This book is a mentor that every corporate enthusiast aspires to have in his life at the right time.
The author elucidates with his real-life stories and parables the conception of Give to Get in the corporate environment. He enlightens about the notion of a culture within a culture, how to map your stakeholders, how to take your credit to the bank, how you could overcome the burnout.
“On a battlefield, you don’t stop wearing your armour just because it’s Friday. Please don’t come to work in anything but a suit.”

We read and review many books on business on our blogs. We also read and review books on genealogy and family history. Without even trying, Give to Get: A Senior Leader's Guide to Navigating Corporate Life by Vishal Agarwal brings the two together, in a roundabout way.

With family history and genealogy, most people want to know about the dashes in a family. You probably know that the dash is how people lived their lives between their birth and death dates, the how and why they lived their lives the way they did.

Give to Get talks about something Zig Ziglar talked about many times over the years: How you can get anything you want in life IF you just help enough other people get what they want.

This book is a quick read, but it takes on several issues that are important to anyone in the C-suite, as well as that new branch manager of the local company.

Without coming out and saying it, Agarwal reminds us that it isn’t the people at the top who run the company. Most of the time, it is the people on the front line who run the company. Tapping into their strengths and getting to know what makes them tick is the key to a successful company.

Give to Get is very well-written and easy to read. We give it all five stars. We think this will make an excellent addition to any leader’s library.

Succinct . Very valuable lessons about how to overcome culture-within-a-culture. Actions speak louder than words, indeed!
