Meeting a stranger in a bar; Alice grabs a rare opportunity to reinvent herself and quickly slips out of her tedious ‘married-with-two-kids’ life and jumps into a new, more exciting life, with Jonny.
But, what starts out as a bit of fun quickly turns sour as her true identity starts to unravel and she realises there are dangerous consequences when you cheat on ‘Mr Mundane.’
Caroline’s latest thriller will keep you hooked to the end as Alice's exciting new life quickly turns into a nightmare and she discovers she is not the only one lying about who she is.
This is a riveting read. Dipping in and out of the heads of the main characters, allows the reader to follow the twists (real, exciting, didn't-see-it-coming, twists) and turns of the action. With believable, well-drawn characters this impressive debut novel has something for everyone - an exciting thriller, taking an 'everyday' scenario and turning it into a nail-biting roller-coaster ride, with the tension ramping up with every chapter. At the same time, for me, this book manages to pull off a tender love-story. It truly kept me guessing, right up to the final heart-stopping page.

I really enjoyed this book! It's one of those kind of books that you can't put down! When I had to put it down, I couldn't stop thinking about it. I immediately connected with Alice. She's just your average wife & mother, until one day she meets Jonny in a bar one night. One night turns into more, & Alice's lies spiral out of control and has deadly consequences. This book is everything I was looking for in a book. A thrilling crime romance, which was addictive & exciting. I was completely shocked by the twists & turns in this book, and the ending left me on the edge of my seat. It's very rare to find a book that gets your heart pounding, & this one did just that. I definitely recommend this book to anyone, & I can't wait to read more of Caroline's work.
