Seeing far: Selected poems
These are new poems that make sense--they'll make you feel good. Read them for your private delight, and read them aloud to share with others.
Mostly I write free verse with delicately chosen words, and some haiku in traditional 5-7-5 format. This is my second collection--47 selections including nature poems, love poems, poems about grandchildren, and other down-to-earth themes--all written in a way that makes it possible for you to know, as precisely as possible, what's going on in my mind and in my imagination. These are luscious examples of my love affair with words.
Some brief
Walk this way ...I am another life in this calmliving forest.
I do not take root, I am not acaretaker, I do not give or take life,
I do not die and rise again inthe turn of seasons.
I am a walker, a watcher, asinger of forest songs.
Love, quote unquote
when we said "ever"
we meant "ever and ever,"
that's what love is "for"
One dog's world
...This fence is his faux frontier,
more harsh because so near,
a lure with no reward,
a circle with no end, no beginning,
no escape...
He learned too soon to dream of getting through...
By design, these poems have clarity and personality. There are no hidden meanings. I try to write everything in my mind, and everything in my heart, with words that plainly express everything I want to share with you.Most of my poems are free verse, with careful use of rhythm to enhance the impact of reading them aloud. Occasionally I use rhyme when it feels natural.
