The price of normalcy
Hoping to cure his curse and return to his fiancée, Jason Wolfe agrees to command a corporate monster-hunting unit. But the team isn’t exactly what he had in mind…
A priest, a ninja, a zombie, and a guy who looks like he should be working crew on the carny circuit. To be fair, not all of Jason’s new charges are keen on being trained by a werewolf.
But ready or not, the team has just been called to a job. Something is snatching children from a small town in southern Mexico. Worse, all signs point to vampires — and a darker, more malevolent force.
As evil grips the vulnerable town, Jason’s ability to lead and his Blue Wolf’s instincts to protect will be challenged like never before, especially as trouble looms back home.
Can he rally his misfit crew before the evil claims them?
Brad Magnarella writes urban fantasy for the same reason most read it – to explore worlds where magic crackles from fingertips, vampires and shifters walk city streets, cats talk (some excessively), and good prevails against all odds. It’s shamelessly fun.
His three main series, Prof Croft, Blue Wolf, and Maddy Deeds, make up the growing Croftverse, with nearly a half-million books sold to date and an Independent Audiobook Award nomination.
Hopelessly nomadic, Brad can be found in a rented room overseas or hiking America's backcountry.

The characters are developing or have already developed into “people “ you care about.... that’s good writing . Once I am invested and can put myself there into the moment I’m hooked The blue wolf is Jason and once he has control of the wolf for the most part the wolf makes him a bigger faster more effective soldier. Even thou he feels like he was given this oddball crew to mold into legion - him the soldier . Sarah dr. Stiff from the beginning, the ninja that hates him? (Or all Americans )the dreadlocked “Priest “ the electronic guy Rusty they start off all wrong and last but not least the un dead Olaf who along with bane was the cause of him becoming the blue wolf after a number of ups and downs legion becomes a functioning successful unit but like Jason they all have a past that brought them one way or another to become legion can’t wait till the next blue wolf book I’m on my way to get the prof Croft book!
The team of misfits who COULD shoot straight. Jason Wolfe is back and he is still under the curse that makes him a seven foot tall four hundred pound blue wolf, but now he's working for the mercs. Before he can even get his motley crew fully briefed and trained, they are rushed to a small village in Mexico to find and neutralize the monsters that are stealing children. Lots of twists and suspense, interpersonal "adjustments", lots of weaponry, conflict with the suits back at HQ, and even a consultation with mage Prof Croft. Great characters, horrible enemies, and some really intense suspense and action make this one classic Magnarella! Not a series to be missed!
Another hit! Loved the first book, loved this second book, and I am betting I will love any future book about the blue wolf. The characters are unique, very unique but they work. I felt as if I was in this story at times and, to me, that makes it a very well written book. With both frightening times and humorous times throughout, I was intrigued from the start. I would suggest you read the books in order so that you will get the back stories of the blue wolf. Now, I am off to read the next book in the series and I am looking forward to it.
a fund military action book with a werewolf and other fun characters
definitely a very fun read. blue shadow takes a lot ofwhat was mediocre of the first bookand brings it into a fun militaryI adventure i've trying to save a town from destruction. I also felt likethe characters including Jason wereI much more developed in this book and had a lot more to them. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the new characters and the personalities come to life. and as always I really enjoyed seeing the blue wolf do all its fun stuff and give a lot of cool fan service for us werewolf lovers. overall makes me want to read the entire series which I will give a go.
Enjoyed this one more than the first. Jason Wolfe is still a big blue wolf and obligated to work for Centurion for a year in exchange for a cure. He meets his motley crew and within a week of training they are sent out on their first mission. They're not used to working together at this point and will have to deal with it the best they can. Children missing from a village in Mexico, supernaturals involved. As I said, it's a mismatched group, but effective and hilarious at times.
Strong, fast paced story that builds on the first one. Like the continued evolution of the protagonist's mixed feelings towards how handled his fiancee after his transformation. Looking forward to more, even though the idea of more werewolves doesn't really grab me
The story line is refreshingly different. The hero is unusual and lovable. His team have begun to gel, but I think there a many secrets to be revealed. I look forward to the dynamic change as they learn to trust each other. I can't wait to start the next book in the series.
A serviceable action novel. For some reason, I wasn't ever truly hooked. It didn't help that the protagonist was reactive for most of the story.
For most of the story, the antagonist was absent, leaving five proxies to do his dirty work. Their defeat either happened in an eye blink or occurred off-stage. Not satisfying at all.
New team & new unconventional assignment and the author takes us thru the ups & downs of unknown choices. The team has no real cohesiveness but that can be worked out with repetition, too bad they have to into live fire before that happens. Lot's of live repetitions later, the team is on it's way & the author is very creative getting us there.
Great new series. I have read both books and they are excellent. This book introduced Jason's new team. Some crazy characters. Action is non stop. Creative, hard to put down.
Great book! I had a hard time putting it down. I look forward to the next installment in the series! I will wait until then! Time to explore more of the written word by Mr. Magnarella.
What a fabulous read, addicting storyline, with great characters. Follow the Blue Wolf team as they travel to Mexico to deal with clowns gone wild and unknown creatures.
2 books down in this series and I'm really enjoying them. Read through this in just under a day and thoroughly enjoyed the action, great characters and intriguing plot, I highly recommend it.
Well I had a hard time putting this book down for any reason. The wife had to remind that she had already told me to take out the garbage. This is an excellent story with good character building and great fight scenes. Going for book three right now.
Wow, what an action packed book this is.Wolf has his own team at Centurion and their first mission is to see why kids are going missing and what creature is taking them. I can't wait to read what happens next.
Jason Wolfe is a different breed of werewolf. Trained by the military and instilled with ethics that may defy direct orders when he sees fit. He’s a great leader, loyal friend and honorable man. Prof Croft’s supernatural world needs more heroes to help with the evil that is slipping into Earth’s reality. Jason has an important role to play.
I’m looking forward to reading book three in the Blue Wolf series by Brad Magnarella.
This is a nice little change from Prof. Craft. It's a good mix of military combat and monsters. The Blue Wolf is a very likeable character and his new team seem like an interesting bunch. Now on to the next adventure.
Blue Wolf went on his first mission with his team after only one week. He was concerned that his team was not ready to face a monster like the chagrath. But his team came through for him and they all survived.
