Get the complete Cavernis Trilogy right here!
A School For Dragons: Mattie Sharpe—seventeen and bored in L.A. —is getting into trouble. She gets into even more when she's whisked to Cavernis, a world teeming with dragons. But these are dragons as you've never seen them: they are fussy gourmets; work as lawyers & CPA's; and attend their school ASH, where they take classes like TNS ("Tails, Nails & Scales").
Reuniting with her childhood friend, Mattie learns why she’s been brought there, and even heads ASH’s rowing team, Skull & Bones. She learns how to be a knight from the mysterious Eli, a small mute dragon…or is he?
A War For Dragons: Mattie Sharpe, L.A. teen and Dragon Knight, finds herself back in Cavernis with Artorius and the gang. Only problem: Sarug is back! Enlisting his "friends" from Hell, he wages a war that makes Attila the Hun look basic. Will Mattie and Eli finally get together? Or will the hunky naga Feizel pull them apart (before Sudha does)? Filled with humor, action, and dragons, Mattie's saga continues!
A Hero For Dragons: Mattie Sharp is back - along with her dragon pals! But what’s a girl to do when her best friend Artorius falls for a Chinese dragon, her fiance’ Eli is fighting a civil war, and gold goes missing from ASH, leading Mattie to suspect the (flat) Egyptian Ramses.
After being tried as a witch and spending the night with a Saint, Mattie gets to the heart of the mystery - and finds out it involves teeth! Will Sarug ever be foiled? Will Mattie and Eli get married? Find out in the last Cavernis Trilogy book, A Hero for Dragons.

What is Cavernis? It is a land of dragons. All kinds of dragons, from all over the world, from tiny to towering, adorable, stately, feisty, mean, greedy. At one time they or their ancestors lived on our world, and they still have close connections with it – for example, they love Hollywood movies, especially those with dragons. There are many other creatures too – brownies, giants, demons and... well, I'd better not give too much away.
When dragons abduct Californian teenager Mattie Sharpe, because of a prophecy that she will pay a vital part in an upcoming war, they decide to train her in the traditional knightly arts. Although that comes in useful, Mattie's real contribution is not fighting but breaking through their "it's never been done so it can't be done" attitudes.
The three books of the trilogy follow a similar pattern: In the first part, Mattie attends a "school for dragons" which is more like college, with lectures (in quite unusual subjects!), fraternities, drinking sessions and boat crews, and develops close friendships. Meanwhile, peace is threatened by greedy and power-hungry evildoers and eventually there is lots of fighting, dragons breathing fire and frost, swordplay, treachery, characters dying, dark magic, and victory against impossible odds.
In the future, these books will have to be heavily annotated, there are so many pop culture references! There are also references to various religious traditions, although the Christian figures most strongly, with heaven and hell, relics, saints and so on.
This is a young adult adventure and suitable for a younger age group, but very enjoyable for anyone who loves dragons. There are lots of splendid descriptions of treasure and food, and romantics will love the ending.

This book had a slow start but it paid off, the storyline and characters engaging. I was drawn into the story, and am excited to read book two, as I must see what happens next, and, of course, what happens to my ship. Definitely a worthwhile read. 4.5 stars.

Oh my God, this was amazing! A solid sequel to A School For Dragons, it had all the fun stuff - emotional turmoil (i.e. Eli and Mattie turmoil), a war on demons, etc. It was very fun and engaging. 5 stars.

An epic conclusion! Emotional drama, plot points I wasn’t expecting, and general hilarious moments! 5 stars.
Great read. Each book is well written, with a great plot and characters. I was engrossed from start to finish with each book. This book has elements of suspense and action. Mattie is part of a prophecy that involves dragons and she goes to a dragon school. There are a lot of different breeds of dragons. Overall a great trilogy! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Booksprout.
These books were a first from this author and it was a really great read though it was a little hard to get into but that could of been because I was reading four other books at the time. The storyline was good and so were the characters.
