This book discusses the practices that many people would recognise now as witchcraft. However, there is one important thing about this; its origins which are steeped in ancient magic. In the beginning magic was practiced by all. Herbs, plants, folklore, tales, fables, legends of ancient times were all part and parcel of the world our ancestors lived in. Some parts of ancient magic became the established religions we recognise whilst others became the witchcraft beliefs we fight to believe in today. Yet both stemmed from the same source, both came from ancient magic. One is accepted and the other sadly, in certain parts of the world, is still not and those who do practice witchcraft, or the Craft, are still persecuted. We will look at the five important Goddesses within ancient magic. We learn how to connect with them. We also learn the Pentagram of the Divine, or the Pentagram of the Goddess. We shall also explore The Turning of the Year looking at the Festivals, Celebrations, Colours of the Festivals. We will look at the importance of the year and all the seasons within it. We will learn how our ancient ancestors created festivals to acknowledge those season and what changes meant to the ancestors. We shall explore a whole range of concepts from Familiars to scrying, to cloud oracles and foreseeing the future using only nature. We shall also look at some of the stereotypes within ancient magic and try to dispel some myths and beliefs regarding those who practise magic by breaking down those stereotypes we are unfortunately all so familiar with.
We will going to delve into the world of trees. We shall learn about their importance within ancient magic. We shall learn of ancient traditions and beliefs including those that are still practiced today in various parts of the world.
This book is filled with so much more and hopes to teach some ancient ways and practices that are still used tofay by hedge-witches and other solitary practitioners of the Craft.
My Celtic ancestors have to be smiling as I grow and learn thru these books. Finding my path was not easy and now finding these books that are right where I am spiritually is more than just luck. The boom covers so much good knowledge, history, and spellcraft. I love the passion and care that Tudorbeth writes with.
DNF at 27%. This book is in terrible need of an editor. It’s filled with run-on sentences and riddled with grammatical errors. There’s some good information in there, but it’s just so hard to read that I have to put it aside.
