Hybrid Misfit by Eve Langlais
Combination demon and angel, vampire and succubus, Megan continues to avoid the vampires that are searching for her. Even though they were made by the same government experiment, they want more from Megan than she is willing to give. Like her freedom.

Simon and Gene to the rescue. Megan has the kick butt attitude and experience that she doesn’t really need the rescue but who can resist this duo that just wants to protect her.

Kind of erotica but the sex doesn’t happen until three quarters of the way through. A romance with erotic elements is probably a better description. A threesome for sure that is explicit.

An enjoyable romp for the Misfit.
First in this series. I’m looking forward to finding out more about her misfit friends.

Excerpt:
“Gene turned to me with a wide smile. “Ignore him. Simon, for all his age, doesn’t date much and has little experience wooing a woman.”
“In my day, we didn’t woo, we took.” The big man crossed his arms over his chest.
“Welcome to the modern age where women get to choose”, was my tart reply. It hid the warmth that his direct words ignited. “Now, while this has been most interesting, I do have to leave. However, I’d like to meet with you guys again.”
After matching sensual smile’s, my tummy did a flip. “Get your mind out of the gutter. I want to meet for information.”
“But the gutter is so much fun.”
“I prefer a bed,” Simon injected.
“If you’d rather not answer my questions...” I replied.
Gene’s grin widened. “Anything you want to know, feel free to ask or, even better, touch.”
As come on lines went his was laughably crude, but it worked. My hand almost reached for him. Bad hand.”

Hybrid Misfit is another smart and feisty female lead read from Eve. I very much enjoyed reading this book, but how could I resist a strong heroine misfit pairing up with a fireball throwing genie and a oh darn, I can’t share with you what Simon is. Nope you’ll have to read to find out. I will tell you he can freeze things and he is freaking huge all the way around (get it LOL!!). This is an m/f/m read with some anal play and intercourse, but I will say, you get more storyline with this erotic novella read then most and it gets emotional at the end. I recommend this to anyone that likes their female leads smart and kick butt, but also knows when to let a man or in this case men take care of her needs well, this is just for you and oh my, these two hero’s knows just how to do that. Now, I need to convince Eve to write books for Megan’s misfit friends.

Teaser
Hunger gnawed at me sudden like, and my mouth watered, but not for the bacon I smelt drifting through the open bedroom door. Looking him up and down, my eyes lingered on the distinct bulge in his pants. I licked my lips as I realized I could go for some sausage. Injuries always wakened my hungers. Smiling at him, I turned on the juice to prep him for my idea of a morning pick me upper.
“Bad succubus,” he chided. “Is that any way to thank your host?”
My jaw dropped as he outed me. Before I could ask him how he knew—and resisted me!—he walked away….

For whatever reason, I'm not a big fan of the whole "captured and experimented on/government funded project gone wrong" thing. There are some books that have it that I like, but generally, I try to steer clear. However, I love Eve Langlais and I love her F.U.C. series, which also has a mad scientist experimenting on captured shifters angle. But for whatever reason, this one didn't do it for me. It wasn't bad. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy it, and it was a bit goofy and silly like I've come to expect. But it was…missing…something. I'm just not sure what. I didn't love Beth, Simon, or Gene. They all seemed…flat maybe. I can't put my finger on it, all I know is this one was not a favorite. Regardless, I'll get around to the next one eventually. Like I said I love me some Langlais.

Entertaining succubus/demon stripper who falls for a djinn and a dragon. 🐉

The fun sex terminology used:
Honey pot, chanel, 🐱, prick, shaft, rod, c*ck, cleft, puckered ring, nub, pink slit, silken slit, slick folds, cl!t, rosette 🌹

* There might have been more, but I only started keeping track halfway through ⭐️

(pretty sure a list was made and checked off to make sure they were all used) 😂😂📝✔️

The honey pot 🍯 one got me good though. Lol💀😆👀

Beth lost her humanity to a bunch of "Mad Scientists" that subjected her to experiments giving her a mixture of Succubus, Vamp and Angel DNA. After her escape she's now hunted by her vampire "brothers" for her tasty blood as well as Angels and Demons who think she's the key to a prophecy that will one day bring down the walls between Heaven and Hell.

One night she runs into Simon, a sexy enigma that saves her from a band of vamps out to kidnap her. Once she wakes up in his apartment she also meets his hot roommate Gene...a real life Genie! The two best friends are determined to protect her at all costs and claim her as their woman.

I absolutely loved this story! It was funny and sexy and I enjoyed every minute of it! I thought Simon, Gene and Beth made an awesome Triad! Simon was more on the laid back side while Gene never held anything back! I loved Beth's character as well...she's always down for whatever!

All my soul searching and disturbing conclusions still led back to one key point. I was given a second chance at life, and mutant hybrid or not, possible means to the end of the world or not, I’d live life to the fullest and worry about the consequences later. And that motto meant grabbing the boys by their horns—with a firm grasp—and taking what they offered—naked and enthusiastically.

Tehee...I love it! I always enjoy an Eve Langlais story!! Her heroines are always so witty and funny its awesome!!

This is a great book. This is the 4th book I have read from Eve and I always love how her female leading roles are. They just have this spunk about them, they say whatever is on their mind they are sarcastic can kick some ass and I just love that.

I loved all the different paranormal beings in this book. Some seem silly when you hear them but they truly bring something to this story. Like when you hear about a genie we all think of Aladdin but let me assure you this is so not the case. I loved his powers and what he could do. A were bunny, she was a misfit also and a great friend. You get so many characters in this book and they are great.

As I said I loved Beth. A succubus/vampire made in a lab pretty much. She has her 2 friends and not much else. You really did feel for her. Then comes in 2 drool worthy males and they are not affected by her succubus side. They truly like her for her. Both men bring something to the table. Like Simon seems more the protector and serious and Gene seems more of the playful type and fun. And guess what?? One doesn't get left behind or heart broken, they share!! And they were very amazing at sharing, their moms would be proud.lol

I loved it. It was a great book with a lot of supernatural creatures, love, romance, 3 somes, and lots of action!!

1.75⭐️I hated the MMCs in this book. This had so much potential to be fun and sexy but we DROPPED THE FUCKING BALL!
Pros:
✅The idea of a succubs/vampire hybrid
✅A book with a Djinn as a MC
✅It had some pretty funny quippy shit
✅Displayed sex workers and dancers in a way that wasn’t dehumanizing.

Cons:
❎Simon SUCKS. He openly admits that “back in his day” he used to “take” women and not give them a choice. We’re supposed to like you??? And he is cocky and unlikable.
❎The Djinn’s only personality trait is “horny”. Thats it.
❎This book had some less than hilarious try-too-hard moments that made me cringe.
❎There is ZERO motivation for them to risk their lives and the lives of EVERYONE IN THE KNOWN WORLD trying to save this one bxtch and they never questioned whether they should get involved or not
❎The magic system makes no sense. Nephilim: offspring of a human/angel or in this case demon/angel. But 1) She ain’t an offspring 2) she was given angel blood and somehow became….. a succubus. A demon. And was given demon blood and became…. A vampire. And given her powers were barely utilized in this book they could have given her half succubus half healer or half vampire half voice of god for all I care.

Overall: I was so close to DNF-ing this that I was basically dryhumping it. My goodness. This was not the fun book I expected it to be and I have a feeling the entire series is gonna bite so I’m gonna skip this whole series and maybe try another of her book series.

What a HEA she got! WOW!

Love this story - as with all of Eve's books - I'm not disappointed :)

The story starts off a little confusing when we're trying to learn what happened to Beth. When she was a child, she was brought to a government testing faculty.. but it was their humanity that was being tested on. They were shot up with the DNA of demons, angels, and other types of strange creatures. most of the people died in these experiments, some of them changed, and those that changed wished for death.

Until the Vampires got tired of the tests and being told what to do and attacked the scientists. Beth ran as soon as she could get away from the compound, and she didn't look back.

Beth Ran and ran and ran some more, until she realized she needed a home, and a job in order to survive. There was one thing she was good at, and it helped her succubus side. She became a stripper of course :)

And because she was so good at it, she was able to get a job in the high class club. She met 2 others like herself, one was a warebunny, and the other was a siren. Only these two were different, just like she was. And they became friends fast.

One night while Beth (aka Trixie is her stage name) she was on stage dancing, eating up the sexual energy that the males produced as they watched her, she noticed a couple of vampires walk in. Not just any vampires, these were her brothers. The ones from the government faculty. The half vampires, half humans. One would think they would be closer and friendly towards each other, but after the time they tied her up and raped her and drank from her, she knew seeing them now was a bad idea.

After her set, she snuck out the back door, only to be jumped by the vampires. And they brought friends. Fighting was like a second nature to Beth, and she was able to hold her own. but the Vampires faught dirty, and shot her with a tranquilizer, just as Beth was going down, she looked up and saw green eyes glowing at her. attached to those eyes was a very large body, and that body was fighting the vampires.

When she woke up in a really nice WHITE Fluffy bed, she knew she wasn't in Kansas anymore -

She saw a behemoth, a handsome one, but still a freakin beast of a man. - Time to meat Simon - Ahh Simon! I won’t give away what he is, because they don't tell you until somewhere in the middle of the book. the fun part is trying to figure it out with Beth :) But he is a huge man, and a beautiful man with white hair tinged with the blue of an iceberg. and he was HOT!
Beth wasn't sure if she could trust this man, but he knew what she was, right away, and that scared her. Not only did he know WHAT she was, but her Succubus appeal didn't work on him!

As they ate their food quietly observing each other, Beth noticed an intruder behind him. She jumped back and threw a warning at him. But he just stood there.
"I smell something yummy," said a new masculine voice from right behind her ear. She would have shrieked, but the newcomer spun and plastered his big lips to hers... and to her surprised, she enjoyed it :)

And that's how we meet Gene - Gene is a Genie - and yes, he has his own bottle :)

Simon and Gene are two different guys, but their best friends and stronger than anything. They have done just about everything together... except each other - but they've done a lot of tag teaming the ladies. But they both knew that Beth would be the only one they will want from now on..

The bond/mating/connection between these three isn't quiet like the rest of Eve's books - there are not mating bonds that tie them together, they just know fate says they are to be together. and none of them are willing to fight that.

Beth is a very STRONG young woman. at age 21, she has lived a very HARD life. and she doesn't put up with a lot of crap. She's also a Sucubus and she's use to guys drooling over her, but the way Gene advances at her is completely different then the guys under her spell. And she likes it.

Simon is a very mellow guy. He's huge, and strong and very patient.

When word gets out that there is a nephilim out there with demon and angel blood, everyone wants to kill her. And that just wasn't going to happen on Simon and Gene's watch.

I really enjoyed this book - the humor Beth had was funny and the innuendo from Gene were even better :)

I hope Eve has more books with Simon in them, or the likes of him. I would love to see him in battle form again :)

Beth ( Trixie the Stripper at the start of the story) is a hybrid between a devil and an angel and has been struggling to find her place in the world ever since she escaped the laboratory were she was created. She has been running and hiding from her deranged 'brothers', but with the help of Gene ( the Djinn) and Simon ( a certain epic mythological beast) she will fight for her place.

Pro's:
+ A very strong M/F/M romance story. The first sexy scene happens half way through the story so it is not just about the sex.
+ Beth is a bad bitch and you will love her for it. Nobody can tell her what to do and the only people she doesn't mouth off to are het 2 BBF's Lana and Claire.
+ The backstory of Beth is very touching and even though she has gone through she always manages to come out on top ( pun intended).

Con's:
- Very early in the story the author references to Beths past quite often without explaining it there ( the explanation comes a few chapters after that) and it becomes a bit annoying after a while.

Even though I never read a M/F/M romance before in fear it might become awkward, this was not the cae at all. A poweful but cute romance story with an epic underlaying story about the walls between good and evil and finding youself in places were you least expect it.

Any story that has a werebunny as one of the characters is sure to stir my interest, and this book has so much more. The plot is full of action and great love scenes and the main characters are very appealing. The author has created a truly unique world for these characters, and her take on the forces of good and evil is like nothing I have ever come across. It is good to see the misfits of the world come out on top for a change.

5 stars overall, 5 stars story, 5 stars narration
Awesome, wacky, super steamy MFM PNR

If I had to review this audiobook based on the first 20 minutes, I would give it 3 stars. However, I am so glad that I continued listening, because it quickly changed into awesomeness! The narrator did a perfect job, and it was amazing how well she did the sexy male voices! The audiobook is wacky and rather funny like most Eve Langlais books are. FYI, this audiobook is for mature audiences only.

Most of the book is told from the first person perspective of Beth, a woman who is half succubus. (There is more to the story of Beth’s origin, but I don’t want to give any spoilers.) Of course, being a stripper is the only career in which a succubus can consistently feed herself psychically with other people’s lust. In the first couple of chapters, it really bothered me how Beth thought that all men were only good to feed from or to use for money. Thankfully, she soon changes her attitude after she meets two nice, respectful, paranormal men who quickly realize that Beth is special to them. They are best friends who like to share a lady in the bedroom. The guys are a little bit alpha but not too much. Although the audiobook is super steamy, it is also quite romantic. I love how they took a while to get to know each other before making love. During the middle of the book, I really started to like Beth and her guys very much. FYI, the trio is mutually exclusive starting the day the guys meet Beth.

While there is great romance, the cool paranormal plotline totally rocks! Secrets gradually get unearthed while Beth is in danger from paranormal forces. There are some exciting action scenes, and the plot took some unexpected twists. I think that fans of Eve Langlais, especially of there Hell and shifter series, will love this audiobook. I can’t wait for book #2, “Siren Misfit”, about Beth's siren friend! In addition, the narrator did an expert job. Though she is female, she is really talented at sounding like hot guys! I will search for other romance books that she has narrated.

I received a free advanced reading copy from the author, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

Beth, our titular hybrid misfit was a terminal leukaemia patient who was injected with the DNA of both an angel and a demon by a bunch of crazy scientists. Demon DNA creates vampires, Angel DNA creates succubi & incubi - Beth is a hybrid: part human, part succubus, part vampire all Nephilim (but made rather than born) - Although she doesn't know it, she is the prophesied messiah foretold to bring down the divide between heaven and hell which is why over the centuries heaven tried to wipe out all nephilim.

Beth is a stripper on the run from the rest of the other experiments who crave her body and her blood. She has finally settled down with two room mates (a were-bunny and a dysfunctional siren) when she's attacked by vampires. Hunky were-ice dragon Simon and his genie best friend Gene rescue her, set themselves up as her champions and lovers.

I love the set up - this ticks so many boxes for me: hybrids, nephilim, were-dragons, paranormal world, genetic experiments, war between heaven and hell.

What this lacks is plot and emotion. The sex scenes may be pretty explicit and hot but there is no emotion whatsoever. The romance is terrible! There's no rivalry between Simon & Gene nor any romance between them - they are just best mates who share everything - there's no exploration into their character, emotion or personality or how they deal with both wanting Beth. Her emotional reaction is just as shallow she just accepts that she loves two men - never questions anything.

This is the ultimate wish fulfilment novel - as a paranormal romance its awful, but as sexy urban fantasy not so bad - I do really like the universe in which this is set.

Will appeal to fans of things like Lost Girl.

I wasn't prepared for the intensity of this book. The blurb really intrigued me, a couple hotties, some experiments going awry, being on the run while trying to just survive. I loved the relationship between Simon, Gene, and Beth. Simon’s classification took me by surprise, it was awesome reveal. I knew he had to be something spectacular, but was not guessing that. Beth’s friends/roommates are awesome. I hope they get their own books. This book has a sort of New Species(Laurann Dohner) and accidentally paranormal (Dakota Cassidy) feel to it. So if your like me and love those, this will be right up your alley. Near the end I was biting my nails almost in tears over what had happened to Beth, then I had to tell myself, that Eve Langlais is an awesome, kind writer who would fix it. And boy did she. I was very pleased at the ending. The narration is awesome. Marie Smith killed it in Dating Cupid, so I knew she was going to tear this one up too. I was not disappointed. She is such a great reader. The flow was smooth as butter.

Being experimented and on the run from some sketchy individuals is only the tip of the iceberg for Beth. You know, there's also the two hunky supernatural dudes hanging around. And the way she wants to go spelunking in their pants. Individually or together. Two for the price of one is seriously hard to pass up for a lady with appetites like she has.

Then there's the whole 'everyone wants to kill her' thing. Well, wait. Not everyone. Some of them are firmly behind letting the thing she's prophesied to do happen.

But let's get back to her two dudes. Simon and Gene. Hunky and hunky. Did I mention that have a whole lot of firepower behind them? Because they do. A WHOLE LOT. Enough to keep her safe-ish when peeps come gunning for her. (Safe-ish because the lady has moves and she's not afraid to use them when bad guys are after her.)

Prophecy. Shenanigans of a sexy nature. A little fighting. GOOD TIMES.

On paper, I should have loved this. Paranormal, badass and capable female lead, respecting male leads, no shaming in any way.

In reality, I missed the plot that only made a real appearance near the end. I felt like half the book is her and them sexually obsessing over each other. Her a lot more than them due to her succubus side.
I actually enjoyed the parts, when the male leads interact with each other, more, because reading about how turned on Beth is all the time is really not that thrilling. But again, Succubus, Love Demon, should have could have expected that.

Essentially, this book is a case of insta-lust turning into nearly-instant-love (there is the whole mated-one thingy) and then some plot is thrown in. I liked the plot a lot actually and wished there had been more of that. And less lusting, please.

Would I recommend it? Depends. If you like lusting, yes. Otherwise, no. It's a fast paced enjoyable read otherwise.

I thought I read this book before, as this is an old one of Eve Langlais. But since the series has finally continued, I decided to read it again. And hmm, either I didn’t read it before or I don’t remember it anymore.

Anyway, we have Beth, a hybrid, experimented on and created into something unique, who along with other people in the facility, escaped it.

So now she’s a stripper when some bad people turn up, who want her and/or her blood. She meets Simon (dragon) and Gene (djinn) both of whom gets her blood pumping. But the road to HEA is never smooth....

I like Beth. She’s strong and plucky and independent. It’s just confusing on who is the real bad guy/threat in this book. Is it the ex-brothers or the horde/legion? I mean why two? You only need one, one major one. Huh. So that lost a star for me.

But I like it! Except for that. I do!

On to the next book!!

We read this book for episode 53 of our podcast. Life has not been easy for Trixie/Beth; but as the only Hybrid Misfit in the world things are about to get interesting. When Simon saves Beth from a horde of vampires he not only offers her new friendship, he forces her to challenge many of the things she thought she knew. The sexy duo of Gene, a Genie, and Simon, an Ice Dragon, slowly break down Beth’s walls and help her see how wonderful love can be when shared. As usual, we love Eve’s book and all the quirky characters she creates. This book is full of fun, hot, dirty sex and we couldn’t get enough. We discuss threesomes and what we would wish for if we had a genie. Join us for episode 53 of Shhh We’re Reading Dirty Books found on any podcast platform!

I really enjoyed this book. I was surprised I didn't need more information on her past and what happened. The snips given were enough to link to her life now and what is going on.
The heroine is a badass who has survived and will keep on surviving. Seeing all that happened to her, it's hard to believe she made it so far. But she and her friends push on and deal as best they can with the lot live gave them.
The world building was a little confusing. Then again, our heroine knows little of the world she is drawn into. So it's a learning curve for us all.
The two men she meets, well instant heat! The character building on all three had me fully invested in their happy ever afters.
The smut is high and steamy enough to fog my eyeballs!!!

A Succubus, a D'Jinn and a dragon meet in a bar...Okay, so it's the alley behind the bar, but still starts a fun story! Beth is more than just a Succubus though, and hiding in plain sight has been working for her for a while. Until her brothers come looking for her and are forced to deal with her new friends. I love the speed of this story, and the way the action moves from one exciting thing to the next, and never loses my interest! Beth and her roommates are a small band of misfit sisters, and their relationships are just as special as the one between Beth and her men. The action scenes in this story are epic-level good, I read the story and just recently bought the audio version of the trilogy and that made it just that much better!

The result of a science experiment Beth is a Vampire/Succubus hybrid. After she’s found by her fellow science experiments, and not for a family reunion, Beth meets two of the most handsome men she’s ever had the pleasure of knowing. But it’s not all happy bedtimes.

A mfm ménage packed with action and of course the occasional sex scene. This book was another amazing addition to my ever growing Eve Langlais obsession. I giggled, I swooned and I overall walked away from this book with a smile on my face and a few tears drying on my cheeks.

I loved the plot for this book! Beth's origin story is heartbreaking but fascinating, and really shapes her unique character. I loved the little thoughts she had about her parents throughout the book, it was a nice touch. Gene and Simon were great characters with lots of humour and support for Beth, while not losing their own personalities. My only gripe with the book is that the battles felt a little too quick. But they were still super exciting so it's a really minor gripe. Now I'm excited to read about Lana next!

Beth is a hybrid misfit. She was experimented on when she was young and has the blood of both angels and demons in her body. Born human, she is now a hybrid of the embodiments of good & evil.

As an adult she works at a strip club & this helps to feed her succubus side. She only has her two best friends until the night that she is cornered outside by vampires & meets Simon. Once he rescues her she meets his friend, Jinn, the next morning. What's going on?

I really enjoyed the audio book for this, the narrator was really easy to listen to.

Beth was badly abused by government scientists. She was experimented on and now she has more than one side. All she is trying to do is live safely with her two roommates. Then she is saved from vampires by an ice dragon shifter and a djinn. That's where the story really gets interesting. Beth may be the one who the prophecy about Heaven and Hell is about. Now she has two men on her side and maybe she's found love at the same time. This story has lots of action and very steamy romance with a happy ending.
