OMG!!! What a rollercoaster this book was. It is the first time I have been a blubbering fool with D. L. Gallie's books. She has surprised me with how much she has grown as an author. Amazing, that's what this book is. Totally amazing!. It has sass, spunk Fantastic storyline. More tears (happy) This is not your usual boy meets girl they fall in love type book. This book is so much more. Absolutely loved it and would be so proud to recommend this book to anyone. Well done D. L. Gallie.

Must Read!!

DL Gallie is a new to me author and I must say this book surpassed everything I thought it was going to be. We first meet Emerson when she’s happy and in love with her fiancé. When Emerson gets fired from her job Brian decides to get their families together to cheer her up. All is working until a madman open fires on them in an attempt to kill his wife. In the blink of an eye Emerson loses her entire family, including a baby she didn’t yet know she was having. Waking up alone the grief drowns her, if it wasn’t for her BF she would have drowned for sure. Weeks later, she takes off on an adventure leaving her BF and all the memories behind. Several months later she meets Chase and their attraction is instantaneous. She feels guilty for it and pushes him away, only for him to pull her in harder. When Emerson’s past catches up to her and she runs away, Chase must decide if she’s worth the chase, after all, she literally came out of nowhere..

Emerson suffered an unthinkable tragedy when in the blink of an eye she loses everyone she loves including a baby she did not know about, but her best friend is there to save her sanity. Going on an adventure Emerson takes off on her own, and eventually she meets Chase. There is an instant connection between these two, but Emerson feels guilty and tries to push Chase away, but he pulls her back, and when her past comes back to haunt her, Emerson takes off, but Chase refuses to let her go alone. This is a well written story which is an emotional roller coaster, which is raw and gritty, with loss, grief, second chances, guilt, heartbreak, healing, family, friendships, and love, which leads to an entertaining and addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

This is my first book by DL Gallie and I’m so happy I signed up for the arc. This book will break you, give you hope and make your heart happy at the end.

Emerson’s life is great until she experiences the worst tragedy imaginable. Her life spirals, she hits rock bottom and she knows she has to make a chance. Her adventure takes her on a self healing journey that leads her to the most unexpected place.

Chase is cocky, persistent and a good man. He has his own baggage but he’s moved on with his life. His determination to help Emerson is off the charts and how their relationship blooms is beautiful.

There are so many emotions experienced while reading this book. DL writing is fantastic and gives us such detail into the personalities and emotions for each character.

I highly recommend…but have your tissues ready.

*voluntarily and honestly reviewed the ARC I received from Lady Amber's PR*

2.5 stars.

Yeah, this really wasn't for me lol. I thought the blurb sounded sweet and interesting, but I personally couldn't get with it because (and please remember this is just me) the whole thing felt overtly dramatic, which ruined the flow of some of the actual touching moments. The idea of Emerson seemed sweet but I clicked more with Chase, which says a lot, considering some things I'd rather not say here. Overall, it was not for me, though I liked the idea, and was glad I was done. For this, I'd recommend looking at all the reviews to figure out if you'd like it.

Oh Dee Dee def knows how to have your emotions going all over the place.

Emerson her life was great she had the best fiance and her family was everything to her and in on spilt moment she lost everything.

Chase oh my he totally swooned me and gave me all sorts of fuzzy feelings in areas that go crazy haha.

Chase had been through a horrible time when younger that he held onto and the moment he and Emerson met the connectiom was strong and it drew them both together.

There was so much guilt on Emersons side that she struggled to get past it and chase had to fight hard to win her over.

One traumatic night will destroy all the plans that Emerson had for her future and she is struggling to pick up the pieces. She believes the only way she can heal is to distance herself from everyone and her memories which is how she finds herself in Nels Cove.

When Chase meets Emerson he is drawn to her in a way he never expected. The more she tries to distance herself from him the more persistent he becomes but is she prepared to let him into her life and her heart?

Chase has a difficult past but Emerson’s will break your heart. After all they have been through and continue to go through there are no people more deserving of happiness than this couple.

Every book I’ve read from DL Gallie has been amazing, but out of nowhere is my new favorite. It was definitely an emotional read and had me feeling so much but the journey Emerson had to go on led her to the sexy Chase in the middle of nowhere Colorado. I loved all of these characters and felt like I was a part of their little community the entire time. I’m for sure going to have a book hangover from this one!

When I first began reading this book, I wasn’t sure I was going to like the story. I had a hard time grasping the story in the very beginning. However, being one who always finishes a book from beginning to end, I pushed through. I was glad that I did because really in the end it was a good story. It was very emotionally challenging to follow Emerson on the rollercoaster of upheavals in her life, to cry with her and ache for her, hope for her to find her way back to herself.
The story begins on a high note as Emerson is celebrating just becoming engaged to her boyfriend Brian. But in a brutal twist of fate, her world is turned upside down. It begins with getting fired from her job and then hours later like a domino effect of horror, she loses everyone she loved in the blink of an eye, a senseless random crime from a domestic dispute gone awry steals the love of her life, her parents and brother and her fiancée’s parents. Emerson is ripped apart and lost in a maelstrom of despair and doesn’t know how to go on or which direction to escape from the upheaval of her life. So she runs.
Embarking on a journey around the world and back, Emerson is trying to outrun the demons of tragedy that has ripped her world apart. She rolls into a small town in Colorado called Nels Cove and feels a strange pull like this is where she needs to be right now so she digs her heels in for a little while. Enter Chase Archibald. He’s sin in a pair of jeans and cowboy boots, and he has set his sights on her. He’s the most irritating man she has ever met but she’s slowly falling for him and fighting the attraction like hell.
Chase and Emerson, an unlikely match between a country boy and a city girl; both have their own tragic pasts to endure. Chase wants to be her knight in shining armor in every sense of the metaphor. Emerson doesn’t think she can be saved, especially when her past catches up to her threatening her idyllic hideaway in Nels Cove. Read this story to find out how love can conquer all even when all seems hopeless. Chase and Emerson are proof of that you can find love again in the most unlikely places.

Emerson James is engaged to Brian Scott and is the happiest she has ever been when tragedy strikes 3 weeks later and her life is drastically altered. She pushes everyone away until she decides to travel the world and escape everything that is bringing her down.

Eventually Emerson ends up in Nels Cove in Colorado and there she meets Chase Archibald. Chase is an arrogant and self centered guy who grates on every one of Emerson's nerves but gradually the two form a friendship.

But is Emerson willing to deal with the past in order to move onto the future? Is she willing to come clean to Chase about everything she is running from?

This was an emotional read about dealing with the past and heartbreak and finding a way to get solace for the future.

My heart just broke for everything that Emerson went through at the beginning of the book. I understood how she pushed everyone away and felt lost with where her life was going. I loved that she decided to take a chance and take a trip around the world to get away from everything. I had no idea how much she was running from but I did know it was bigger than we thought.

I loved the peace that Emerson found when she arrived in Nels Cove and how everything just fell into place for her with her sense of peace.

Chase was awesome in that he had so much swagger but you knew he would be able to brought to his knees by a special woman. I loved how he treated Emerson when he was trying to convince her that he was the guy for her. There was much more to Chase than what I expected and I loved learning more and more about him as the book went on.

The guilt Emerson felt was immense on so many different levels! I waited for everything to come together for Emerson and I loved watching everything come into place.

There were twists and turns and I definitely was not expecting the ending! It had me worried but I the author made the ending awesome!

Definitely looking forward to more from this author!

I wanted to love this book, I really did but it really fell flat for me.

Emerson has been dealt a horrific hand in life. One that has her shutting down and running away from life. She end up finding herself in Nels Cove Colorado and on the radar of Chase.

Running his families business and being a self proclaimed manwhore is everything Chase wants out of life until he meets the sassy Emerson. She denies him at every turn which only intrigues him more. Now he has a new challenge to conquer.... Emerson James.

While this story had all of the makings to be great I had a hard time seeing all of the characters as anything other than teenagers. One thing that bugged me to the point of irrational outbursts was the wine drinking. Refined, wealthy individuals do not drink wine with "twist tops". The "Red" or "White" would be sealed with a cork and would the "bubbly" they drink. Twist tops are reserved for the 1.99 Boones Farm or something generic.

It's all in the details, and this story has details about details that really told me nothing. When all I needed was a little more character development and growth.

All in all, the storyline is good. With some more development and attention to the right details this book could be amazing.

Emerson's life was going perfectly. A fiance that cherished her. Family and friends. Then one day her life changed forever. In the wrong place at the wrong time Emerson and her family end up in the crossfire of an enraged husband. Emerson looses everyone that day. Only she survives the shooting.

Her grief engulfs her, cutting out all of her friends and pushing her best friend Bella away. When she revisits the crime scene she decides the only way to find herself is to go away for awhile. She embarks on a bucket list trip that she and Brian had talked about taking. After a lot of stops she is drawn to the little town of Nels Cove. Here she finds peace that she never thought she would feel again. Also some new friends and Chase Archibald.

As feeling start to develop for Chase ,Emerson's guilt returns. She doesn't know how she will ever be able to move on. Maybe Chase will be able to put Emerson's heart back together.

Ms Gallie had me crying more than once during this read by I couldn't put it down either. I had to know if there was going to be an HEA in the end.

The first few chapters in to this book, I had myself convinced I wasn’t going to like it. I am ever so thankful that I soldiered on as this book is simply wonderful.
Emerson has faced a tragedy that you pray never ever happens to anyone that you know. It was at this point that my feelings changed towards this book. I think the author did a magnificent job in handling this part and how realistic Emerson's emotions and reactions were portrayed. As time passed and Emerson was slowly finding herself again, it was Chase that was that missing piece to make her whole again. A different version maybe, but she wasn't "broken" anymore.
Chase is a man above all others. His life has had its own twists and turns, and until he met Emerson he was living his life with a singular focus. Then that wasn't enough for him anymore. Something was missing, and it wasn't until he met Emerson he realised that she and what a relationship with her could be was what was missing.
This book is heart wrenching and will more than likely make you cry, but after you read the words The End, you will have a smile on your face.

This book was so good! It pulls at the heartstrings so much! This book will destroy from the beginning but don't worry, it gets better and then you will laugh and swoon. Emerson is put the ringer in this book and comes out so much stronger then she ever thought she could be. She is a remarkable young woman, who overcomes the ultimate tragedy and survives. She is given a second chance at life. I loved Emerson so much but man did my heart break for her. She had everything and then it was taken away. I can't even imagine how I'd handle that. Anyway, when she gets on her adventure, she finds her home again and meets Chase. Chase has dealt with heartache as well. Bringing both of them together is a godsend. They are able to heal from the pain and move on in their lives. I so enjoyed Chase! Sure he was a bit of a womanizer but he knew how to treat a woman. Emerson is a lucky girl! This shows different sides of him and I loved it! I was sad when it ended cause I could have kept on reading about these two. This is such an amazing book! I loved every minute of it even the crying parts lol!

From the beginning to the end Out of Nowhere was an emotional story. The story opens up with a very sweet, loving scene and then bam all chaos breaks loose. A terrible tragedy leaves Emerson devastated and broken. Unable to cope with the constant reminders and the way people now treat her, Emerson decides to run. She follows a bucket list of sorts to different places. Her journey leads her to the lovely little town of Nels Cove, Colorado. The towns people welcome Emerson with open arms and an unexpected peace starts to settle into her heart. Then Chase walks in and starts a fire burning inside her. Whether it’s a good burn or a bad burn remains to be seen. There’s a lot more to Chase than she knows. The man who pushes her buttons and gets on her nerves just might be the one to help her heal.
I really enjoyed Emerson and Chase’s story. I loved the banter between the two. Their story had lots of heartbreak but it was also filled with love and hope. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

This book has so many feels and it is set around such a tragic but relevant premise. I will say it was unique and really grabbed my attention. I started and couldn’t put it down until I read the last page. This author has talent and I look forward to reading more from her. She has a fantastic imagination, sometimes I feel like I read the same story over and over again with just a bit of a different twist here and there. So this story idea was refreshing. I don’t do spoiler, but without giving anything away...

This story hits home with the gun violence in our society today. We sometimes forget that once these acts are finished there are those that have to survive the victims, and find a way to begin again. Dealing with the loss, survivors guilt, and trying to move on with life. This is a thoughtful and beautiful story about love and loss. It’s about learning to live again and still holding on to the wonderful memories of those lost.

This book was hard to read. Not because it was bad. This is a great book. It has so much emotion that just makes you have to take a breath. You are literally on the edge of your seat to see what is going to happen next. This book was so well written you could feel how Emerson and Chase were feeling. You could feel Emerson's pain. Her life is going great from what she thought and then it wasn't. I'm not lying it made me cry. In more than one spot but it also made me laugh and just shake my head. Chase is her savior. Growing up he has had ups and downs. It took him awhile to start to feel ok. Then more stuff would happen that your like. What the hell. You think Emerson and Chase can never catch a break. But they meet and they just makes sense. This is my first book I have read from this author and can't wait to read more. Yes this does have a HEA ending.

Out of Nowhere follows the tragic story of Emerson who looses her fiancé and entire family when a gunman shoots them in a freak incident in Central Park. Embarking on a trip so to far off places is Emerson’s way of coping and seeing all the places her and Brian her fiancé wanted to visit. On her way back to New York Emerson stops at Nels Cove, Colorado. Something about the small town feels right to Emerson and she feels safe. Then the town heart throb, Chase, sets his sights on her. Chase has slept with nearly every woman in town but is reaching the point where he wants to settle down. Cue Emerson, who doesn’t fall at his feet, gives him sass and his interest is piqued. The story follows love, loss and finding love again and the guilt that goes with that. An easy read and enjoyable.

What an emotional read had me crying from the beginning. Emerson has the life she wants till its all taken from her by one single act. She loses everything. She needs some time away and leaves to travel to help her heal. Chase is just living his life but one tragic event from his child left him reeling. When these two meet the sparks fly but Emerson is holding back cause of her old love. Will she be able to open her heart back up for a new love and life. Will Chase be able to show what they can be together? Truly an amazing read. With heartbreak and love. Its a emotional ride with all the feels and everything in between.

That one day takes everything from her and she runs! She travels until her travels lands her in a small country town called Nels Cove. Where she meets a hot man named Chase Archibald. He’s a bit of a womanizer and happier to have a love them leave them attitude, but when he see Emerson everything changes in that one day. He wants to get to know her and be there for her. This story will make you cry, laugh and swoon. These are two characters who have overcome some seriously tough cards that life has dealt them. DL Gallie does a great job of showing the raw reality of dealing with loss, while also weaving a sweet and entertaining love story. There’s a bit of a play on enemies to lovers, which quickly morphs into a very unique storyline. This is a fast read. If you need a quick fix of an adorable couple persevering through tragedy to find salvation in one another, then this is the perfect read for you!

This was the first book I've read from this Author. I cannot begin to say how well she nailed the "feels" in this book. I was drawn in by intense heartbreaking tragedy that could destroy just about anyone. Emerson's journey back to herself was long and hard, yet beautifully written. Chase had his own demons and tragedy that he had to grow from. I enjoyed the banter between these two, they were perfect smile maker moments. I loved how the town of Nels Cove just welcomed Emerson and gave her the peace she needed. This was a hard one to put down...
