When Nathan wakes up in the home of a strange group of dragons after having been held hostage for months by a group of dragon hunters, he’s overwhelmed by anxiety… until he hears it. Heartsong. Blinking his eyes, he looks over to see a sexy older alpha dragon kneeling at his bedside. His kind, crinkled green eyes and gray streaked hair set Nathan’s heart on fire.
Brick is a warrior in his prime, and looking for a mate has never been a top concern—not when his focus has been on protecting the Crown Prince of Novis. But his world completely shifts and instantly refocuses when he meets a sweet young man with bouncy blond curls whose heartsong Brick can't get enough of.
From their very first meeting, Brick knows that he'll do anything to keep his mate safe, even if it means putting his life at risk to dismantle the Hunters' Guild and the newly risen Paragons of Purity from the inside out.Let our dragons take you to places you've never been before as they take down the hunters and their villainous leader…
But if you don't like to fly, never fear... because the ground troops have rolled on out, and it's going to be a hilariously bumpy ride. Alpha Victorious is the fourth book in the Waking the Dragons series and features legendary hunks, an amazing Mama who will knock your socks off, adorable babies, found family who come in unexpected shapes and sizes, and an HEA that will warm your heart. This 43k book contains mpreg and is 18+ only… did you really expect anything less from Susi Hawke and Piper Scott?
I'm a total fan of M/PREG Paranormal Romances, first and foremost as a reader. I'm excited to share my own omegaverse(s) with you. What's not to love about adorable Omegas and the Alpha men who love them? If I'm not writing about men sporting baby bumps, I'm definitely reading about them!
I'm a native of Las Vegas, NV, so I'm pre-wired to love everything weird ~ although I don't find any kind of love to be weird. I'm a cis woman who's been happily married to the same lovable lug for 18 years. We have a 16yr old son, well, at least I think we do? Either that, or we have a ghost that eats all our food and uses up all wifi playing xbox while screaming into a headset.
As a new author, it's been amazing to find the amount of support that I've been given from readers and my fellow authors. Feel free to message me, I love to chat with fellow readers. Am I a reader? Heck yeah! In fact, I'm never certain that I can completely trust an author who isn't a fellow bibliophile.
I will try to update here when I'm doing promotional parties & chats. I usually do those on Facebook. If you haven't already signed up for my newsletter, you should totally do it! I only send out NL's to announce new releases or important announcements. I also like to note in my NL what I'm currently reading along with a cover shot and the link for anyone who is interested.
I just loved this series! It's fun, sexy, has some action and conflict, has some funny moments, and did I mention the sexy?
I loved how with the last two stories it really has an overall story for the dragons and their advisor, who is leading the group against the dragons. This was fast paced and had a lot going on. Part of me wishes that Nathan and Brick had more "them" time - there was so much going on with the families, with Nathan's family in particular, and the overall story.
But I really enjoyed the characters, was glad that they were basically all in each other's stories, and I really loved reading this! Why can't all authors just release 4 novels in a month?!? :D J/K, but it was seriously awesome getting a story every week!
Can't wait to see more from these authors, hopefully they work together in the future again as this was my favorite thing from the two of them!
This is Hands-Down the FUNNIEST Audiobook I've ever listened to.
Colin Darcy is a Narrating Genius in his performance of this book (and the rest of the entire series as well). He really made these characters stand out and come to life in this one though. There were times I was laughing so hard at the antics of these characters and Colin's voices for them that I had tears running down my face, I was Dying. This Audiobook is Freaking Amazing!!! I will definitely be doing some re-listens to this one any time I need a good laugh.
This is For sure my Favorite series from Susi Hawke and Piper Scott (and I have most, if not all of both their books) But, they really outdid themselves with these books and each of the characters we met along the way was just really perfect and unique for each of their roles in the stories they were in. I loved meeting every single one of them. While my favorite book is still Alpha Ablaze B2, this is a very close second to that one. I Loved Brick and Nathan and their chemistry and connection. They were totally perfect for each other. I also really LOVED Nathan's family they were a hilarious addition for this book. I fully enjoyed this one and was happy with how this series ended, even though I would totally be happy to get more of these guys.
Probably my expectations were high? The story moves very v slowly. Only after 75% of the book the action starts. This series was good but this is the last book & it could have gone bit fast paced OR could have more substance(?)
This book is about everyone else but the MC. And everyone else was pretty awesome, except the MC, not because they were boring, but because there was not much depth on them. In the end what really bothered me, was the Daddy talk, It just makes me think pedophile, I can deal with sir but “ daddy” it’s just wrong.
I thought this would be the best of the bunch, the one most like my kind of Alpha/Omega pairing but well, I am not a fan of Daddy kink so it took what I was hoping for and kind of spoiled it a bit.
Also, I was here for the unicorns and now, well, I just don't know if the humor is for me. We'll see.
The series wrapped itself up with a huge showdown.
I liked the 3rd book better than this: less action and the relationship between Brick and Nate was just okay. A lot of unicorns - needed some time to warm up with them.
After everything the end of the this series was a bit of a disappointment for me on two fronts. The relationship wasn't really one that was interesting and the undercover work wasn't talked about. The resolution of the series was at least good.
Nathan and Brick fall into each other quite easily, no issues as to whether they will be together or not. There relationship is a 'daddy' relationship and that is not something of interest to me, and this book didn't exactly make it any more interesting. In this way every interaction between them was just tedious rather than good for the story.
The big thing for this was to fix the problem they had with Orris and that threat. It was disappointing then that a new character was sent in undercover because nothing was shown about the entire process of infiltration and planning. The end showed the final conflict, but it didn't have the backing making it not quite as good.
Really it just seemed this was lacking, especially since there was plenty of backstory in place and it would have been easy to focus on the things that were ignored. At least there was a satisfactory conclusion to events.
Weakest of the series. I was not crazy about the 'daddy' spanking his 'naughty boy' dynamic. I'm sure we all knew this book would also feature unicorns, but I had no idea it would be so much of this book. Like it should be Waking of the Unicorns. They stole the show, giving little room to the dragon-y showdown I had been eagerly waiting 3 books to see.
What a awesome ending to this series. I loved the connection between Nathan and Brick, they’re perfect for each other. I loved Nathan’s adoptive family and found it hilarious when we found out what species they are and that they’re unicorns. I loved Mama Vee and thought it was cool that BeePee played up his hick accent so people judge him as being stupid but he’s actually highly intelligent. Fingers crossed we eventually get his story in the spin-off Redneck Unicorns. The moment when Stanley and Saint Ainley aka Annie Lee worked out that they’re mates and Annie Lee was stroking Stanley’s horn in front of everyone as it’s considered a courting practice for unicorns and very stimulating so shouldn’t really be done in public and Mama Vee’s reaction to it cracked me up. I thought it was cool seeing the dragons welcome Nathan’s family even with their prejudices from the Unicorns that they dealt with back in Novas who were horrible & smelly so it just goes to show how decent the dragons are even if they were being stupid. I loved how the dragons, unicorns and Cornies (Unicorn fan club - Annie Lee is part of) all worked together to take on the enemy. I loved how Nathan’s family tattoos their family crest with their mates initials in the centre for their wedding rings since they can’t wear rings and thought it was beautiful how each of the dragon and their heart songs decided to do the same since Nathan and Brick got it done, it brought them all closer together. I’m glad each of the ancient dragons got their heart songs as that would’ve sucked spending that much time in stasis to never find your heart song. I’d recommend this book, series and both authors to everyone.
I absolutely love this series. The dragons are awesome and the way this series is written is wonderful. The heartsong between the dragons is definitely a new way to describe a fated mate and I felt that it was well done. This last set of dragons, Brick and Nathan, were just too sweet for words. A lot of this last story covered the ongoing fight with the wayward advisor but it was needed to bring this series to an end. Sometimes in a series you feel like you are reading the same story over and over but with a different set of MCs but this series didn't make me feel like that because the underlying story was carried from book to book. I found myself laughing a good bit in this installation, Mama Vee and the rest of Nathan's family was funny!!!! Mama Vee made me want to be a part of her clan even though I would rather be a dragon hahaha. I hope these two authors co-write again because they do very well with their story telling.
Colin Darcy's narration is spot on, the voices are all very distinct throughout the series. In each book I knew exactly who was talking at all times because he carried the voices throughout the entire thing. In this last book, his narration of Mama Vee and her Clan had me tearing up in laughter, very well done!
This book had all the angst I could take but it did end in a glorious HEA. The final dragon meets his heartsong and although he is a dragon, he had been adopted when young by a different species of shifter. And what a funny, loving, strong species it is! So new folks are brought into the world of "Waking the Dragons" and their world is better for it even if they aren't sure that's true to start. These four books have been such a joy to read. Although basically happy tales (they all meet their mates or heartsongs) there has been enough challenges for them to get through that the stories were not predictable at all. So they kept my attention and made me want to find out what happened along the way. Thank you so much for such wonderful stories, Susi and Piper!
Nathan and Brick’s story is silly in so many ways and I enjoyed them all.
Nathan really needs someone to take control of his life and appreciate the little quirks he has due to his upbringing. Brick is just the Alpha for him and I loved how he let Nathan be himself.
I loved Nathan’s family, especially Mama V. She was fierce and funny.
The only thing that bothered me was how much it jumped forward in time, making the story feel like there were parts missing.
Colin Darcy does a great job in changing the characters voices and giving them a whole new life of their own. I’ll be listening to more of his audios.
This was a great conclusion to the series! I absolutely LOVED Mama Vee. There was a lot of humor infused into the story, and it was a great light listen despite the final battle occurring in this book. Nathan and Brick were a cute couple, but I didn't love the "daddy" talk that happened pretty frequently. There was a lot of family in this, so we didn't get as much Nathan/Brick time, but we still got a pretty good feel of them as a couple. The final battle seemed to occur pretty quickly with little fan fare, but I was glad about that as I am not a huge angst lover. Enjoyable series and stories.

Wow! Since I never look at the synopsis or reviews of books in a series I am currently reading, this book's storyline came as a complete surprise to me. At first I wasn't sure if I would enjoy it but the more I read I found I couldn't stop.
What a wonderful ending to a great series. So many unexpected surprises! I enjoyed it so much that I found myself slowing down so that I wouldn't finish it too quickly.
The cast of super colorful characters expands exponentially. They make the story exciting, vibrant, and thoroughly entertaining. Past, present, and future converge. Friends, enemies, colleagues, danger, violence, and love. This book has it all.
In this book Nathan an omega dragon is rescued from the hunters by our dragon group and Brick, the last of the dragons without a mate finds his in Nathan. Sweet Nathan mates with Brick and his foster family shows up the next day. The family is a wild but loving group of unicorn shifters and a project of overcoming prejudice and joining forces to fight the hunters commences. This book is an exciting adventure of hard won battles, inter-specie friendship, lots of loving and new babies. A really good read. I know this series is definitely one I will enjoy reading again.
This book is 4.5 stars. I really loved this book. I loved Nathan or Natty as his family calls him, Brick was really fun. There is some Daddy kink and light bdsm in this book, so keep that in mind. I like that, so it didn’t bother me in the slightest. This was primarily focused on characters and tying up the plot from the previous books. I think it did a good job in satisfying my love of character development and creating an interesting plot that was finished in a satisfying way and not just quickly done with. Very good, it was almost 5 stars, but it would have needed to have a bit more plot direction to be perfect.
I really enjoyed the series. If however this was the shortest book and the whole series. I really wish it would've been longer. I think all of the books could've been a little longer but this one definitely. It's a lovely quick read, A lot happens in the short amount of time in this book.... I love that you finally get to meet the unicorns.... mama VE is one hell of a character, this one touches on a bit of the taboo relationship, overall the plot from book 1 to 4 was amazing, however with the length of the books they could've been one book.... I definitely recommend this series

Alpha Victorious is a fairly predictable end to a sexy romantic fantasy series. I really like the unique world here, with dragons and unicorns. There is lots of explicit boy on boy sex, so if you don't like that sort of thing, try T.S. Joyce or Zoe Chant.
The "bottoms" in this series are kind of magical hermaphrodites, which makes things a little weird in the bedroom, but I liked it. There are lots of babies if the authors decide to do a next generation thing.
I'd been meaning to read this series for a while now and I finally got a chance to. I have never laughed so much especially reading Brick and Nathan's story and meeting Mama Vee and the other unicorns. I'm off to start reading their stories next, I know there will be laugh out loud moments in them just as there were in this series. I would recommend it to anyone new to m/m romance, you can't go wrong with this series.
Hm... I’ll give it a 4 that is earned only by reading the first three. It’s silly but in a tolerable way. A good way to end the series. And tbh, the message was pretty great. Also, 5 stars for this little gem:
“None of us are safe once hate is allowed to roam freely under the guise of ‘faith.’” ~ Alpha Victorious (Susi Hawke and Piper Scott (1:49:32))
With this final story it seemed like things regressed a little bit. I was able to forgive that though because of the sheer courageousness of Nathan's family. In any other series it would have made things seem stupid but it fit so well and just seemed hilarious here. We got to see some old friends and make some new ones.
I enjoyed Brick and Nathan's story. Brick is one of the dragons that finds himself in modern time and Nathan is a omega that was kidnapped and help captive. When Nathan is rescued and wake up the first thing he realizes is that he can hear his heart song. This is the conclusion to the series and has a few twists, some funny moments and a lot of sexy times.
I read book 1-3 a couple years ago but never read the last…rereading the series now I agree with my past reviews of basically thinking how much better Pipers other dragon series is :D Where the f was the romance in this one? It just tied up the plot lines from the previous book but the romance between Nathan and Brick was basically non-existent - shame!
Wow! Just fantastic. A great ending to an amazing series. Brick and Nate were super sweet, adorable, hot, and perfect together. Throw in a final battle, Daddy kink, and some hilariously crazy family and it was an epic ending. I loved it.
What an amazing end to the series! I loved each and every one of them. Each personality of the characters were spot on! Sad to see it end, but what a way to go. Love you guys!
I so enjoyed this series. As always I never want a good series to end, but understand the need to move on to other great stories. Ladies, thank you for spending your time and the collaboration to write these books. Hoping to see more!
