Quick, yet to exciting to put down and as always ends on a cliff. As the danger grows and war seem just around the corner Amel grows stronger and her bond with her dragon keeps her going when all else crumbles. Can't wait for more!!!

Another amazing read in The Dragon School series from Sarah K.L. Wilson! These serials read more like long chapters. This is absolutely the best thing I've read from her and she’s a darn good author! A very quick short read that you can't wait to get to the end of the page so you can turn the page and get to the end of the page so you can turn the page and get to the next book, you get the picture. I can’t wait for the next book to come out.

Par for the course in this Novella series.

The pacing of each section feels similar given how short each one has to be. Still Sarah Wilson is able to push her story forward section by section while also completing the subplot for each section. I'm not a big fan of Cliffhangers but given that I'm reading this on Kindle unlimited it does not bother me that each section basically ends with what would be considered "to be continued" on TV.

I'm running out of wonderful things to say about this series. If it were a tv show with a whole week between episodes, I would go nuts waiting for the next installment. I love that I just have to get the next book with one click on my tablet. This series just keeps getting better and better.
On a negative note, though, there were a couple of editing errors in this one. Simple things that a good editor shouldn't have missed...but I'm not letting this take away from my enjoyment!!!

This installment was pretty enthralling as Amel bears the burden of her first message to deliver on behalf of the Dominar. It’s thrilling and emotional, and keeps you wanting more. These are still pretty short “books/novellas/etc.” whatever you want to call them, but if you get them as part of an omnibus in a deal I think they’d be worth it. The narrator is still a disappointment, but the book itself is unique and captivating.

Amel is trying to deliver her first message. With the threat of war the rules have changed a bit. We see some characters from the other books pop back up. Ok, this is just a a “quickie” review. Unfortunately, I’m in in a hospital and asked my husband to post this since I don’t have the time to do better - even though the book definitely deserves it.

Bottom line: five stars. This was one wonderfully fun novel and definitely recommended. It had just what I wanted and was well written and with a great plot and great cast of characters.

Amel is getting closer to delivering her very first message, but it's not a smooth delivery. The enemies are drawing ever closer and sometimes the lines between friend and foe are blurred. The series just keeps getting better. My only complaint is that they are too short...I just want more and more. lol Can't wait for the next one!!

Notes:

*She betrayed you and you forgive her just like that?
*It is only right to question and to take some time to decide whether to join or not. For chrissakes, you just wanted to be a Dragon Rider; and now you're in the middle of this whole prophecy thing.
*You're not even in control of where it takes you.
*ASK/DEMAND for information. You don't even know what you're in for.

Again Sarah Wilson delivered with the 7th book of the Dragon School series. Evil follows Amel, Raolcan and their companions. An evil that will not stop until it destroys the group. Another fast paced exciting book! A must read! How I love this series and can't wait for the next book!
