Ed Mitchell was a foster child who later graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He went on to be an Airborne Infantry Ranger, a RAND Corporation Fellow, an aerospace systems engineer, and a community activist fighting to protect water resources in California. By weaving his real-world experiences from foxhole to space into his adventure/thrillers, Ed became a national award-winning author, an Amazon #1 Bestseller, and bronze winner of the Global Book Awards for self-published historical fiction. From private to Lieutenant Colonel, Ed served in Airborne, Air Cavalry, Armor, Mechanized Infantry, and light-Infantry units, including guarding the DMZ in Korea and protecting nuclear weapons. Prior to the 1st war in Iraq, as the Space-Ground Combat Analyst for U.S. Joint Space Command, Ed fought that war in a simulator and analyzed the results for the command. Additionally, he spent years working National Missile Defense and Homeland Security research and development. Ed helped develop the prototype command launch center for the Army’s Strategic Missile Defense units in Alaska and California. Later, as a civilian Payload Integration Manager, he helped develop and test NMD kill vehicles for Lockheed Martin and Boeing. As a writer, he is proud of being a charter-founding member of the International Thriller Writers Organization.
I had not read the prior novels. Yet, this fact did not distract too much from my reading experience. The only thing I would say is that because I had not read the prior novels that my connection with the characters were not established. Therefore, I couldn't find that connection as strong as I would have liked in this book.
However, what for me lacked in the character relationship made up for with action. There was plenty and it stayed high. This helps as it kept the story from being stale. In regards to international thrillers, this is a good one. It was believable, which is important when it comes to these types of books. Overall, this is a good book.
I wrote this international thriller so I'm biased. But I will say that forecasted the future very well before the current nuclear missile standoff between North Korea and the United States of America. I leveraged into the story my decades of experience developing, testing, targeting, and operating a national missile defense interceptor. Now you can enjoy the Kindle ebook release. I hope you will enjoy it.
