Commander Maximillian Fisher is one of the finest officers in the United Worlds Space Navy. He is a decorated hero in the war against the insurgents and comrade in arms to the infamous Josiah Trenchard. After the battle to wrestle Europa from the grip of the Rubente Dextera, their paths diverge.

When Fisher is abducted in the dead of night, he has no idea of the terrifying world into which he is about to be thrust. Blackmailed into working for a clandestine organisation that is simply known as the “Society”, he is forced to do their bidding. Meanwhile, on the other side of the Solar System, Aska Saito is also working for the Society as their paid assassin. Plagued by terrifying nightmares, she discovers a dark secret in her past which is directly linked to their machinations and will draw her and Fisher together.

Fisher must not only fight for his life, but he must also try to reconcile the terrible deeds that the Society forces him to perform with the need to protect his friends, his own sanity and the woman that he loves.

This is part six in the Space Navy series. Length: 86,000 words (estimated).

What can I say, I'm a Jonathon Fletcher fanboy! Think Starship Troppers or the space marines from James Cameron's Aliens movie and you will have a good idea of the kind of characters that Fletcher likes to play with.

What I mean to say is...his stories are really freaking awesome and they quite often make me wish my kindle had a hand and an arm so I could high five the thing when something especially spectacular happens in the story.

Warrior of The Space Navy is the start of a new series that takes place in Fletcher's already established universe brought to us in his Josiah Trenchard novellas. If you have yet to read of Trenchard's harrowing escapades, this story is going to have to wait - It's best to catch yourself up first before jumping on board with our new protagonist, Maximillian Fisher. Don't worry, this story is worth the wait, and I envy the ride that you, the new reader, get to take to get here. If Only I could read it all again for the first time.

So...yeah, yeah, this isn't a Trenchard novel. I was a little bummed too. I mean...c'mon...gimme some Trench. But ya know what...turns out that Max Fisher (he doesn't like it when we actually use his whole first name) is a pretty spectacular bad ass in his own right too. And the ending...don't even get me started!! Now I don't know what I want more...some more Trenchard stories or some more Fisher stories.

It was with a great relief that I quickly discovered how much extra depth and life this story breathed into Fletcher's already awesome universe. There is so much cloak and dagger brought into play with this book that I can honestly say that I have no idea what the end game is going to turn out to be. Everything that I already love about the Josiah Trenchard books is present and accounted for. It's grisly, there's lots of booze, some pretty insane action sequences and a ton of cool sci-fi techy stuff that kinda makes me wanna wet my pants in glee.

Yeah. If you've read and loved the Trenchard books you gotta check this one out!

HUZZAH!

This book is set in the same world as Fletcher's Josiah Trenchard series, but follows main character Commander Fisher. It's an entertaining read with lots of action, horror and banter. I wasn't sure how well it would keep my interest without the awesome Trenchard character in the main part, but I loved it just as much and was thrilled to get a glimpse into the life of the assassin Aska Saito. If you're at all into space adventures you need to check these books out. Brilliant!
