Death and betrayal runs rampant through the Everstone clan.
Constance thinks her bond with Rayse is her largest worry, but there is dark magic lurking through her clan. A killer, armed with ancient powers and evil intents, has been forcing dragons to strangle their own wives.
Worst of all, the victims have been seeing Constance amongst the terrible events, raising suspicions in her clan.
Faced with an unknown entity, Rayse is afraid he and Constance might be the next victims on the murderer's list, and that he might be forced to kill his own mate.
SHADOWED LIES is the second full-length novel in the SOUL OF A DRAGON series. It can be read after OBSIDIAN WINGS but is recommended to be continued after reading the standalone novella, GOLDEN EMBRACE (Soul of a Dragon #1.5).
This series contains scenes of abuse, sexual content, and violence, which makes it unsuitable for the light-hearted.
My review will encompass all three books of this series. The storyline is interesting but seemed rushed. One second Constance is terrified the next she was crazed with lust. She kept having an internal debate that seemed to drag out, to the point I was getting annoyed with her. The best book of the series seemed to be the last. Everything the first two installments seemed to lack finally shined through in the third and final book. I have mixed feelings, obviously, about this series. You may not do buy the books and enjoy.
******************************************** The easiest way I can describe this is that someone chopped up a normal, orderly plot line and tossed all the bits into a blender, blended it, and that's the new plot line. ********************************************
Only joking I'm being dramatic, but it was really bad
Shall I read the third one? Mmm... hard choice, hard choice. Ha no
There are so many things we still have to learn about. I cried during this book, it's rough. I'm sure it's going to be well worth it when i read the last one!
