ဘဝတွေကို အရှိအတိုင်း သရုပ်ဖော်ထားတယ်ပဲ မြင်တယ်။ သူ့ကံတရားအရ အထက်တန်းလွှာဝင်ဆံ့စရာ အကြောင်းမရှိခဲ့တဲ့ ဒေါက်တာဂျော်ရဲ့ မိုးကြိုးပစ် ထန်းလက်ကာ လောကဓံမှာ သာယာနေပုံကို သရုပ်ဖော်ထားတယ်လို့ မြင်တယ်။ မြနန္ဒာ မှာက အနုပညာကို ထွက်ပေါက် လို့ သတ်မှတ်ထားရာကနေ အနုပညာရှင်တွေရဲ့ အိပ်မက် ဖြစ်လာတော့တာပါပဲ။

I've only read three books from her and this might be my favourite one so far. She can write unlikeable characters in likable ways. Her characters are neither bad nor good, but are in the gray area. I don't love her characters but I find them very interesting. And I like the writing style in this particular book a lot.

မြနန္ဒာမိဘတွေက မြနန္ဒာလို့နာမည်လှလှလေးပေးပြီး အရုပ်ကလေးလိုလှလှလေး ထားချင်ရှာခဲ့ပုံရတယ်။ မွေးကတည်းက စီမံကိန်းတွေတလှေကြီးနဲ့ကြီးပြင်းခဲ့ရတဲ့ မြနန္ဒာက အတောင်ချိုးခံထားရတဲ့ ငှက်ကလေးလိုပဲ။ လင်းထင် (မောင်) နဲ့တွေ့တုန်းကလည်း သူ့မှာ မောင်နှမမရှိလို့ အစပိုင်းမှာ ရိုးရိုးခင်ခဲ့ပုံရပါတယ်။ သူ့ပတ်ဝန်းကျင်မှာ တွေ့နေကျယောက်ျားတွေနဲ့ မတူလို့ နောက်ပိုင်းမှ စိတ်ယိုင်သွားတာထင်တာပဲ။ သာဦးကျော် (ကိုကို) ကတော့ မြနန္ဒာအတွက် တသက်လုံး ဖြည်းဖြည်းချင်း သောက်သွားရမဲ့ အဆိပ်လိုပဲ။ မြနန္ဒာရဲ့မိဘတွေ ကိုယ်တိုင် ဖော်ခဲ့တဲ့အဆိပ်ပဲ။ မြနန္ဒာရဲ့ သား၊ သမီးတွေ အရွယ်ရောက်လာလို့ သူ့အမေကို ‘ဒီနွံထဲက တူတူရုန်းထွက်ရအောင်ပါ မာမီရယ်’ ဆိုပြီး ရုန်းထွက်သွားနိုင်ကြရင် ကောင်းမယ်လို့ တွေးမိတယ်။

လင်းထင် (မောင်) ကို ဒေါက်တာခင်အေးရီနဲ့ယူသွားတယ်ဆိုတာကို မေ့မေ့နေတယ်။ ဒီတခေါက်ပြန်ဖတ်တော့မှ သတိရသွားတယ်။ မောင်ကတော့ အရမ်း dreamy ဖြစ်တဲ့လူလို့ ခံစားရတယ်။ သူ့မှာ မြနန္ဒာရဲ့အငွေ့ရှူရရင်ကို ကျေနပ်နေတာ။ ဒေါက်တာခင်အေးရီလို လက်တွေ့ဆန်တဲ့မိန်းမနဲ့ရလို့ မဟုတ်ရင် ထမင်းငတ်မဲ့ သဘောရှိတယ်။

ဒီထဲမှာ အမုန်းဆုံးက သာဦးကျော် (ကိုကို) ပဲ။ ဘယ်နှခေါက်ဖတ်ဖတ် ကိုကို့ကိုယ် မုန်းတယ်။ Narcissist ဖြစ်ပြီး မြနန္ဒာအပေါ်ကိုတော့ possessive အရမ်းဖြစ်တဲ့ တဏှာရူးကောင်။ သူ့လိုသာတွေးရင် ဒေါက်တာခင်အေးရီလည်း ဖောက်ပြန်လိုက်မဲ့ ဖြစ်ခြင်း။ သူ့ကို မြနန္ဒာအိမ်က ငယ်ငယ်ကတည်းက မြေတောင်မြှောက်ပေးခဲ့တာကိုမှ အားမနာ။ သူ့တကိုယ်လုံး ဆင်ခြေအပြည့်နဲ့။ မြနန္ဒာက သူ့ကိူ တကယ်ချစ်ခဲ့ဖူးပါတယ်။ သူကတဏှာရူးပြီး တံတားအောက်က ဖြတ်သမျှရေ ခပ်သောက်နေမှတော့ မြနန္ဒာက ဘယ်သည်းခံနိုင်မလဲ။ ပြီးတော့ မြနန္ဒာကို ကိုယ်ထိလက်ရောက် ရိုက်တာပဲ။

ဒီစာအုပ်က ကိုယ့်အပေါ်အတော်စိုးမိုးခဲ့တာ။ ပါရီသွားတော့လည်း မြနန္ဒာဖြတ်ပြေးခဲ့တာ ဒီလမ်းလားမသိဘူး ဆိုပြီး စိတ်ကူးနဲ့တွေးကြည့်ဖူးတယ်။ ငယ်ငယ်ကတော့ မောင့်လို ယောက်ျားမျိုး လိုချင်ခဲ့မိသေးတယ်။ 😂

“ကြည့်ပါဦး။ အခန်းထဲဝင်လာပုံက ရော်ရွက်တွေကြွေလာသလိုပဲ။ မင်းသမီးဟန်ကလေးနဲ့ လေမှာလွင့်လာသလိုပဲ။ အောက်က သည်လောက်မြင့်တဲ့ ခုံမြင့်ဖိနပ်စီးပြီး သည်လောက်ပေါ့ပေါ့ပါးပါးဝင်လာတာက အံ့ဩဖို့တော့ကောင်းတယ်။ ခုခေတ်ကြီးမှာတောင် ရှားနဲလ်ရေမွှေးကို လှိုင်လှိုင်ဆွတ်တုန်းပဲ။ သူ့လင်က နိုင်ငံခြားခဏခဏသွားရတာကိုး။ ဒါပေမဲ့ သူ့လင်က မြနန္ဒာကို အရုပ်ကလေးလိုပြင်ပြီး ဧည့်ခန်းမှာ အလှထားတာပဲ။ ဘာမက်စရာတုန်း။”

Beautiful! I like the way she use the same scene and described it from the different characters' perspective. So that it gave me the idea of the characters. I blamed Ko Ko. However, after reading Ko Ko's perspective, it helped me realize the complexity of human nature. I was seventeen when I read it. My view for the world was so clear. It was so black and white. However, reading a book like this woke me up and told me that it is not that simple at all. I liked this book for many reasons. Among them, her success in describing the characters in depth and width in a very beautiful language is the main reason.

Love how the author let us feel all the rage and pity but also puts a soft spot for every character so you JUST CANT HATE THEM (trust me I tried)

It's about a love affair/marriage from the points of view of 3 different people. All 3 didn't want change their status quo, and played along with the situation - yet they feel bitter about it. Overall, I found the plot to be quite predicable and disappointed at the story. That said, I enjoyed the poems in the book.
